How to Create your own wool Dryer balls!

So I figured I would branch out from Reviews to How to's. I'm Not sure how many "how to's" I will do but I have one now for yall. (Please send suggestions on things you wanna know how to do, and I'll try to figure it out)

My Balls are simple and nothing fancy , But effective.
So what you will need is Acrylic (or other synthetic fiber) Yarn. (I got mine at the dollar store for .. well.. a dollar, and I decided to get two different colors.)
100% wool yarn.
Old nylon tights.

First you take the Synthetic yarn and start a ball, Make it at least 2-3 inches in diameter (you can make it larger if you wish) Now that you have your Budget Saver Center created you can start on the 100% wool yarn, You can use any color you wish. Now continue with the outside of the ball til its about the size of a tennis ball. (you can make them any size you wish, if you notice mine are different sizes lol)

Now Place your Yarn balls into the nylon, Tie a knot at the open end so the balls will not escape. Wash the balls in a regular wash with any laundry you have that needs a good cleaning.

Once your load of laundry is done Dry as normal. Yes, dry your balls in the dryer.
Welp it should be all done =) Now cut open your nylon and check to see if your balls are felted together, if not just put them back in a nylon and run through the wash and dry a couple more times.
You can add scents with Essential oils or leave unscented, put in your dryer and BAM you have energy savin, laundry beatin, Scent leavein, Dryer balls.

On a side note: If you wish to use 100% wool on your balls you sure can. These I made were just to save a little money since wool can get very expensive.
Dryer balls are not just for cloth diapers! These are used to help keep drying time down, which keeps Utility costs down! A recommended amount for good quick dry time is 10 balls per load.

I bought my first set of woolies longies from Olivia at Sincerely Young. It took me forever to figure out what color I wanted because they were all so pretty. Finally Olivia recommended a colorway that was perfect for our camo loving family. I sent her my youngest son's measurements and she got to work. She was done so Fast I swear it was hours, though pretty sure it was a day or so. I got it in the mail soon after. My longies smelled so good, and look amazing! As you can see in these photos She does an AMAZING job! And yes she makes things for Girls too! Skirties, Shorties, Longies, Soakers OH MY!

So while Im working on my Babywearing Blog I figured I would post a review of my Fuzzibunz. The First Cloth Diaper I ever owned!

my very first box of diapers!

I First learned about Cloth Diapers 15 months ago. I was pregnant with my second and needed to save money. As I talked my Husband into I was researching all the diapers we could get. I found Fuzzibunz on Amazon for a few dollars cheaper then buying from their site if I ordered 12 of them. So I ordered 2 sets of 12 and thought I was set for cloth. (Little did I know I would become addicted and would get in trouble time after time thanks to diapers)
We ordered our diapers a month (May) before Blake was born, but thanks to a hurricane in the gulf I didnt get them til nearly August. Boy was I excited to finally got the first box!

I ripped it open and in awe I looked at them. These were the first Cloth Diapers I had ever seen in person! The colors were so bright, they were so soft. I was super Excited to try them out on Blake who was already well over a month old. I opened them up and took a look at them. They came with two inserts, one new born size and one larger.. Also stuck to the inside was a sticker for a giveaway they were doing. On most of my diapers I didnt have any residue left when I took off the sticker, though a couple did. It eventually washed out , with no effect on Blake.

They are made with a fleece liner. And adjustable elastic in the legs (front and back are adjustable), which is nice..

		Its just an open pocket, which has a large opening and great for large hands. The only thing is It doesnt stay large. Once you are past the opening it gets really hard to get your hand in for the stuffing. And the Sticky PUL doesnt help either.

The outside of these Fuzzibunz comes in great colors. It took me a while to get them just right and not to leak. Since they were my first Cloth Diapers I had that learning curve.Since the OS has adjustable elastic there are no Rise snaps. So the front looks very clean no matter what size your baby is in. Its A very tighter looking fit, and I have noticed that unless the Fuzzibunz are falling off my son, they tend to leave marks on him.

My Experience:
Fuzzibunz is an honest company with a good warranty on their diapers. I had 2 of my Fuzzibunz' Snaps break with in a month or so. I filled out their claims form and sent my 2 diapers back (I paid shipping) And they sent me two brand new Elites Onesize diapers, which were an Upgrade from the style I had. To make up for my shipping cost they sent me a Free Fuzzibuz Mattress Pad which retails for around $40! (your items may vary in retail value) I would say that well makes up for my few dollars in shipping! And Yes, They paid shipping back to me.

Now you can get the FuzziBunz Onesize Elites (not the style I have, mine have been discontinued) from their site for $19.95 each, or less is you buy in bulk. They come in a ton of great colors and now have sayings on some of the bums. They even have Perfect Sized diapers if OneSize isnt your thing (Perfect Size is cheaper then OS). They also have many other products including Mama cloth!

THE REVIEW!

I give FuzziBunz Onesize Diaper 5 out of 5 snaps.

Though they leave some marks, and are a little hard to stuff, Once I got the hang of Cloth I have never had a leak and their Customer service makes up for any small issue I may have with the diapers.

Rump Arounds Two snap Pocket Diaper

Video review

So I received an adorable Diaper from a company In Canada called Rump Arounds.
At first glace these diapers could be confused for Alvababy Diapers, but with a closer inspection you can clearly see there is one big difference.

(Rump Arounds is the I Love you Diaper, Alvababy is the Circles)
As you can see they are a little bigger then an Alva Which made me very happy. I already Love my Alva's but bigger is better when It comes to my Bruit of a baby.

I put it on my dear son and they fit Great! Nice and snug on the smallest setting. He ran around for a while to See the fit and how he could move. We had no leaks ! Which thats the most important issues isnt it ;-) ? Next after the wash was a Night use. They worked as well as any other diaper, I do not recommend them for a heavy wetter like mine though.
I also received a Bamboo Trifold. Now this was my first Trifold so i was not sure exactly how to use it. After a few tries I felt so goofy for thinking it couldn't be used just like an insert (hehe)
These work great for extra Umph at night!

What is the Great Cloth Diaper change? Well I am So glad you aksed!

History: Judy Aagard’s desire to celebrate Earth Day by hosting a family event for the Tiny Tots community quickly morphed into a dream to set a Guinness World Record for the most cloth diapers changed simultaneously. Shortly thereafter, The Great Cloth Diaper ChangeSM 2011 was conceived and organized by a small group of cloth diaper enthusiasts that were eager to demonstrate that cloth diapers are a real option for today’s families.

The initial plan was to develop an infrastructure for any cloth diapering fan in North America to be able to get involved in, either as a participant or an organizer. Word quickly traveled across the oceans and it was soon evident that cloth diapering has a formidable following not just in North America but around the world. Several countries hosted GCDC 2011 locations even though for some it meant getting up in the middle of the night to do so.

2011: A Guinness World Record was set for the most cloth diapers changed simultaneously with 5,026 participants at 127 locations in 5 countries. The total number of participating hosts (not all qualified for the GWR) reporting were 203 with 6,363 participants from 10 countries! $5,167 was donated to the Real Diaper Association.

2012: We’re looking forward to breaking the records that were set in 2011 on Saturday, April 21, 2012! The Great Cloth Diaper Change will be the grand finale of the International Cloth Diaper Awareness Week, April 16 to 21, 2012.

Just a fast post about the awesome little Cloth diaper ornaments I found just before Christmas. Bargain Girls group wanted to give some special ladies (our hosts) a gift that would describe us all to a T . We searched High and low all over the web and someone finally found these ornaments.

I swear I could hear the giggles of Glee from all over the country coming from the Bargain Girls. lol These were a MUST for our hosts! we ordered them and I swear she sent them through a teleporter cause they seemed to get here over night..When I sent them to our hosts they were well liked, some mommas decided to use them as doll diapers so im pretty sure they are going to get lots of use and love.
The Price was the Best I have seen for anything like this, something that cant be passed up =) She Has great service and I plan on buying from her more in the future.

Earnest Efforts Natural Woodworking

So For Christmas Gifts for my boys I participated in a Co-op (through Bargain girls) For 100% Natural wooden Rattles and "Spirit Shakers" From a Mom and Pop called Earnest Efforts (facebook, Etsy) Who create these Beautiful Rattles out of Woods they collect from around the Pacific Northwest. All non- toxic materials used in the process.

This was one buy I was very impatient to receive. I couldn't wait to give these rattles to my youngest and see how he likes them. As soon as I opened the Poly-mailer from my co-op hostess I couldnt help but play with these rattles. The craftsmanship is beautiful as well as the wood as you can see in the pictures. There are no Stains or Dyes used to color the wood its all the natural beauty of , well... Nature haha.
It was still a few days before Christmas and I was having a grand time with them while the kids were asleep . Mean ole' husband finally made me wrap them and put them up so Santa could put them in the stockings.

Christmas morning comes and Im so excited to let my Youngest open his rattles. (I knew they were not going to be huge with my oldest.. Daddy went overboard this year haha!) My youngest was a little overwhelmed on Christmas day, with Big brother going insane ripping everything open, tossing gifts for Daddy to help open, running around like a crazy man. So it wasnt until a bit later that DS2 (Dear son 2) Figured out what they were and that they were His! He LOVES to bite them, and shake them, one of the few rattles he likes to use. He has picked a favorite too, seems his favorite one is the Black Oak which is very textured to the touch. (But they dont normally make Black Oak rattles) The Rattles are a great fun for on the go, in the car, home, just not the bath hehe.
My oldest got the Spirit Shaker which he uses to annoy the ferret, and chases him through the house.

These rattles would make an EXCELLENT baby shower gift for any expecting mom. Whether she is a Crunchy mom wanting Natural toys for her little one or even the Elegant momma wanting beautiful toys. Anyone With a baby can appreciate these (IMO) Works of baby play Art.

Why Cloth?

These are just a few of the excuses I hear from people when they see my baby has fluff on his bum.
Well lets take a closer look at some of these and the TRUTH behind Cloth.

For many new moms this time of their life can be very confusing, scary, and frustrating. There are so many decisions to make, so many options, so many people telling them what they should or shouldn't do. So much Judgement.. (Ugh with the judgement!)
I remember it all the first time , and this time with my second its no different. The same decisions but more choices, the same judgements from other people. I wish I knew then what I know now. For me and my first son (5 years old) Disposables were a no duh. I knew nothing about cloth, didn't even know people still used cloth. My mother used cloth 30 years ago on my brother is about all I knew. I used disposables because I was ignorant. I was Ignorant of a lot of things back then. Yep, its really amazing how much you learn and grow in 5 years.
I am happy to say I am no longer ignorant when it comes to what I put on my baby. This time around I was lucky enough to have a friend point me in the direction of cloth. And I have to say for me an Stay at home mom (SAHM) this was an easy decision.

The Cost:

First I looked at cost. Thats the biggest reason I started to look into cloth. Being Military we dont make much money, and with two kids things like diapers add up FAST. First I went to the store and added up how much in disposables I would be spending:
On average it would be about $950 a YEAR and most kids are in them for about 3 years. Thats $2850 for 3 years! This does not include wipes, or rash cream, Add another couple hundred a year. (cost was calculated from current cost of disposable diapers in my area)
Then I went online and research Cloth (though not as well as I should have) For a good working stash you should have at least 24. I found 24 Fuzzibunz Onesize for a good discount on Amazon I got my first stash for about $425.00(including shipping) .
(your first stash can be MUCH cheaper) I did see the cheaper diapers but didn't think they would be any good so I had mistakenly passed them up. If I knew then what I know now haha. Now That would be all I need to have a great stash. But Of course being me I wanted Prints. But thats all Extra.
Anyways for for $425.00 I have a working stash that should last me 3 years since I bought all onesize. That's a savings of $525 Just the FIRST YEAR! And yes you still may need something for a rash every now and then. (DS2 has only had one since the switch) But instead of buying the expensive rash creams you can go to the baking section of most stores and get Organic Coconut oil (lard like in looks) for like 5 bucks and it will last FOREVER.

For me that was seriously enough to get me to do cloth. Even after all my prints(extra diapers) and my Bamboo inserts (highly recommend starting off with Bamboo inserts!) Im still saving about $400 this First year. Im not exactly sure on all my savings lol because I have bought and sold, But I am no where near $900 yet and Im at 7months.

Health:
So most of us moms (and dads) want our babies in the best of the best, eat the best foods , and wear the best clothes... Why should their bottoms be any different? Disposable diapers are not very good for your baby. Keeping in mind Cloth Diapers are CHEMICAL FREE. Whats in Disposables?? :

Dioxins
Most disposable diapers are bleached white with chlorine, resulting in a byproduct called dioxins that leach into the environment and the diapers

Sodium Polyacrylate
Sodium polycarbonate is a super absorbent chemical compound that is used in the fillers of many disposable diapers. It is composed of cellulose processed from trees that is mixed with crystals of polyacrylate. This chemical absorbs fluids and creates surface tension in the lining of the diaper to bind fluids and prevent leakage. Sodium polyacrylate is often visible as small gel-like crystals on the skin of babies and is thought to be linked to skin irritations and respiratory problems. This chemical was removed from tampons due to toxic shock syndrome concerns. As it has only been used in diapers for the last two decades, there is not yet research on the long-term health effects of sodium polyacrylate on babies.

Tributyl-tin (TBT)
Many disposable diapers contain a chemical called tributyl-tin (TBT). According to the EPA, this toxic pollutant is extremely harmful to aquatic (water) life and causes endocrine (hormonal) disruptions in aquatic organisms. TBT is a polluting chemical that does not degrade but remains in the environment and in our food chain. TBT is also an ingredient used in biocides to kill infecting organisms. Additionally, according to research published by the American Institute of Biological Sciences, tributyl-tin can trigger genes that promote the growth of fat cells, causing obesity in humans.
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
Disposable diapers frequently contain chemicals called volatile organic compounds (VOCs). These include chemicals such as ethylbenzene, toluene, xylene and dipentene. According to the EPA, VOCs can cause eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches, damage to the liver, kidney and central nervous system as well as cancers.

Other Chemicals
Other chemicals often used in disposable diapers include dyes, fragrances, plastics and petrolatums. Adhesive chemicals are used in the sticky tabs to close the diapers and dyes are used to color and make the patterns and labels that mark diapers. Perfumes and fragrances are used in some disposable diapers to help mask odors.

So knowing whats in them now made my decision even easier. Which made me feel horrible for ever putting them on my First. My First son has so many diaper rashes through out his diaper years, and now I know why. I thought it was from not changing him enough. I was literally changing him every hour or more, to try and keep the rashes away. Then of course using the rash paste which eventually caused his rashes to get worse. I would change brands thinking he was allergic to that brand. He would be good for a while then start to rash again. I of course blamed myself. Which now I know it wasn't me but the diapers!
Frankly I really dont see how disposables as they are made now are even legal to put on babies. You would think the FDA would have better regulations on what chemicals can be used and things like that.

Environment:

Disposable Diapers can take anywhere between 250-500 YEARS to decompose! The Real Diaper Association estimates that 27.4 billion disposable diapers are used every year in the United States, and over 92 percent of these diapers end up in the landfill. So every single diaper from the day they were created are all still sitting in a landfill with the chemicals, and human waste soaking into the land every rain. Which if you know anything about how nature works the water on the surface ends up going to the water in the ground, then we pump it out of the ground and drink it. (many city treatment plants do not remove 60% of chemicals and other dissolved whatnots from the water. Many towns waters supplies should NOT be drank right from the tap but have some sort of cleaner or filter before you drink but thats a whole nother blog)
Now I am not the most green momma in the land but I do try, and this I just couldn't add to anymore. Thinking how much trash we all already throw out, at least a lot of that is biodegradable!

How easy Is Cloth?

They are so easy to use my 5 year old son can change his little brother diaper with minimum help. Cloth Diapers are no longer sharp pins and rubber pants. If you have seen any of my other blogs you have noticed a HUGE difference in what our mothers used to what I now use. My diapers are breathable, and Waterproof (with practice leak proof). They snap or Velcro close (some still use pins if you choose) Now Cloth is just as easy to put on and take off as any disposable.Its the wash thats different. Some people like me use special Cloth soaps others use cloth safe soaps (which I am making a list and will soon post it.) You take off the diaper and instead of placing in a trash bag, there are choices. First choice is a Dry pail. Basically and pail will do, I was using a card board box at first lol. Have some sort of liner in that pail, they sell special ones but I found a regular trash bag worked to line it. Another Choice is a wet bag : A bag of different sizes made out of PUL and a zipper. Put Diaper in and zip closed! When you are ready to wash, just take the out and dump them in the washer. (other steps depending on what stage your baby is at) Many moms do a Rinse, wash, Rinse , Rinse. I myself do a wash, Rinse, Rinse just to make sure I got all the soap out. Then you can either line dry or dry on low/no heat tumble. Fold and reuse. Simple as that! Yes its more work then disposables, yes its a bit more water then you would use with disposables. but the Above benefits of cloth to me out weight the little extra work.

In Conclusion:

Cloth is not only healthier for your baby, Better for your world, but also Healthier for your wallet too!

They come in so many different verities, colors, and awesomely cute patterns.And look so darn cute on your baby, you wont be able to stop!

Absolute Delights ; Dryer balls, cocoons, hats, knitted play food and more!.

I recently Participated in a coop for Absolute Delight which is a WAHM Facebook/Hyena Cart shop.
She makes really nice stuff like Cocoons , Hats, Never unroll Dryer Balls, and Play food. Since Winter was coming I decided to order a Cocoon and matching hat set to help keep my dear son warm.
Wait, wait, wait.... Whats a cocoon you ask? Well its just the most awesome thing made for babies since the boob. Basically Its a wool, or cotton blend knit Tube (some closed bottom some tie bottom), that you tuck baby in and its like a womb/swaddle blanket. She can make them for preemie babies (which we all know are impossible to find things for) and Larger babies like mine. Keeps them all snuggle tight, safe to sleep in, and of so very very VERY soft!

Okay, so now that we are all caught up on what a cocoon is lets move on =). So I ordered mine in Cotton/synthetic blend, and a beautiful blue. It took me FOREVER to decide on the color because she has so many awesome colors to choose from. The size was the hardest part for me to figure out because my son is growing super fast and I didnt want to buy this and have to get rid of it a week later lol. So I ordered a size bigger then I thought I should get. Super excited I wait and wait. Check the mail every day. Since she makes them by hand and a ton of ladies ordered in the same coop it took a little while longer then usual to get my order (not counting the USPS issues Not to be blamed on Deb {owner of Absolute Delights}) When my cocoon and hat Finally Arrived I jumped with glee.. Which landed me firmly on my butt since I was standing on Black Ice in the middle of the road.
I had to rush in and snatch my baby away from his uncle who was playing with him to try it out !

It Worked Great! My Dear son enjoyed being snug and warm, as well as a nice chew on the soft (oh so soft) yarn. Time for the hat! It looks great! Dear son is Enjoying his cocoon and actually keeping his hat on hehe.

So not only is it Uber soft But Baby Loves it too! yay!
Dear son loves to fall asleep in it too. Though while asleep he does tend to wiggle out, But im sure its how much my son kicks and wiggles in his sleep. And actually as I was writing up this review Dear son Woke up, reached for his cocoon, and tried putting it over his feet. (only 6.5months)

So these are a great replacement to swaddle blankets! A definite Conversation starter.

Ok so your new to Cloth Diapers and dont know what dryer balls are either?? Thats Okay! Thats what I'm here for!! And to be honest I didnt know what Dryer Balls were either until this coop came around.
Dryer balls are (usually made out of) Wool balls (scented or not) that you place in your dryer with your Diaper laundry and they do a couple of things.

Since you cant use fabric softener , They kinda beat the cloth softer
Help save energy by helping the load to dry faster
If scented will release the scent just like a fabric sheet and help add a little smell good to your fluff.

Well Since the recommended amount of balls for help in the drying and softening department is 4-6 balls and I only have 2 Smalls, I dont have a very good idea on how well they work, But I can tell a slight difference in my Bamboo Diapers softness. BUT I can tell you Deb's balls Smell AhMazing! She has so many different Essential oil scents I picked "Lick me all over" AkA: LMAO its so nice and my diapers smell great after a dry!
Deb's Balls are not like other's balls though. She does the normal Wool ball wrapped around itself But then she goes a few steps further. They are made with a knitted cover to help them from unrolling. These dryer balls are first rolled into balls with 100 percent wool yarn. Then are rolled with wool yarn and felted. The wool in the balls make them shrink as they felt; making a denser dryer ball. Next I knit up a cover, sew it on, and shrink the covers over the balls. I measure each ball prior to felting. The finished balls will be approximately an inch smaller then they are to start with. Making them not only Extremely functional but also look really cool.

Ever get tired of Spraying the poo out of your soiled Diapers? There has to be a better way right?? Well I found one. Bububibi's Bamboo Flushable Liners! So easy , Still Cloth, and Biodegradable!
They come in a roll just like toilet paper and you just pull one off each diaper change, lay it in the diaper and BAM your done! When you change the diaper you just pluck it out Poo and all and Flush it down the toilet. They work great! I have not had the pleasure of an explosion diaper with them yet, But for every day solids and even some not so solids they work Great!

I posted a Blog Titled "Whats Baltic Amber You Ask?" a few blogs back so that I could post this one. I ordered my Baltic Creations amber because my dear son spit up a lot more then I felt was usual. After doing all the research, and looking at a lot (and I mean a LOT) of retailers, jewelry makers, and scam artists I settled on buying from Liana (owner and maker for Baltic Creations jewelry). Her prices are fair and she has a great reputation from her customers.

So I sat down and looked over her site, unable to decide on a color, shape, Oh there are so many choices. Took me a good 2 weeks to finally pick which necklace I wanted to get my son. Then of course she has to make an adult necklace that I just couldnt resist! Rainbow! YAY! I swear she could hear me squeal all the way down in Texas!!

I ordered them both along with a converter so that I could turn my son's necklace into an anklet at night. (My choice, most moms say its fine to leave on Im just paranoid) She got them out so fast I was very surprised when my son's necklace showed up.

As I ripped into the well sealed poly-mailer revealing a small white box and a few business cards, I was so very excited. My first bit of real Baltic Amber! I went inside and opened the little white box and literally Gasped out load! The Color of the Cherry nuggets was exquisite. Each stone was place with care, and a knot placed between everyone, so that If something were to break My baby would still be safe. It was perfect! And as the days went on and My son started to spit up less and less (added to the Dino-Daisy I had Won) I couldnt be more happier with it.

Then when Mine came in (ordered two different times) I once again was taken back at how pretty the color of the Amber was. I wear it constantly, getting many complements on how pretty it is. And my carpel tunnel is so much better then with out it!

SUNBABY DIAPERS

I recieved my very first Sunbaby diaper in October. I ordered it because my husband always complains I dont have boy enough prints so Skulls it is haha!
At first glance this diaper seems like all the rest, well except for the prints which are always unique. But if we take a closer look you can subtle differences.

Lets start with the outside:
Sunbaby diapers come with one row of waist snaps, one row of hip snaps, and 3 rise snaps.

For me these diapers Fit my 16lb 26.5 inch (almost)6month old son a little odd. I can never get the Hip snaps to snap with out feeling like im going to cut off his legs, they seem placed to far back on the wing.. But the waist snaps are just like any other diaper though mine seem a bit tight to unsnap So tight I almost ripped the PUL trying. I hear from others theirs are tight and with time loosen up becoming easier to unsnap.

Inside:

The inside of these are nice. They are very soft and abosrbant. My first use it leaked but I think that was because i didnt prep well enough. I have had no issues since. The Sunbaby has a lip of PUL on the inside to help stop leaks from the top. Also has an Envelope style close to the Extra large pocket. Which I personally dont like the envelope style closes to pockets, but its not deciding factor. The Extra large Pocket opening makes it easier for even big hand Daddy to stuff. The inner layer is a bit thicker then the other diapers I have and much softer even after a few washes.

Sun Pei the owner of Sunbaby diapers Creates new prints I Once a month almost and discontinues the previous prints (once sold out they are gone) Which makes these diapers different from every other brand of diaper. The Prints are undoubtedly awesome and cute so it makes them a real must have in many Cloth diaper stashes. Since these Diapers sell for about $5.00 each (depending on size of package)on her site But only in packs of 6, 12 and 24 with or with out inserts (your pick of prints). So if you are looking to just buy one or a few diapers Coops are the way to go. And if you like a print that is no longer being produced then simply go to a Sunbaby facebook fan page and search it out. Sunbaby Diapers have a whole little underworld for buy/sale/trade, and some prints even auction for upwards of $30!
The biggest problem with sunbaby diapers is they seem to always be changing in size and color quality. So you are not sure if the new prints you get will be the same size as the last ones you ordered... This could be a major problem for us with larger babies, or even those with smaller ones. The last order you got might fit perfectly , but the new order the legs might not fit right.
For me these diapers are more accessory then anything So I would be willing to buy more and who could blame me for that price?

For Lack of consistency but good at keeping leaks in as well as a major variety of prints, and price

Whats Baltic amber you ask?

So these days (maybe forever IDK Im not that old lol) People have been talking about how Baltic Amber helps their baby with teething pains, Them with conic pains, Headaches, body aches. The list seems endless. Well What Is Baltic Amber? Does it have bugs in it? Does it really work? Or are all these people just crazy!?

Like you I was once out of the Amber loop. I thought, a bunch of tree sap couldnt possibly work to help pains and illness.

Lets take an in depth look to what Baltic Amber REALLY is.

Amber is Actually Fossilized tree resin NOT sap.
Baltic Amber (also called succinite because it contains 8% Succinic acid) comes from the Baltic Region of the Baltic Sea and is the largest deposit of Amber in the world with about 80% of the worlds amber found there. It dates from 44 million years ago.
Batlic Amber gets its Healing powers from Succinic Acid.

Succinate is a component of the citric acid cycle and is capable of donating electrons to the electron transport chain by the reaction:

succinate + FAD → fumarate + FADH₂

What does that all mean? Well I have no clue lmao! But ok here it is. When Baltic Amber is full of this Acid and when it lays on your skin it gets warm releases an all natural analgesic (pain relief). In other words... Natural pain relief that DOES work (shown here by all my sciencey talk hehe)

Still skeptical? Well so was I even after reading everything, doing all the research talking to real moms using it. I still didnt believe it, and i was to afraid to spend the money. Then Like a sign from God I won a Bracelet made by: Dino-Daisy Amber Teething Necklaces

And it actually worked! My very spit uppy then 4 month old was very noticably less spit uppy, less crancky and he just got two teeth (5.5months) in two days and he was a bit more spit uppy then normal days but a lot less cranky other then he didnt want to sleep.
So I decided to get my own and him some more. This time I ordered from a friend She owns Baltic Creations and does Amazing work!
I have Carpel Tunnel in both wrists but my right is worse then my left so I got a bracelet and behold it works! With out the Amber on I can hardly move my hand. With it im able to type, play with my son (who is very heavy and I am right hand dominate). So many things. Now I can wait to have the surgery to correct it until after my sweet boy is done nursing.

So there you go. An explication and a real life first hand experience with Baltic Amber. Oh and for the record. i have yet to see a bug .. I know.. I know.. Bummer!

Alvababy S series (AkA 4.0 Double Gusset, or Color Snap)

I have had my Alvababy S series diaper for a little while now and though I only have one I am totally in Love with it!

There are so many features its hard to pick where to start!

So I guess Ill start from the outside in. Alvababy S series comes in several very cute colors and prints, along with both single or multiple colored snaps.
Mine is solid black with Multicolored snaps. Sadly for me though The different colored snaps are only on the inside snaps , The outside snap are all one color (purple). Another outside feature is 4 rise snaps for a snug fit on even the littler babies.

S Series also has double waist snaps and 1 set of crossover snaps. Now for the Inside!
Snap in Insert (which it comes with 1 MF)

Double Pocket openings one in the front for easy snap in and one in the back which has an Envelope like close.

At the Front Of the inside This Special Diaper has an extra layer of PUL to help stop leaks in their tracks! And Yes it works!

Now for my Favorite part.
Double Gussets!

This makes this diaper nearly 100% leak proof! I have had it about One and a half months now and I have yet to have a leak. I use them on my heavy wetter for his Night diaper. I so wish I had more then just one!

The fit is great For my Little one. He is 16 pounds and around 26inches. I snap it on the second smallest setting (no crossovers) on both the Waist snaps and Raise snaps.

Now The Bad. Sorta hehe

So the only thing I dont like about this diaper is the Back elastic seems to have been stretched to tight when made so it sorta curls in on itself. making is Visually unpleasing but plenty functional.

Kawaii Happy Leak-Free One Size Diaper Cover

So for my First Review I thought I would review an easy diaper. I just received a Kawaii "Happy Leak-Free One Size Diaper Cover" with Velcro close. I ordered this diaper For my DH, He always complains about the snaps on all my diapers so I though velcro (kinda a "no duh" on my part), He also complains that his hands are to big to stuff all my pockets. Sooo Cover it is. (which he has yet to even try! Grr! lol)
This Cover is pretty neat compared to others I have seen. Instead of it needing to place over a fitted or a Prefold, Just insert an Insert and away we go! (can use on prefolds or fitteds as well)

No need to stuff, or fold, or whatever you do with a fitted lol.
I recently had this on my son and had the pleasure of Explosion testing it! I had 1 Micro Fiber insert inside and he pooped. Not just a little poo but enough poo to make a poo baby out of! When normally my Fuzzibunz Pockets leak the poo out, this little cover held it all in! Not a drop went where it wasnt suppose to go!

This cover has 3 sets of Rise snaps for a nice fit, can come in either Snap or Velcro. Has Laundry tabs so no diaper trains, and a PUL lip on the inside to not only stuff the insert in but to also help stop leaks.

My son is currently 16 pounds and 26inches long. The smallest setting fits him great!
Legs fit really nice, and as you can see he has plenty of room to grow in the waist.

All and all I give the Kawaii Happy Leak-Free One Size Diaper Cover:
