Hello World,

Welcome to another summer! Another school year has ended, and another time begins. I would like to share my thoughts on graduation, the future, and the past. Also, I had the honor of delivering a Commencement Speech for the Class of 2014 at SUMMA Stoller, and I have put a video of my speech below. I encourage you to watch the video and share it with your friends; it may help you find the words you are looking for. I hope it encourages you all who have graduated and are going to a brand new world, and those of you who may need inspiration for writing your own Commencement Speech one day.

Graduation. To me, graduation means more than just completing a class. It’s growing. It’s changing. And it also means starting over our journey at the bottom of the food chain in high school. However, perhaps the most important thing about graduation, is that there will always be more. No matter what you remember of the past, and how far forward you look into the future, there will be more. In fact, this is the most important thing I want you to take away from this post. More. This is what makes our lives special. All of the little memories are what make life so intricate and so important. Whether it was good moments with friends, family, or teachers, I want you to keep these moments with you for life. No matter how small or how big, these memories are important. That smile, those tears, and these hugs are the things that make us who we are. These defining moments will stay at your core with you for life. All we can do now is live these moments and strive to leave our mark on each and everyone.

Yes, you will be leaving your friends. Yes, you will be going your separate way. Yes, it is unlikely everyone will be together ever again. But this is the journey of life and is what made your elementary, middle, high, or even college schooling experience special. What is life? My two-cents, is that life is a prank. Yes, a prank! Life is always surprising, sometimes funny, sometimes annoying, sometimes rude, sometimes amazing, and sometimes sad. But it is life, and it will happen. The best we can do is keep moving forward and keep looking back.

Fellow graduate or soon-to-be graduate, I congratulate and thank you for everything you have done so far and what you are sure to do in the future.

Below is my Commencement Graduation Speech for Class of 2014:

1. Turn on the GPSs
2. Type the cache's coordinates and check the CacheThat! checkbox
3. Turn until the arrows match up and go straight in the direction of N

That's it. You're done!

For more advanced users, here are the detailed instructions and Frequently Asked Questions...

Advanced Instructions:
1. Turn on your phone's GPS and check the GPS On checkbox.
2. Wait until your current information is correctly displayed.
3. Input the longitude and latitude of the destination cache in the two text-boxes.
4. Alternatively, you can get longitude and latitude of nearby caches by clicking the Nearby Caches button. Then copy and paste the longitude and latitude of the destination cache from the website that opens and paste it in the longitude and latitude text-boxes (data required)
5. When done inputting your target, check the CacheThat! checkbox and scroll up to the compass.
6. Match up the red arrow and the Green arrow by turning around.
7. Use accessible paths to go in the direction until the Distance left to Travel in km gets close to 0.
8. Search for the cache in the nearby area.
9. Congrats! You found it!
10. Log your find by pressing the Log Found Cache Online button and selecting the cache you found (Data required)

FAQ:
Q: I put in the latitude and longitude like this: 45 degrees N and 122 degrees W and it didn't work.
A: CacheThat! currently only supports signed values that use + and - such as 45.6 and -122.9
Q: I checked the box that said GPS On but it didn't find my GPS.
A: Make sure your phone's GPS and the one in the app are BOTH on.
Q: The compass is incorrect.
A: Turn all the way around 5 times to re-calibrate the compass. If this doesn't work, move away from any magnetic fields nearby.
Q: How do I know how accurate the GPS is right now?
A: In the Current Location category, the accuracy is displayed in meters.
Q: What are the red and green arrows?
A: The red arrow shows the current direction you are pointed in (N, W, S, E) and the green arrow shows the direction you need to go in to find the cache.
Q: What does the system status stuff do?
A: Nothing, it just shows whether your GPS was working when you checked the GPS On checkbox and where your GPS is being provide from (WiFi, Data, GPS Network etc)
Q: What does track angle from north mean?
A: It shows the direction you need to go in degrees (North is 315 to 45 degrees, East is 45 degrees to 135 degrees etc)
Q: What does the number and direction beneath the compass mean?
A: It shows what direction you are currently pointing in, in degrees and as a direction.
Q: This drains my battery life quickly, what should I do?
A: You can change the amount of time before it refreshes your location. You must input the time in seconds and then press submit. Warning, this may make it harder to quickly geocache
Q: Is there anyway I can save the beginning location so I can get back to the start?
A: Yes there is. Before entering your target location, press save current. Later on, press the Recall button to automatically get coordinates for the start of the hike.

In the month of October, 2012, I joined a Speech Club and we are following Toastmaster curriculum. So far, it has been a great experience. For Speech #7, Research Your Topic, I did an informational speech on How Biofuel is Taking Flight, Literally. I hope this gives you information as well as help and tips on how to make your own speech. Enjoy! Here is my Two Minute Speech:

We have all heard of biofuel and how it will be the fuel of the the future as it is cleaner than fossil fuels and, unlike fossil fuels, we have a virtually unlimited amount of it but really, only 0.5% of people in America actually use biofuel in their vehicles and it isn’t pure biofuel, but a blend. But now, biofuel is taking flight, literally! On October 29th, 2012 the first 100% pure biofuel airplane has taken flight and flew for 90 minutes. The plane is called the “Dassault Falcon 20” and it is the first plane to run on pure 100% biofuel. The Dassault Falcon 20 twin engine jet took off from the Canadian capital Ottawa last month to test the new jet fuel for engine performance and emissions, aiming to make sky journeys less polluting. Several engineers were on board, monitoring the engines' performance and fuel burn, making a round trip to Montreal and back. Two companies—Applied Research Associates and Agrisoma Biosciences—have partnered with the National Research Council of Canada (NRC) to develop a "sustainable source of renewable energy" for the commercial airline industry. While the Falcon was flying, a second aircraft, a Canadair CT-133 jet tailed the Falcon's October 29 flight, collecting emissions data from the lead plane's engines for analysis. The Dassault runs on a mustard biofuel which, according to “The Bio-Energy Site.com”, is made of two key ingredients which are variants of mustard seeds: Ida Gold and Pacific Gold. That’s what’s great about biofuel: it uses materials that we can keep growing and we won’t run out of. It is also cleaner which means it does less damage to the environment and has less emissions. The flight is also raising hopes for farmers whose mustard oilseed plants could be used for fuel. This is just the beginning as more and more ways are being created to increase the amount of energy biofuel produces and raise awareness to the public. The Dassault Falcon 20 also shows that biofuel can definitely be used in the future, and who knows, maybe someday we’ll be pumping some vegetable oil and mustard oil in our car. Thank You...

Hope this helped and make sure to comment and tell your friends. For Speech #6, Vocal Variety, I did an informational speech on The Secret World of Geo-caching I hope this gives you information on the game as well as help and tips on how to make your own speech. Enjoy! Here is my Two Minute Speech:

Everyone enjoys a good ol’ game of Hide and Seek. Finding the best hiding spot, counting all the way to 10 and looking for your hidden friends have always been the fundamentals of this classic game. But now, a Group of Adventurers have taken it to a new level. How is this even possible? One word: Geocaching. Geocaching is a worldwide game which millions of people play. It’s like a sort of high-tech hide and seek treasure hunt hybrid. The goal of the game is to go around the world and find certain “geocaches”, capsules which contain a logbook, which other geocachers have hidden. All you need is a pen, a good eye, and a GPS Unit or a Smartphone. On the geocaching website, you can find the location, the difficulty level, and whether or not there is a trinket inside that you can trade with. You can also find information on what type of cache, whether or not there is a trackable, that you can track online, and other information about what the geocache looks like and where it was hidden. This is a great game that allows you to have fun with family, get exercise, and yes, it’s really Adventure Time. Geocaching is a hidden world unknown by muggles, nope not non-wizards but non-geocachers. Geocaches can be any size and the real treasure is not what’s inside one of these, but that you found it. Another cool aspect of this game is the CITO (Cache In Trash Out) version. In this environmental version, you go around with a trash bag cleaning up while you find a cache. May not sound like fun, but whenever you’re with friends, it’s hard not to have fun ;) This game is capturing minds worldwide and makes for a great time with friends and family. I don’t know about you, but I am definitely part of the Geocaching movement and if you are interested, go to geocaching.com to get started. Make sure to tell them AJWizkid referred you. Ready or not, here I come. Thank you...
Hope this helped and make sure to join the secret world of geocaching...

In the month of October, 2012, I joined a Speech Club and we are following Toastmaster curriculum. So far, it has been a great experience. For Speech #5,Our Body Speaks, I did an informational speech on Drive Suits. I hope this gives you information on the product as well as help on how to make your own speech. Enjoy! Here is my Two Minute Speech:

Drive Suits: Transform from a real car back into a human!

As kids, we have always pretend played with our toy cars. Sometimes the cars would be race cars traveling at 500 mph, other times they could be space shuttles or even airplanes. I have always wondered: Why can’t this happen in real life, where we could run as fast as cars, or maybe even transform into cars like in one of my favorite movies: Transformers? Well I’m glad that the inventor Drew Beaumier has thought exactly like this and made this fantasy possible with his new invention: Drive Suits.

Drive Suits Transformers

Drive Suits are real-life Transformer costumes which allow you to transform from a real car, into a human, just like Optimus Prime! The suits are made out of recycled toys and because of this, you can make just about any type of vehicle with a 50 hour build time. Maybe I’ll just leave this part to my little brother ;) The suit includes a helmet and motor equipped drive boots which allows you to “zoom around” at the speed of 10-15 mph! The Drive Boots on your knees allows you to skate around with great control and to stop, all you have to do, is stand up. Drew made his first transformer about 4 years ago and has been featured in many competitions and shows. Over the years, he received so many requests for the suits, that he decided to sell them! Right now, he has to custom build each one and they are available for the slightly taxing cost of 1,800 dollars. With the help of investors from the TV show Shark Tank though, the suits may be able to come for a bit more reasonable price.

The Transformers fans now have more reasons to rejoice and the anticipation of the next sequel may not hinder you from reliving the experience after all. Well, It looks like The Transformers are definitely already among us. Thank you...

Well, Google has granted your wishes NOW with Google’s new product Google Now. This revolutionary product is available on every Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) device. Google Now is such a big innovation that Popular Science has rated it Innovation of the Year. In this speech, I’ll be telling you more about what Google Now does, how it will affect you, and how it could affect the future of smartphones. Let’s see some more information about this revolutionary product NOW. When you get a new Google Smartphone, and fire up the ol’ Google Search app, suddenly there is a new feature asking you if you want to enable Google Now. Google already has your calendar, contacts what could one more feature be? When you accept, you have just walked into a whole new world where Google can read your mind. This is because Google Now anticipates your needs and does what you were just about to ask it... NOW! For example, say you are in a flight to Germany, as soon as you land your phone will have a notification “card” that will give you information on how to navigate to that hotel which you had booked from your email, translation, as well as public transits and it gives it to you right when you need it NOW. Another example for you sport lovers out there, Google Now can give you notifications on the newest game for your favorite sports team, without asking you what your favorite team is or when to give it to you! How on Earth can Google know all this? Well Google can track your web searches, calendar, as well as email to get the right info at the right time. Tests have been done, and Google trumps whether it’s Siri or S Voice in speed and accuracy. This creates a whole new era where your phone knows what you want before you know and can bring you the information right when you need it. This new Google product is sure to change our life and to bring more competitors to live up to Google’s high set standards, N... maybe not Now but soon... Thank you

Specs Comparison: Android's Samsung Galaxy S3 (SIII) vs Apple's iPhone 5

Apple has been called the newest, the coolest, and the hippest, but one of the questions I’ve always had is: Who took the bite out of the Apple? Today I will tell you more about Apple and Android’s newest smartphones and at the end, I hope you realize the many reasons why Android’s Samsung Galaxy s3 is better than the iPhone 5. Apple recently unveiled the new iPhone 5 and many users have bought it as soon as it came out, thoroughly convinced by Tim Cook that “The iPhone 5 is the biggest thing since the iPhone” and a bit before that, Samsung released the Galaxy s3. I will be comparing the most important things about these two flagship phones. Let’s start with looks. Both smartphones have grown a bit with the iPhone 5 at 4 in and the Samsung Galaxy s3 at 4.8 in. The Galaxy is huge but it still fits the hand and feels better than the iPhone’s square design. Apple has always bragged about their thickness, and the iPhone is still smaller than the s3, but only by a hair at 4 hundredths of an inch smaller. Now to the screen. Samsung has gotten something new: Super AMOLED. For those of you who don’t know what this is, it is a souped up version of the LCD that allows the deepest blacks. Samsung also has a better resolution than the iPhone at 1280 by 720! That’s the same resolution used on most computers! Let’s talk hardware where both companies are speed, speed, and did I mention speed. Apple’s processor is definitely fast, but once again the s3 trumps the iPhone with a 1.5 ghz dual-core processor. For those of you who don’t speak tech, it basically means you won’t be waiting for stuff to load even in demanding apps such as Netflix and Pandora. Both phones also sport an 8 megapixel back camera with 1080p video recording. Apple’s front camera is 1.2 megapixel while the Android has 1.9. Looks like Android trumped again. Both phones have some fun photo editing features and now, finally, the iPhone 5 has panaroma. The Android does a better job as you can make fun, crazy looking photos. Apple has also recently added a new “Lightning charger” that comes with your phone, but then again if you want to connect it to any of your old products, you need to buy a new charger. That’s true Apple fashion. Also, the new Apple Maps definitely has a lot of issues including giving some bogus directions, location not found errors, as well as some funny glitches including making the Sears tower smaller than the other towers in the city! The OS is the main difference in the phones. For those of you who live in the Google ecosystem and regularly use Gmail, Google plus, and other Google systems, you will find that the s3 enhances these products and includes a bunch of other neat features that fandroids love such as NFC also called Android Beam which lets you bump another device to instantly share files. One feature that Apple fans have always bragged about is the witty Siri. It works most of the time with minor glitches, but Google is bringing a new feature to the table: Google Now. It is a good voice command system and Siri is neck to neck with it. As you can see, Apple and Android’s new phones the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy s3 are huge competition and both have their cool features, but hopefully you can see that the s3 trumps the iPhone 5 in every way and replaced the iPhone at the top of the food chain. I hope you now see that the Droid definitely took a huge bite out of Apple... Thank you

Here is the trimmed down version:

The Galaxy is great for games and still fits the hand as it is curved instead of square. Apple has always bragged about their thickness, and the iPhone is still thinner than the s3, but only by a hair at 4 hundredths of an inch smaller. Now with the screen, Samsung has better resolution than the iPhone at 1280 by 720! About cameras, Apple’s front camera is only 1.2 megapixel while the Android has 1.9 which makes it great for Google Hangouts. Also, The iPhone just got panoramic features. Android has had it for a while. While Apple’s “Lightning charger” requires you to buy a new one when you want to connect to other devices, Android’s microUSB connects with all. Even the new Apple Maps is buggy with some funny glitches including making the Sears Tower smaller than the other towers in the city! The OS is the main difference in the phones. For those of you who live in the Google ecosystem, most of you, you will find that the s3 enhances Google products and makes it user-friendly. Hello World!

I have recently joined a Speech Club that follows Toast Masters format and so far, it is a great experience. For my second speech topic, Organizing your Speech, I did it on Hurricane Sandy. For those of you who don't know what this is and how important and devastating it has been, Read on!

Hurricane Sandy on Oct. 29, 2012

On October 29, 2012, Mrs. Sandy has been going into people’s homes flooding them, knocking over trees, taking down electricity poles and destroying property and is hitting the United States with no signs of stopping. Oh wait, did I mention that this is no friend of Spongebob, but a hurricane! Hurricane Sandy went in a Northeast direction from the Atlantic Ocean and attacked the East Coast, affecting North Carolina, Virginia, and New York. This is no small matter, as the Governor of New Jersey declared an emergency state and New York was completely shut down. Other states had also panicked including Massachusetts and Rhode Island. With the elections going on, this gives the Candidates a perfect chance to combine weather with politics especially since the storm hit Virginia, a hot “political battleground” for the candidates. It is also affecting early voting. It even cancelled their campaigning trips as safety is the number one priority. Everyone agrees though, that preparations needed to account for the worst. Hurricane Sandy is definitely a big Category 1 with speeds at 75 mph. However, the biggest threat to the World involves how the hurricane collided with a cold front from the West, creating a "super storm" that caused 154 casualties and caused lots of property damage. The bad news is that it’s slow speed is causing four - five day periods of attacking. I think Halloween was spooky enough as it was! The even worse news, though nobody needs anymore, is that Sandy hit during a full moon and this caused ocean tides to SOAR! The Hurricane has often been compared to the 1991 “Perfect Storm” though Sandy has an irregular curved path while most other hurricanes have gone straight upwards from South to North. The implications of this is that it will bring the water with it to push against the shore and with the full moon all I can say is Hurry! Can you run out of your home? Sandy has already hit the capital of Dominican Republic and houses there have flooded. With a 50 billion dollar damage tag and millions of people without power, Sandy has definitely devastated us. It’s has been a long, long week with Hurricane Sandy, a Category 1 Hurricane attacking the East Coast. Hurricanes like Sandy kill many every year, are unpredictable, and we definitely need to prepare for them. I just wish the Frankenstorm ended with Frankenstein.

That's all for now. Good luck East Coast!
Hello World,

Augmented reality is coming at us fast and now you can try out some Augmented Reality for yourself! If any of you read the Popular Science Magazines you can now view some of the pictures in it with some Augmented Reality! What is Augmented Reality you ask? Augmented Reality is a technology that superimposes a computer-generated image on a user's view of the real world, thus providing a composite view. Basically, you can take something from the real world, say your favorite book's cover, and if someone looks at it, they will suddenly see a computer image/ video on top of it that can give more info on the book to a movie rating of the book! This is an amazing technology and is sure to become popular in the future,

Now the important question is How? Here is a step by step guide on what you need to do:

1. Get an iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad

2. Download the PopSci Interactive application. Don't worry, it's free!

3. Open it up...
You might be thinking "This is great and all, but how does this help me?" That's a great question! The coolest thing about this is that you can create your own augments right off the app! That got you reading :) Aurasma calls this an "Aura". All you have to do is click on the Video Camera Icon and follow the simple step by step instructions. Just make sure to watch the red, yellow, and green bar and make sure it goes into the yellow or green for the best effects. This is great and can take normal world objects like a book into videos or pictures!:

This is really amazing technology and it is sure to be used in the future. I think the folks at Google should implement this technology in Google Goggles. What is Google Goggles? You can read my post all about Google Goggles: Project Glass.

Another potential question is "Can humans adapt to use Augmented Reality technology in their everyday lives?" Augmented Reality can be the most amazing thing in our lives but is it really safe? Think about it, you are driving your car and you see the Washington Monument, suddenly a million Augmented pictures and videos take up your entire windshield! Before this sort of life changing technology can be implemented, solutions to such problems need to be solved. One way to solve this is to limit the size of the Augment and there has to be a way to verify that you own some property or place. For example, the President could place a verification code on the Washington Monument and scan it so no one else can augment it.

Overall, I think that Augmented Reality is sure to be a very big part of our life soon and soon we will be able to adapt to such technology. I hope you have fun with this cool Augmented Reality app and remember to Follow AdityaWizkid.blogspot.com! I love your comments as well!
Hello World!

On August 20th, 2012 I went to hiking at Silver Falls with some friends. A great trail for hiking at Silver Falls is the Trail of Ten Falls. Silver Falls is a great scenic place and you will definitely enjoy the day there. Another great thing to do at Silver Falls is overnight camping. For more information you should visit my other post on Silver Falls Camping.

South Falls Lodge at Silver Falls

The Trail of Ten Falls is definitely the way to go if you want to be able to see all of the main falls at Silver Falls. This trail is 8.7 miles all the way around but from the North Falls to the South Falls it is about 4.5 miles plus a bit more if you want to see some of the other falls that come along the way. It is moderate difficulty. I would recommend starting at the South Falls (but the North is o.k as well) and head all the way up/ down to the North/ South Falls. This is a great way to go if you are pretty good at hiking and are hiking with family and friends. If you come with friends it is a good idea to park one car at the South Falls and another at North Falls so it will be easier to leave after 4.5 miles hike & you save 2.6 miles of return trip. Make sure to pack lots of water (About one bottle for every member) and snacks for the everyone, as they are sure to get tired. Here is a map of the Silver Falls State Park:

Another fun activity you might want to do at Silver Falls State Park is go swimming in the swimming pool! So don't forget to carry your swimming clothes. It is a great idea if you have little ones that are too little to go hiking or some elderly with you. Also, be sure to plan some fun time at the South Falls park area. Here you can play frisbee or enjoy some lunch. It is a nice view and also has picnic tables.

Along the Canyon Trail (also called the Trail of Ten Falls) I would definitely recommend taking some small detours to see some great extra falls. Here is a list of some great waterfalls you can stop at:

1. Lower South Falls- It has a breathtaking view and you can stand behind the falls! In heavy rain days you can probably also feel the water!

2. Drake Falls- You can go to the top of the falls via a bridge and can stand in the water. Be careful not to get pulled by the current and packing a towel will be helpful.

3. Double Falls- Great place to stop to refresh and cool off. You can even take a shower ;) My learning: DO NOT step on the circular rocks...

4. Upper North Falls- A nice ending place if you took the South to North passage (I reccomend this way) and the only place out of all the falls in which you can actually swim! Make sure to bring swimming trunks and if you come with family, the kids are definitely going to want to go in. Also, there is a sort of secret passage way to get very close to the falls with out getting wet... much. Keep walking backwards on stones until you see some very fast moving water. Hop across and walk through the bruch and climb over the tall logs. Now just walk across holding on to the wall and watch your friend's amazement and bafflement!

5. Another water fall that you might want to stop at is Winter Falls. This depends on the season and if you are up to it. It is a long, long, long way down and is really not worth it in the Summer but in Winter, it freezes and 10 ft icicles will be dropping. It is very strainious to get back up!

There are also some points in the trail that run right next to the river and you might see some passages to go right next to it but be on the look out for snakes!

Silver Falls is a great get together and a nice way to spend the day with family and friends. The views here are amazing and is something you will remember for a long time, I know I will. You should definitely think about it on your next outing.

Hello Fans

I have not been blogging for a while now because I have been really tired and exhausted. But now I am refreshed and ready to go! A lot has happened In the last couple of days. The family fun center/hotel was really nice and they even had a free arcade! If you decide to come to Canada this would be another nice place to stay. After we left we decided to explore the Upper Village and found an amusement park! There were bun-jee trampolines, ski lifts, a water coaster, and a lot more. There was also a chess board and I took a picture of my royal family. We stopped and my dad asked if he could see my brother's wiggling tooth, which my brother had been complaining about for a long time. Then in one fluid gesture he pulled it out! My brother was not expecting that and it really hurt him! We had to find a bathroom to get water to stop the bleeding. Soon though, he was pretty happy. If you have been reading my recent posts, you know that we will be going to the gondola on Sunday when we come back to Whistler. After checking out of our room we got back on the road and we were heading to Vancouver. On the way I was reading my two books: The Lab and Mockingjay but soon I decided to stop and look at the interesting sights. Some interesting tourist locations we stopped at were the Lynn Suspension Bridge, and a beach. We stopped at the shore and looked at the sort of beach. It looked really nice and pleasant. Later we stopped again to look at the Lynn Suspension Bridge. This is a narrow bride which was on top of a canyon! At the base of the canyon was a waterfall. It was a real breathtaking experience and I even stopped along the way to take pictures (which really scared me). After this we had to go back and the only way back was across the bridge! The second time was a lot easier though. After the trip was over we headed to our new hotel in Richmond. Our hotel is the La Quinta and it is pretty nice. After exploring we found that parts of the city are modeled like parts of the world! One part looked like it came right out of China with all of the Chinese shops. Then we came to Mini Punjab and my parents were reminded of their home in India. We ate at an Indian restaurant called "All India Sweets and Restaurant". The food was pretty good and we headed back to our hotel to sleep. I read my book for a while and eventually fell asleep. When I woke up we went down stairs to the breakfast bar and ate a large breakfast. We came back to our room and are right now resting before we take a long car ride around Vancouver.

We are back from the ride. It was really great and we saw some interesting places. Our ride was around the coast so there were some great views and tourist locations. We stopped at the coast and looked at the beach. We kept on driving and even saw a big fair going on in the middle of the streets. It reminded me of the fair that happens at the Bethany fountain each year. We stopped at various parks of different types like woodland parks and even a water park! Too bad we did not bring water clothes :( One park we stopped at was the Stanley Park but it was really a sort of town surrounded by greenland. The only thing it was missing was houses! In Stanley "Park" we stopped at an aquarium. My brother loved the penguins (he also loves Club Penguin and we are making a CP blog. Check it out!) and after a while we decided to "Waddle on"!

Later on we stopped again at Granville. This is a really nice place for souvenirs and the views of the coast as well as boats you can rent to go on the water! There was a really nice HUGE shop for kids with many many items to buy as well as face paints. My favorite shop would have to be the Magic and Tricks shop. They gave some cool demos on "Disappearing Ink" as well as "Shooting Mustard Squeeze Bottles"! They gave great reactions on my brother and mom! ;) After this we left...

Yeah!!! Finally time to go to the gondola! We look outside for the great weather and what?! It's raining! Our plan of going to the gondola is washed down the drain. My parents agree that we will definitely come back to Whistler in the future :..( We get a goodnight's sleep and in the morning we start the 6 hour drive back to the USA. Along the way we stopped at a Olympics Center where the Olympics were actually held. Here they have ranges for shooting, shot put and other Olympic Sports. It's pretty cool. We stopped again at a cool picture spot from really high up and from down low. My brother pretends to lift up a bridge! We stop again at a nice shore called the Provincial Marine Park and take some pics of the bridge and the towers there. When we reach home I take a nice rest and recount all of Canada. Overall Canada is a great place for tourists and I would recommend going there if you ever decide to take a vacation.

Here are all of my pictures of Canada. Can't wait to come back and go on the gondola (My parents owe me that :)
Hello World!

Today I was waken up by my iPod alarm at 8:30 but I was still sleepy. Eventually I got up and we took another stroll around the village and eventually we got to the gondola again. My brother really wanted to go and eventually my dad had to agree! We checked out of our hotel and were heading out when suddenly it started raining! We looked at the weather forecast and saw that it will be clear in Sunday. Our new plan is to come back on Sunday and spend the entire day on the gondola. My dad has headed to drop our stuff and when he gets back we will all go and explore a family fun center. They will send a car in a bit. Right now my brother is really bored. I'm going to surprise him with a picture. Here is his picture and the other ones of our day... Stay tuned in
And we're back folks! I'm back at my hotel room and really ready to relax now! I'm pretty tired from our walk all around the village. Tomorrow in the evening we will leave to go to our next destination: Vancouver! Today I head lots of fun as we looked at all the different places to eat like the Old Spaghetti Factory and the many many others. We also looked at the Bun-her jump station but even though I know it will be safe it still seams really freaky. The most exciting part in the touring would have to be the Olympics area with the park and all of the attractions. After walking along various paths it feels like every place in Canada is a picture perfect moment. I really love the entire scheme of colors and designs. Right now we are headed for a night time stroll and I am in the lobby. Here we go again...
Finally! The quest to the legendary Mc Donald's is over! Right now I am sitting in Mc Donald's. At 9:10 my dad said we should take a look at the city at dark and after a while my brother got hungry. We looked around the village and the lights and designs really changed the look of the entire village. The village is actually quite confusing at night and so we had to go to a great search to Mc Donald's. At one point I stopped everybody because I had gotten a faint wifi bar. I used it to get a map and we were able to get within 1 block of it. Thank goodness for wi-fi! There we stopped and asked for directions. Right now we are going to head back to the hotel for a relaxing rest. I might also read more Mockingjay. Not many pictures here...

Hello world,

If you have been reading my posts you know that I am live blogging from Canada. I was woken up at 4 am and have been in a car to get to Whistler, Canada. The trip took approximately 8 hrs to get here. This is the first time I got wifi in the whole day. If you are thinking about where to stay in Whistler, one good choice is The Crystal. This hotel is pretty nice because it is in the heart of Whistler Village- you might remember that the 2010 Winter Olympics were held here- and you can get to the hotel from almost anywhere. This is where I am staying. I have a great view and the village here is very convenient and friendly. Our room looks really good. When we got here, we went on a trail and it is great if you like views and want to see the outdoors in Whistler. The trail is called the "Lost Lake Trail" and so far I am loving Canada. The trail took us to the Lost Lake but the "lake" was more like a perfect beach! I got to relax a bit in the water and then we headed off. I also learned some wacky words for Canadian currency: 1 canadian dollar is a "looney" and 2 dollars is a "toony"! It is actually a bit over perfect temperature and the exercise has been better than sitting in the car reading Mockingjay. Today we are also planning to look around at where the Olympics were being held, find out more about bun-jee jumping and Gondola lifts, and at the end, chillax in our room. Looks like we are heading out again! Here are some pics of my adventures so far. Stay Tuned in...
 Hello Everyone!

On July 8th I went to an amazing Summer Camp at the scenic Camp Baldwin. Camp Baldwin is really far from any major cities (110 miles) as it is near Mt. Hood, and is extremely high at an altitude of about 3,600 ft! At camp, we only had a limited amount of supplies and no electricity. Through the week I jumped in a lake fully clothed, navigated at night with only a tiny map and without a flashlight, and even had time to learn about erosion! Here's the full story of my adventures at Camp Baldwin...

Camp Baldwin is just around the corner...

Before going as the PL of my patrol I decided to have some Matrix Monsters patrol meetings. Here we made our flag (which looks pretty awesome if I do say so myself) and duty roster. A duty roster is a sort of schedule which showed who would be doing what job what day and what which meal. I worked especially hard to make it fair. Then the day before going I had to start one of the hardest parts of the entire trip: packing :o First I got my 10 essentials (Water bottle, compass, snacks, poncho, first-aid kit, pocket knife, sunscreen, bug spray, matches, and rope). I also packed my sleeping bag, extra clothing, tarp, pillow, swim clothes, and towel. After I neatly packed all of this I confidently put it on and... stumbled from the weight! Then I found out that the parking lot was going to be half a mile away from our tent grounds! I decided that I was just going to have to grit my teeth and get ready for the long ride.

Finally, the day for camp came and I was extremely excited while sad that I would not see my Mom and Brother for a week :( Good thing my Dad was coming with me. After some group pictures, we were off to Camp Baldwin for a week of adventure and fun (Cue Indiana Jones Music). My friend Arjun and I went together and talked about what we had done after summer vacation started. (2 hours later) Before we knew it, we were at camp. After a couple minutes we heard an earthquake but wait, this wasn't an earthquake. This was the Camp Baldwin Staff riding on horses and running by them to come and greet us. Boy were they enthusiastic! After a couple minutes of introducing ourselves we picked up our packs and hiked in. They showed us the different sites like Camp Craft, the lake, the Nature Center and after a while I was really tired of wearing my pack so my Dad and I made a bit *cough* of an unfair trade off (hey that's what dads are for, right?)

Buddy Tags at Camp Baldwin

When we reached the meeting place we also find out which campsite we would be staying in and the Matrix Monsters, along with a couple other patrols, got Snowshoe Flats next to Skyloo. Soon it was time to take our Swim Test to make sure that we could withstand the water here. We changed into our swim clothes, handed our troop doctor our medical forms and went to the lake. At the lake we got our buddy tags. Buddy tags are circular pieces of cardboard with your name on it. If you are a swimmer, you get both colors filled in. I am a good swimmer but here the water was really cold and the high altitude was making it hard to breathe. We were supposed to jump in the water, shout "I love Camp Baldwin", and swim 4 laps with any front stroke (such as freestyle, breaststroke, sidestroke, butterfly etc.). Then we had to swim 1 lap elementary backstroke. It was hard but I was able to pass and get Swimmer on my Buddy Tag.
Later that day we got food from the staff and got to sign up for our merit badges. I chose a wide variety of merit badges which fill up my entire day My schedule was:
7:00-8:55: Flag and Breakfast 9:00: Camping 10:00: Swimming 11:00: Soil & Water Conservation 12-2:00: Lunch 2:00: Environmental Science 3:00: Fish and Wildlife with Mammal Studies 4:00: BSA Mile Swim Practice 5-6:00: Dinner and the rest of the day was free time. It got into a routine as everyday I would wake up at 7:00, get into my class A, go to flag, brush my teeth, cook and then eat breakfast and head on to my classes. I even got homework from my classes... scratch that camp work.

The second day of camp at nighttime we had campfire. It was really great with some nice repeat after me songs such as "Ravioli" and one really weird one called "Ready Positions". We also had some great skits like "The Handy-Dandy Quick Draw Machine" and "My First Summer Camp". We also went to the Chapel and listened to some prayers. I was really exhausted after this and I could not wait to go to my sleeping bag. When we were dismissed my patrol (GO MATRIX MONSTERS) and I got up and just started walking forward after the huge crowd of people.

It was a dark and not so stormy night

After a while I wondered why it was taking so long and then I looked at the uniforms of the people we were following. These weren't Troop 208 scouts, this was some other Troop! I stopped and looked around. We were at the Horse Stables! These were all the way on the other side of camp! I told the rest of my patrol what had happened and we quickly took out our tiny map key-chain. It was hard to see and I wished one of us had brought a flashlight. After a bit of orienteering we felt sure this was the right way and I really wished we were right because it was getting really dark... After a couple of minutes we reached one of the landmarks and stopped for a map check. Uh oh! We were headed in the the wrong direction! We quickly turned around and quickened our pace. Soon we reached an intersection and this time we were not wrong. We got closer to our camp site but now it was really dark and we were really confused. Suddenly we heard the voice of someone from our Troop! It was a group of people also trying to get back to camp. Together we were able to make it and when we reached camp we found out that they were just about to start a search party for us! After that I made sure always to have a flashlight with me at night.

1 way on how to inflate your pants

One day during my Swimming MB my instructor told me that tomorrow we would be jumping in with all of our clothes on. I thought "Ha Ha that's funny" and then he went on and told us to make sure we wear pants with our swim shorts underneath! He was actually serious! Soon class was over and I went on to Soil and Water Conservation but I was still thinking about jumping in the water and having to keep float while inflating our pants and shirts. The next day at 10:00 I came and the instructor told us we are supposed to pinch our shirts under our armpits and blow through our neck hole. Once we showed him that we can inflate our shirt we were supposed to take off our pants, tie the legs, and fill it with air bubbles. It all sounded really complicated and I was getting worried. I watched some other kids successfully do it and then it was my turn. The only way I would be able to get myself to do this was to jump. I closed my eyes and... jumped in! I immediately started treading water because the water was pretty deep and after a minute I had done it: my shirt had inflated! Now came the hard part: pull of my pants while keeping myself floating. Once again I was able to pull it off (get my pun?). It was heavy though and it took all of my effort to push it over my head to inflate it. Then I swam all the way across using my pants as a PFD: Personal Flotation Device. At the edge of the lake I re-inflated my pants and swam all the way back. I had done it! I was so happy. Just to make sure I asked my counselor if I had passed and he said yes! My dad took a picture of me. After this I got some time to relax before my next class...

Mile Swim Patch

Everyday at 4:00 I was also doing mile swim practice. On the first day we did 400 yards, 20 laps, and that day I was really nervous. It was my my first time swimming so far in this cold oxygen sucking lake water. At home I swim a lot and I am pretty confident I could swim a mile but at the lake it was quite hard. But I jumped in anyway and started swimming. The laps counted down in my head 19, 18, 17, 16 ,15, 14 ,13 12, 11, 10 I was half way there! With new courage I swam faster 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 Last lap 0! I had done it!I was extremely pleased and happy with myself. I felt like I could swim any distance. Then after swimming our instructor made us do push ups, sit ups, and lots of stretches. Now I was tired. The next day we swam 800 yards and again with perseverance I swam and swam and swam and soon I had done it again! Half a mile! Our swim instructor advised us to eat bananas because they have potassium in them.
On Wednesday my Dad had to leave and now I really felt sad because I had no one from my home here. I really missed my brother and my mom but the week went on. For Mile Swim on Wednesday we went, yes, 3/4 of a mile, 1200 yards. It was three times as tiring as the first day but I knew I could do it. It was all about perseverance. At the end of swimming our instructor gave us a special treat: BANANAS. He said tomorrow he would slow it down to 400 yards so that way we would not be sore for the big mile. On Thursday I obviously could do it so with the extra time our instructor made us do lots and lots of stretches. He also told us when we would be doing our mile but when I was scheduled to do the mile was during one of my classes so sadly I could not go :..(

Before I knew it it was Saturday and it was time to leave Camp Baldwin. The Camp Baldwin staff even gave all of Troop 208 key chains with Thank Yous because we did so much service at camp. I was feeling sad as well as happy because I was sad to leave the staff and all the fun but I could not wait to see my family again. In the morning we did a litter sweep of our campsite (Snowshoe Flats) and cleaned everything. We also had to pick up all of the supplies given to us by Camp Baldwin and take it to the kitchen. Then we cleaned the sump which had some rotted food from our cooking. A sump is like a drain where you dump in your dirty water. It was really gross. Then we packed up our packs and headed down with them on to flag. I was once again reminded how heavy my backpack was. We got breakfast provided staff and took a shortcut to get to the parking lot. We signed out got in our car and started the 2.5 hour drive home. When I got home I was greeted by my brother and reminded how annoying he is ;) I started wondering why I missed him. Boy it's great to be home...
That's the story of my entire week at Camp Baldwin. I really had a great time. Happy Camping! You will find a slideshow at the bottom of the page:
Is the Lotto Madness?!?

A neat way to look at your chances at striking gold in the lotto!
Choose Numbers Between 1 and 50 and Play...

<applet code="LottoMadnApplet.class" codebase="https://sites.google.com/site/legorobotek/javaapplets/" height="500" width="600">
Sorry, no dice! This requires an up-to-date java enabled browser. </applet>
--Created by Aditya Jain To use this neat app I created follow these steps:
First choose whether you want quick pick mode or personal choice. Quick pick chooses 6 random numbers from 1-50. Personal choice allows you to choose the numbers. After this, just press start and play the lottery! Also, did you know your chances of winning the lottery(1 in 11,441,344,000) are lower than being struck by lightning(1 in 576,000)?! This app will give you a bit of an idea on why :) Still think you might have a pretty good chance of winning irl? Did you know your chances of winning the lottery is roughly the same as getting struck by lightning in a submarine? Oh well, but hey, who knows....
Google Inc. is always coming with exciting new inventions - First there was the self-driving vehicle and now, Google Goggles: Project Glass! Though it sounds like the Android app, it isn’t. These Google Goggles are actually slick futuristic shades that will enable the user to be able to do everything they can with their current smart phone and more without, lifting a finger. Goggles will act like a display right in front of eyes.

The Goggles double up as cellphones allowing users to make calls and retrieve messages - Both calls and text. Armed with Google's Android Operating System (An operating system for cellphones such as Apple's OS), the goggles will tap 3G and 4G networks enabling users to surf the Internet via a small discreet screen situated on one side of the sunglasses lens. A GPS mapping capability will not only let the user know his/her location, but also, alert him/her about any buildings or areas of interest that may be close by as in Augmented Reality. And that's not all - A small camera that collects information and relays it to the side screen can also be used to take pictures. One of the coolest things is that they look like ordinary sunglasses and to switch screens you just tilt your head slightly! The goggles are voice-controlled and extremely accurate. Google Inc. has finally released a prototype for this long awaited device that has been kept in secret for so long.

Goggles Home Screen

I think that these goggles look like a very cool and slick thing to have, but maybe not so practical. For example, if a driver is wearing this, it could distract him from the road. It would also take a while to implement this in our society. It really depends on how willing people are to change. This device is also proof of our rapidly changing and improving technology of Augmented Reality in daily life. The smartphone took away the need of carrying a laptop with you, and now these goggles take away smart phones as well! It does seem like a great idea and would attract a lot of the younger market. It is a little hard to imagine wearing these everyday and every minute, but we may be able to adapt. It would also be great if Google made these goggles have actual lenses for the 64% of Americans who need/wear glasses. Overall, Project Glass looks like a fun idea, but may need to wait a while for humans to adapt to it.

                                                     Check it out below-

Google Goggles Project Glass

Thanks YouTube

Today I'm going to tell you how to connect your NXT to your Computer ( Windows!) via Bluetooth. This can be used for FLL and FTC competition programming, or just for fun. What you need to do is pair your device with the computer. The way you do this is...
First: Make sure your Bluetooth is on (on both the NXT and computer).
Second: on the Bluetooth Devices Window on the computer click "Add".
Third: The Bluetooth Device Wizard should open and check the box that says "My device is set up and ready to be found."
Fourth: Continue on with the set up and when the computer is done searching and gives you a list of devices (if it can't find anything, make sure your NXT bluetooth is visible and on while your computer is also visible) choose your NXT. Then it will ask you how you want to choose a pass key. My recommendation is to choose your own Pass Key and put in something easy to remember (example 1234 etc).
Fifth: Type in the same pass key on your NXT
Sixth: It should install your device and give you the COM ports (example COM 5)
Seventh: Tada! Your device is paired and ready to be used. It will still not be connected unless you have a program, such as LEGO MINDSTORMS Edu NXT, to use with the device.

NXTs are a really fun way to learn and pass the time and Bluetooth can make it all the more fun. See you Next Time! The project involved each team of students (2-3 in each team) being delegates of a chosen country in the United Nations.
In the MUN each country is supposed to write their own resolution about their problems. Then, all of the delegates from each country meet together with our teacher as the Chair (kind of like a Judge). The delegates then discuss their resolutions, politely-- yep no screaming or fighting allowed (bummer!). Well my country was, the land of spices, India.

I'll start with a little background information about the United Nations (UN). The UN is an international organization whose stated aims are facilitating cooperation in international law, international security, economic development, social progress, human rights, and achievement of world peace. The UN was founded in 1945 after World War II. Basically, the UN is a group that deals with member nations problems involving peace, security, law, economic development etc. UN contains multiple inner-organizations to carry out its missions such as UN General Assembly. Which has two sections: Permanent Member Nations (Veto Powers) and Non-permanent member nations. Veto Power countries have a power, that if even one of them Vetoes the resolution it is canceled. The General Assembly consists of 193 members but, of course we couldn't have all of them so we tried to get close at about 15 in our class. :-) In our class, all Veto powers had to agree to pass a resolution.

With all of this important info about UN and assuming my readers know about Kashmir Dispute Problem, I would finally like to present the honorable delegate of India (Me)'s resolution:
By: Aditya Jain-India-Kashmir Economical Problem

To The General Assembly,

India is alarmed that the dispute has been going on for over 5 decades. Kashmir belongs to India as per the International Laws of Accession. The United Nations has been unable and ineffective in creating a solution for this problem. Did you know that many incidences of violence have occurred in Kashmir over the duration of time?

Due to the ongoing violence, Kashmir has been destroyed economically. We want to remind all nations that the most sought out wool, cashmere, originally came from Kashmir. And for long time, Kashmir was the biggest exporter of cashmere in the world. We are stressing the fact that because of the violence in Kashmir, cashmere exports have declined drastically. Please note that 10,000 metric tons of cashmere are exported around the world. The UN should understand that 3,000 metric tons are sold from Mongolia and that Kashmir has put decreasing importance on the sale of cashmere wool. We are also noting that officials in Kashmir, are putting less emphasis on cashmere exports. Cashmere is a very valuable trade for helping Kashmir economic situation. The countries of the UN should realize that most countries are buying decreasing amounts of cashmere from Kashmir causing the economy to fall even more. Focusing on cashmere trade, International business community will help thwart violence to protect the trade. Most importantly, know that it is beneficial to all if cashmere is produced increasingly in Kashmir because nations across globe will get better cashmere, violence will start to dissipate, and the Kashmiris will be more happy, secure, and willing to stop the dispute altogether.

Our proposal is as follows:
1. The United Nations should subsidize the start up cost for a business that sells cashmere around the world from Kashmir.
2. We are Calling upon the Veto Power countries to provide incentive to other countries for buying from Kashmir & also providing incentive for investing in the trade business of cashmere from Kashmir.
3. India will provide increased security for the cashmere trades.
4. India is requesting that the United Nations should provide means of transportation, such as planes, for transporting cashmere goods around the world.

The point of my resolution was to try and solve the Kashmir economical problem. I tried to this with multiple steps. The first step was to create a new business that would sell cashmere and the UN would influence investors. The second step was making sure that there would be some incentive that would promote more sale of cashmere from Kashmir. The third step was to make sure that the Kashmiris goods would not be stolen or that the farmers be attacked by pirates. The final step was to make a way for Kashmir's cashmere to be transported worldwide. As you can see, this would create a thriving business of cashmere from Kashmir and would also be beneficial for all countries participating.

Maybe after reading about UN & resolution to Kashmir problem, you may try to apply for a job as a UN delegate ... I mean hey, who knows - you must be qualified after reading my post! This is Aditya Jain, Signing out, Remember to keep on reading all of my posts! :)
