Krunk 81 Retro Boards, which will be available from the end of May.

Many of our customers will remember the the Mini "School" boards we sold in 2001 and 2002, well now the cycle is back but with new louder boards and colours and a deck based on the traditional skateboard Retro style from the 80's. These board will perform equally as well in the parks and bowls round the country as well as being an ideal board for the school run and small enough to fit into a backpack.

Available in 6 colour options all with contrasting wheel/truck combinations the Krunk Retro 81's will make all skaters stand out from the competition. "Retro" style boards have been seeing an increase in sales over the last 12 months but with higher retail prices compared to our new Krunk range, which put these boards into an affordable price bracket.

New eco-friendly cyles lubes and cleaners

Pure is a new range of eco-friendly lubricants, cleaners and degreasers from Weldtite. They’re made from 100% non-petrochemical ingredients and even the packaging, bottles and labels, can be recycled. So you can happily clean and lube your bike without fear that the excess being washing down the drain or through the soil is going to contaminate water sources.

The eight-strong range, developed by Weldtite, includes bike wash, bike protector, degreaser, oil, wet and dry lubes and grease, all made from sustainable and biodegradable ingredients (from natural and renewable sources), 100 per cent free from petroleum based solvents, with no propellants and kept in in recycled and recyclable packaging.

“We’ve been making superb bike related cleaning and lubrication products for literally decades,” say Pure. “With only a little reformulation we’ve been able to make a range that not only performs really well, it’s totally environmentally friendly.

As you might know I spend a lot of time in France, while Malc and Richard very capably run the shop.

There are thousands of ex-pats moving to France every year and sometimes it doesn't go as smoothly as they wished. So after listening to many stories from numerous ex-pats I decided to write a fictional novel about white van man and his family moving to France from the UK.

Vantastic France is my first novel so I decided to launch it as a Kindle e-book, although if it sells well I might consider a paperback version. It is available world wide on Amazon Kindle, just search for Vantastic France.

Obviously a lot of vision and thought went into it, but Holland is a lot bigger than Guernsey and my first thought was how will we ever fit them in to our narrow roads.

One way could be to create more one way roads, but that would have most motorist up in arms, and which deputies would have the courage to push it through. It definitely would not have to be near election time and that's for sure.

However, one of the biggest complaints about Guernsey from locals and tourist alike, is too much traffic. It is a catch 22 situation, more people would cycle if there was less traffic as it would be less dangerous and motorist complain about dangerous cyclist on the road, sailing past stationary traffic.

The problem with one-way roads is that people do tend to speed more, and there is no way that we want those annoying speed humps, to slow the traffic down. One-way roads could also allow more parking in some areas.

In France 90% of motorist stick to the 50 kph town and village speed limits now, why? because there are police with speed camera just at the end of the town or village where you thing it is safe to speed up. The next think you know, its gendarme flagging you down or an instant fine in the post. If Guernsey did go down the route of more one way roads, then the police would have to be a lot harder on people speeding in built up areas.

Unfortunately it is too easy to speed when you have been stuck in traffic, so one-way roads would help with the traffic flow and cause less delays and frustrated motorist.

The ball is in your court Deputies!

PS. Please do not remove parking to make one way roads just to increase traffic flow, as was proposed in St Martins Village, this would cause more traffic by people driving around looking for another parking space.

Fuel prices in Guernsey have gone up yet again as you can read on This is Guernsey

One way to beat the fuel prices could be to cycles, but for those of you that do not like to work up a sweat on your way to work, an electric bikes could be the answer.

Electric bikes have come along way since we started selling them and and we have now sold about 450 of them. In the early days they were cheap imports form China, with heavy lead acid batteries. Now we have lighter batteries and some bikes are capable of covering 50 miles on one charge.

The build quality and reliability is far higher than it was, especially with our Raleigh and Wisper brands. Our mechanic have learn a great deal about servicing electric bikes as they are more complicated than a standard cycle and we do have a loan electric bikes sometimes available when yours is in for repair.

We have chosen the companies that we deal with very carefully, taking into account back-up, stocking and parts availability. Yes you maybe could still find cheaper Chinese imports on the internet, but wait until you have to find parts or an electrical fault.

Many Guernsey residents have found the benefits of owning an electric bike, so why not pop into Adventure Cycles in St Martins and test ride some of the bikes we have in stock. We think you will be pleasantly surprised and you just might use your car a little less.

You can also make a donation from a link on the site, and follow their fund raising events. There are also some great artist impressions of what the new Guernsey Skate park will look like.

This will be one of the largest concrete skateparks built in the British Isles for nearly 10 years and it will be the envy of every small Island, Jersey, South East England and put Guernsey on the Extreme Sports map, with plans for major national competitions in the years ahead. If you have kids, grandchildren or were a skater or BMXer in your past and want to support a social and sports facility with a life span of nearly 40 years, that provides a very positive, creative, alcohol and drug free pastime - we really need your assistance to get it over the line.

2011 has been a very popular year for micro scooters with the introduction of many accessories and high end scooters.

Demand has outstripped supply again this year, so we have to now pre-order most items. With Christmas just around the corner we do recommended that you secure your scooters and accessories early, or place an order for stock due in.

We have just had a delivery of Madd Nitro Extreme scooters, and these are selling at £250 in the UK. Our special offer price or £199 means you are getting a great deal , but unfortunately due to postage and Vat cost we do not ship to the UK.

We also have small stocks of GRIT scooters, another popular upmarket brand, so again be quick if you require on of these.

We are expecting a delivery of the JD BUG eco's at the end of October as we just have a few left in stock. The eco is the best entry level scooter on the market, for up to 50kg weight. It retails at £30.
