Hurricane Relief - how you can help (National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) - information on how you can help

Maryland VOAD for local organizations & preparedness information

  • DO NOT SELF DEPLOY - resources are limited.
  • Make cash donations to ESTABLISHED disaster response organizations – see for complete list.
  • UNNTRAINED unaffiliated volunteers, and donations collected without a destination can complicate an already stressed area.
  • Follow the directions of local authorities.
  • Remember - disasters happen qucikly; recovery will take time and patience.
For those that want to do more than give money - 
  • Give blood
  • Create or update a personal disaster plan 
  • Share your plan with family.
  • Check FB for family safety check-in

To get the most from your partner status New Partner Staff Orientations. Offered once a month, learn how to optimize the use of to increase visibility, recruit more volunteers and identify skilled volunteers. Sessions are free, but registration is requested.
