This weekend you may be able to stock up on that Bauer Los Angeles servingware or jardiniere you’ve been eyeing.  The showroom at 3051 Rosslyn Street will open its doors for eager pottery shoppers looking to score a treat or two.

I would LOVE to get a hold of a Bauer oil jug or add to my nesting bowl collection.  Anything Bauer you’d love to find?

This weekend, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, Bob Hope’s Toluca Lake home will offer to the public some of the family’s possessions in preparation for the estate’s eventual sale.  Hope, who died in 2003, followed by his wife in 2011, claimed this as his family’s home.  Although additional furniture and artwork will be auctioned off next year, this is an opportunity to glimpse the life of one of Hollywood’s legends, and perhaps take a little piece of that history home.

For the architecture-minded among us, the AIA has a Fall home tour treat.  Scattered amongst four locales, West Hollywood, Brentwood, Doheny/Sunset, and the Pacific Palisades, you can purchase tickets to this one day only “Four Exclusive Zip Codes Tour”.  Homes by designers Richard Berliner, Peter Grueneisen, and Barton Phelps will be featured.  This self-driven, self-guided tour will have docents and members of the design team as schedules permit to answer questions and provide some additional information on each structure.

Up until now I knew Yellow Owl Workshop for their irresistible stamp sets. I love their wood blockprint feel mixed with iconic images of far flung places like Paris and London.  Now the San Francisco-based company has debuted a new line of pendants which is a great complement to the ink and paper brand.

It’s good for me to take time and reflect on what things mean to me.  In this case, I spent part of the time thinking about this blog.  Adella Avenue is my way of sharing my love of California as both a place and as an idea.  Writing on its architecture, fashion, design, or the talented people that fuel its creative maelstrom, is my way of perpetuating the dream and sharing that unique perspective with others.

For the many who have continued to come back again and again, I hope, in some way, its been just that.  A way to bring just a little slice of West Coast inspiration to your day.  I have loved the support and many comments of my readers.  Keep tuning in.  There’s lots more to come.
