Of all the stories and reports related to supernatural or paranormal phenomena, the largest number by far originate during use/play of Ouija Boards/spirit game. Talking boards in various forms have been used for thousands of years in attempts to contact spirit entities. During World War II, this craze went through the roof as people attempted to communicate with lost friends and relatives. Virtually everyone has a personal story about something eerie (and often frightening) happening while in the process of playing, which suggests that this is something a little more complicated than a store-bought board game for entertainment, and that it may even be dangerous when used incorrectly.

"Ouija Board" is owned by Parker Brothers. Parker is not the only one who markets talking boards, however, and indeed, a workable rendition of this interesting medium can be made at home using ordinary materials. This brings us to the darker side of talking boards. Many noted mediums, including Edgar Cayce, have strongly warned against their use, relating that they receive thousands of letters and communications from hapless people who have apparently become possessed, or have unleashed an unstoppable stream of paranormal occurrences in their surroundings due to board usage.

In 1944, Manly P. Hall, a noted occultist, wrote this chilling portrayal of his experiences with Ouija Board/Spirit game usage:

"During the last 20-25 years I have had considerable personal experience with persons who have complicated their lives through dabbling with the Ouija board/Spirit game. Out of every hundred such cases, at least 95 are worse off for the experience. . . .I know of broken homes, estranged families, and even suicides that can be traced directly to this source..."

Obviously, many have used Ouija boards/Spirit game without serious ill effects, but the real problem is that once you pick up that board and start trying to conjure up spirits, the outcome becomes very uncertain. Ouija boards/Spirit games are a form of Channeling, and factors that may have an impact on individuals include mental stability, ingrained belief systems, strength of personality, etc. Because we do not know what is actually taking possession of that planchette, or how this process really works, we could be opening doorways for the bad entities as well as the good. For instance, if we pick up a Ouija Board/Spirit game and try to contact Elvis, and we really believe that we are talking to Elvis, we will be much more vulnerable to manipulation and possibly even possession by the entity who has come through that opened doorway - who is very likely not Elvis at all.

As suggested in the Parker Brother's brochure, the mainstream theory regarding use of Ouija boards is that it is the subconscious of one or more of the participants making the planchette move. This is likely often the case - but not always. We suggest you to be very careful since the consequences were severe when the game was played in a wrong way. Several tests done by competent researchers have revealed that the planchette moved to spell out words at very high speeds in some sessions during which the participants were blindfolded. Other indications that it may be something more include many reports of physical changes in the vicinity of the Ouija board/Spirit game usage, such as objects moving, lights flashing, sudden temperature changes, and even the planchette moving by itself.

Although nobody really knows for sure what happens during Ouija Board/Spirit game usage, what seems clear is that when used by stable individuals for the right reasons, Ouija Boards/Spirit game are probably the best medium that exists for making contact with supernatural presences. Many of leading mediums and psychics started their careers using this very technique.

***Any attempts to communicate with the dead or other spirits should not be taken lightly and should not be done by the inexperienced.

***There are plenty of stories on the net please take some time and read some of them before considering playing the Sprit Game.

***The board itself is not dangerous, but the form of communication that you are attempting can be.

The game begins with a board having the English alphabets (A-Z) and Arabic numerics (1-0) and four words in the middle 'YES', 'NO', 'START' and ‘Good Bye’. The same can be seen in the picture shown in here. The board with the above mentioned and a coin are essential to start the game. For playing this game a minimum of two persons (maximum three) were required and a viewer to note down the rolling of the coin over the board. Regarding the other viewers it not so important. (Prepare the board as shown above on a paper and stick it to a board to place the paper firm from flying during the play).

1. The play can be started in a dark room (open area during nights also) with a dim light or a candle is required, this will give an atmosphere for spirits to move around.

2. A coin as mentioned above is essential, and minimum two persons (maximum three) are required to hold the coin.

3. Now the coin should be placed on the "START" circle over the board. Players should place their index fingers gently on the coin. They need to close their eyes and should concentrate in inviting the spirits into the game (not required in fact, but must concentrate on the mentioned process).

4. No pressure should be applied so that the coin can move over the board.

5. Patience is required to continue further. any one of the player must call the spirit saying the word "spirit come”, the same must be continued until the coin moves on itself in a circular motion over the board, any preferred names (of the dead) can be mentioned but there is no such thing that the same person will come.

6. When the coin is moved in circular motion or in any way it is said that the spirit has its presence over there.

7. You can question it saying "are you here?" when the coin moves on to the ‘yes’, then it is confirmed that the spirit is there.

8. Any kind of questions can be posed. NO HARSH LANGUAGE.

Strict warning:

1. Never ask for physical proof of the existence of the spirits you attempt to contact. When you "ask for such a sign", you literally open a door between the physical and spiritual world and allow the spirits to enter. As a result, future problems can and often do arise. Mainly spirit possessions may take place.

2. be very serious during the play. Never remove your hand from the coin until the spirit is sent away. Do not play with people who don't believe in it, it doesn't work. The people will try and mess with it, joking around and stuff. Some times they may remove the hand in the middle of the game from the coin. This may create problems so be very careful.

3. Never use any harsh language with the spirits it may lead to any mischance. Be very careful regarding the language.

4. Never use any cameras to record the play.

The replies come through the rolling coin. The one standing beside has to note the rolling of the coin over the board. He needs to mark the alphabets and numbers over which the coin has moved.

Now to send the spirit away players should request the same (spirit). May use any word like "please go now" or “good bye”, but never use harsh language as mentioned before which is very dangerous. Now if the spirit flew away then the coin rests with out any movement. To confirm question it as in the way "are you here" if the response is null (no movement in the coin) it is said that the spirit has gone. Now the players placing their fingers over the coin are supposed to takeoff their fingers simultaneously.

In some cases the spirits never flew away, the spirit moves the coin repeatedly on the "no" option over the board which sates that the spirit is unwilling to go away. Most of the users say that the magical/key word to send the spirits away is number seven. So this number can be used as in this way "please leave, by the time we count seven". It is believed that the spirits will go away by the count of seven and then question “are you here” if the spirit leaves then it is over. If they do not go away repeat the same until they move away. Never panic and never remove the hands from the coin before the spirit goes away. Send it away and then remove your hands from the coin. Never use harsh language to send the spirit away.

Burn the paper or board that is used for the game. The coin that is used shall be spent rather keeping it with you.
