This was absolutely my favorite part of the three day event. My jaw was literally on the floor from the moment I walked in until the moment I left...it was a fabric WONDERLAND. We learned how they design their showroom displays, how they design their fabrics, how they work with hand-drawings as well as computer software to achieve their looks, how they work with mills, how they work with their licensed designers...the list goes on. Both because this means that I have a new decorating project but also because they are putting down roots close to me and Carter and I'm looking forward to making memories in their new home.<br /> <br /> Carter and I were happy to take a tour through the house as they were considering the purchase to help them think about what they could do with the place with a little paint and decoration (and the answer was LOTS).&nbsp; As we walked through the house, I couldn't help but notice many of the attractive traditional furnishings of the current owner.<br /> <br /> In particular, I really liked two small chairs that were in the home's den. When my sister let me know that the house was a done deal (closing is at the end of the month) I wondered what would happen to those chairs I had seen. Either way, I love it and I think I might try and keep the upholstery and have the chair professionally cleaned. And that's saying a lot because I have to rank the combination of red and brown very low on my favorite color combo lists. But this bathroom is amazing!&nbsp;</div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> <br /></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> The designers worked with the already in place brown and white tile floor - instead of ripping it out and going with marble and painting the bathroom sea glass blue, they used the floor as inspiration for something new. I love that old details can make you think outside the box and create something totally beautiful even if it's not what you originally envisioned.</div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> <br /></div> <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"> The Farrow &amp; Ball wallpaper is the obvious showstopper, but paired with the wood details and brown tile, this bathroom becomes so comfortable and warm. The tortoise mirror, wall lamp and fixtures remind you that this space is elevated and chic, but gone are the watery tones and spa-like appeal of most current bathroom renovations. The architecture and detail of the buildings is mind-blowingly beautiful.<br /> <br /> Of course, my absolute favorite detail was the tile. I have some great pictures to share of her rocking chair revamp. Much like my <a href="http://www.aestheticoiseau.com/2011/10/vintage-rocking-chair-makeover.html" target="_blank">last nursery project</a>, Katy and I found an inexpensive rocking chair second-hand via Craigslist. The consignment shop selling it had it packed in a storage unit, so they unpacked the unit for me to show me the chair. <br /> <br /> Once we had the chair, our next step was to take it and our chosen fabric to my magical upholsterer Hakan Saka of <a href="http://www.simplyreupholstery.com/" target="_blank">Simply Reupholstery</a>. Hakan not only upholstered the chair this time, but he also painted it. The emerald green is the perfect touch to Eileen's use of various shades of lilac, lavender and orchid. And I love just a peek of aqua in the chair and how the room is grounded with taupe.<br /> <br /> Note the painted panels, or is it framed wallpaper?
