Microtel Cavite - My Bad Experience with Microtel Cavite

This is not an online scam but I just would like to chronicle about my bad experience in Microtel Cavite.

I and my wife celebrated our 19th anniversary and we decided to go out of town to celebrate that occasion. We are residing in Paranaque so we searched the Internet for potential places to stay. Microtel caught my attention because of their reasonable price and beautiful facade. I called up the Microtel Manila office to inquire about their Cavite branch. I spoke to a female voice with the name Vicky. To be fair with Vicky, she was very accomodating, she even explained to me how to get there. So on we went to Cavite.

We had no difficulty going there. From Paranaque, we traversed South Superhighway and exited Carmona. My wife was so excited to get to Microtel Cavite. Looking at their website, http://www.microtel-cavite.com/, Microtel appears to be an international hotel chain with several branches around the Philippines. To make this clear, I am only sharing my experience in Microtel Cavite. Other branches may offer better services. In fact, I and my family are planning to go to Microtel Mactan whenever my time permits.

So we arrived in Microtel Cavite at around 2:30pm and told the receptionist (who turned out to be Mam Vivian), that we are checking in. Advised by Vicky (from the Manila office) regarding extending their promo rate of Php 2129, I promptly told Vivian that we are getting a single room for two. Vivian then informed me that they also have a promo of Php 3400 with extras like free entrance to Eagle Ridge, free swimming pool, free massage, and UNLIMITED internet access.

Being an internet entrepreneur, I agreed to get the Php 3400 just because of the internet access. So we were given our room in the 3rd floor of the hotel. When we checked in, I immediately set up my laptop to test if I can access the internet. It turned out that the internet access is not yet activated so I called up reception to report this. Mam Vivian said she will call me back to check. I waited for around 20 - 30 minutes without any feedback from Mam Vivian. So I decided to call again the reception. Vivian then told me that I need to buy internet access for P100 per hour. I understand that P100 per hour is standard in Microtel.

P100 per hour is ok with me for P2129 as adviced by Vicky of the Manila office. But Vivian offered me a better deal (I thought) because of other freebies (unlimited internet access, free massage, access to Eagle Ridge pool, etc.). That's why I agreed to go for Php 3400.

When I asked Vivian that this is not what we agreed, she insisted that she did not commit to me to give me unlimited internet access. Instead, to appease me, she offered me to give me one hour free. I said to Vivian that we will just check out if she will continue to deny what we agreed. Then she offered again that she will give me 2 hours free. So I countered that I want unlimited access as previously agreed. She even proposed that she can only give me access the next morning. WTF, do you understand what you are saying? Why the next morning when we are checking out in the next few hours? If she only knew that I am online 50-60 hours a week, she would probably understand.

This went on for a few minutes so I and my wife decided to leave the hotel. But before doing that, my wife scolded Vivian for what she is doing. She should not be in the front desk especially for an international hotel chain like Microtel. She does not know how to appease her clients. In fact, we proceeded to Island Cove and got ourselves our room for Php 3000 with all the amenities like unlimited access, excellent customer service, nice bath tub. Microtel Cavite was offering us Php 3400 for one room with one bed and one comfort room without internet access.

People like Vivian is a disgrace to the Microtel organization. People, especially those front desk personnel, should be trained to handle customers properly and not promise things they can't give. We felt offended by her attitude. We don't mind paying Php 3400 for a simple room as long as she keeps on her promise about the unlimited internet access. But she kept her position even it meant losing us as a customer, when in fact she promised everything to us in the first place.

Microtel Cavite I hope you retrain your people. You are losing customers because of Mam Vivian.

Got the oDesk t-shirt today from the local post office. Wow! It feels good that it finally arrived. I am now a proud owner of a t-shirt which symbolizes my being a Certified oDesk Provider.

Earning online is no joke. You've got to discipline yourself to avoid procrastination or else you won't meet your deadlines. Working beside the bed is no easy task. The temptation to take a short sleep is just great and if you don't put some structure in your daily life, you will be hard pressed to honor your commitments.

I usually sleep around 10pm at night and wake up early in the morning around 2-3am to start working. I find that I am more productive working in the early hours of the morning. I then take a nap around 8am when my kids leave for school and my wife goes to work. At 10am I then start working again until 12noon when I take my lunch. I rest until 2pm while watching noontime shows. Yes that is one of the perks of working from home. I get to watch eb babes or sexbomb or the wowowee girls daily. It never fails to amaze me how can these girls gyrate and pump with their supple bodies.

From 2pm to 6pm, I work again and watch the news at 6:30pm while having dinner with my family. When I need to do some catching up, I work after dinner until 10pm or if I have spare time, I make it a point to watch a pirated DVD of the latest movies.

If you add it all up, I only sleep 6 hours a day at most and I work around 12 hours daily, sometimes even longer. But I enjoy my life and I earn tax-free income safe from the government leeches. I am so happy to have discovered oDesk 9 months ago. I will never go back to working offline for some corporations again.

for those who are still reluctant to try odesk, here is the proof of my earnings from july to august. i achieved this level of earning after 9 months with odesk. it is far from being passive but i have now started to outsource work so i can accept more projects. the more quality hours you spend in odesk, you will soon find out that you no longer need to apply for new projects. projects will come to you and there were times the past few months, i reluctantly rejected some because i cannot accomodate them anymore.

I don't know much about SFI and its network and I just don't understand about EyeEarn. I cannot call this one a scam since I've seen affiliates in the Philippines earn from it and recover the initial costs of starting up as an affiliate.

Based on my research, most EyeEarn affiliates earn around $10-20 monthly. It is unlike what SinUser claimed in the DP thread which according to him, he earned $520 in one week. Just lower your expectations when you join this network and I guess you should be fine.

Ewen said to use his "revolutionary system", you only need to be able to read and write. I don't think the minimum requirement using bittorrent and limewire or producing catchy videos is for me to just be able to read and write. I don't know if people even understand what P2P or cloaking is?

It sells for $25 apiece but I've seen the author gave $5 discounts for some buyers. The author, CASXLV, promises a unique method to get almost free mobile phones. It added you only have to setup your website, hosting and probably shipping costs of these mobile phones. Once you have the mobile phones delivered to you, you can sell and profit from them. The author even showed some screenshots of the mobile phones he was able to get from his sources.

As an added bonus, the author of this ebook provides free online coaching. To be honest, I was quite intrigued to have this ebook. Not that I am interested to profit from it, but curious on how is the method like.

So the $25 ebook is a text file consisting of one page. So the method is like this:
1. Setup your domain, hosting and website.
2. Register in Alibaba.com and pose as a buyer of 300 mobile phones and require suppliers free samples to signify their interest.
3. According to the author, this will work 25% of the time.
4. Wait for the mobile phones to be delivered and once you receive the mobile phones, tell the suppliers the phones were junk.
5. Sell the mobile phones to ebay or to your friends.

According to the author, CASXLV, this method is not going to be saturated. I must admit this method may work but as more people apply this method, it will come to a point where suppliers will stop shipping free samples.

I also doubt that this can be considered a long-term business strategy as it is based upon scamming suppliers and making a profit out of it. For all we know, suppliers are already aware of this method and yet this is still currently being sold in DP.

When I was doing my usual forum posting activities last night, I noticed several threads all pointing to 365jobs4u.com. So I followed the link, reviewed the site and check some info about it.

365jobs4u is a work from home site offering opportunities for home-based workers: job opportunities like data entry, typing, and surveying jobs. A quick look on the whois information revealed that the domain owner had applied for whois privacy protection. Not that I am against whois privacy protection but it gives added credence if you can see who owns the domain of a business site you are dealing with, especially if you are to be paid by them in the future. So this is red flag #1 for me.

The home page of this site reveals one glaring fact:

This site is spamming the search engine thru keyword stuffing. An old trick used by webmasters to convince the search engines to rank them well for the stuffed keywords. Look how the site repeated the words data entry, processing, conversion, all highly-searched keywords. No wonder they spammed the forum I was in last night with several threads all pointing to this site.

From the home page, I selected International Customers because I am not an Indian and I am from the Philippines.

The page that followed presented me with several menu options I clicked on Top Vacancies (actually the word "vacancies" was mispelled) and I got a blank page with keyword stuffing of the words data entry, processing, etc. at the top.

I clicked next on Content Writer. I was brought to a sales page. I saw some magic words on this page.

"A single line typed by you ... can pay you $5000. "

How can anyone beat that. There is more. Look at how they defined what is a content writer :

The last line caught my attention.

"It's a pure data entry job."

I never thought that a content writer is the same as data entry. No matter how I scratch my head, I still can't see the connection. Data entry is filling in forms, filling in blanks. Content writing may fill in forms and blanks but the similarity ends there. I don't need to define content writing as I am sure everyone knows what it is.

I also noticed that there are a lot of grammatical errors in this page. I don't claim to have perfect grammar but for a site promoting a content writing service, I will not transact with you if your sales copy cannot even come up with simple elementary English.

Now on the top of this page, there is a "Payment and Plan Options", I clicked on it and I got this screenshot.

"Just spend some time & make any-time life-time income"

This is not American English. I am not American but I haven't heard this English usage. I cannot comprehend what this paragraph is, it talks about so many things and this is a sales copy.

Btw, you need to register for $45 for the Basic Plan and $85 for the Premium Plan. I don't know what is the registration for. I guess it has something to do with the maximum number of articles you can submit per month.

I've taken another screenshot of the payment plan to show the complete information.

Take note of the last line in the above image.

"Time required to complete each article is around 5 minutes"

Are you nuts? Why give me time limit to write my article. And it was written in red and in italics so that it will be difficult to read. How can I get paid if they require me to write within 5 minutes. Let me see, for a 400-word article, I need to write 80 words per minute. But I can type only 60 words per minute and that is typing not writing.

I reviewed the other pages like the one for online typing job. Again, they have two payment plans. $55 for Beginner Typist and $95 for Professional Typist. You can get 50-100 assignments daily and you are allowed only to commit 2 mistakes per assignment. Similar to content writing, they set the bar high so that you won't get paid.

I believe I've seen much of this site and there is no need for me to go farther. I won't outsource my content writing to a site which can't even come up with grammatically-correct basic English copy. I won't also pay for membership for any work of this type.

I will not brand this site as a scam. But the way I see it from their website, even if you get some work from them, you will never get paid because it is just difficult to meet their requirements. There are a lot more opportunities out there which require no upfront payment and guarantee you receiving your payment regardless of your typing or writing speed.

I happened to view this website and it has a compelling sales copy that I never wasted any time to sign-up. Here is the home page, above the fold.

The site allows me to setup my site in 2 minutes for free. They even boasted that it would have cost me $1097 for them to build me a money-making site. Then they showed me an earnings screenshot showing earnings averaging $1500 daily.

Farther down the page, this caught my attention.Once I activate my new website, I will have millions of potential customers. That is so compelling. I am sold. Let me have my website. So I applied.

Let us see what happens next. I signed-up using one of my throw-away emails just to check what this site has to offer me.

After signed-up I got this welcome message from Costa Dedes himself.

It gets exciting at this point. Costa Dedes gives me two options: to choose between the Basic Package, which is free and the Pro Package, which will cost me $11.95 montly. I thought it was all free. OK at least there is a free option. They repeated once more that whatever option I take, I will get the $1097 website. I just don't know how they arrived at that figure.

Of course, as I don't want to spend any money, I selected the Basic Package which is free. It asks me for the website title. I put in some fictitious title and a captcha to ensure that I am a human.

Then I received an aweber autoresponder message from Michael Vincent requiring me to confirm my request. Since it is just a throwaway email, I consented.

Another autoresponder message from the same guy (I wonder where is Costa Dedes) now congratulating me on setting up a new website. Here is the email.

The email recommends a next step to start getting customers to my website. I thought I will have millions of potential customers once I activated. So they recommended me to www.Get-Visitors-Now.com for $49.95, an upsell.

What is worst is that my new website is nowhere to be found. They did not even mentioned in the email regarding my access account and password.

Another day, another scam.

So this appears that the domain uami.org was only bought by Jorge in 2007 in time for the launching of his "My Mistake System".

Skeptical? That's O.K. - I understand completely. I was the guy who would buy every product from all the Internet marketing gurus. And I realize that you, like me, discovered many of those systems were nothing more than a lot of empty promises. What I am only saying is that there is no direct correlation between doing a good deed and producing an outstanding product.

Again, Sebastian how can you do $900 a week of income for 2 hours of work. Even if your math is correct, filling a $15-survey every 4 minutes will only allow me to earn $225 per hour or $450 for 2 hours.

Here is another math fallacy. 5 surveys for $500. That means $100 per survey. If you have that, I cannot find it in your database.

I think Sebastian figures have many inaccuracies. Sometimes it is 2 hours per week, $15 surveys, $100 surveys, $75 surveys. Can you specifically point me to the $75 surveys? You never did show it in your report.

These bonuses are cosmetics only to mask the real meat of this report.

Now comes the list:
The first few companies are all CJ (Commission Junction) affiliate links. And people are paying $49.97 to click on his affiliate links? I even found some CPA offers in those links. CPA is cost per action where you fill in some forms like submitting your email and/or zip code and Sebastian gets paid for it.

The first company NFO.com and clubmomlinks.com do not even exist.

Throughout the report, Sebastian is offering you to be join his affiliate program to sell his CashCreation product.

This guy never stops to amaze me. He goes on and on to produce trash materials and earn from people who are too naive to understand his modus operandi. "Too good to be true" promises, run away from it. Too much affiliate links, run away from it. Math fallacies, not that I expect Sebastian to be a math wizard, but if the figures are jumping from here and there, there is a big chance he pulled those figures from the air.

This is an ebook about the potential of earning $1000 daily thru Clickbank. This was posted in DP (DigitalPoint) last May 24 by soicy88. Here is the URL of his thread:

Let us see here. The thread generated a lot of attention in DP for the past few days because of its claim of consistent earnings of $500-1300 daily from Clickbank. The selling price of this ebook is $50 for the first 10 buyers and according to the author there will only be 25 copies of this ebook to be circulated.

A curious observation by some DP members noted missing clickbank dates (May 12 and 14) in the sample screenshot and the earnings bar of $968 for May 21 appearing shorter than the earnings of $900 of May 24.

Someone even further noted that the $ is too far-out from the date in the Clickbank stats. Right there and then, I smell this as a scam. I can see them even miles away. Soicy excused lamely that there is some glitch in his Clickbank stats and desperately corrected it by putting youtube video.

Even with the youtube video and the image, a lot of DP members commented that these are fakes/doctored because of the discrepancy in the earnings bar.

soicy countered that people have nothing to do but say negative comments or misinformation about his thread which is again a lame explanation since he is not directly answering the comments but reacting to it only by telling them to leave his thread if they have nothing better to say.

This went on for 5 pages in DP and the skeptics continued to pound soicy for the fake video and screenshot. As of today, 5 units were sold and there are 20 more to go.

Here is my review of soicy's ebook:
It is a no-fluff straight to the point report consisting of 6 pages only. So for $50, it costs around $8/page. The method involves PPC but not adwords. It recommends using AdBrite PPC because of its low CPC (cost per click) as compared to adwords.

Initially, soicy outlined what will be discussed within the ebook:
- Adbrite step by step process
- how it can make you potentially hundreds to even thousands of dollars a day for as little as 5 cents a click
- how to setup up ads that get clicks and conversions
- what type of products to promote to maximize the return of every click you get
soicy further boasted of seeing ROI figures as high as 1800% on some campaigns with just $5

According to the ebook, to first step in profitable internet marketing is to find a hungry market. soicy presented questions to help you focus in finding that hungry market. No keyword research just pure common sense.

The second step in the process is to find a product in clickbank. I feel his clickbank product selection focuses only on 2 factors which I found lacking: $/sale and grav. $/sale does not include refunds. To check if there is significant refunds, you should check Total$/sale. Usually total$/sale is less than the $/sale. When the difference is more than 20% between these 2 numbers, then a lot of refunds is going on for this product. So better look for something else.

His tip on the sales page is also very basic. He recommends a sales page should be longer and professional without even mentioning if there is an opt-in page or a contact number which are meant to take away the commission from the affiliate.

3rd step is setting up your campaign. His best tip here is choosing your campaigns in English-speaking countries such as US and Canada. Other than that there is not much gem here.

4th step is the meaty portion which talks about creating your ads, tricks and strategies. It emphasizes using psychological triggers which can be found in any IM forum. soicy makes it appear so easy I almost found no substance to what he is saying in this.

In concluding the report, he asked in the report "how do you gross $1000 a day?". The simple answer is rinse and repeat.

My overall take on this report:
1. too overpriced at $50.
2. not a lot of fluff. not a lot of substance either
3. the screenshots are fake based on the submitted images in the DP forum
4. it talks of generalities and for newbies this may confuse or misled them.
5. I don't subscribe to finding hungry markets without going thru keyword research. A question checklist is good but you have to support it with stats and keyword research will do that.
6. A ctr of 2-3% is not too common in PPC. Even in adwords. Much more in adbrite. soicy does not tell you here how you will achieve 2-3% CTR.

Overall, it is a no-buy recommendation. Waste of money and better find better products out there. It is a horrible product.

Addicted To Online Income Opportunities

For the past six months, I've been busy doing consultancy work with several clients. Got several SEO projects from oDesk which allows me and my family to live comfortably. I never imagined ending up in a work-at-home environment having exposed to corporate life for more than 18 years, I still can't believe in the good blessing I am getting now. I am receiving good feedback from my clients and I've been racking up good oDesk hours. The payments are always prompt. I get paid every Wednesday thru my Payoneer card and paypal.

God is so good to us. I remember just a year ago, I was on the verge of despair and depression. Don't know how we survived those trying times. But everything looks very bright and promising right now. I've never relapsed since then. How can I relapse, I am just too busy to think about it.

Aside from oDesk, I have some mini projects in the field of affiliate marketing. I started by reading ebooks on internet and affiliate marketing. There are just too many opportunities out there I don't think a lifetime is enough for me to tap into this virtual goldmine.

I remember a few years ago, I experimented with adsense. I stayed with adsense for years without knowing that there are other more lucrative opportunities like affiliate marketing. When the Google slap happened, my adsense earnings went down and I had to find other ways to get a piece of the internet marketing pie.

That was the time I discovered Affiliate Marketing. It was actually the same time when I discovered oDesk. With my SEO consultancy work and affiliate marketing on the side, financially, things turn for the better.

I am not posting any screenshot of my earnings. I don't need to. That is not the purpose of this post. I am not here to brag about what I earned from my online work and online income ventures. All I would like to share is, it has been one hell of financially satisfying six months for me and my family.

And things are looking good today and tomorrow. With various income streams, I can assure myself of comfortable income for months or years to come. As days go on, I find internet marketing addicting. There were days when I earned really good but there were weeks I don't earn any. But if you average them up, earnings get to a decent level on a month by month basis.

In this addiction blog, I will be doing something other internet marketers are not doing. If you happen to read any blog about the "make money" niche, you will notice bloggers putting their affiliate links here and there in the hope of getting some sales. Most internet marketers you would find make mini-reviews and recommendations of internet marketing products and ebooks.

I won't be doing that here. You won't see affiliate links all over this place. In fact, what you will only see is my Adsense. Other than that, I am not interested to put up my links all around this blog. I am not recommending any internet marketing products here. Instead I will be reviewing products and ebooks which I feel are just scams. No affiliate links. No money making links. Plain and simple.

If you are an internet marketer, and if the product, software or ebook you are selling is a scam, or you are peddling misinformation for the newbies and veterans alike, you will surely find your product here.

The scammers of the internet marketing world will be my focus in this blog. I am now focusing my addiction to online income opportunities by giving you honest reviews of low-quality products to positively help people in the internet marketing arena avoid falling for it and spending their hard-earned money.

After more than two years of being jobless, I now got myself a work. It is not the usual work most of you guys are accustomed to. I don't have fixed hours. I don't need to get up early; dress up; sit behind a desk for 8-9 hours; wear long sleeves, slacks and ties; deal with office politics; lick my boss' a%$. It is not that kind of job. I get to work at home using my laptop. I can take a nap whenever I like. I still watch noon-time shows. I get to be with my family all day. I bring the kids to school. It seems the ideal work. I bet it is.

I thank God for this opportunity. Being busy most of the time helps me in my recovery. It takes the craving away. Knowing that I need to finish a report or tasks daily, taking that next sip of alcohol is far from my mind.

Last November 8, I joined an online marketplace called oDesk. It is an outsourcing site for programmers, web designers, and other IT related jobs. Actually, it is not only for IT people but also for copywriters, technical writers and virtual assistants. I've been a Guru.com member for quite some time now but oDesk is very much different from the other outsourcing sites. For one, it pays on a per hour basis unlike Guru which pays on a per project basis. The good thing about the per hour rate is it usually pays better if you calculate the final pay. It is also motivating to work since you are being paid well by the hour. The fees vary but it is usually better than the Philippine rates.

After about a week of bidding for work, someone offered me to do a SEO/SEM project. SEO is Search Engine Optimization. SEM is Search Engine Marketing. The main task is to build backlinks for some sites specified by the Buyer (the buyer is the one who contracted me).

The technical implementation for taking on work in oDesk stands out from the other outsourcing sites. As providers (oDesk calls us their providers), we download a software called oDesk team. When working on a certain project, the oDesk team software, which sits on the PC's system tray, takes a snapshot of your desktop from time to time. The snapshots taken are then uploaded to the server and stored in your oDesk Team Area. This Area can be accessed by the Buyer anytime giving the Buyer extreme visibility of what you are doing. Since the snapshots are taken at random times, you really cannot be seen chatting your time away or logging into your friendster account. The oDesk team software is like a big brother looking over your shoulders (rather looking thru your screen).

Alternative Therapies Going Mainstream

I am from Asia and since I was young, I never believed anything about alternative medicine or therapies. I hate acupuncture. Just the sight of needles puncturing into my skin frightens me. Having been born a Christian, I was taught Yoga is evil. Yesterday, I went to the bookstore and found this very interesting book of Alan Smith titled UnBreak Your Health: The Complete Guide to Complementary & Alternative Therapies.

I must admit when I spotted the book, I got curious regarding its contents and I scanned the first few pages. To my delight, the book enlightened me and changed my understanding on alternative therapies. The book is not only a comprehensive guide to alternative treaments, systems and devices but also gives good advice on the complete approach to health care - mind, body and spirit. Some good number of pages were focused on discussing ailment prevention and staying healthy. Anyway, it is often less expensive to prevent getting ill than curing the sickness. The wide array of available alternative therapies out there just amazes me. Once you read this book, you will think twice before consulting another doctor.

Published by Loving Healing Press (August 22, 2007), this 122 page book retails for $13.57. It is a small price to pay compared to the value and wealth of information you will get. Definitely, this book is going to be in my Christmas shopping list.

Welcome back, myself

It has been a while since I updated this site. More than 2 months. I relapsed in April. I have taken alcohol again. The first time when my brother-in-law visited our home first week of April. Didn't have the guts to say no to him. After 7 rounds of San Mig Light, I experienced a hang-over the next day. It was a horrible experience.

I relapsed in April again two more times. The last time was 1st week of May. I had a drink with my brother in my parents' home in Lagro. I limited myself to 2 bottles. But again the rules are rules. Never take any alcohol again. No matter what. Whether small or large quantities. Once an addict, always an addict.

After reflecting all of these events and relapses, I said to myself, never to touch a bottle again. I am on my way back to my addiction again. After being sober for some months, it is easy to relapse. Proof of that is what happened to me in April and May.

I just let it pass and I don't dwell on it. I don't want to get depressed again because of these relapses. I have to focus myself again. I promised not to take it again.

God help me...

P.S.
Financial health is still not good. In a month's time, my 3 kids are set to enrol in school. Don't have money yet allocated for that. So difficult to be unemployed. My business is not doing well either.

I have to guard myself against depression or I may relapse again.

I am craving! My addict mind is playing tricks on me again. I would like to go out this afternoon and have some drinks with friends. 50% chance I will do it. I am on the brink of relapsing today.

There is an ongoing conflict with my wife for 2 days now. I am going out this afternoon and I will look for some friends to have some drink.

Sounds familiar? My addict mind is playing tricks on me again. An addict always looks for opportunities to relapse. At the first sign of an opportunity, he/she will relapse. What are these opportunities? A big fight with the wife? Problem at work? Financial difficulties? Major problem? Even minor problem?

For an addict, there are myriads of reasons to relapse. Any addict can come out with just any excuse in this world to go back to his old ways. Done that. Been there. I have used all the creative excuses I can create to just indulge myself back into my addiction.

When I am in this situation, when I am thinking of relapsing, I just pray to God to help me. The Sobriety Prayer comes in handy in this case.

God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change
Courage to change the things I can
And wisdom to know the difference

There are certain things in this world that we cannot change. The attitudes of our co-workers, nagging of wife, cousins who tell negative things about you. No matter what we do we cannot change them. No amount of pressure will change my wife to stop nagging. She has been like that for years. We cannot change the world, dirty politics, the crazy-driving jeepney drivers, policemen who expect to be bribed in every opportunity. The world we live in is not perfect so why fret and get frustrated. Just accept it as it is.

But not everything is out of control though. We can change ourselves. Traverse the right direction instead of going the wrong route. The serenity prayer focuses on the courage to changing ourselves. It is not easy especially in the case of an addiction but it can be done. By knowing things that we can and cannot change, by having the wisdom to know which ones we can change or can't change, we will have peace of mind, the serenity to go thru life's daily challenges.
