Edentity Announces Release of Agility Content Management System Version 2.3

Latest Iteration of Agility CMS Adds Tagging, Google Sitemap Support

Edentity Web Systems Inc. today announced the release of the latest version of their Agility Content Management System. The new release includes support for content tagging, along with the developer interface to add the tags to the website. It also includes full support for Google Webmaster Tools Sitemaps. Developers can point the Google Sitemap tool at an XML document on the site that describes the pages of the site in a way that Google can understand.

The new release also includes an upgrade to the latest version of the Telerik RadEditor content editing control for editing rich text content on the site. The new editor control, built from the ground up by Telerik, improves performance and streamlines the user interface for content editing tools such as an improved table wizard, link builder and image/document management utility.

Bug fixes, API updates and general performance enhancements were also included.

March Update of Agility CMS Adds Dashboard, Bookmarking, Amazon S3 Support

March 10, 2009 – TORONTO, CANADA – Edentity Web Systems Inc. today announced the release of the March Iteration of the Agility Content Management System. Each month, a new release of Agility is made available to all users of their software-as-a-service CMS. This release focused on new features.

Updates to the popular ASP.NET-based, hosted CMS include a new dashboard that gives users more information about what is happening with their site. Bookmarking has been added to all pages and content which also show up on the dashboard.

Under the covers, the Agility document repository has been enhanced to support file storage on the Amazon S3 cloud storage environment. Documents can be stored within the Agility database, or switched to S3 by setting up an S3 account and pointing the Agility instance to it. The latest update also supports file propagation on content delivery networks (CDNs) like Akamai, Limelight and Amazon CloudFront.

Lastly, developers will rejoice at an update that simplifies linking content together. This Agility Framework update will allow developers to create more sophisticated modules in less time that are easier to work with for end users.

May Update of Agility CMS Includes Upgraded Editor and New Content Structuring Capabilities

May 15, 2009 – TORONTO, CANADA – Edentity Web Systems Inc. today announced the release of the May Iteration of the Agility Content Management System. Every 2 months, a new release of Agility is made available to all users of their software-as-a-service CMS. This release focused on productivity.

Updates to the ASP.NET-based, hosted CMS include an upgraded content editor that provides better support for image and document management, more control over image formatting, more options for styling content and an improved table wizard.

The main focus of the release was to streamline the management of sophisticated content architectures without sacrificing usability. Content can now be related to other content, unique fields can be established across the system and page templates have more options for default settings.

In total, 20 new enhancements and over 100 tweaks and bug fixes were made according to the Agility CMS blog.

Edentity Web Systems Launches Agility Managed Mobile Site for Cineplex Entertainment

October 29, 2009- TORONTO, CANADA- Edentity Web Systems announced the launch of the Agility managed mobile site for Cineplex Entertainment (Cineplex). The new mobile site enables users to search for theatre and show times directly from a mobile device at m.cineplex.com, and provides Cineplex with the opportunity to interact with their consumers wherever they go.

Gary Fearnall, Vice President, Interactive for Cineplex Entertainment states, “Development of the mobile site was surprisingly easy thanks to the flexibility of Agility. We were able to repurpose all of our existing content and data in a timeframe that was exceedingly short. The best part for us is that we don’t need to do any additional production work in order to support the mobile site.”

The new mobile site is managed with the same Agility Content Management System back-end operation as the main Cineplex.com website. Mobile functionality and search engines for websites have become increasingly popular with the mainstream nature of the IPhone, Blackberry and other smart phones. Mr. Fearnall was enthusiastic about the ability of the mobile site, saying “We are impressed with the instant bump in traffic from mobile devices.” The site was designed by Cineplex to work specifically on these devices, and will make it easier for movie-goers to search and find the theatre location closest to them and show times.

The process of mobilizing the Cineplex site through Agility was easily managed by the Edentity web team. Andre Small, a developer at Edentity, was quoted as saying “We were very pleased to see how easy it was to implement the Mobile Cineplex site on the Agility platform.”

October Release of Agility Includes Improvements to Templates, Meta Tagging and Performance

October 6, 2009- TORONTO, CANADA- Edentity Web Systems Inc. today announced the release of the October Iteration of the Agility Content Management System. After a summer of tweaks and fixes, this release focused on faster performance, and easing the process of changes for templates and content.

Highlights of the update included template page changes, client side saving without the need for a reload, faster workflow actions through the synchronization process, automatic updates of API’s, and finally, the addition of a Publish Recent Changes button. In total, 189 bugs fixes and tweaks were made as well as 31 features and enhancements.

Joel Varty, Director of Research and Development for Agility, was quoted as saying, “We've added a zoom action on the Meta Tag and Script fields on page settings. This will open the same field in a large dialog to allow you to see more of the text at a time. This is especially useful if you have a custom analytics script you need to add to a page and you need to see everything at once.”

The most important aspect of the release was the increased productivity that will be allowed through the faster performance of the workflow actions for the modules with heavy content. From the content manager, working with lists, syncing content to multiple domains, to previewing complex sites, to running reports, to developing sites, the Agility system has been tweaked for much faster performance.

In addition to performance improvements, Edentity has listened to their users and created a Change Template option for each page on the site which allows you to drag and drop the modules from each page to a new template. In addition, a “Publish Recent Changes” button has been created on Pages and Content for when users do not have a specific page selected. This takes you from the recent changes report to the pending publish view, allowing you to see everything that needs to be published from anywhere on the website..
