Surveys are finding that audiences are watching less TV and reading less newspapers and magazines. What are they doing instead?

Surveys are also showing a sharp increase in the amount of time audiences are spending on the Internet.

Here's what it means for you. You're getting a bigger share of the market coming to the medium in which you are promoting your wares. That can only be good news...IF you can get in front of that audience.

That's why it's more important than ever to increase the amount of traffic coming to your site.

SEO techniques are important, PPC techniques are important but don't stop there. What about ezines, ecourses, links in ebooks, offline articles, online articles (VERY important), affiliates, joint ventures, publicity, and let's not forget the most overlooked (by entrepreneurs) technique on the net: paid advertising.

I know smart marketers who make 6 and 7 figure incomes without spending a dime on advertising...and I have to laugh. What a false sense of security. Because, if you can make 6-7 figures with no advertising, how much do you think you can make with a well-placed and well-funded paid advertising campaign? I'm not talking about PPC either. Here's why I say this.

Look at the graphs at the bottom of the above site and you'll see that, although, online is the fastest growing medium, stealing the audiences from other media, advertising spending for online is a fraction of the other media, 3.1% vs. 25.3% in newspaper and 14.1% for TV. It means the demand for online advertising is low but the audience is high. And that can mean only one thing: advertising on the net is right now (and probably not for long) a bargain.

Once the big boys - not netpreneurs, I'm talking about Fortune 500s, catch on to this, they will start spending money to capture the market.

Now, if you are a netpreneur you've got some possibilities here.

You can start spending some money for online advertising of your products to supplement what you're doing now and figure out how to get it to work.

Or, you can formulate some exclusive techniques to build niche traffic to your domains so when the advertisers come knocking on your door for ads and/or traffic, you can sell it to them.

Or, you can do both. Or nothing at all.

You decide.

A 20 minute audio and a brand new 17 page pdf
about Niche marketing were leaked to the public
today and you can get them here, FREE:
Underachiever Mastery

Here's what it's about and why you should drop everything
and get it immediately:

There's a big myth that says if you want to
market to niches, you have to sell them ebooks.

THAT'S JUST NOT TRUE

My friend, Frank Kern is the world's most
respected expert on selling downloadable info
products to targeted Niche Markets online.

...And I'm sure you've heard about Frank alot
recently.

It seems like I'm getting emails about
his upcoming Underachiever Mastery System
almost every 10 minutes and you probably are
too.

(I've personally seen this product and it's
worth every bit of the buzz it's getting
...perhaps even MORE. For a PREVIEW of
what the package looks like, here are some
pictures of what I got:
www.CarlGalletti.com/um)

Anyway - what people don't know about
Frank is that he sells a lot more than
just ebooks to these tiny little markets.

He sells them downloadable videos,
downloadable audios, and other types of
*multimedia* products.

What's great about selling downloadable multimedia
products to small niches is this:

1. They have a much higher perceived value
than ebooks ...so you can charge more for them.

2. They are downloadable just like ebooks ...which
means you have ZERO "hard cost" whenever you sell one.

But perhaps the greatest thing about downloadable multimedia
products is that they're often EASIER TO MAKE than ebooks!

You can get a fully detailed case study that shows
you exactly how Frank Kern got one of his multimedia
products created here:

http://www.underachievermastery.com/al/a/38

You get a 20 minute audio walk-through and a
17 page "cheat sheet" guide that takes you
through every step.

Plus, Frank also lets you have a copy of the product he
had created.

And the best part is, it's all FREE :-)

You can get it here:
http://www.underachievermastery.com/al/a/38

My Very Best to You,
Carl Galletti

P.S. I've spoken with Frank and it's true.
There will only be 700 copies of his Underachiever
Mastery System sold ...EVER!

Last time we spoke, Frank and his affiliates had
over 13,800 people in line, waiting for the Underachiever
Mastery System to be released on Sunday, January 30th.

So, if you want a copy, you better order early.

Please consider this:

If just 5.2% of these folks buy, then all 700 copies
will be gone forever.

Frank will NEVER reproduce or sell another copy. Period.So...if you want to beat the crowd, be ready at exactly
9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time on Sunday, January 30th.

When they're gone, they're gone for good.

And, remember, if you order using my affiliate link,
you get over $2,594.00 worth of EXTRA BONUS PRODUCTS.

For more info: www.CarlGalletti.com/um)

How would you like to have Adobe sell your pdf ebooks for you?

Adobe is the number one site across the web. That's because more people link to it than probably any other. Just do a search in Google for the phrase "click here" and you'll see the download page for Adobe Reader pop up #1 with a page rank of 10 (the highest).

OK. So you're saying to yourself "what good does that do me." Alright, now load up your Adobe reader. See that colored box in the upper right hand corner? Sometimes it says "Simplify your review cycles" or "Yahoo Toolbar get it free." But sometimes it has an ad for their Digital Media Store and offers a FREE Pdf download. Look for a green box. It will say: "Pdf eBooks. Read one for free!"

Now, imagine millions of people having that displayed on their Adobe reader. Interesting concept. That's how I found out about it.

Check out their Digital Media Store here.

And if you look at the link at the very top of this blog, you'll find out how to get YOUR Pdf ebooks listed for sale with Adobe.

I don't know how much business you'll get. But, they say: "All titles in the Adobe Digital Media Store are housed in Content Reserve the largest online database of commercial digital content in the world." That can't be too bad. It doesn't seem to require exclusivity. So, you can also sell it elsewhere. And there doesn't seem to be any cost to doing it.

I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who's had experience and what their results are.

Overture's Search Term Suggestion Tool is great. It tells you what keyword search terms people are actually using. And that tells you what they are looking for.

Overture also has a Bid Lookup tool which shows you how much people are bidding for each keyword term.

Wouldn't it be great if they combined these into one single tool that would simultaneously lookup the search term and the bids? And do it for free?

Well, you don't have to wait because Results Generator is such a tool.

Try it out: http://www.ResultsGenerator.com

I know you're a writer, not a musician, but what sort of get-up do you have to use to put cassette info or vinyl albums onto a hard drive?"

Since others might also want to know this, I decided to answer it here:

Well, Chris, a really good way to go with that is to use Mike Stewart's kit for transferring tapes to digital. It includes an Edirol USB capture card (it's not really a card) and Sound Forge editing software (which lets you edit what you've got as well as convert it to Mp3). It goes for about $200 and you can get it here: Tape & Vinyl Recording Capture Package.

Mike is a good friend of mine and you can trust him to give you the best A/V solutions for the web. (And no, I don't get a commission on this sale...but you might mention my name when you buy and maybe he'll buy me lunch at the next seminar -- hint, hint).

Most people already have a sound card on their machines and if yours is capable of capture good quality audio and you want to edit the software as well as convert it, you may just need the Sound Forge editing software, which goes for about $79.

If you don't need to edit the recordings, you can get away with a free download of dbPowerAmp which you can get for free at: dbPowerAmp.com.

Speaking of audio editing software, you might want to also check out Drew Kaplan's Instant WAVE And MP3 Recorder & Editor which sells for under $20 and will do both the editing and converting for you.

Hope that helps all of you.

If you haven't yet heard about it, you should pay close attention. This is going to be big...for YOU.

I first heard about a week ago from Mike Stewart who is preparing some software and hardware to support people wanting to podcast.

Today, NPR (National Public Radio) did a piece on it. Adam Curry (the former MTV VJay) is the major cheerleader for this new concept.

It's like syndicating RSS feeds except that they are AUDIO feeds instead. Although they're handled very much like normal RSS feeds, they DO require a special form of RSS (2.0 with enclosures) and the primary difference is that the latest software will automatically download your subscriptions right to your ipod or similar device.

How is this good for you? Two ways. For one, if you've got something to say, you'll get through to a lot more people using audio than the printed word.

The second way you will benefit is by using it to educate yourself. Personally, I believe in constant self-education. I've been doing it for years. And the most effective way I've found is listening to audio cassette tapes. Of course, the CD and CD/Mp3 have pretty much replaced the cassette but the principle is the same.

However, what makes things so much different today is that with an ipod or similar device, you can actually carry around your entire audio library and have access to whatever you want, whenever you want, wherever you are. Now that's powerful.

The best audio program I've ever learned from was Newstrack's Advertising Classics which contained 8 classics on 16 audio cassette tapes and although the company has gone out of business and you can't get it on CD, you can still get the audio cassette tape set from TWI Press.

So, if you get the audio cassettes and read them into your computer you can then convert them into Mp3 and add them to your ipod. Of course, this has nothing to do with podcasting but when you add this type of material to your ipod and then add some solid content about things like the latest on traffic generation and product creation and traffic conversion/copywriting...you have an almost ideal learning laboratory that you can carry around with you wherever you go.

This assumes the availability of good content. Maybe YOU can be the one to provide it, if you've got something valuable to impart.

Whether you do or not, you can use it to self-educate and if you do that, it's only a matter of time before you'll be the one providing the good content. That leads to a following and that leads to prosperity (=$$$$$).

Start with the ipodder site above. A search on Google will turn up a lot of valuable information about what you'll need to make it work for you.
Page

Yahoo!

Want to know when I've added something to my Blog? (and which ever others you may want). Here's how:

If you don't already have a My Yahoo! page (it's Free), you can get one at Yahoo!. Just click on the My Yahoo! logo in the upper right corner of Yahoo's home page and follow the directions for creating your Front Page (called "My Front Page").

When it gets to the "add content" part, find the "Add RSS by URL" option and enter the following URL:

http://adsecrets.blogspot.com/atom.xml

and click the Add button.

If you already have a My Yahoo! page, you can just click on the "+ Add Content" text at the upper left of the page, just below the Search box. Then, in the Find Content box at the top, click on the "Add RSS by URL" highlighted, blue, underlined text at the far right of the box, just right of the "Find" button. And enter the URL as per above.

You can do a lot of things with your My Yahoo! page. On mine I have Bookmarks and saved searches, local weather, the stocks I want to monitor, new movie releases, local movie showtimes, the lead news photo, and, of course, my blog. There are lots of possibilities. I set mine to be my home page on my browser, which can be done in Internet Explorer by going to Tools -> Internet Options -> General tab and entering http://my.yahoo.com/ in the Address box of the "Home page" box at the top, then click OK.

Simple. Neat. Very useful.
Top Internet Marketer Carl Galletti has a birthday this Thanksgiving

AdSecrets Marketing Letter Ezine Online Newsletter by Carl Galletti

This year, my birthday, November 25 occurs on Thanksgiving. That's a rare occurrance. I was actually born on a Monday, which narrows down the year. If you can guess the year...OK, contest time... the first person to guess the year gets a prize.

Now, what shall that prize be? Let's see.

First, to enter the contest, you have to place a link on a page of your web site and promise to keep it there for at least three months. Here's the link:

Top Internet Marketer Carl Galletti
(To clarify for anyone unfamiliar with how to do this: a human looking at the page must see the same words you see above, namely: "Top Internet Marketer Carl Galletti" - without the quotes. And the underlying LINK must be to: http://www.CarlGalletti.com/ )

For those of you using Dreamweaver, Front Page or any other WYSIWYG editor, just enter "Top Internet Marketer Carl Galletti" - without the quotes - in the page, highlight it, and put the link, http://www.CarlGalletti.com, into the link box.

Ok. Now you can enter. By the way, EVERYONE who enters gets a prize, a copy of The Ginger Cure. It's a classic marketing story that teaches the basic instincts of marketing in a very stimulating and interesting way. Although somewhat dated -- it IS a classic afterall -- you WILL get a lot out of it. If you already have it, I'll find you an acceptable substitute.

OK. Then you need to put your thinking cap on and figure out what the year is. You only get one guess. Here's a hint. The year I graduated from High School "Dancin' In The Street" by Martha & the Vandellas was a top hit. I remember this vividly because, as a group of us were driving home from a basketball game, the song came on the radio and Mary Ann M. and a couple other gals hopped out of the car and began "dancin' in the street" (we were stopped for a red light at the time).

OK. Here's how I judge the winner. First, the link must be correct, as per above. Then, you must get the year correct in one guess (no additional hints). If more than one person gets it right up to here, the first tie-breaker is the page rank on the page you placed the link. The page with the highest page rank as determined by Google's toolbar, wins. This page, of course, must be the page with the link on it.

In case of a tie here, the site with the best Alexa rating wins (that means the "lowest" number according to the Alexa toolbar on the day I check it).

To summarize, send an email to me at Carl@AdSecrets.com with the link to YOUR PAGE that has MY LINK on it (so I can verify the entry) and your guess to the year I was born.

By return email I will send you the download link to your entry gift and let you know if you were correct or not.

I will collect all entries until 12 noon, Mountain Standard time, November 30, 2004 (Next Tuesday - so you've got one week). At that time I'll evaluate the winning entries for page rank and, if neccessary, Alexa rating, and notify everyone of the winner.

What do you win?

A $500.00 gift certificate, good toward any of the following products:

Anything currently listed at this site:
Carl's Commandos

Plus, you get FREE Shipping/handling.

What about runners-up? Ok, you drive a hard bargain.

ANYONE who submits the correct answer and who's link is on a site with a page rank of 5 or more gets a $250.00 certificate. Or, $100.00 for a page rank of 2-4. Or, $50.00 for any lower page rank.

ANYONE who submits ANY entry with a link on a page ranked 6 or above will automatically get the top prize, the $500.00 gift certificate, regardless of whether their answer was correct or not. (Hey, it's my contest). Or, $200.00 for a page rank of 4-5. Or, $50.00 for a page rank of 3.

OK. Good luck.

This book was first recommended to me by Gary Halbert and Jay Abraham. Both raved about it. So I looked for it. At the time it was out of print and the only way to get it was to do have my local research librarian search the entire country for it.

She eventually found it in a college library just a few miles from where I lived. I got it through an inter-library loan, read it and my life was instantly changed.

I went on to obtain reprint rights to it and made it available to the public for the first time in many years. That was back in the 80's. After I sold out of copies, someone else got the reprint rights and extorted the market by charging $299 for it with some tapes. He later made it available separately from the tapes at "only" $199. That was the 1950 edition.

That's why I'm glad that the 1931 was eventually reprinted at a much lower price. Actually, in many ways the 1931 edition is better.

Bullets are seductive. They get you to want the product...IF they are done well. Writing really good bullets is a skill you should master if you want to convert your prospects (i.e., lookey-lous) to customers/clients.

So, studying good bullets can really help the sales on your site. I've seen a change in bullets multiply sales by 20 and 30 times. That's a big difference.

Here's a place you can see some really good bullets to study:
The Robert Collier Letter Book by Robert Collier

About a third of the way down the page you'll see:
"Just look at what you'll learn in its pages...."

Just below it is a box that has dozens of bullets you can study.

Copywriting Course

Copywriting Course: If you want to improve the results you're getting from your web sites, the most important gains can occur from improving your copy.
