NYS ~ Assemblyman Bill Magee can be a dog's best friend. Will he?

One person has the power to save the lives of tens of thousands of dogs and cats in New York animal shelters every year at no cost to taxpayers.
Right now, the Companion AnimalAccess &RescueAct (A07312) is sitting before the NYSAssembly Agriculture Committee chaired by Assemblyman Bill Magee.
His committee will decide whether these animals are killed at taxpayer expense or are saved by non-profit rescue organizations at their own expense.
Currently, Magee is urging that the bill be tabled, condemning these animals to death.

Please help me raise the money to put this ad in all three newspapers of Bill Magee's district.
It is time we educated his constituents about what he stands for and what is at stake in order to encourage him to stop doing the ASPCA's bidding and consign 25,000 animals to death.
He is also up for reelection this year.

Evie was raised and fostered by Stephanie. She was adopted with Houdini. They have both recently been returned due to allergies in their family. Evie's motto is "Sunshine & Rainbows" because she is the happiest kitty EVER. EVER! She will leap on you for you to hold her like a baby and she will give you sweet baby kisses on your neck and chin (even when you don't want them, she will hold you down). When you are going to sleep, she will come up and tuck herself under your chin and just purr, purr purrrrrrrrrr. She needs a little girl who will have tea parties with her, because I'm pretty sure she'd put a dress & hair bow on.

This adorable, little, Parson/Jack Russell Terrier was a temporary member of our household. I fostered him for a couple days so he would be ready for the SouthPark (mall) adoption event the shelter holds on the first Saturday of every month. I brought him back to the shelter today so he can have his neuter surgery.

Spencer (Alana, my oldest daughter named him) got a bath, which he desperetly needed. He was quite smelly when I picked him up. I also spent time getting to know his personality so I could make flyers about him for Saturday. He is an affectionate little guy with lots of energy. He gets excited easily . He likes to climb on a person's lap and snuggle in. If he's tired he'll rest his head on your arm or leg. If he's excited, he'll lick you to death. He's not yet housebroken and is, in fact, a bit of a marker. I hope that improves after his surgery. He is a very good boy in his crate.

I have plans tomorrow so I can't bring Spencer to the mall and be part of his adoption process. I hate that. I just hope that whoever falls in love with him will take very good care of him.

P.S. - I heard from both Jett's mom and Momma Kitty's (Hope's) mom last week. They both sent photos and an update. Both my fosters are doing very well and seem quite happy with their new families. Update photos are definitely an encouragement for me to keep fostering despite all the hard work and the tears when they leave. What can I say? I'm just a sucker for a cute, fuzzy, face.

He is very, very shy..so I sat down right beside him and force myself upon him. Turns out that he loves to have his chin scratched along with his belly. In the next few weeks, he is going to warm up very quickly.

Bob is such a happy little boy! He just lights up when anyone walks into the same room as him. He always greats you with a huge smile! Bob was found running on a busy highway and immediately came to us when we called. He is a fairly small boy. He is full grown and is only 15 pound!

Bob gets along with all dogs and cats of all ages and sizes. He loves to give kisses and play chase. He is also create trained, and goes to sleep as soon as he is placed in!

She’Ra was found malnourished and abandoned in the middle of nowhere. A lovely gentleman found her and brought her to us. She was so thin, that her little hipbones and ribs protruded out. She is a sweet loving girl who is learning that meals, love and a safe environment is something that she doesn’t have to hunt for – they are given on a daily bases. She was only twelve weeks old when she was left to die.

Jett and I are headed to the SouthPark Mall tomorrow for the Charlotte/Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control Adoption Event. Jett will be one of many shelter dogs up for adoption tomorrow. Let's hope it's his lucky day and he finds his forever home. He's such a wonderful foster boy and he deserves the best!!!!
