Holy wow things have been busy lately! Between class, planning our trip to Vancouver and still running a household – I’m exhausted!

I was up at 6am this morning to stay on top of messages for the trip. Whew. Now off to class.

There has been some interest from places outside of Vancouver such as: Seattle and Vancouver Island, which I had not intended to visit this trip. BUT if there were a few more interested parties I could foresee doing one or the other.

Officially bought my first car a few weeks ago and so far she’s been great to us! Heated seats (which since we’re still getting snow storms is incredibly handy), heated mirrors, cloth seats (would of prefered leather by no big deal), 2.0L engine, 4 cyl, automatic. She’s got a lot of pick up and go and handles great at the higher speeds. We’ve had her on the highway a few times and gotten it up to 180kms so far. And I’m really looking forward to hitting the highway with her as much as possible this summer.

So far my summer travel looks like
- early June – Vancouver with a pit stop in Kelowna.
- undetermined – Kansas City and likely Chicago as well.

So if you live in either city or along the route/nearby and want to shoot, let me know as soon as possible. I’ll only be taking on enough shoots to cover the costs of the trips, so spots will be limited. If you have an idea and would like to book me but are scared you can’t afford it, we can still negotiate as long as it’s still a fair offer. Cause like I said I just need to make enough to cover the trip.

In other news since I had a few people ask on formspring… My grandpa is still in the hospital and he’s not well enough to go home or even be transferred to a long term facility. Mostly right now we’re all just playing the waiting game.. And I’m taking some courses at a local university. Week one is officially done today and I have a few more weeks to this part of the course. I’m enjoying it but it’s eaten into my shooting/online chat time. But I figure a few weeks with lessened online activity is for the greater good if it can get me a kick ass job at the end of it.

Haven’t uploaded any pictures in a week or so, so here’s a weekend update.

Monday I start full time schooling! I’m really excited and I’m already pretty immersed in my course subject matter. When the course wraps up near the end of May/early June, I’m hoping to head out to Vancouver for a celebratory trip for surviving the course. If you’re in Vancouver, take note I will be taking some bookings. I’ll post more on the trip later, at the moment I’m going to go enjoy my friday night; hopefully you do too.

Sorry for being absent in the last little while! Nothing new or exciting to report unfortunately. My grandpa has been in the hospital, which isn’t totally unexpected as he’s 96 but it’s taken some significant input from everyone in my family… Oh, and I broke my pinky toe, which has been slowing me down for the last few days. So, me and my gangster swagger (limp) are making frequent visits to the hospital to visit my poor grandpa who’s not fairing so well.

No shoots planned for the next few weeks but I’m working on some video work and I’m still actively working on my website. If you feel so inclined you can check it out and bookmark it for when it is launched (it’s just a space holder atm) www.aenux.com.

Michael Helms Interviewed

Michael Helms was interviewed by the NoHo (North Hollywood) Arts District and not only is it a great read for photographers and fans of photography, it would really help NoHo out if you go read and comment. Their page views and comments are part of the ‘counter’ system which all plays into their funding. And yes the comments are the main part of what’s important. It doesn’t have to be much, just a little one liner is hugely appreciated.

And for those of you who haven’t creeped the depths of my blog, I shot with this incredible man back in in January of ’09. I stayed with the always wonderful Perry Gallagher and was fortunate to shoot with Michael twice ever so briefly while I was in town and had time to sneak in some sushi at Tori Yens. I’ve actually been contemplating trying to get back to LA sometime this year to shoot with Michael and Perry again. I miss them both quite a bit.

The badassery of Henry Rollins

Carla Fedje reposted this on her tumblr, and since I’m not cool enough to have a tumblr… I thought I’d repost it here.

The awesome poster reminded me of this picture from back in … ’05? ’06? When me, Jonas and a group of other friends went and saw Henry Rollins on his “25 years of Bullshit” tour. We sat up front and enjoyed every second of the show and then waited for him outside by the bus and got to meet him.

My buddy Ben made a metal spoon for Henry Rollins in shop class, which was pretty sweet but what was even better wast that Ben had spelt Henry wrong. He didn’t care and still wanted to give it to him so he ran up to the front of the stage and gave the over sized spoon to a hesitant Mr.Rollins. We all had a good laugh about it.

It’s really weird seeing myself with long black hair. This picture seems like a lifetime ago! If it helps put it in perspective, I was still in high school with this was taken…. haha!

An Enterprise Next Gen orgy would be pretty fucking hot.

No one on there is that unattractive, if the exception of Worf but he’d have a huge cock. Troi + Beverly would be an excellent lesbian partners, Riker, Picard and Geordi are pretty neutral but would make good filler. Wesley is cute and would make good young talent, could even possibly deflower him. And Data would be a fucking machine, literally.

They could mirror the whole scene onto the main screen, and the furniture in the room provides a lot of play inspiration.

Yep, definitely Enterprise Next Gen.
