The Dirty Dog Ranch is no place for wild game. Lizards,
squirrels and turtles alike fear the wrath of Rocco when he patrols his domain.
You can imagine the concern we all had when Patrice announced a fellow feather
had come to deliver this week’s headlines. At least this turkey had the sense
to stay on the roof of the studio or he might have ended up like the turkey in
that scene from “A Christmas Story.” We were all able to breathe easy and get
back to work after our feathered friend departed! Here’s what we had come into
the newsroom this week.

The Tampa Tribune Outdoor Expo (aka The Frank
Sargeant Show) is going on this weekend at the state fairgrounds. The Mogan Man
will be making his appearance Saturday, March 3rd, 10 am-3 pm. Look
for Blair to be hanging around the FINS display at the Southeastern Liquidators
booth or in the Family

the state and beyond to bring his expertise to Dick’s Sporting Goods. Capt.
Blair will be sharing his knowledge about products, techniques and even some
honey holes at the in-store meet and greets. The first stop this year will be
in Ft. Lauderdale, March 11th, 11 am-4
pm. Blair will have $10 off coupons which makes the Flats Blue rod a real
bargain at $89. Don’t forget to stock up with lures, leader and line from the

their own news updates that will post to their web site and other networking sites
such as FaceBook. These
updates will highlight new products, celebrate milestones and give exclusive

One of the original lounge lizards, Mark Bellotte, posted
pictures of a recent trip with his friend, Ron, in the Mogan Lounge. Ron
Gougher comes down to sunny Florida
every year to take in some Spring Training games, a few hockey games and as
much fishing as he can squeeze in between sporting events. Ron recently had a
chance to try out the Flats Blue travel rod in the waters of Tampa Bay
and caught several redfish and the biggest trout he has ever caught. That catch
of a lifetime is a well deserved Mogan of the Week.

When the Mogan Man is on location for a shoot, unpredictable
things can happen. Sometimes we end up with so much footage that it can’t be
squeezed into a 30-minute show and good shots end up on the cutting room floor.
“Bits and Bites” brings that scrapped footage back to life for your viewing
pleasure. Next week, join us as we share unseen footage from previous shows as
Capt. Blair battles more tarpon, more redfish and more snook. Catch the
excitement Sunday @ 12:30am, Monday @ 12 pm, Tuesday @ 6:30 pm and Saturday @ 9:30

All of this talk about economic stimulus and bail outs in
the political forum got us thinking and Addictive Fishing has come up with a plan
to do some stimulating of our own. It’s important to our Mogan Maniacs to save
money on their purchases and AF is going to help them save mucho dinero. Here
are some of the best buys this week, but stay tuned as we will continue to
bring attention to deals and steals in the future.

Sporting Goods’ Florida
stores. Now through this Saturday, DSG has DOA, MirrOlure and Humminbird
products on sale. The coinage adds up when you stock up on DOA and MirrOlures
at 20% off. The Humminbird 597ci is on sale. With the additional savings from a
mail-in rebate, this will certainly save some bucks. The sale ends this
Saturday, so you better hurry!

Our Mogan of the Week comes to us from Alabama. Patric Garmeson came to the Mogan
Lounge to brag about Chloe’s catch. Fishing in the Mobile River,
Chloe landed this Mogan trout! The Mogan Maidens are back in the spotlight. If
you have a story to tell and pictures to prove it, stop in at the Mogan Lounge to do your
bragging. You can also catch us on FaceBook.

The Mogan Man is fresh off the boat this week as he returns from his trip to Costa Rica. Blair set out to scratch off another species from his bucket list and succeeded with his first roosterfish. This week, we have our own list to work on with lots of hot topics, so let’s get to it!

Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here on this somber occasion to pay tribute to our dearly departed AF Forum. The forum was an instrumental stepping stone in building a better, brighter path for the AF web site. The forum spawned lasting friendships, an incredible knowledge base and was a place where internet savvy anglers could converse and share. The AF Forum is survived by its followers and has been officially replaced by the Mogan Lounge. Now, a moment of silence…

Located just outside of Orlando, Apopka is one of those towns often overlooked and rarely mentioned. The Mogan Man is heading to Apopka for the Old Florida Festival that’s running this weekend, February 10-12. This 3-day lifestyle festival brings together demonstrations on fishing, hunting, shooting, archery, wildlife and conservation. There will be plenty of food with the farmers’ market and food truck rally along with live music entertainment. Come see Blair talk about Florida fishing Saturday and Sunday. For more information, check out the official Old Florida Festival web site.

Drum roll, please…. Congratulations Scott Schierl in Hilbert, Wisconsin! Scott is our latest winner in the Minn Kota/Humminbird Giveaway. Scott won a Humminbird 300 series kayak combo that was designed for boats with limited mounting surface. This unit packs a lot of power in a smaller unit making it perfect for kayaks and small boats. Put your name in the bucket as Scott did by visiting Addictive Fishing.com and click on the Minn Kota/Humminbird Giveaway banner.

The newsroom has been moved, the format has been changed and now it’s time to decorate! We have so many birthdays to celebrate this month, we’re going to leave up the balloons and crepe paper all 29 days! We even get to celebrate an extra day because it’s bissextile year. While we get the balloons blown up, check out what else is going on.

FINS is catching on in S.W. Florida. Laishley Marine in Punta Gorda recently stocked the shelves with FINS. Here are a few other locations you can find FINS in that corner of the state; Dick’s, Angler Systems, Fishin’ Franks Bait & Tackle and SRQ Fishing Oasis. Let us know if your favorite tackle shop needs to be stocked with FINS.

Mogan Man travels to Islamorada in the Florida Keys to fish for tarpon on fly with Capt. Honson Lau. It’s amazing that such a large fish will eat a bait as small as the flies Honson chose for this shoot. Blair points out that “elephants eat peanuts” and tarpon will eat a tuft of fur and feathers. The NEW Flats Blue series fly rod gets a good workout when Capt. Blair ties into a true Mogan. The NEW Blog newsletter is taking form but we still need our fans to get signed
up. Costa announced its cool contributions. This week’s episode is sure to give
you chills. Let’s go now!

Made in the shades

Costa caught everyone’s attention with the ad campaign last
year that featured sculptures of tarpon, billfish and bass hand built from
their own sunglass parts. Costa announced that two of these sculptures have
been donated to worthy organizations. The tarpon piece can now be seen on
display at the International Game Fish Association (IGFA) in Dania Beach, Florida.
The blue marlin sculpture was donated to The Billfish Foundation (TBF) which
plans to have the fish on display in its booth at the Miami Boat Show in
February. Check out the Costa
behind the scenes video on how they built these innovative creations. “See
what’s out there.”

You might have noticed a slightly different look to the format last week as we
are converting over to a blog style newsletter. Now, with three ways to get
signed up, we are on a campaign to make sure no Mogan Maniac gets left behind.
Getting signed up is easy! Just click this link for the AF
Mogan Blog and enter your email address. We’ve included the link in the
email notifications we’re in the process of sending out (check your SPAM
folder!). You can also sign up at AddictiveFishing.com
at the top of the page where it says “Enter Email for AF Newsletter.” Don’t get
left out of the conversion or you could miss out on Mogan Prize Pack giveaways!
Congratulations to Terri Johansson – she’s this week’s winner.
and fishes for lake trout on the ice with Capt. Bernie Keefe. Catch the
excitement Monday @ 6 am, Wednesday @ 4 pm and Saturday @ 8:30 pm on Sportsman Channel. Can’t get

That’s not Austin Powers but he’s got the mojo! Our longtime
Mogan Maniac, Austin Rouse has been going crazy on the fish in the No Motor
Zone. Austin
made it difficult to choose between his 39-inch redfish and this gator trout.
Good stuff, Austin!

There’s never a dull moment at the Dirty Dog Ranch. Rocco
usually keeps us in stitches with his antics around the compound, but this week
he got a lesson in mind over matter. Rocco is in stitches this week as he lost
his mind and collided with matter. You have to watch out for those solid
objects! While Rocco recovers, here are a few other items going on around the

AF is making some changes for 2012 and we’re going away from
the old emailed newsletter format. You might have noticed a slightly different
look to the format last week as we are converting over to a blog style news
format. Thousands of emails were sent to let our fans know about the changes
and to sign up for the new Mogan Blog. We have thousands more to send this
week. Keep an eye on your Inbox and check your SPAM folder for the email. Don’t

Do you have a “permit” for that? Norm LaChapelle drew some
attention in the Mogan Lounge this week when he started showing off pictures of
his Mogans caught on fly. Norm’s catch had a run-in with a 10 ft. hammerhead.
The encounter did not end well for the permit but it left Norm with a memory of
a lifetime and earned him a spot on our wall as Mogan of the Week. Get logged

This week’s pick comes from the Mogan Lounge which has a

becoming a hot little hangout on the web to swap fish tales. This week, Nick
Kerkmann posted pictures of some Mogan redfish caught in the Indian River on
the east coast of Florida.
This 46-inch Mogan put up a great fight and put a real bend in the 7’9” Flats

Last year ended with a bang! AF closed out the year with 2.2 million views online, 20,000 FaceBook fans and there’s always something happening in the Mogan Lounge. Starting a new year is always inspirational for making changes. This year, we’re clearing out the nest and moving the news room. Don’t worry; this quilled pen will still deliver the weekly news.

We want to thank the tens of thousands who have subscribed to the Mogan Mail Newsletter. For the past eight years we have been keeping the fans up to date with insider news, zany stories and readers’ photos. In the coming weeks, the Mogan Mail Newsletter will no longer be emailed in its current format. Everyone gets enough spam clogging up their inbox these days, so AF will be converting Mogan Mail into the Mogan Blog. If you are currently subscribed to Mogan Mail, keep an eye out for our Mogan Blog activation confirmation email from Feedburner Email Subscriptions. This email will allow you to easily transition your subscription to the new Mogan Blog. These emails will be sent out sometime between now and the end of January but if you don’t want to wait or if you want to sign up for the first time, go to AddictiveFishing.com and enter your email address in the box at the top of any page to subscribe to the “AF Newsletter.”

While you’re on the AF site, make sure you sign up for the Humminbird/Minn Kota Giveaway – click on the “Monthly Giveaway picture” under the giveaways heading on the right side of the home page. You could win a NEW Minn Kota Talon just like Keith Cleary in Connecticut. Keith filled out his entry online and we pulled his name out of the fishbowl to be our winner for the December drawing.

Scott Crown gives new meaning to the phrase “take a kid fishing.” Scott took the kids fishing while they were out of school for the holidays and these Mini Mogans caught some real Mogans! They caught redfish, black drum, trout and sheepshead during the winter vacation. Not a bad way to close out last year and an awesome start to the new one. Scott, thanks for sharing the photos with us. You’re the first Mogan of the Week for 2012!

Roll out the old and ring in the new; it's a New Year's party all week long at the Dirty Dog Ranch. Patrice has packed away the holiday decorations, Kevin is laying out the path for next year and Capt. Blair has already taken a few steps into the future by getting a jump start on the shooting schedule for the new season of Addictive Fishing. From all of us at AF, we would like to thank our fans and sponsors for their generosity and continued support as we ramp up for the next installment. Let's give the sponsors some love and let them know who has the best fishing show on television. May 2012 bring prosperity and good fortune to you all!

If it's Blair's magic Mogan flip flops that allow him to step into the future, they sure would be fun to wear at Port Canaveral's New Year's Eve Street Party. After having some fun there, skip to the Downtown Melbourne's New Year's Eve and then hop over to the Rockin' the Dock New Year's Eve party. Don't miss any of the festivities! Visit Florida's Space Coast online for a full list of events.

The time machine footwear could also be used to outrun the tax man. There are only a few days left in 2011 to make a generous charitable donation to an awesome organization like Mote Marine Laboratory. The funds are used for research to help understand and protect our marine environment. Project Snook helps bring funding directly to the Mote Aquaculture Park and the group that studies and breeds snook. The more we know, the better we can manage. Invest in the future of our fisheries. Donate today!

Sailing away! A picture is worth a thousand words… which creates more typing for this reporter. Fernando Romero is a man of few words but this sailfish left him speechless. Do you want a chance to be Mogan of the Week? Share your pictures with us on the AF FaceBook fan page or post them in the Mogan Lounge. Be sure to include a story about the fight, what kind of bait and equipment you were using, and most importantly, the GPS coordinates of your catch. Well, okay, maybe not the GPS numbers, but give us an idea where you were in this great big world.

Needing a set of those flip flops,
There's still time to get off your tail feathers and get your Christmas shopping done. We put together a few "must have" items to ease your shopping experience, save some time and let you pocket some cash. Next stop, gift wrapping!

You should have been there! The AF crew was in Ft. Myers last weekend for the Dick's Sporting Goods Mogan Tour. DSG started a huge holiday sale that same day and the merchandise was flying off the shelves! Hurry down to your local Florida DSG location because they’re giving away Flats Blue rods and Sabalos reels! Yep, you heard me … I said "giving away." Buy 2 Wright & McGill Capt. Blair Wiggins signature series Flats Blue rods and get your choice of a Flats Blue rod or Sabalos reel for FREE. Such a deal! The sale ends this Saturday so you better get flappin'.

Just in time for Christmas! Our new AF MoganWear buffs are in and there's still time to order online to have them delivered before Santa arrives. This stylish, tubular buff by Fish Skinz protects against harmful UV rays with its wind resistant material that is also fast drying and wicks moisture away. Visit FishSkinz.com and stuff their stockings with some AF colors.

More Mogan Series apparel! Are you familiar with Breathe Like A Fish (BLAF) performance fishing shirts? Perhaps you've seen them on the show before? They really are the coolest shirts out there! These microfiber shirts have mesh netting on the sides to increase air flow, keeping you nice and cool. BLAF has launched the Mogan Series shirts that feature the AF logo on the front and back with the phase "rod bendin', drag screamin'" down the arm. Check out the new shirts at BreatheLikeAFish.com/mogan.

Last week at the Dick's in Ft. Myers, Rich Evans stopped by to hang out with the AF crew and chat with the Mogan Man. Capt. Blair shared some of his expert advice about pompano fishing with Rich and the next day he put it to use. Rich struck gold! We have one question for our Mogan of the Week winner … Rich, what time is dinner?

Wrappin' it up,
The countdown has begun! As shoppers franticly scurry through the malls in search of the perfect present for their loved ones, let's remind them that every shopping season starts at Dick's. DSG has a big sale on MirrOlures this week. The Mogan Tour will make its final stop for 2011 in Ft. Myers this weekend. And there's something in store for the near future. Make your list and check it twice!

All Dick's Sporting Goods in Florida are having a MirrOlure blow out from now through Saturday. MirrOlure hardbaits are priced at $5! Now is the time to stock the tackle box or cross "stocking stuffers" off your list. Florida stores also have special holiday hours this week for your shopping convenience. Monday thru Thursday 9 am-10 pm, Friday 9 am-11 pm and Saturday 8 am-11 pm.

Calling all S.W. Florida Mogan Maniacs! Come out to Dick's Sporting Goods in Ft. Myers for the final destination of the 2011 Mogan Tour. Capt. Blair Wiggins will be signing autographs and posing for pictures. We're taking bets on if he will be wearing a white beard because he has some FREE stuff to hand out. The Producers will be there as well taking donations for Project Snook and signing up entries for the Minn Kota/Humminbird Giveaway. Don't forget to ask them about all the new stuff coming in 2012. Stop by and hang out with the Mogan Man this Sunday, 11 am-4 pm.

Wouldn’t it be nice? Imagine a store where you could shop in your jammies. Imagine a store that carried only the most awesome stuff that can’t be found just anywhere. If there was such a place, it might have things like the Addictive Fishing buff by Fish Skinz and the Mogan Series performance fishing shirt from BLAF. This place might be stocked to the gills with baits like Mogan Series MirrOlures and the Tro-Kar Mogan Spoon. Don't leave out the Wright & McGill rods and reels or the FINS situational braids! Wouldn't it be nice to have a shop like that open up soon?

We have another fishing machine in the making! One of our newest members to sign up in the Mogan Lounge has been sharing his prize catches in the gallery this week. Connor catches anything that swims; snook, black drum, bass … you name it! He's not wearing them in this picture but he even has matching camo shorts with the Mogan Man. Fish, beware of this Mogan of the Week superstar!

Put it on my bill,
Most of us have stopped our belly aching from overeating during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. We now move into the final stretch as we put the wraps on 2011 and pop the cork on 2012. The final stop of the DSG Mogan Tour is coming up, announcements about new items are in the works and we need to crown the King of Best Fishing Show.

Cast your vote! It's that time of year again when The Sportsman Channel awards the best in TV programming for the year. Competition for The Sportsman Awards are well underway and AF needs your vote to be named Best Fishing Show of 2011. Vote today! You could win a trip to Vegas to be at the Sportsman Awards in January when they announce the winners.

The AF Crew is rolling down to Ft. Myers later this month. We want to see all of our S.W. Florida Maniacs at Dick’s Sporting Goods on December 11th. The whole gang will be there on the last stop of the 2011 Mogan Tour. We'll be taking donations for Project Snook and handing out FREE stuff. The Mogan Man will be doing his thing – signing autographs, posing for pictures and just hanging out telling fish stories. Ask him how he catches fish from his tree stand!

Traveling this holiday season? Are you taking your fishing rod with you? Most holiday travelers suffer the dilemma of choosing between packing their favorite fishing rod or that present for Grandma. It never fails, Grandma wins every time. Now, you can pack the gifts and still have room for your Blair Wiggins Signature Series rod with the Flats Blue Travel Rod. This 3-piece rod was designed to have the action and strength of a 1-piece rod. Don't miss out on slipping in a fishing trip during your Christmas vacation! Stay tuned for important promotional news from Wright & McGill coming this holiday season.

Trout fishing in Tampa Bay is on fire! The trout season is closed until the first of the year but anglers like James Parker are enjoying some catch & release action as bigger fish move into the shallows. James adds that he has been catching a lot of big redfish too. Thanks for the report, James. You're our Mogan of the Week!

I'm not fat, this is my winter plume
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Addictive Fishing! This is one of our favorite times of the year because of our passion for good food. We would like to take a moment from the roasting, baking, steaming and sautéing to give thanks to our Mogan Maniacs and our sponsors. Thank you for your continued support. We love you guys and gals! Here's to a happy and safe weekend full of family, fun and, of course, a fabulous feast.

If you can get your pants buttoned the day after gorging, Dick's Sporting Goods has some Black Friday deals you do not want to miss! Did you miss it? Mr. Producer snuck in a Thanksgiving Gobble Gobble Giveaway this week on FaceBook. Anyone who shared this week’s video upload post was entered into the drawing for an AF Prize Pack including FINS line, DOA lures and more. You might have missed the giveaway but you can still watch this week’s upload; The Bucket List. We just want to say "Thanks for watching!"

Austin got his mojo… Austin Rouse checked in at the Mogan Lounge to show off his Mogan redfish he caught from the kayak. He was fishing in the Indian River Lagoon last week when this "fat daddy" ate the bait. Some say it was his mojo but we like to think it was the Mogan Man jersey.
The Dirty Dog Ranch earns its title as our beloved Rocco was back in the vet this week. That crazy pooch gets into more trouble… Getting into the spirit of Thanksgiving, Rocco started feasting early this year and now he's giving it back. There's been talk of a "No lizard left behind" treaty in the works. While Rocco recovers, don't miss out on the MirrOlure sale going on at DSG. Mr. Producer loaded another full length beauty this week. Check it out!

This week’s upload features the debut of the Flats Blue fly rods by Wright & McGill. The Mogan Man traveled to Islamorada in the Florida Keys to chase tarpon on the flats with Capt. Honson Lau. This was an awesome shoot for AF and a great way to break in the new rods. Watch this full length episode in stunning HD quality on the Addictive Fishing YouTube channel. It's "Poontastic!"

Time's running out! Dive into the MirrOlure Madness by picking up the November issue of Coastal Angler Magazine. Within the pages, you'll find a Buy 2 Get 1 Free coupon from Dick's Sporting Goods. MirrOlure has been designing its baits right here in Florida since 1937. Today, they continue the tradition by field testing new products right in our own backyard. With the Buy 2 Get 1 Free coupon, you can stock your tackle box and be prepared to stuff some stockings. Turn on the bite!

Wading for the bite. Rod Salser chimed in with his fishing picture last week. Rod isn't afraid to make a fashion statement with his big, baggy, brown pants. Those waders keep him dry and warm now that the temperature is starting to drop. Brilliantly accented with a beautiful speckle trout, this outfit selection really melds the flashy contrast to the dull earthy tones. Hey, nice shirt, too! Rod pulls the ensemble together using FINS Windtamer. Without it, he might just be a guy walking around in the water wearing baggy brown pants. Looking good Rod! You’re our Mogan of the Week!

Thar she blows!
Having a seasonal lull between fishing shows, the Mogan Man has taken the opportunity to spend some of his free time stalking a different type of game. Capt. Blair emerged from the backwoods of Georgia this week to show off the 8-point buck he bagged. Now he's on his way to Morehead City, NC to christen a brand new Dick's Sporting Goods this weekend.

The Mogan Man is heading to North Carolina! AF has a strong fan base up there and we are inviting them all to come out to the grand opening of the new Dick's Sporting Goods at Crystal Coast Plaza. Come meet Capt. Blair Wiggins live and in person this Sunday 11:30 am – 4:30 pm. Capt. Blair will be signing autographs and handing out FREE stuff. Pick up valuable money saving coupons to use on your DSG purchase. The new W&M "Flats Blue" rods are just $89 with a coupon. See ya there!

Humminbird announced it has extended the Down Imaging line to include the 1158c, 958c and 858c DI Combo models. These incredibly powerful sonar units take the Side Imaging technology and point it straight down for a beautifully detailed image of the bottom. Combined with other features such as built-in mapping, precision GPS and Ethernet capabilities this makes these units very versatile. Check out the new Humminbird DI Combo models. You can't get a better look at the bottom without getting wet!

It's madness, I tell ya! Pick up the November issue of Coastal Angler Magazine for a Buy 2 Get 1 Free MirrOlure coupon from Dick's Sporting Goods. MirrOlure has been a long-time favorite of the Mogan Man with its broad line of baits that cover the full spectrum. From the surface walkers of the TopDog series and the MirrOdine and MirrOminnow in the Luminescence series, to the classic "go to" baits like the Catch 2000 or the 52MR. MirrOlures are designed and tested locally but have been proven across the globe. Turn on the bite!

Fishing in a sea of pins, you're bound to get stuck sooner or later. Sometimes it takes a tenacious angler like Sully Zagerman to fill the stomachs of a hundred pinfish before they let the hook find its mark. Sully's shrimp were getting' ate up by the pinfish. He tried switching it up by using the pinfish for bait but it was ultimately a live shrimp that landed his beautiful slot-size redfish. It's that kind of determination that makes Sully our Mogan of the Week.

Hey, Blair, gotta "buck" I can borrow?
The night of ghouls and goblins is over. Despite the efforts to empty the bowl of sugary temptations into the bags of trick-or-treaters, there's still a mountain of candy so high they may have to revise local topography maps. Pay no attention to that thump in the night; it's just Patrice bouncing off the walls. Now, if we could only sit still long enough to get some work done…

The buzz this week continues to be about the return of the Mogan Spoon. The word is spreading across the internet and anglers are chomping at the bit. Anticipation is building as everyone is trying to get their hands on the new spoons. We hear Dick's Sporting Goods has already placed an order. It won’t be long, now!

The Mogan Man is coming to Morehead City, NC! Dick's Sporting Goods is having its Grand Opening on Sunday, November 13th and Capt. Blair will be there to introduce the brand new AF Zone including his signature series Flats Blue rods by Wright & McGill. Blair will be signing autographs and handing out FREE stuff. Don't forget to grab your DSG coupon to save some cash on your purchase. We know we have some Mogan Maniacs in the Morehead area and we can't wait to see all of you at the new Dick's Grand Opening at Crystal Coast Plaza!

This week's Best Dressed Angler award goes to Eduardo Rumbos! This sharp dressed man is not afraid to show a little class in his attire when he goes out to pop a few peacock bass after working a long day at the office. For that, he is our Mogan of the Week. Eduardo, you look marvelous!

Quit your belly aching,
It was around this time, many years ago, the story of Prop Scar started circling through a small fishing town on the coast. The body of a redfish mangled by the propeller of a boat carelessly running too shallow was found floating near the launch. Since then, fishermen have mysteriously been disappearing on All Hallow's Eve. Their boats are eventually found anchored in place by their Minn Kota Talon and the propellers wrapped in a cocoon of FINS super braid. The only surviving eyewitness reported seeing a glowing, fiery orange apparition rise from the water around the same time one of the victims went missing. Some try to explain away the disappearances as freak accidents but the locals believe it is the curse of Prop Scar, the shamelessly murdered redfish, coming back from his shallow, watery grave to take revenge on anyone who dares to fish the flats during Halloween. Each year, anglers wash their boats with biodegradable Blair's Boat Wash by Star brite and hang up their DOA Lures and MirrOlures as a shrine to Prop Scar in hopes they will not become the next missing fisherman.

If that story wasn't spooky enough, check out some of the attractions going on this weekend on Florida's Space Coast. The Slater Brothers Invitational surfing competition brings a large crowd and plenty of things to do for spectators. There will be a block-party, music concerts, skate exhibition, volleyball tournament and more. The event runs all weekend and proceeds go to the World Skin Cancer Foundation. For the family, Brevard Zoo's Boo at the Zoo has trick or treating, the haunted trail, a witch’s lair and more. There's also Halloween in the Village and a Monster Mash Halloween Party. Florida's Space Coast has all of the spooktacular events on their web site. Be scared!

Another DSG is born! Last weekend, the Mogan Man christened the brand new Dick's Sporting Goods in Brunswick, GA. Many fans came out to meet Capt. Blair and check out the new store. Since he was in the area, Addictive Fishing shot their first show in Georgia with Capt. Scott Owens. It didn't take long for Scott to put the Mogan Man onto tailing redfish during the flood tide. There were so many fish that it made shooting this episode the fastest shoot in the history of Addictive Fishing. Capt. Owens' tricks were a real treat!

Aaron Eubanks sent us a picture of his jack-o-lantern this week and it caught our attention. It took us a while because we really couldn't put our finger on it, but there was something about this pumpkin that looked familiar. While working on some web stuff, we found the connection; Capt. Blair makes that same face when he gets tied into an "hour jack." Aaron, thanks for the picture of your "hour jack"-o-lantern, brother! That's our Mogan Squash of the Week.
Show us your squash! Wait… is that right? Are pumpkins squash or melons? Addictive Fishing wants to see your carved creations. This week, the Mogan Man is heading to Georgia for the Grand Opening of another Dick's Sporting Goods. The Mogan Maidens have taken over the gallery. And FINS has some new tricks that are going to be our treat.

Halloween is right around the corner and we've seen some very creative pumpkin carvings. We thought it would be fun to see how our fans are decorating their jack-o-lanterns. Post your pictures in the Mogan Lounge or on our FaceBook page. Your pumpkin might be picked for our special spooky Mogan Mail next week. Please do not grab photos off the web, we want to see YOUR squash.

We're calling out our Mogan Maniacs in the North Florida/Georgia area. If you're anywhere near Brunswick, GA this Sunday, make plans to stop in at the Grand Opening of the NEW Dick's Sporting Goods at Glynn Isles Market. Capt. Blair Wiggins will be signing autographs and showing off his signature series Flats Blue rods. He'll also have $10 off coupons to be used toward your purchase. The AF Zone is stocked full of DOA Lures, FINS situational lines and everything else you need to catch fish like a pro. Come hang out with the Mogan Man Oct 23rd 11 am – 4 pm at the newest Dick’s Sporting Goods.

More exciting Mogan Series news came out this week. FINS, the leading manufacturer of braided fishing line, is putting together a Mogan Series XS braid for Addictive Fishing. We can't go into detail just yet but stay tuned. Mr. Producer is creating a video masterpiece to showcase the new Mogan Series line. In the meantime, here's a clip of the Mogan Man talking about FINS XS. Braid in the U.S.A.!

The Mogan Maidens are taking over the gallery! This week, we've seen several ladies showing off some slobberknocker redfish. Don't worry… I had to look up that word, too. It's not dirty. But Mary Ellen and Cherlyn got their hands dirty when they caught a couple of keepers for dinner. These ladies used live shrimp to round up some redfish action. Special thanks to Ryan Strickland for sending us the picture. Ya'll are our Mogan (Maidens) of the Week.
AF fans across the country are watching the 2011 series on Sportsman Channel and they're eating it up! The full length episodes on the web are getting a lot of attention, too. News broke this week that the return of the Mogan Spoon is getting closer. All this news is making this reporter a little hungry.

Once upon a time, there was a little jewel that shimmered and shined as it danced in the sunlight underneath the water's surface. An epidemic of pierced lips quickly spread among our favorite sport fish as they would fight for position to be the next to be branded by the latest fashion. Teasing both predator and prey, the past few years have been hard for some to swallow. We are on the cusp of seeing the rebirth of the coveted Mogan Spoon. A lucky few were selected to view the packaged prototype at a recent fishing expo. Our longtime fan, CooKnFish, shed tears of joy when he saw the return of the Mogan Spoon and then came the tears of pain as we had to wrestle it away from him. Check out this video and get an idea of what to expect from the new TroKar Mogan Spoon. To be continued...

Dip into the 2011 season of Addictive Fishing on Sportsman Channel. Fans are getting a taste of Florida fishing this week as Capt. Blair joins Capt. Christian Yergens in Vero Beach as they search the flats for Mogan trout and redfish. Dish Network subscribers are getting a special treat. For the entire month of October, they can preview Sportsman Channel on channel 395. Tune in and turn it up! Next in the queue, "Sailfish Sound."

Brunswick, GA, get ready! The Dick's Sporting Goods Mogan Tour is coming your way in just a couple of weeks. Mark your calendars for Oct. 23rd so you don’t miss out on meeting the Mogan Man in person. He'll be at the Grand Opening of the new DSG from 11am – 4 pm signing autographs and giving out FREE stuff. Sign up for the Minn Kota/ Humminbird Giveaway while you're there. The store will be freshly stocked with lots of Flats Blue rods and FINS line as well as a full rack of Blair's favorite hooks and lures in the AF Zone. See ya there!

More than a mouthful? It might appear that Trenton Carr bit off more than he can chew, but this young angler in South Carolina makes it look like another day in the park. His 40-inch "pig" ate a live pogie. Awesome redfish, Trenton! That beast is the Mogan of the Week! Check out more photos or post your own on our Facebook page or log into the Mogan Lounge
What an awesome time at the fishing expo last weekend! We have a recap of the show and a full load of other stuff that’s going on around the office. Mote Marine is gearing up for a shindig, so gather up the youngsters! New shows are coming to a new audience this week and we aren't jokin'.

Let's help make this happen! Mote Marine is looking to raise funds to sponsor 40 under-served children to attend its upcoming Snook Shindig Teach-A-Kid Fishing Clinic on Saturday, October 15th @ Mote Agriculture Park (MAP). The goal is to raise $2,200 by October 2nd in order to make this happen. At last tally, they've raised about $1,400. To make your donation or to learn more about the event, visit GulfCoastGives.org. More volunteers are also needed to man different stations for the event and help eat some of the food being provided. If you’re interested in volunteering, email redfishlab@mote.org or leave a message @ 941-388-4441 extn 303. Make an investment for the future.

The Florida Sportsman Show in Tampa was a huge success for Addictive Fishing. Located just inside the main entrance, the FINS/Addictive Fishing/Mogan Man booth stretched nearly the whole length of the front wall. Mr. Producer took Project Snook donations and handed out free Dick's Sporting Goods swag while Trice sold FINS like it was the only line on the market. Capt. Blair signed autographs, posed for pictures and swapped stories with kids of all ages. The Mogan Man clogged the aisles with attentive anglers as they gathered around the main stage to listen to Blair's seminar on inshore fishing. Judging by the size of the crowd, it was clear to see that most everyone at the show watches Addictive Fishing. We want to thank everyone for coming out to see us. You made our day!

Between seminars and autograph signings, Capt. Blair took a moment to draw the winner of Addictive Fishing's first YouTube contest and you can watch the drawing on the AF YouTube page. Congratulations ReelLengendFisherman! You won the Mogan Prize Pak worth over $300 which includes a Blair Wiggins signature series Flats Blue rod by Wright & McGill. We hope this prize pak helps you catch a Mogan!

Keep your eyes glued to the AF YouTube page. Season 12 just wrapped up on our local network, SunSports. Now it's time for the whole world to see! Starting this week, an episode from season 12 will be uploaded to YouTube each Monday for your viewing pleasure. The shows will also be aired on Sportsman Channel Mondays @ 3 am ET, Wednesdays @ 4 pm ET and Saturdays @ 8:30 pm ET & PT. Get your fix of Addictive Fishing on your tube and on YouTube!

Have you seen the Mogans being caught lately? Take a peek in the Mogan Lounge because there are too many to plaster in this edition of Mogan Mail. We want to thank everyone for keeping those of us who have not been fishing lately fully enticed with your photos. Honorable mentions are in order – when I call your name, please stand and be recognized. Colby Hough shows off his technique of free-lining pinfish for reds in the creeks. Steve Gross uses cut bait to pull the redfish in. Andrew Lee has no trouble doing what he does to find redfish. Way to go guys! This week’s photo is a drum of another color. Drum roll, please…. Bill Howard's beautiful picture of a "big ugly" is our Mogan of the Week!
