I hope you are all enjoying the start of the season I'm sure some of you are thrilled that your team is doing great and some of you are hanging your heads in shame lol. Either way I'm sure most of you enjoy a good tailgate or get-together at the game or your own place and that means crazy good but sinful food. I love going to live sporting events and it can be tough when you're trying to watch your weight or like me, getting prepared for a figure competition. I have some tips to help you enjoy the season as well as keep that six pack from turning into a keg ;)

BBQ: BBQ sauce is LOADED with sugar so if your working towards a healthier body u can easily make tasty grilled food by using hickory wood chips(get these in the charcoal section of your grocery store) wrapped in foil on the grill. Use Mrs. Dash and your favorite juice(lemon, lime, pineapple or grapefruit, etc.) for seasoning instead of sugary marinades and salt to season your chicken, fish, veggies. You CAN tailgate healthy with tasty food :)

Bring your food to the event: I live in South GA where football is a Religion and the concession stand smells of funnel cakes and other fried treats so When I go to a game I take all of my healthy food with me in a cooler so I'm not tempted to cave in and buy a snickers bar or nachos from the concession. Pack slices of extra sweet potatoes instead of buying french fries. My cooler always consists of enough food to last through the event and the ride home if its a long drive.

H2O: Bring bottled water with you and drink it between your healthy meals and snacks it helps me stay full and less tempted. Beware of sodas(esp diet!) and energy drinks packed with sugar and sugar substitutes...If you want juice just bring some pieces of fruit instead as most juices have the same if not more sugar than some carbonated beverages. I always keep protein powder with me or I drink one before I get to the game to keep me full for awhile, at least til Overtime :).

Team "Spirits": For those who enjoy a good beer or other alcohol use caution as these beverages are loaded with carbs and some have just as much sugar as a dessert from Applebees! Fitness Magazine suggests that you stick to no more than two 5-ounce glasses of wine, 12-ounce bottles of beer, or 1-1/2-ounce glasses of liquor a day.

Remember its okay to treat yourself every once in awhile but these tips will help you survive the season and enjoy it as well! Stay tuned for more tips and recipes for the football season!

Xoxo
Tiffan8or

THE GIANTS AFTER THE 31-27 WIN IN THE LOCKER ROOM!!!!

Tiffany Morgan is bringing fitness tips to agiantsfanrant.com!!!

Tiffany Morgan (AKA Tiffan8or) I am a Figure Competitor and Fitness Model. you start blogNYG.com? and become a featured writer on SNY's Giants Blog?

BlogNYG was conceived several years ago after I got tired of writing for several other sites and blogs. The original name was Blue Horizons but that name was not football-centric. I was recruited for SNY by Anthony Derosa and Matt Cerrone of Metsblog after several of my articles were published nationally by FoxSports.com, CBSSportsline and Sports Illustrated. I am currently the longest tenured columnist at SNY

I recently opened profootballnyc.com which covers both the Jets and Giants

With the season being what is was this year for the Giants...where do you see the new season going?

They will be better inherently because they can’t possibly have as many key injuries as they did last season, plus the addition of Antrel Rolle gives them a legitimate cover safety.

Is Coughlin still the best fit for Big Blue as a coach?

The ownership believes so. I’m not so sure he is any longer, though….I thought he should have retired after the 2008 season…his message has wearing thin again, Amani Toomer is right…I think he might retire after this season or next and give way to an assistant…..(enter Perry Fewell or another name here)….his contract ends after next season, so that means the Giants will have to make a decision to extend him before 2011 so he is not a lame duck coach at that point….they may ask him to leave rather than do that…

What's the biggest weakness for the Giants right now?

They have two, and it is not what the mainstream thinks: the passing game and defending the pass. In order to succeed you need to do both. The NFL is a larger scale version of arena football. Look at the teams that are winning these days….franchise QBs with an army of receiving options….

On offense, they need to get the tight ends more involved and figure out how to use Ramses Barden, Kevin Boss and Travis Beckum along with the other receivers. They also need a RB that can receive out of the backfield.

On defense they need to – believe it or not- upgrade the pass rush and get more secondary help. Everyone wants a linebacker in the draft. Bad move..the game is played in front of and behind the linebackers these days….Rolando McClain isn’t going to help them stop the players that have been killing them –Desean Jackson, Jason Witten, Miles Austin, Santana Moss et al….

Do you think letting Shockey go was still a good choice? Now that the Saints have won it all?

He had to go. His behavior was childish and downright embarrassing. I won’t discount his contributions to the Saints’ success, but the Giants are better off without him. He did not work well with Eli. With the draft choices they received for him they took Clint Sintim – a pass rusher – and Rhett Bomar, a QB they can develop behind Eli…

Any word on rumors about the Gmen?

Don’t believe anything you hear or read, that’s for sure. They are under pressure to win, and they will do anything right now that will make them better, but they are excellent at not tipping their hand. The PSL bomb shattered a good portion of the traditional fan base and the Jets are making headlines daily. They have to keep up, so I think you may see a trade or two in the next 2-3 weeks or so because the uncapped year crushed the normal free agent market.

With the inconsistency of the Giants' receivers, who is the "weakest link?"

They are actually a pretty impressive group. Jerry Reese did a great job here. Steve Smith is an excellent receiver. Hakeem Nicks is a playmaker and Mario Manningham is explosive. Domenik Hixon and Derek Hagan can make plays as well. Ramses Barden needs to step up at the pro level. The odd man out could be Sinorice Moss, and even he has value….

Coughlin has visited Plaxico a few times in prison, does this mean Big Blue will take him back after he gets out?

I don’t see it. He’ll be mid-30’s by the time he gets out and will have been away from football for 3 years. Coughlin is a very religious man and he is supportive of a lot of people. Plaxico needs support and TC has been providing that, but as for Burress resuming his playing career at all or with the Giants might be a long shot….

Quarterback Jim Sorgi..what's the big deal here?

Eli hasn’t missed a game in his Giants’ career, so the backup role is of less importance. Sorgi is a smart guy who understands this and knows from the outset that he may never get to play. Plus they have Bomar in the wings…..

What should the Giants be worried about this season?

Kenny Phillips’ knee. This kid is a budding star but that knee may keep him from becoming that star. They already brought in Rolle, but I see them adding another big safety because Phillips may not be able to help them in 2010.

Who will be the biggest threat for the Giants in the east division?

It’s always the Eagles. They can beat the other two, but for some reason Philly’s got their number. I know McNabb is on the block, but they could be better off without him…Kolb reminds me a little of Matt Schaub or Philip Rivers – tough and accurate….

Any last advice or predictions for the agiantsfanrant readers and Big Blue fans?

Don’t buy into these mock drafts…think about the game as it is played on the field…a MLB is probably the last thing the team should take in Round 1 of the draft. Its more of a speed and finesse game these days….hope they are smart and do something to either promote their passing game or pass defense….

Any shout outs?(Twitter addresses only)

Well…..JohnFenBlogNYG is my Twitter…I also have ProFootballNYC and giantsblog…my favorites to follow are skadoodles (Ernie Palladino) and Inside_Football (Pat Traina)

Plaxico Burress: Did The Giants Make A Mistake? - Big Blue View

Plaxico Burress: Did The Giants Make A Mistake? - Big Blue View:

'via Blog this'

Osi is set to come back monday!!

Osi Umenyiora's sore right knee does not require immediate surgery, setting the stage for his probable return Monday to practice, according to his agent, Tony Agnone.

Umenyiora was cleared to return after undergoing a second opinion in Atlanta on Thursday afternoon.
