Hey Beautiful People! I'm excited to share my new Wig Unit I made myself. This hair was provided by Kinkycurlyyaki Hair company. I got 3 1/2 bundles of Coarse yaki plus a 14 inch Lace Closure. I bleached and dyed the hair using Adore Violet gem & African Violet. I curled the hair with a wand and brushed everything out. This is the Results!

I couldn't help but buy this dope Black shirt with Plaid Sleeves that are removable. I paid 10$ for this in the sale section in forever 21!

I'M BACK!!! I'm sorry I haven't been blogging lately, I've just been caught up with life. When I finally had a chance to blog, I was very afraid. I didn't know what to say, what to wear, and I gained a little bit of weight. I've just been going through a lot of thinking and brainstorming on ideas that I want to share with you all. I also decided that I wanted to return to my blog with an better mindset. I want to show you my hood, my culture, different hairstyles, and my personal style.

It's always a hassle to find comfortable heels or shoes for size 10 feet. So, I was kind of excited when I bought my black heels from Zara. They're very sturdy and I can walk in them for a few hours. I recommend them for those who are sizes 9-11. Rainbow also has a faux version of these heels for about $30. Although they aren't true to size, they're pretty comfortable if you go a size up.

I’m Nigerian ; yoruba to be exact & I’m 21year old Hairstylist based in Harlem,NY. I’ve been doing hair for about 5years now (I love what I do).I own a vintage online shop called susyscloset.com where you can get dope affordable vintage clothes online. I also do wardrobe styling and photography on the side. I did work for Lydia forson, Face2faceafrica.com, NYFW, AFWNY, Alexfolzi.CA and many more just to name a few. I have an associates degree in Business Management and I am current working on My licence to be certified in cosmetology and esthiology. I am a typical razz awon ghetto girl lol I eat garri and milk like any other African hahaha. One of my dreams is becoming the top of the world stylist owning a natural salon in every state that will have consultants on natural hair and etc. One of The Reason why I named my blog African Creature was because When I was Young I was always called mean names about being African and kids used to make fun of me and call me an african monster, african booty scratcher,ugly blacky, mean names.I was tortured by alot of kids. As I grew up I realized How beautiful I was from my personality inside and out. I don’t believe in the word “UGLY” because what is Ugly to you may be Beautiful to someone else. Ugly is such a Harsh Term that you might use it to a person that has a horrible personality. So When I created the term “African Creature” it’s sort of an Alter Ego. I use the term I was teased with before and made it into something positive.

Went to Queens,Ny to hang with friends and thrift (my favorite thing to do) . I bought 100 dollars worth of items, I got 4 pair of boots, 3 winter coats, 8 tops, 6 Blazers, 2 Bags, 8 Sweaters and one plate of food lol. You can't beat that. My outfit is all thrifted accept for the jacket. I got the jacket from susyscloset.I have an extra one in sizes X-Large that I will be putting up for sale. My jersey shirt is from my Boyfriends closet I love wearing my boyfriends clothes they fit comfortable and its much easier than shopping for menswear clothes. My skirt was from forever 21 for about 10 dollars and I found those Shades in my house lol.

Yarn Braids & African Girls

I just did My Yarn Braids!! I decided to do my braids instead of The Yarn Dreads. I love them. They are about 26'inches long and took me about 8hours. I added Shells on them and hair accessories to give it a little Life, later on I decided to wrap it like a Beehive. I just kept wrapping all the braids around till i got to the top (I used no pins).

My wardrobe is all thrifted, My dress was about $4, My Boots were about $7 My Bag was about $8 all from salvation army.The dress My friend Rain is wearing will be on SusysCloset.com Soon! Also Susyscloset.com is undergoing Maintenance and will be up as soon as I am satisfied with the merchandise and the image of the site. I will be making alot of African print bangles for cheap cheap prices and I will be customize alot of items that have some type of culture in them.

Today is Snowing but I decided to wear something less of a bundle. I love my skirt which is available on susyscloset.com , I paired it with a thrifted blazer I bought from salvation army. I did my hair about 2 weeks ago at the African shop. It is called Goddess Braids if anyone is wondering. They charge $10 dollars a braid but i'm sure if you compromise they'll do it for you cheaper. I took them out now because my birthday is coming up and I want to do a popping weave (That I will be installing and styling myself).

Nigerian Independence

Every year I always enjoy myself at the Nigerian Independence Parade.The Day of the parade each year I cook a whole feast and invite friends over then we all go to the parade together. I cooked Fried rice, Fried Chicken and Fried Plantain. Mmmhhmmmmmm So good!!!!!! We danced a little and had our own celebration before we left for the parade. I met up with some awesome people and we took millions of pictures. I can't wait for next year to meet some more awesome people, eat more jollof rice and dance!!!

Hey Loves!!! I did my hair this week and I decided to do 2strand twist 20inches. It took me about 2 days to do and I used 12 packs of kanekalon hair. The hair gets smaller when you twist it that's why I used so much, I dipped them in hot water when I was done. My Haitian friend Tarsha in the middle, has her real hair left out and its equivalent to 14inches of Thick hair, I LOVE IT. My Nigerian friend on the right Nnenna has 22 inches of braided box braids. She wanted her hair to have the Brandy look, I love it also. These Braided Hairstyles are great Protective styles for any type of weather

New York Fashion week has been great so far. I went to many shows and events and this Wednesday I Enjoyed Ugo

Mozié's "Aston Mozie" spring 2012 exhibit. The leather, the colors, the snakeskin, the simplicity of the colors coordinated together was beyond brilliant. I went with some close friends of mine and we met tons of inspiring talented individuals. Designers, Makeup artists, Photographers, Models and more. People like Coco & Breezy, Fola Love, Tiffany B. chanel, Omarion, Diandra forest(one of the models) was at attendance. The Presentation started out with a little fashion show then a live display downstairs of his work.

My shorts where about $7.00 from h&m. My shoes were about $30.00 dollars from a cheap shop in canal street. I saw the shoes in 3 different stores already Rainbow and If I'm not wrong necessary clothing. My bag was about $5.00 in h&m.

Dreadlocks?

So Yesterday I decided to do "Fake Dreadlocks". I did them myself. I used Yarn to them and It took my approximately 15hours due to the fact that I was doing them myself. My Fake dreads are about 18-20inches but i will be extending them soon to about 22-24inches so I can do some cool updos. I will be creating a tutorial soon so everyone can try them on their own. Africa Fashion Week New York x African Creature

As some of you know This week was Africa Fashion Week NY.AFWNY is a three day event showcasing the talent and work of African designers and I attented as Press for OmoNaija Magazine and Re-presenter for Face2faceAfrica. The show presented alot of Designers work like Korto Momolu, Blackbird Designs, Kachi Designs,Josefa Dasilva, Tori Famuyiwa, Design by U and many more... There were people from all over the World. I felt proud to be african and being able to be apart of this event. Many Familiar faces attended some like (Omarion-Musician, Ugo Mozie-Stylist Coco and Breezy-Eye wear Designers, Korto Momolu from Project Runway). I haven't been blogging due to the fact of my busy schedule but I'm back now. I was in downtown Brooklyn,Ny yesterday for an event and I was feeling the vibe. So much Afrocentric people, so much afros, dreads and braids. I loved it. I bought my shirt at a shop near my house for 10 bucks. I love it. My necklace was a bunch of bracelets I dont use, I put it on a string and tied it around my neck. I bought my sandals from Marshall's for about $7.00. My bag is from h&m for about $5.00.

This week I payed my parents a visit in Milwaukee,Wisconsin the land of Cheese. I've always loved my Mom 's wardrobe and I decided to take most of my mom's old clothes back to NYC. Everything fit!! I loved them here is one outfit I put together.
