IMPORTANT - volunteer wisely
  • DO NOT SELF DEPLOY - resources are limited.
  • Make cash donations to ESTABLISHED disaster response organizations – see for complete list.
  • UN-TRAINED, UN-affiliated volunteers, and donations collected without a destination can complicate an already stressed area.
  • Follow the directions of local authorities.
  • Remember - disasters happen quickly; recovery will take time and patience.
For those that want to do more than give money - 
  • Give blood. 
  • Get trained. Learn appropriate ways to respond.
  • Create or update a personal disaster plan 
  • Share and practice your plan with family.
  • Develop or Update a communications plan.
