My first wall climbing experience! Sebelum ni my sis pernah ajak wall climbing with her friends, I refuse because busy (alasan) dan malas (alasan). Plus bila teringat wall climbing mesti terbayang, "Eh boleh naik ke aku ni? Dah la berat, bontot ni boleh naik ke?!". So narrow minded. Kawan adik aku, Bob cakap "BOLEH". Itu jer jawapan dia setiap kali aku tanya. Like hellooo Afra, nama dia BOB ok. Bob terror wall climbing and bouldering. What does that mean? Maknanya kau tiada alasan.

Sabtu lepas 25 Feb 2012 terus ajak bob wall climbing.

Bila dapat support from the group I conquer my fear. Menggigil. Cuak. Boleh ke ni? Sampai ke ni? Semua terletak pada kekuatan minda. Alhamdulillah dapat jugak sampai di atas using all my body strength. Woot! Proud of myself. Self pat on the back :)

Guess who got 4 side dishes for a quarter meal?

I am such a boring eater. I always ordered the same thing every single time. For quarter meal: Aromatic rice, garden pasta salad and garlic parsley potato.

One fine day, the waitress gave me one wrong side dishes. I was like, "Dik, saya tak order mac and cheese". Adik tu dah gelabah. Rilek la dik, pergi tukar balik ya sayang oi.. Budak ni memang innocent gila, "Oh! Sorry sangat-sangat kak! Sorry ya". So she came back to the table with 4 side dishes... What?! I was about to ask "Kenapa ada lebih side dishes" adik tu dah mencelah "Oh yang ni kita bagi" sambil senyum.

Perut pun senyum.

Babies are born smiling

3-D ultrasound imaging has captured vivid pictures in which developing babies are smiling in the womb, says Gutman, the CEO of Healthtap, Palo Alto, California-based healthcare social networking company. “Even before birth, babies seem to be practicing this uniquely human expression.” Initially babies smile in their sleep, but by three months of age, they learn they can inspire smiles in others through a deliberate smile—launching one of the first childhood games: the “smile exchange,” as the American Academy of Pediatrics terms this milestone in infant development.

We can detect a smile from more than 300 feet away

That’s more than twice the distance at which we can distinguish other facial expressions. It’s thought that this ability evolved so we could quickly tell friend from foe and react accordingly. Studies at both the Institute of Cognitive Science, in France, and the University of Manchester, in the UK, separately report that a smile can even make us feel that a complete stranger looks familiar.

Like yawning, smiling is contagious

Swedish studies show that seeing joyful expressions on other people’s faces actually compel us to smile, whether we want to or not. The researchers also found it’s hard to scowl when watching someone else smile. Big smiles are linked to better health and greater romantic success. A study at University of California Berkeley analyzed yearbook photos of female students at age 21 and then looked at the women’s well-being and marital satisfaction 30 years later. By measuring the size of the smiles in the photos, the researchers were able to predict how happy and long-lasting the women’s marriages were likely to be and how well they scored on standardized tests of physical and psychological well-being. Those with the widest grins consistently ranked highest in all categories.

The emotion of emoticons

Smiles vary by nationality. In the US, it’s all about the mouth, while in Japan, the emphasis on “smiling with the eyes,” or as Tyra Banks calls it on America’s Next Top Model, a “smize.” That’s explains the difference in smiley emoticons in America : - ) and those in Japan ^ _ ^. Both cultures, however, share the belief that emails are often misinterpreted because people can’t see facial cues to tell when a message is intended to be humorous.

Kids smile more than 400 times a day

While boys and girls smile equally, Gutman reports, women smile more often than men do, probably due to cultural factors. A study of male West Point graduates found that smiling in photos was linked to lower achievement in the military, probably because grinning soldiers would be perceived as less dominant. Overall, more than 30% of adults smile more than 20 times a day and less than 14% of us smile less than 5 times a day.

Grins make us healthier

Ingatkan nampak hantu ke apa haha. Yang paling epic, lepas balik dari indoor games malam tu boleh pulak cik tikus selamba lalu tak beri salam. Pergh. Bikin jiwa kacau jer.

Dia siap tutup telinga masa jalan. Mungkin tak tahan dengar kitaorang jerit kot.

10 minit kemudian semua hilang suara. Nak masuk lagi? Memang tak ah...

JAKARTA: Mungkin tidak ramai wanita mengetahui fakta ini, lebih 80 peratus daripada kalangan mereka di seluruh dunia tersilap saiz pakaian dalam khususnya bra atau coli.

Akibatnya, wanita terbabit menghadapi masalah sakit punggung atau tulang belakang dalam jangka panjang dan apabila dibiarkan berlarutan padahnya mungkin bertambah kronik.

Dr Magiliene Rosalina berkata, seorang chiropraksi (ahli terapi penyakit tulang belakang), menggunakan bra yang kurang tepat atau tidak sesuai menyebabkan kerosakan kekal terhadap payudara.

“Bila bra terlalu ketat, payudara anda akan ditekan sehingga menghalang peredaran darah dan itu boleh menyebabkan kegatalan kepada penggunanya.

“Namun, apabila terlalu longgar pula, payudara anda akan kendur kerana tiada sokongan secukupnya, justeru penting untuk menggunakan bra yang tepat setiap hari,” katanya ketika rancangan bual bicara ‘The Right Support - Sorella’.

Rosalina mendedahkan, antara 70 hingga 80 peratus wanita di dunia menggunakan ukuran bra yang salah.

Malah, tujuh daripada 10 wanita di Indonesia tidak sedar pentingnya kesihatan dengan menjaga payudara.

Menurut alumni fakulti kedoktoran umum Universiti Trisakti itu, payudara boleh berubah ukuran pada masa tertentu dan bra tidak sesuai dengan bentuk payudara akan membuatkannya tidak selesa dan memberi kesan jangka panjang yang cukup buruk.

“Kes penyakit berkaitan bra gagal dikesan secara langsung. Biasanya doktor mengenal pasti ketika pesakit mengadu sakit punggung, dan apabila diperiksa ternyata ia akibat salah ukuran coli,” katanya.

Pengurus Pemasaran Sorella, Lucia Niken, berkata kempen ‘Right Support’ diadakan bagi membantu wanita Indonesia memilih bra yang tepat serta sesuai dengan payudara masing-masing ke arah membantu mereka menjalani cara hidup sihat.

STEP 1: Measure for band size:

Keeping the measuring tape parallel with the ground, measure around your bra directly under your bust after expelling all air from your lungs - you want this measurement to be as small as possible. Round all fractional measurements to the nearest whole number.

If the measurement is even, add 4"
If the measurement is odd, add 5"

STEP 2: Measure for cup size:

Standing straight, with your arms at your side, measure at the fullest part of your bust (while wearing a non-padded bra) making sure the measuring tape is parallel with the ground and not binding.
Round all fractional measurements to the nearest whole number.

Subtract your band measurement (step 1) from your cup measurement (step 2). Generally, for each inch in difference, the cup goes up by one size.See the cup size conversion chart here.

Example:
Step 1: 34" under measurement +4" = 38" band
Step 2: 40" over measurement
Step 3: 40" - 38" = 2" or Cup "B"
Your size would be 38B
