I just picked up a new toy—the Anker SoundCore 2 in white. I've been looking for a reliable external speaker for my laptop because my built-in computer speakers just don't cut it when I want to sit back and play some games.

Most Bluetooth speakers suffer from an annoying audio delay, which ruins the gaming experience, so I specifically hunted for a speaker that still features a physical auxiliary (AUX) input. When I saw this one on the TikTok Shop for about $42 SGD, boasting "intense bass" and stereo sound, I decided to buy it and test it out live.

First Impressions & Build Quality

Straight out of the box, the speaker feels solid. The whole body is wrapped in a rubberized, anti-slip material, which explains its IPX7 waterproof rating. The control buttons on top are massive—the plus button is almost the size of my thumb. But the most important part for my setup was hidden securely under a thick water-resistant flap on the side: the AUX input and the USB-C charging port.

Sure enough, sitting right in front of it, I could clearly distinguish the audio coming from the left and right channels.

This was the real reason I bought the speaker. I grabbed a TRRS audio cable, plugged it directly into the AUX port, and connected the other end to my laptop's headphone jack. By bypassing the Bluetooth connection completely, I get real-time audio with zero delay.

I booted up Cyberpunk 2077 to see how it handled gaming audio. The sound was fantastic. I could hear the low, bassy hum of the drones, and when I turned my in-game character, the directional stereo audio shifted perfectly from left to right. It is exactly what my desk setup needed.

The goal wasn’t just to see which tool looks the most cinematic.
The real question was: which AI can recreate reality?

Here’s the exact prompt I used:

A dynamic Singapore street food hawker centre scene at night. Same input. Five completely different interpretations.

Why This Test Matters

If you’re creating AI videos for food, travel, or lifestyle content, realism is everything.

People can instantly tell when something feels off.

And in this test, one small phrase exposed a big weakness in most AI tools:

“vibrant neon signs”

It sounds visually exciting.
But it doesn’t belong in a real Singapore hawker centre.

That single mismatch became the deciding factor.

The Results Breakdown

CapCut Seedance 2.0 — Visually Flashy, But Off

The close-up of the char kway teow didn’t quite sell it. It lacked texture and that oily, wok-hei look you’d expect.

When the camera pulled back, the scene leaned heavily into neon lighting. It felt stylised rather than authentic.

You can tell it followed the prompt closely—but without questioning it.

DOLA AI Seedance 2.0 — Strong Close-Up, Weak Context

This one started promising.

The egg detail stood out—the yolk breaking looked natural and fluid. The noodles looked fresh before cooking.

But once the scene expanded, the same issue appeared: neon-heavy visuals that don’t match a real hawker centre.

Good micro detail. Weak environmental understanding.

Google Veo 3.1 — Cinematic Overload

This version felt like a movie scene rather than real life.

The wok flames were exaggerated.
The crowd density felt unrealistic.
Random smoke appeared where it didn’t belong.
Some stalls had duplicated or oversized signboards.

Instead of grounding the scene, it amplified everything.

The result looked dramatic—but not believable.

Meta Vibes — Not There Yet

This tool still feels early in development.

The output lacked consistency and realism, especially for a complex environment like a hawker centre.

It shows potential, but it’s not ready for detailed, real-world scenes yet.

Bing Video Creator — The Most Realistic Output

This was the only result that felt right.

The char kway teow looked authentic—dark, slightly oily, properly cooked.
The surrounding environment matched what you’d expect in Singapore.
The signboards looked normal, not exaggerated.

And most importantly…

It didn’t fully follow the prompt.

There were no overpowering neon lights.
It prioritised realism over instruction.

The Key Insight

This test revealed something most creators overlook:

The best AI video generator isn’t the one that follows your prompt perfectly.
It’s the one that understands when your prompt is wrong.

That’s a big shift.

Because most prompt tutorials tell you to:

be more detailed
add more descriptive words
stack visual elements

But if your prompt conflicts with reality, more detail actually makes things worse.

How This Changes Your Prompting Strategy

If you want better AI video results, especially for real-world content:

Focus less on making your prompt “cinematic”
And more on making it accurate

For example:

All you need is your smartphone, a tripod (or a steady hand), and the CapCut app.

Here is the step-by-step breakdown of how to film and edit this magic roll transition.

Phase 1: Filming the Clips

The secret to this trick isn't in the editing; it's in the alignment. You need to make sure your body position looks exactly the same in both clips.

Step 1: The "Before" Shot

🤯 I'm about to show you how I use Google VEO 3 to generate realistic video clips.

As of today in May 2025, VEO 3 is available in 73 countries. I'm sure they'll expand to some more. Is it available in Singapore? Yes.

I can get limited access to VEO 3 by paying S$28.99 a month which also includes other AI fearures Flow, Whisk, and 1000 monthly AI credits.

Just go to Google One to subscribe.

So that's what I got, the Google AI Pro Plan, and if I want the full version, I just need to pay S$359 per month.

Once you are signed up, just go to the Gemini website or install the Gemini app on your phone which is what I use most often.

Step #1: Go to the bottom and choose Video. Make sure it says VEO 3.

Step #2: Type in the prompt, keep it clear and specific. Add details like location, action, or mood. For example, instead of just saying "A dog", try "A golden retriever running on a grassy field at sunset with cheerful barks". VEO3 loves details. Otherwise it will use its own imagination.

Step #3: Press the generate button and wait for three minutes or more, although it says only one to two minutes.

When the video is ready, tap the download button.

It will produce an 8-second video clip, and still makes mistakes like this demo has no sound. I wonder if we can ask for a refund of credits for such mistakes.

And also it doesn't tell me how many more videos I can generate until I hit the limit.

Take a look at what I've created in the past one week.

I discovered that I can't create realistic children. Even the cartoon version have no sound.

I cannot create celebrities too, but I found a way around it.

You can also make your characters sing with music in the background.

I wish they can squash this gibberish subtitle bug soon.

However, I'm highly impressed by the realistic visuals and sound.

I just plug it into my computer with a USB cable. Then I open my favorite free software, OBS Studio.

In OBS, I go to Video Capture Device. I select the webcam, and boom! I see the video immediately. So I don't have to install anything extra drivers.

The webcam has two built-in microphones, so I don't need to buy extra mics.

Instead of placing it on my monitor, let me fix it on a tripod, so that I can adjust it to the angle I want.

Check this out. I do an L-shape with my hand, and the camera zooms in. I do it again, and it zooms back out.

Now, let's say I want to record an unboxing video. I just hit the Start Recording button in OBS and capture my entire unboxing process.

When I'm done, I just press Stop Recording, and the recorded video file is saved in my folder.

Here’s how:

1. Fill your phone screen with green color.

2. Record yourself scanning the box while displaying the green screen on your phone.

3. Remove the box and place the product in the exact same position.

4. Record the product for a few seconds without moving the camera.

5. Open CapCut and start a new project.

6. Select your recording and tap “Add.”

7. Move the timeline forward to where you finished scanning. Then, split the clip.

8. Select the scanning clip and apply Overlay.

9. Go to Remove BG > Chroma Key, select the green color with the color picker, and confirm with the checkmark.

I was so excited to find a tall, portable tripod with built-in lights. This one promised a 90-degree tilt head and neat folding lights.

But the sales page and the box were a little misleading. There were discrepancies between the advertised images and reality (head tilt, light folding).

Despite these minor disappointments, there's a lot to love. The 170cm height is perfect for capturing more of the background in my selfies and videos.

It folds down to a compact 31cm for easy travel (though you do have to detach the lights).

The lights themselves are a game-changer – warm, cool, adjustable brightness, and USB-C charging!

Plus, they can even be used as standalone lights.

Pros:
