Matt Houchen, 32, was stunned to be told to take down his Norwich City emblem after a member of the public complained. West Norfolk Council staff warned him last week that flying the flag was unauthorised advertising.

Samples from 30 frost-free home fridges had an average of 7850 bacteria colony-forming units per square centimetre. Head researcher Paul McDonnell said the findings were worrying.
