It would be interested to know how e-Chamchas of PPP on their website gonna say about it. It seems they are more busy to dry up wet pants of their leaders who once again proved that democracy in Pakistan by such political leaders is not less lethal than dictatorship in Pakistan.

You are smart enough. Look around and then re-read this verse, you will find that this verse is just revealing reasons behind what we are facing today.

More relevent verses are given below. Its so frustrating that self-acclaimed Muslims hardly try to read up Quran with translation.

 But they turned away [refusing], so We sent upon them the flood of the dam, and We replaced their two [fields of] gardens with gardens of bitter fruit, tamarisks and something of sparse lote trees. Things were different at that time and now it’s changed. Now every one is running after Twitter which is a widely used micro-blogging tool which later was used as a marketing tool as well.

Few days back It came in my mind to make a similar bot for Twitter too. Luckily I did as well but for running such bot you need a scheduler/cron which can auto-tweet every second upon request. Due to my hosting limitation I could not set it up therefore I made changes and made it to run once in a day and tweet an ayah to the followers. I tested it yesterday and so far it’s working fine and now happily announce you to follow the following twitter ID:

When you will visit @thedailyquran on twitter, something like that will come up with the translation of some random verse of Quran

Since twitter only accepts only 140 chars,there are various verses which are more than 140 characters long,these verse are then tweeted in a little description and then a URL to read the entire verse. Bit.ly is being used for this purpose(If I get time I will publish technical details in my technical blog)

So here is a Ramadan gift for all Muslims or others who are addicted to twitter and wants to have tweets of Quranic verses daily. Let me tell you that this bot will tweet once a day any random ayah from Quran. The translation is authentic and checked by many. I am using Yousuf Ali’s translation which I used in MSN QURAN bot as well. So InshaAllah every morning you will be treated with an ayah on your twitter client.

When A decade back or so I found out that Koonday is nothing but bidat, on top of that it’s a ritual offered by Shias in the name of Hazrat Jafir Sadiq(RA).

In case you don’t know, Barelvism is very much “reformed” form of Shiaism that is,if you minus their basics belief like different creed,namaz style,cursing a group of Sahabas like Umar(RA),Ayesha(RA),Abu Sufyan(RA)’s family etc then you will find lots of similarities between them. Like Shias Barelvis also believes in stuff like Panjtan,calling “Imam” to Hazrat Jafar,Hussain Ibn-e-Ali etc and other things.

OK back to Koonday. The history or I say fairy tale of Koonday is quite interesting. I will tell you in a while but the date Shias celebrate Koonday is 22nd Rajab and this is the date of death of Hazrat Moawiyah(RA) too so in reality Shias celebrate the death of Moawaiyah in disguise of Koonday.

OK here is the interesting story which is promoted by Shias(new form of Rafidis). Shias call it Dastan-e-Ajeeb. No wonder the entire tale is ajeeb and weird.

There used to be a woodcutter living in Medina. Due to such hunger and hard ships the woodcutter decided to migrate somewhere else to get rid of the usual and continued hunger. He moved from the country to country but didn’t get the proper work so in another country he again started wood cutting but still he was unable to get suitable money to fulfill his family needs. Back at home her wife started job in the minister’s home as the cleaner so as to get rid of starvation. One day whole she was cleaning the yard Hazrat Ja’far Sadiq was passing by with his companions. He stopped and asked his companions that do you know the significance of 22nd o f Rajab the companions replied in negative. Hazrat Ja’far said in response that this as a very sacred date ,who so ever in trouble or distress should take bath on 22nd of Rajab and cook POOREES and fill Koondaas with those POOREES on my name. After dedicating them on my name he/she should pray with my source. His/her every trouble will be solved . If his/her problem remains unsolved then he/she can grab me on the Day of Judgment.

Upon hearing this, the wife of the wood cutter got happy and decided to follow the procedure as told by Hazrat Ja’far Sadiq. Later she did as was told by the Hazrat Ja’far. As she did it on 22nd of Rajab his husband who was abroad was cutting the woods suddenly his axe slipped and fell on ground. The falling of axe on ground created an unusual sound, which attracted the attention of the wood cutter as woodcutter checked the place he found it hollow. After digging the place he found the hidden splendid treasure. He took the treasure and returned home with a lot of money and treasure. The woodcutter made his castle adjacent to the castle of the minister who was the employer of the wife of the wood cutter. One day as the ministers wife went on roof top of her house and she saw the castle just adjacent to their castle she asked surprisingly asked her maiden that whom this castle belong to ? her maiden replied that it belongs to the wood cutters wife who worked in our palace and used to mop and clean our palace. The queen called the wife of wood cutter and asked her that how her husband got so much money & wealth. The wood cutters wife told her all of the story and about the 22nd Rajab Koondaas and said she got all of this due to Koondaas. The ministers wife made jokes of her and said her husband might be robbing the convoys so as he got so rich in a short time. Even on the assurance from the wood cutters wife she did not believe this and made jokes of her. The husband of her was the senior minister of the king. And was very close to the king . One of the minister was jealous form that senior minister because of his approach and resources in the cabinet.. Once he got chance & filled the ears of king that the senior minister is a corrupt person and he has done too much corruption to make his personal wealth and he owns a considerable wealth and property which is illegally obtained from the kingdoms resources and reservoirs. When the king investigated it he found a lot of corruption in the senior ministers account and under his responsibilities. The king immediately ordered the disposal of the senior minister from his rank and the seizure of his property. The minister and his wife who was making jokes on 22nd Rajab Koondaas were ordered to leave the city. The minister who till yesterday owned enormous reservoirs of wealth and castle now owned only 2 Dharms only. They saw a person selling the melon so they bought a melon and tied it in the hand kerchief so as to eat it in hunger. Coincidently the prince was out of the city on the same day and he did not return till the evening as the night began to fall king and queen became worried about their son. The junior minister took advantage of this situation and said that the senior minister is also out of town he may harm the prince to take revenge of his disposal. King ordered his troops to go and get the senior minister and his wife. The troops of the king found the ex-minister and his wife and after detaining they brought them to the king. King observed the handkerchief and asked the ex minister about the handkerchief that what is inside it? The ex minister said that is a melon but as they opened it they found the removed head of the prince. The king got so angry due to the murder of his son and ordered that both the minister and his wife would be hanged in the morning. In the cell of jail the ex-minister said to his wife that it is a punishment of a sin but he is unable get what sin he has committed. Suddenly his wife recalled that she was making jokes on the wife of wood cutter and was not admitting the authenticity of the Koondaas. The ex-minister cursed her and said that these all events are happening due top the refusal and joking of the Rajab Koondaas. Both of the husband wife asked sorry for their sin and prayed that if they will get rid of their problems they will give Koondaas of Hazrat Ja’far Sadiq. They continued praying the whole night with the reference of Hazrat Ja’far Sadiq. As ht wife of the minister accepted and practiced the Koondaas the circumstances took a u-turn at once. The prince arrived in the morning. The king got amazed and checked the handkerchief he found the melon. The king called the minister and his wife and asked them about the events. The minister and his wife told the king all about the happenings and their refusal and making jokes of Koondaas as told by Hazrat Ja’far Sadiq so all the events occurred but as they asked sorry and accepted the Koondaas the things got right. The king rechecked the accounts of the royal treasury but he found it all clear this time. So he honorably re appointed the minister and asked sorry. The junior minister was detained on the orders of the king and found to be guilty of conspiracy against the senior minister. After this the senior minister and his wife practiced Koondaas on every 22nd of Rajab until they died.

Quite an interesting story haan? Now you will find some “technical” loop holes in the story.

1- The name of the woman is anonymous. No information about who was she what was her tribe etc which is weird.

2- There was no kingdom in Madina at that time so there was no concept of “ministers” either. Even if there was some KING then his name was not mentioned.

3- The whole mantra of Koonday started out from Lucknow rather in Arab. I wonder people in India were more aware about things happening on streets of Madina than Arab.

As it mentioned earlier, the day is all about celebrating the death of Hazrat Moawiyah(RA), in reality it has no relation with statement of Jafar Sadiq(ra) or any other such incident.

Regardless of what Islam is talking about it. I wonder that this so called Doctor who has been quite infamous for using vulgar and filthy language for fellow parliament member, is quite ignorant about ground realities.

It is well known fact that Pakistan is being sucked more by those “Poors” who had a couple of kids and belong to elite class and sitting in parliament. Pakistan’s “Energy” and any other crisis is not due to poors but those elite suckers who had been looting Pakistan by every means!. Ignorant and potty-mouth like Dr.Aashiq must fear and feel shame for a while making such absurd statements.

Today the world is celebrating the Father’s Day which is usually celebrated on every 3rd Sunday of June. I am not here to talk about pros and cons of the day, the only reason to make this post about sharing my feelings and concerns as a new Dad as Allah recently honored me with the status of “father”.

Alhamdolillah I have been enjoying the status of a “son” for past 33 years and so far the journey is like a mixed chaat plate having both sweet and sour sauces. So many things I felt that they went wrong,offcourse that was a son’s perspective which could go wrong at anytime. Now when I have been a father for last 12 days Alhamdolillah then automatically things have got changed in me. Just like my father used to worry about me, I am also concerned for my new born son, Maaz. It feels strange and I am failed to use any logic to prove it but the fact is that as soon as you become a father you automatically starts feeling something for the person who is so new for you,who yet don’t recognize you at all. Usually we don’t feel something similar for other stranger but this new stranger brings something different that changes everything around you. I remember that when my son was 2 days old and my wife was hospitalized,the doctor had to examine his blood. I felt more pain than my son when the the syringe was injected in his tiny palm. Another father who was sitting next to me smiled at me and asked,”your first baby?” and I said “Yes” and then he smiled back and said,”Lag raha hay”. I myself was surprised that how is it all happening but it was happening. Without any scientific proof and logic, I had started feeling love for a little one who was just 2 days old. My wife was right. She often used to say before our baby’s birth that I would usually go restless for my son while she would be staying at her mother’s home . I always negated her and said that I would not make a difference between my wife and my kid. She did not mean that way, what all she meant that fatherhood would force me to contact her again and again to know about my kid. She was damn right. I have been defeated by fatherhood,Maaz’s love usually make me restless because I don’t find my son around because he is at his Nani’s place for a month or so.

I don’t know what kind of father I would be. Every parent wishes to give world’s best to their kids. The question is, what’s the definition of “best” for them? If there are parents who believe that giving “best” means world’s all luxuries but no awareness about the religion and education then unfortunately they have ruined their kids. When the kid will grow up, he will curse his parents for what they have given to him. Cursing is not all about saying bad to someone. If a kid was not properly treated and he was not told about the religion and manners then it would reflect other people in surroundings and when they will curse to him, they will actually be cursing parents. There is a hadith in Tirmizi in which Prophet(saw) says:

The best gift from a Father to his child is education and upbringing

A father is usually a role model for kids,specially son who copies what fathers do. So if you yourself are good,chances are you would unintentially teaches good thing to your son.

Being a father you should treat both your son and daughter equally. Though Allah blessed me with a son but If I was blessed with a daughter, I would have been equally happy or even more because daughters usually care more for their parents then sons and our Prophet(saw) also blessed those parents who gave birth to a girl than a boy.

Ok so I was talking about teaching and coaching to your kids. Right now I am not fully aware how to do it and my elders and my religion will be guiding me through out of my life but I would just say one thing that make your children beneficial for you. I would quote an incident here:

Prophet Muhammad (salla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) once passed by a woman who was laughing with her friends and he said to her that her Father is being punished in the Grave. She went home and cried to Allah to save him. When Muhammad (salla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) passed by the ladies Father’s Grave, he heard silence (meaning there was no punishment). He (salla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) went back to the lady to inform her that her Du’a saved her father from further punishment from the Grave.

So,if you have taught your kids how to pray for you after your death then your kids could be helpful for you at the time when no one else would be saving you.

In last I would recommend a book to EVERY FATHER to read,Misaali Baap by Abdul Majid,it’s in Urdu. Every book of Misali series is popular. I had not read any book of the series but my wife who had been reading “Misaali Maa” was quite impressed with the content which provoked me to buy this book.

Usually people don’t care because they believe that they are “born parents” and know everything while in reality they know nothing. So if you re willing to up bring your kid according to Quran and Sunnah then do read the book or consult some learned scholar who can guide you in this regard.

Pray for me that Allah give me enough strength to make my kid a useful member of the society, more specially, a useful member of Islamic Ummah. May Allah guide us,Ameen

An email has been circulating these days having an attachment of a letter written by late Benazir to Sen.Peter Gailbraith when her government was dissolved in 90s. In this letter BiBi is begging the American senator to destabilize Pakistan by every mean.The letter’s image is given below:

I do not know how to thank you for your so many favors to me and my family. As you know that the orders of my dismissal were drafted in the JAG branch of the GHQ, and it was not possible for me to pull along with the army and they subverted my Government.

It would be more appropriate, if military as well as economic assistance to Pakistan is stopped and all the international agencies like World Bank, IMF are told to squeeze the Government of Pakistan and if possible all supply to Pakistan should be disrupted so that normal life in Pakistan comes to stand still.

Now one can raise questions about the authenticity of the letter but it could always be checked. Pro-PPP people would consider it like attacking their “belief” but do you find it surprising? I don’t! And I would add further that anti-PPP or Benazir should come out as patriot either because anyone who licks US’toes would have done same;be it Nawaz Sharif,Altaf Hussain,ANP or anyone else so cursing only Benazir would not solve the problem.

Unfortunately we have been ruled by people who were more involved in destruction of Pakistan rather constructing. Yesterday’s goons are presented as Heroes today. A country which embrace crooks like Yahya Khan,Gen.Niazi can embrace any moron leader with his/her wrong-doings. Actually this is our fault, we elect people like Jamshed Dasti,the fake degree holders and worship people like Zulfiqar Mirza who publicly talks about splitting of Pakistan.

When I first visited it in last May, I did not get impressed at all,first it was a ditto clone of Facebook. Ok that works a bit but then they also used the word Facebook in the domain. I don’t get why on earth a site contains “facebook” would make it successful? Maybe the owners would have thought that it would attract users plus SEO could also give them benefits. Whatever were the reasons, this was not the way to come up with alternatives. If their motive was to gather entire Muslim ummah then there were many alternatives, for instance ummahcircle.com.

Anyways whatever is the motive behind it,only Allah and the site owners know but today I visited it again while chatting with a friend and got surprised to see the home page. As I was expecting, they have been taken down. More surprisingly they are claiming to attract more users than facebook.com in same period of time. Not unusual but MFB owners have come up with details which are “a bit” surprising. Screenshot given here.

According to Millat Facebook, their hosting provider and owners themselves are being threatened and email providers like Yahoo! is blocking MFB domain. I would not reject all such accusations but it does make me think that advancement in technology by Muslims for sake of Muslims would never be appreciated. Since 90%+ technology advancements have been made by Jews hence they have monopoly and they can put their influence on anything which harms their business or cause.

What I think that there were several blunders by MFB owners as well. First they chose a domain which I personally did not appreciate at all and I already mentioned it above. Second,they got quite emotional. When you are in business, you gotta keep your head cool. Putting stuff like “Ghazi ya Shaheed” is not going to help you to deal with people who are not your faith followers. Prolly I understand what it means but when we are facing enemies then we need to understand what they think about us. MFB has right to protest but in a way that it could be effective. They also need to bring some unique concept rather than cloning FB. They also have options to host their site in Europe or launching separate versions for Muslim regions only. For instance millat.pk for Pakistan,millat.ae for UAE etc. In this way they will not be banned by West at all.

Overall I appreciate the motive behind the site and fully support them to bring such sites but not on expense of stealing the copy right material.

I did know Aqeeqah is about shaving head and slaughtering animals but did not have proper details at all. I consulted few authentic sites and asking friends who did know about it. Alhamdolillah all things went smoothly. We also had a family dinner in which all closed relatives from both sides were invited. Since both me and my wife don’t consider Annual birthdays Islamic and sensible thus we both wished to celebrate the legitimate party of Aqeeqah. Between Aqeeqah is not about throwing a party. If you can afford then do invite others otherwise Islam does not ask you to spend money while you don’t have.

It was quite a hectic day since I had been managing things by myself. The shaving of head of my son also required lots of patience because, first I am not used to of handling such small kids plus there was risk that blade could harm his soft skin. Thankful to Allah and my son who did not give me much tough time and the head got shaved easily. One of the part of the Aqeeqah is giving a name to the kid. My son’s name is Maaz(معاذ) which was name of the one of the dearest companion of Prophet Muhammad(SAW),معاذ بن جبل

In this way my Kunniyah automatically became ابو معاذ. Having a Kunniyah was an Arabic tradition which was later endorsed by Prophet Muhammad(SAW) as well. Muslims now bear Kunniyah as a part of Sunnah. More about Kunniyah can be read here.
