A review of Blush Lingerie

I am a low maintenance girl, jeans and t-shirts are my standard wardrobe and I rarely splurge on anything for myself. I love looking at pretty clothes, I just don't buy them for myself. So I was intrigued when Blush Lingerie asked me to review some of their lingerie. Wow! I may have become a lingerie addict with just one taste.

The style I received is called Simple Pleasures in a yummy purple named Concord. I gave the sales rep my measurements and the garments fit perfectly. The underwire bra offers good support in a DD cup and the hipster panties even make my flat-ish bottom look good!

This method works well if you have an "average" build. If your waist is significantly smaller than your bust you may need to go down a size...no one wants a loose corset.

You may also find that different manufacturers run large or small or even certain styles are cut big or little but this is a solid basis for choosing a size. Typically this will allow for a 2" gap in the back so your corset will fit well even if you gain or lose a couple of pounds.

Resolutions, not just for New Year's Day

Happy New Year! This is the day where we typically vow to lose weight, exercise, stop smoking...the usual resolutions. I have some resolutions of my own to share, please feel free to make these your resolutions, too:

1. Pay cash for everything. If I can't afford it, I can't buy it, how simple is that? It's a resolution everyone can adjust to, even the government. For me, I'm going to stop making credit card companies rich and make myself rich instead. How much stuff do you REALLY need???

2. Be kinder to myself. I say things to myself that I would never dream of saying to another human being. I think we are all guilty of this. Do you look in the mirror and say, "I am so fat." or "I am a loser." Stop it! These are self-fulfilling prophecies and serve no purpose. I plan to start each day reading a list of positive things about myself and speak to myself only as a friend would.

3. Learn a new hobby. Instead of passively reading a novel or randomly surfing the Internet, I want to master an activity that allows me to be creative and produce a tangible object. I'm going to give beading a try.

4. Live in the "right now". I'm always rushing through whatever I'm doing while thinking about the next thing I need to do. It sounds corny, but in 2010 I intend to stop and smell the roses. If I'm in traffic, instead of fuming and getting stressed about something I can't control, I plan to clean out my wallet, balance my checkbook, see what animal shapes are in the clouds and maintain an attitude of gratitude. It's very easy to be sad or mad about all you don't have but much more fulfilling to be grateful for all you do have.

There's nothing wrong with the standard resolutions, we should all strive to better ourselves by adopting good habits and behaviors. But if your resolution to lose weight (for example) is preventing you from enjoying life right now, get over it! How many times to you hear someone say, "As soon as I lose 20 pounds I'm going to..." or "As soon as I find a boyfriend I'm going to..." Life is over in the blink of an eye so what are you waiting for?

First, decide which part of your body you want emphasize and which part you prefer to minimize. Small chest? Look for a top with extra material like ruffles that add dimension to your bust. What part of "customer service" is so confusing?

Picture this...you have a big wad of cash in your hand, walk into a store to spend it and the person behind the counter says, "No thanks, we have all the money we need. You can take your cash somewhere else."

That probably would never happen but it does seem that some companies feel that way. Most of the time, the "customer service representative" is the only person you have contact with at any given establishment. Large corporations are especially guilty of choosing unskilled workers to fill this position at low pay so you have a double whammy. A) The person on the phone or behind the counter doesn't have the information and training to answer your question and B) because they make low wages they don't care enough about their job to make sure that you...the person with a wad of cash to spend...is happy or not.

This can happen at the bank, the grocery store, your favorite mall store and it happens in business-to-business relationships with vendors. Consumers let companies get away with this shabby treatment because, let's face it, we are too pressed for time or too set in our ways to research the alternatives.

Personally, I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take any more! If Mr. Big Business doesn't have time to treat me with respect and EARN the right to take my big wad of cash I'm taking my money somewhere else. What's that Miss Customer Service Rep? You don't have time to answer my question or find the information? You don't have time to do your job properly? You have discovered the perfect cure to being too busy. Ignore your customers and they will go away. Ms. CEO doesn't want to cut into her gazillion dollars a year salary and pay employees a decent living? You don't want to spend the time and money to train your employees to service your customers? Think of how much money you'll make if all your customers all go away.

Sorry for the rant, but the very foundation of my company IS customer service. I know my customers can choose where they spend their money, so I work very hard to provide the ultimate customer service. At Oh Cheri! we treat every customer like our only customer. If you appreciate that kind of service, make the effort to spend money only with companies who give you the service you deserve.

As you browse through your favorite online stores, you can click on this bookmarklet and add the item to your list. When someone says, "What do you want for your birthday?" you can either email the list or send them a link to look at your list. Each of the sites listed below have slight variations on how you create and share your list, visit them all and find which ones you like best:
