It's been a while...

...So here's what we've been up to!

The crew have been away on shoot for what feels like months. They have jetted off to Panama, Colombia and Montenegro to produce a promo for an International School, flown to Scotland to carry out a project for our first University and travelled back to Calne for an Independent School shoot which we are all excited to see. All in a months work at Affixxius!

Talk about busy...

We are still set to relocate to Loughborough in the near future and will notify all our clients of the big day, to keep up to date with happenings around the office follow us on Twitter @affixxius.

We also had a little Twitter competition last month, our 900th follower was awarded cupcakes to mark the ocassion so congratulations to Jeremy at Spidvid in Canada for winning those! We may have another give away so keep a look out!

We've got some exciting things happening around the Affixxius HQ over the next few months (including Christmas!!) so pop by to find out more!

Snow Stopping Us

As you can see, we will travel to wherever is necessary to get the right shot. All week our crew have been setting the scenes to get the filming right for a commercial video. They have created an office in an empty building, filmed the Police about to go on a chase, created stunts, and at 4am this morning, they were filming a beautiful landscape. All to capture the 'light orb' in action!!!

What we're up to!

Well, the end of January is here and a busy February is around the corner. We have various events coming up throughout the month, so here's what we will be up to:

From the 25th to 27th of February we will be exhibiting at the IOSH Conference. After the success of last years exhibition in Birmingham we have an exhibition space booked for this years event at the Excel Centre in London. Once again we will be demonstrating how video can be the most effective tool when training, promoting products and raising awareness in the Health & Safety Sector! Visit us on stand D120 for more information and see some of the projects we have completed so far.

On the 28th of February we will be holding the Education Roadshow at Trent Bridge. Invitations have been sent to Schools across Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire for the half day event. Managing Partner of Affixxius, Miles Latham, will be presenting "Is Video a Worthwhile Tool for Schools?" followed by a complementary lunch for all guests. The roadshow is a great way to understand the uses of video within schools, whether for marketing, communication or promotional purposes.

Well November has come around very quickly, it seems like the year has flown by. We do hope you all had a great Bonfire night and Halloween. (If you want to see our office pumpkin check out our Facebook page!!) We are pleased to have the keys to the new property (soon to be the new Affixxius HQ) and can't wait to see it all new and refurbished. With our success in the Education sector this year, we have put together a Cinema package specifically for our education clients who wish to see their video on the big screen. With lots of new film releases and genres for every age group, it really is an ideal way to capture the interest from prospective parents and pupils. We will be doing a feature on the new package in the November newsletter which will give you all the information you need to get started!

The Countdown has Begun

The Countdown to Christmas has begun at Affixxius HQ! Although it may only be October, the preparations for the Christmas meal and secret santa are under way. October is another busy month for us, the filming crew are as busy as ever and with only a few filming days left in October it has been a successful start to the new school year! With the schools settling in well to the first term back at school, now really is an ideal time to discuss any potential projects for the New Year, and after the success of the ISBI conference at Woldingham School and the HMC Conference in Belfast we are pleased to have a wide variety of new contacts interested in the services we provide!

Happenings at Affixxius

The Production Crew jetted off to Switzerland Yesterday to film at Aiglon College for the week! It doesn't stop there, when they return at the end of the week they will be travelling all over the country filming for various clients for the next few weeks! We are really pleased to have filming dates booked right through to October! On the 21st of September, Miles and Brenda will be attending the ISBI conference at Woldingham School, Miles will be one of the speakers at the event which we are sure will be extremely successful.

New Term, New Videos!

So the 2012-2013 school year is nearly upon us, it seems like yesterday that everyone was leaving for the Summer holiday (hasn't it gone fast) and then there were the GCSE & A Level exam results. We would like to congratulate everyone who achieved the grades they were hoping for! We are ready here at Affixxius for the back to school rush in September and are working hard to complete the school projects for the new term. We also have some interesting new projects that are to be edited soon, we cannot wait to see the finished results! Keep your eyes open for the September addition of the Affixxius Newsletter that will be released on September the 4th and finally, we would also like to congratulate Tim & Jenni who will be getting married this weekend!

After a scorching few days we are now back to reality! Rain again... It's not stopping Team GB and it's not stopping us either! August is just around the corner and filming dates are filling up nicely, to avoid the September rush contact us soon to guarantee those last filming dates. The post production crew are as busy as ever as a lot of projects near their completion date this week ready for the new School term. Where has the Summer gone? The heavy rain hasn't stopped our Production crew who have been up and down the country and are now back in the office sharing with us all the footage they have gathered! Now that the schools are closed for summer the sales team are busy finding new corporate leads, while the editors are enjoying a new office addition: Rocky the Dog!! The good news is the weather looks likely to improve next week, keep your fingers (and toes!!) crossed!

After the success at the IOSH exhibition in March, we are now preparing for the Safety and Health exhibition at the NEC on the 15th - 17th May, if you are attending the exhibition visit Jo and Brenda in Hall 1, Stand E79, for more information about how bespoke video material can be implemented into a health and safety environment for training and induction purposes. This week has also been busy for the filming crew, on Monday and Tuesday the crew were at the Nottingham Playhouse filming for the new NCCC campaign, we managed to take a few pictures of the shoot and will post them soon!

IOSH Exhibition

Affixxius will be attending the IOSH Exhibition on the 6^th and 7^th of March along with over 100 other health and safety exhibitors. IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) is the largest health and safety organisation in the world and will be holding their annual exhibition in Manchester next week. It is an ideal event to gain advice regarding health and safety within the workplace, inform organisations of best practice guidelines and for us, the opportunity to present our health and safety portfolio and show organisations how bespoke video can be implemented to train and inform in a health and safety environment. It is vital that the appointed individual has an excellent 'Front of House' manner and is confident and polite when dealing with customers. This mannerism should go hand-in-hand with a firm grasp of logistical organisation, with a key element of the position being the organisation and preparation of shoots for a huge range of customers. This can potentially involve the sourcing and booking of talent, locations, crew accommodation and all other required logistics. A keen sense of organisation is vital, as is a full UK Driving License.

A successful 2010 and an even better 2011

Affixxius Productions would like to thank all of their clients for a wonderful 2010. Even with December being mainly covered in snow, we were still able to complete many projects including Stapleford Park, Autobar, Taylor Bloxham, Gateway College and Leicester Tigers to name just a few. January is already a very busy month with filming taking place this week in Paris and meetings booked for Scotland, Sheffield and London.

Miles Latham made it to the finals of the Institute of Directors Young Director of the Year 2010 and this year, 2011, Affixxius Productions will be aiming to win many more awards.

Here's wishing all of our clients, established and new a very successful and profitable 2011.

Affixxius were asked to produce a campaign for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club's twenty20 season, with video as the 'big gun' to be shown before every home game on the big screen down at Trent Bridge. The 'Put Some Colour in your Cricket' campaign was then launched onto every bus and billboard across the city to get more people down to the games and was a huge success, with the support helping Notts Outlaws get to the Twenty20 final at the Rose Bowl.

The video below shows Samit Patel smashing cricket balls exploding with paint, which was all genuine....no CG was used here I'm afraid, just look at the sky sports clips on YouTube for the proof. This is a fine example of the kind of work we do at Affixxius Productions, effective video marketing at it's best! Watch this video now in stunning High Definition on YouTube.
