Free Ways to Increase Your Blog Traffic

1) Comment on Blogs
Look for large traffic Blogs in your niche, visit them and leave your comments on their blogs posts. You may use blog search engine like www.blogsearchengine.com, www.google.com/blogsearch and www.searchengineblog.com to find blogs in your niche.

2) Submit Articles
Write articles that are related to your blog and submit them to popular article directories such as ezinearticles.com, Isnare.com, Articledashboard.com, Articlealley.com and goarticle.com. Quality articles may drive you a lot of free targeted traffic.

3) Participate in Community Forums
Use google to search for forums that are related to your blog. Look for forums that has over 10,000 members and read the rules of the forums to see whether you can promote your blogs and websites in your signature. Join forums that allow you to add a link to your blog in the signature and start participating in discussion. You can ask questions, answer other members questions and post your articles, ideas and thought in the forums.

4) Submit Your Blog to Directories
This isn't working to me but some bloggers claim that they gain a good amount of traffic from their listings in directories.

5) Post Often
You can lose traffic if you seldom update you blog, try to make it at least 5 posts per week. This not only will maintain your traffic but possibly attract more readers.

6) Write about Blogging
Write helpful and quality articles related to blogging can attract other bloggers link to your articles and gain may be truckload of free traffic.

7) Post Breaking News
If your found a breaking news of your niche very earlier, post it to your blog. It may give your blog's traffic a boost.

8) Social Bookmarking
Bookmark you blog posts in the large social bookmarking sites like Netscape.com, Digg.com, Simply and Reddit.com.

9) Run a ContestStart a contest
on your blog. Think about the prizes that people really want. It will create a viral effect and bring in new visitors.

10) On-page Optimization
Make sure your blog's title tag and description tag contain your targeted keywords. When you have posted plenty of quality blog post and done a lot of blog promotion, don't be surprise to see your blog ranks top 10 in Google and get free search engine traffic daily.

Search engine submission, Do's and dont's

The following list will give you as idea of the "DO'S" for the search engines:
(a) Try to create "content rich" web pages that are Informative, and "item-specific". Search engines LOVE text, and your pages will rank higher if they specialize in one topic. You should try to have at least 200 words of text on any page that you are planning to register. Try to mix in some key phrases and search terms to raise your rankings. You may want to test your page before submitting them with this Keyword Density Analyzer(one sample given here). Search Engines rank TEXT on your page the Highest when it comes to indexing your site.

(b) Create a Title for the page that has a good combination of "keywords" that you think people will be searching for . . . but also, Make the Title Descriptive! These "search terms" or "keyword phrases" should be separated by no more than 2 (two) commas, or search engines will think you are "keyword stuffing" the Title. Enclose your Title with , ex. This should be the title of this page: Many Search Engines rank the TITLE on your page the 2nd Highest when it comes to indexing.

(c) Create a description meta tag for your page that uses a few of your most relevant "keyword phrases" and "search terms", separated by commas . . . but also, Make the Description Specific in the first 10 words, and no more than 25-30 total words. Do NOT Capitalize Each Word in your description, and try to refrain from using characters such as "&" and "!" . Some Search Engines rank the Description the 3rd Highest when it comes to indexing.

(d) Create a keyword meta tag for your page that uses the most relevant words and phrases. These "keywords" and "keyword phrases" should each be separated by a comma, and should include all of your most relevant "search terms". To see which "search terms" are the most popular, you can do some detective work using the Overture Keyword Popularity Check. => Some Search Engines rank the Keywords the 4th Highest when it comes to indexing.

(e) You can invite Search Engine "Robots" to index your page. If using any Meta Tag Generator(one sample given), just click "Yes" to generate code to be indexed by Search Engines.

(f) You can tell the "Robots" to Follow each Link (spider your site). If using any Meta Tag Generator, just click "Yes" to generate code to follow links on your site for further indexing.

The following list will give you an idea of the "DONTS" for the search engines:

(a) Do not use text that is the same or slightly different color as the background to 'hide' words. Also, note the background color to a table cell and make sure that any text put inside the cell is not also the same color as the page background color.

(b) Do not repeat the keywords in the Meta tags more than once, and do not use keywords that are unrelated to the site's content.

(c) Do not create a title like soft toys, soft toys, and soft toys. etc. This is considered as spam.

(d) Do not repeat the keyword to increase its frequency on a page (Keyword stuffing). Search engines now have the ability to analyze a page and determine whether the frequency is above a "normal" level in proportion to the rest of the words in the document.

(e) Do not optimize a page for top ranking, and then swap another page in its place once a top ranking is achieved.

(f) Do not put misleading words on the page in the hope to attract visitors looking for another topic.

(g) Do not submit a page to the search engines that, once loaded, automatically redirects to a page of different content.

(h) Do not create a page that prohibits the user from using the browser's back button to return to the search engine results.

(i) Do not create too many doorways with very similar keywords.

(j) Do not submit the same page more than once on the same day to the same search engine.

(k) Do not submit pages that contain keyword filled 'sentences' that make no sense.

(l) Do not put multiple instances of the Title Tag in the HTML code. For a while, spammers were enjoying success with this, but the search engines quickly caught them, and it is now considered spam.

(m) Do not put pages of content in layers and position them off screen or practice the same kind of behavior by turning the visibility of the layers to 'off.'

(n) Do not use tiny or 'invisible text' in the page.

(o) Do not send query to a search engine with an automated 'rank reporting tool' hundreds of times per day.

(p) Do not purchase multiple domains and put duplicate copies of the web site on each domain. Search engines can detect duplicates and may penalize the entire block.

(q) Do not participate in Link Popularity Programs or Farms (that means participating in link exchanges for the sole purpose of increasing the ranking in search engines).

(r) Do not participate in traffic site i.e auto traffic its against Google's TOS.

(s) Do not submit different versions of the web site (i.e. do not simply duplicate a Web page, give the copies different file names, and submit them all) in the hope of getting multiple listings. That will be interpreted as an attempt to flood the engine.

(t) Do not submit more than the allowed number of pages per engine per day or week. Each engine has a limit on how many pages one can manually submit to it using its online forms.

(u) Do not cloak.

(v) Do not support affiliate sites with same or similar content but a different site designs.

(w) Never submit doorways to directories. Follow the submission guidelines carefully.

Why are you not making money from adsense?

I personally know many those who hardly make 1$ per day with more than five blogs.This information is for them..Here are your main reasons...

Some illusions people have..

1) If you think you can build a website and within weeks make good money you are wrong.

2) If you think its easy to make money using Google you are wrong.

3) If you have been told you will make easy money from Google you have been lied to.

4) If you have a 1, 2, or 3 page blog on blogspot, blogger, etc, that is about making money on the internet you will NOT make any money.

5) If you steal your content from other websites to put on your website you will not only not make money, you will most probably never get into the google search engine.Unique content always pays...

6) If your website is a copy of other websites then very few people will visit it and even less will return.

7) Most people selling websites that they say make money are LYING. Only suckers buy them, they are the only people making money from it, not you.So dont get into it.

What must you do to make money on the internet..
1) Love making websites. - If you don't like making new content then you will fail. You must enjoy making content more than you enjoy making money.

2) You MUST have an established website with good traffic BEFORE you have a google adsense if you want to make money. You will only get about 10% of people visiting your website clicking on the advertisements. If you lucky.

3) If you have less than 1000 per day visiting your site you might as well stop wasting your time, and get a job in the real world. 1000 visitors = 100 clicks, = $10 if you are LUCKY.

4) That $10 for an entire days worth of work.

5) You must have a niche field that other people want to read that is NOT about making money. A hobby site, or other interest is better.

6) You must know html to be able to change your site to best use Adsense.

7) You must have your own domain name - very few people on mysite.blogspot.com make much money.

8) You must have good ranking in Google to get the visitors you need to survive.

9) You must be prepared to make 10's to 100's of webpage's of your topic.

10) You must make fresh pages every week (at least) to attract people and get indexed in the search engines.

11) The best sites do NOT use a blog template, because the old content is lost, and that old content is also good to earn money from. Use a normal website template with links to your articles on the front page.

12) You must have good language skills, good writing skills, and a good idea about how to write for the internet. "What I did today" type blogs will not make you much if any money. There are literally millions of blogs about the minutiae of peoples daily lives, you need something better (or have very exciting days)
