ワインテイスティング会！　April 10th

noreply@blogger.com (Raul Boggio) — Tue, 13 Apr 2010 05:46:00 +0000

Free wine tasting event!
無料ワインテイスティング会！Let's "study" about French, German and Italian wine. (Chilean and Australian too.) ９日金曜日にプライベト利き酒もあります。I also have reservations for a private tasting on Friday at 2pm (if interested let me know asap) which is also free but Saturday is more casual.
二次会有り！でもどこ？
Bordeaux ボルドー:
2006 Chateau La Raballe (inexpensive blend , 90% メルロMerlot and 10% カベルネCabernet Sauvignon but with high value rating)
2006 Chateau de Brondeau blend: 70% Merlot 20% Cabernet Franc 10% Cabernet Sauvigon. Reviews by Cork'd:
"Color: inky dark purple. Nose: restrained, cherry, pine, pepper. Taste: Nice fruit, especially cherry. Moderated by a little vegetal green, not a huge finish. Good concentration, back end tannins. But at $15 a bottle, this is a good buy. Should be good for 3-5 years still."
The other French wines are as follows:
2007 Vin de Pays De Vauclu Les Plans
2008 Cotes du Rhone Rouge
イタリアとチリとオーストラリアのワイン情報は時間がないし必要ないです。（笑）I don't have time to list the other wines and not really necessary anyway. (hahaha)

Hope to see you there. I'm not sure how many people I can bring... so if you want to go and didn't get an invite, just mail me or click "attend".

Nothing older than time, nothing sweeter than wine
Nothing physically, recklessly, hopelessly blind"

My lovely student Itsuko entertained us for the second time at "Jazz in Lovely" in Sakae. The house was packed, drinks were being tossed back and the music was soothing. We couldn't ask for much more. Thanks 司さん！

I got off this picture before the staff told me to put away the camera...

Matt's Welcome Party

noreply@blogger.com (Raul Boggio) — Thu, 28 Aug 2008 01:45:00 +0000

We welcomed Matt Doran with a party catered by Melinda, Yoko and Chon. Everybody did a great job but unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of Chon with the Korean BBQ! What a sight it was. Melinda cooked Mexican and Italian while Yoko made simple party favorites including gyoza, potato and chahan.

Min shows Matt the welcome sign.

Hey why are we all outside?

Hey, I'm a gaijin!

We are weak...

The kids room is the place to be!

Yes, I made it!

Hanami 2008!

noreply@blogger.com (Raul Boggio) — Thu, 22 May 2008 02:35:00 +0000

The cherry blossoms came a bit early in 2008. The timing didn't matter though. We were just happy to finally have a hanami party. Unfortunately, in years past, our parties had coincided with bouts of rain or freezing weather. This year, we decided to avoid the crowds and have the party in the park near Issha school. The party was announced the day before so many friends and students were unable to attend. So that just meant more delicious food for those who came!

Wow! These flowers just shine in the dark!

Cheers! Wait? What's up with that "Zero" stuff?

Strawberries and sashimi!

and Korean rolls!

Looks yummy!!!

An offering to the tree gods...

kanburi!

Richado arrives on his new bike.

Satoshi to the rescue!

I rule hanami! (Too many Zeros?)

Jazz Night! March 15th, 2008

noreply@blogger.com (Raul Boggio) — Fri, 11 Apr 2008 02:30:00 +0000

I've been wanting to have a Jazz Night with Itsuko for a long time. Well the day finally arrived on March 15th, 2008. Itsuko Tsukasa organized a special concert of professional jazz singers and her best students. With the KC Jazz Orchestra, the night was complete. We were lucky to find a nice balcony seat at the sold out Bottom Line. Thanks for a great night Itsuko and we are looking forward to seeing you at Jazz In Lovely in May!

The beautiful Itsuko Tsukasa!
