There are lots of things to know about weddings, including that they’re fun, fabulous, and occasionally, will send you into a flap. You’ve probably worked that out by now though, so let’s take a look at some more unusual wedding thank you cards facts about weddings and give you a little break from making table plans!

Amorous August

August is the most popular month to get married in the UK, a fact of which you may already be aware if you’ve tried to book a venue for an August weekend! What’s more, over half of weddings take place in the afternoon, whereas around a third of couples choose to wed in the evening.

Loving Location

If you’re in the South-East of England, we’ve got some good news for you. Statistics have shown that couples from Sevenoaks in Kent are three times more likely to stay married, than couples from St. Leonards-On-Sea in Sussex. The reasons for this are unknown, but it might be a good reason to move there!

Trend-Setting Queen

As well as being the longest-reigning monarch in UK history, Queen Victoria was also something of a fashion icon. Before Queen Victoria went down the aisle in her white wedding dress, royal brides would most commonly wear dresses of silver or gold colour, whereas regular brides wore any colour of their choosing. What’s more, it wasn’t at all unusual for brides to wear their wedding dress again after their big day.

Fragrant Florals

A bouquet of flowers is an essential part of every bride’s wedding outfit, but in the 14^th century, the blooms had a more practical purpose. In this era, people would bathe only once a year, in May. By June, their body odour was still acceptable and thus most people were married during this month, but brides carried a large bunch of flowers to help hide their smell!

You might wonder where the custom of having a ‘Best Man’ at a wedding comes from, and no, it isn’t just so that the groom has someone to organise his stag weekend! In fact, the term ‘Best Man’ has its origins in Scottish wedding traditions that are now centuries old. Back then, the groom-to-be selected his future wife and then kidnapped her, and would bring along a male accomplice that he was certain would help him in the task – in other words, the ‘best man for the job’.

I choose my fancy dress wigs, hats etc with allot of care and consideration so as to create the maximum fun and hilarity in the evening as possible, all I need is a little bit of wall space, a table to be provided for my vintage suitcases which hold all the goodies and my sign that informs everyone to just find me, and grab me to photograph them in their chosen fun costumes. Even better than all the other photo booths, as well as the very low price, is the fact that the resulting images will all be loaded up in the same place as all your main wedding images, and these will all be FREE to download and print straight from your supplied online gallery.

The next bonus compared to normal photo booths, is there is no booth, or cumbersome studio lighting which all takes up valuable space at your venue, all I need is the venue to provide a table for the vintage suitcases to sit on and display the fancy dress costumes and off we go, no need for backgrounds as the point of the photo is the people in their chosen fun garb! If there is 6-8ft of wall space free, then that would be great. So there is no massive set up or large  designated areas required.
