Announcing GamePlan Beta Tester Program

We are happy to announce the launch of lean construction based project management system – GamePlan. GamePlan’s Schedule Management and Field Management modules will be available for Beta testing initially. We will be adding Document Management, Contract Management, Cost Management and Resource Management modules shortly.

We are searching for Lean Construction experienced testers who can participate in beta testing our new web application GamePlan. There are many instances when full-fledged construction Companies have failed, not because of lack of projects, but because they were unable to manage the existing projects efficiently. Prior assembly of resources and coordination of activities becomes therefore essential. Three simple steps to instigate a thriving construction project include:

Integrate: assimilation of resources is very essential in order to implement the plan of action of any construction project. The first step to begin the process of implementation includes integration of resources, because if the resources are not gathered efficiently at one place then it would become extremely difficult to execute the plan so prepared for accomplishing the project.
Implement: the second step to put a thriving project into action is putting those resources into practice by effectively implementing them into the project. And what matters more is implementation as per requirement rather than implementation of resources alone. There happens many a times that the construction companies find it hard to utilize the resources properly because they are unaware of where to employ them. Giving a prior thought to implementation of resources hence becomes very much needed.

So much has been said and talked about the inevitable elements of construction industry. Various issues that need immediate attention have also been discussed. How important coordination and communication is, has been paid enough heed.

But have we understood the importance of planning yet? Have we taken into account the consequences we might face if prior planning is not done in the construction industry? Well, the topic itself speaks volumes – if you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.

The importance and uses of planning are many, but a few significant ones are highlighted below:

Project execution

Most of the time businesses fail to execute the construction project on time not because the idea lacked matter or they fell short of resources, but because somewhere their plans starting from the scheduling to the budgeting of the project were improper and not properly chalked out.

Be prepared for contingencies

If you are planning things in your business, it doesn’t indicate that you are being skeptical about your business, it instead shows that you are not waiting for something to turn up out of the blue and hamper the progress of your project.
