Well, honestly its a sort of way to do things in the brave new world out there . To put it simply:

Blog a lot - People want to hear /read your views
Use AdSense - AdSense makes sense

Make it easy for others read your stuff. ( Large letters and more white space )
Better still podcast your stuff. - People would prefer to be lazy if they could afford to.

AJAX stands for Asynchronous JavaScript And XML

AJAX is an acronym for Asynchronous JavaScript And XML. What AJAX is not, is a new programming language, What it is ,however is simply a new technique for creating better, faster, and more interactive web applications. You are right, Rich Internet Appilcations are in. AJAX / Ajax is a among other things a Buzz word. In reality its a way to get done more in a single screen . It can also help you save page refreshes. The customers / users who come to you site can see lot of neat stuff into a single page. While this article gives you a quick intro what it can do is not what is in focus. So essentially it is to let a developer / tech enthusiast how to go about getting started quickly. To here is what you need to know before hand 1) HTML 2) JavaScript 3) ServerSide Scripting (any ) : JSP/ PHP /ASP. 4) XML 5) CSS Yeah itsa bunch ! But hey this is the where the brave developer is going. We will use PHP in this article as it is the most popular web technology. In the conventionl Web App the web browser is fetching all pages . This is true of AJAX too, the difference is in an AJAX App your code running in the browser does the same. Imporant functions in JavaScript that you need to know are : getElementById(); getElementsByTagName(); createElement(); removeElement(); replaceChild() ; Now that we know what the pre-reads are , let look at the core stuff. As mentioned before , we need to send requests to the web server form our code. Thats right our code. Here is what we do.

In this open world , we have deiced to keep atleast a few things open . We will here on be adding some of our project experiences here on:

One-On-One

As a general observation  for those who are new  to Ecommerce , I would like to point out that your paymentgateway is different from your mechant account. The Merchant account is where your money goes after a successful credit card payment.  The Payment gateway  such  as authorize.net simply execute the transaction for you. One more jargon you will hear is SSL . This is allows your browser to communicate securely without disclosing to others vital info such as your credit card number etc.
Heavy Shipping

Recently we created a eCommerece site . One of the intersting shippers for this company was FreightQuote . Freightquote can get you shipping info from many vendors at one go . This is very efficient.  If you have not looked at freight quote so far , I strongly suggest you take a look. Almost all partes I have worked with have a strong affinity for authorize.net  as a payment  gateway.


Linux To the Rescue

Lately we moved a notebook to Linux , to our surprise we found  it  great to use . As usual it took about 20 /40  mins to set it  up  and  half a day to decide on the tools to install. Once that was done we found the setup superior to NT/XP/ Win 2000.
One of the side benifits we got outof it was Cost effctiveness . Honestly , we could recommed SuSe Linux for End user computing now. Why else do you the Microsoft keeps a few of these in its line of sight . I also heard that Vsita is going to be a MAJOR memory hog !

What We also here is that MS is Planing for a free Office ( on linux too im told) .IF that happens a lot MFC apps can migrate to Linux . We dare Microsoft to try this.  For what its worth , Cute alone is not good enough for a OS , it has to be efficient too !

Some notes:

AmroK : A Media Player that can play streams ( podcasts and mp3) .

Kaffine : Video Player

Konquorer: A file Manager that is Lightyears ahead of Windows Explorer.

A Shell that can do  quite a few things .

A Sound recorder / Editor ( including wave patern)

Video Editor for home / Pros

Open Office : A zero cost replacement for MS office

Back up and restore tools .

Postit Stlye Sticky notes ( that you can even send across the network)

Well here is what I relly loved , If I shutdown  the machine while running a few apps , when i relogin they are all there .

Some days ago we had moved a few machines to Linux. The whole experience was wonderful. One of our developers wanted Flash 8 or above . Intially we could not find one. Later we dicovered that Flash 8 plugin was not released for Liunx . Worried , DONT BE!  All you need is this http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer9.html. YES indeed FLASH PLAYER 9 FOR LINUX.

IE 7 has been relased. However a  second bug was dicovered . Microsoft is still in denial about the the bug :

Just one week after claiming that users of MicrosoftÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s Internet Explorer 7 browser could be at risk of an online attack, Danish security vendor Secunia is reporting a new bug in the browser.

The bug allows hackers to place a fake Web address in one of the browserÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s pop-up Windows, and could be used to trick a victim into inadvertently downloading something from what appeared to be a trusted website. Secunia has described the flaw in an advisorySo Does firefox , but its not explotable! Microsoft need to fix this. Lets hope they do some good to us.

SEO needs to be performed to get you more worth form your site. Below are some tips

	Create a lot a readable text
	The  text thus created must not be on a image
	Give importance to the title tag and meta tags
	Get more links coming on to your sites
	Get your pages Indexed.
	Check your page rank from time to time.

Readable text /No text on images :

Search engines Run bots. Bots are programs that run at regular intervals to inform search engines of the new content. They only recognize text content (tech: text/html , plain/text ) . Ensure you have good quality and relevance of content. This is the first and most important step. Only after this will you be able to reap any mileage out of your effort.

Title Tag:

The Title tag contains a lot of importance to sarch engines. Make sure they are relevent and hot topic to get more clicks.

Get More Links coming in to your site:

The ONLY correct way to do this is have quality content. If not almighty google will slap your site down like wordpress.com ( keep in mind no spam ) and dont duplicate your own or others content.
 Get your page indexed: 

Submit your site to yahoo and google and make sure they are indexed. (article will follow)
Once your have done this much see your site gradually gain coverage.

Looking backwards: 

Once you have been indexed and a lot of pages of yours turn up make sure your site stays there . Update the content. Keeps the search engines informed of change.
