Crush Global Warming is a personalized, viral hip-hop video aimed at encouraging young people to declare their independence from fossil fuels. Free Range Studios created this video for the Alliance for Climate Education.
Visitors can use Facebook to make friends the star of the video. The friends’ pics actually appear in the video – on cell phones, billboards, TV and more. (there’s a non-Facebook version too.)
ACE is dedicated to educating America’s high school students about the science behind climate change and inspiring them to do something about it—while having fun along the way.
Crush Global Warming is all about going green with style – and declaring energy independence. It supports ACE’s Declaration of Independence from Fossil Fuels, which was written by 15-year-old Alec Loorz (see third video) to help youth raise their voice against climate change.

Diabetes Is No Picnic

This is a web-only PSA designed to catch parents off guard and let them know about the devastating consequences of diabetes and encourage them to find out the steps they can take to help prevent it.
The campaign running during November, which is American Diabetes Month, also contains a website Diabetes Is No Picnic.
“In the USA every 30 seconds a leg is lost due to diabetes.”
“Everyone is aware of diabetes, but few people understand how devastating the disease can be,” explains Serve Founder, Gary Mueller on why his organization took such a provocative approach in their communications on this issue. “We believe people need a wake-up call on this issue. If we want people to change their unhealthy behaviors, they need to see this disease in a different light. We need to make people uncomfortable with their inaction. Focusing on educating people about the devastating consequences of diabetes is the best way to do that.”

Sorry for the strong language, but this is the title of a new social campaign from Denmark. The campaign is literally in your face as you have to punch the featured girl to get the message. Most disturbing is that you want to go all the way through, which make you feel like a 100% idiot once finished. But the message, even though it's in Danish, is very clear.

Toshiba sent a biodegradable Space Chair up 98,268 feet using balloons and 4 GPS systems. It was filmed using Toshiba IK-HR1S cameras. I love the very end of the clip - freaked me out :)

Branded iPhone applications need one characteristic to be successful and appreciated by consumers: they need to be useful and, possibly, worth talking about to friends. I was quite doubtful when I received an email from Tide PR people promoting "The Tide Stain Brain". But I was wrong, the insight the used and the service they want to provide is pretty good: a guide to stain removal, an application that helps consumers finding and sharing solutions for stains.
