Received this email reminder from Google Adsense. I have received the payment last month but still haven’t go withdraw.

The low exchange of USD to RM make me think twice before withdraw from Western Union. Hope the currency up this week so that I can withdraw it with a higher rate.

Starting March 2010, you are allowed to withdraw money once achieve $50 in your account, using Payoneer and Paypal.

Previous payment threshold was $100 which may a bit too high for beginner. I believe the kindness of Infolinks lowest payment threshold should attract more publishers to join.

If you are withdraw using Bank Wire or regular ACH, the payment threshold will be increased to $400 due to high processing fees. Monthly earnings that less than threshold will be carried over to next month.

First surprise early this week was salary increment, not bad. Follow by Chitika email. It store in junk mail until I can’t believe my eyes. Chitika want to terminate this tech blog from Chitika Premium program! Without a reason. :(

Reason to Drop Chitika

I have use Chitika Premium for more than a year, it contribute about 10% of Adsense earning. Not very much but enough to cover electricity bill each month. Chitika payment on time without problem but only applicable for US search traffic.

Without further delay, I wrote an email to Chitika Support to check on the reason and what can I do to comply with the policy. Receive answer that the advertiser is VERY picky. Is that mean this blog haven’t meet their requirement? I don’t know, but I have been their publisher for more than a year already.

After read How to make LESS money from Chitika (LiewCF), I think it should not much different to drop it. Immediately I remove the ads code, now my earning come mainly from Adsense and Infolinks. Remember, LESS is MORE! Hope to get better result this year! ;)

Are you making money with Chitika? Anyone receive such termination email like myself?

I have decided to give up VirtualBox to run Windows 7. It is too slow for my Ms Access application and other third party software.

The best way to resolve the slow performance is install Windows 7 on its native Windows environment by using Boot Camp for Mac OS. Boot Camp is a build in utility in Mac, for Windows user.

How To Setup Boot Camp?

Boot Camp helps to create Windows partition easily. Go to Applications > Utilities > Boot Camp Assistant, create the Windows partition size you want. 15GB is enough for my 3rd party software + Windows 7.

Once created the partition, restart your Mac and insert Windows installation DVD. Follow on screen instruction to format the newly created Windows partition. You have to be extra careful when format partition. ONLY format the ‘Bootcamp’ partition that you have created. By deleting wrong partition could cause your Mac OS and data gone!

The Windows 7 took sometime to install. Go for a break while waiting. Once completed, restart your Macbook (iMac, MacBook Pro, whatever) while holding ‘Option‘ key when machine starting up. It should prompt 2 choice: Mac OS or Windows. Select Windows to boot up.

Opps..no drivers? Insert Install Mac OS DVD and setup all drivers. Cool! Now Windows 7 run on my awesome Macbook.

My Two Cents

The Boot Camp driver for Broadcom wireless adapter just don’t work. You need to manual setup the Broadcom driver for WinXP in order for it to work.

Multi-touch feature also not fully function in Windows 7. Hope to get the latest driver update, I miss the 3 and 4 fingers swipe. :(

Google Buzz is a new social media tool just launched to connect friends by using Gmail.

You should see the “Buzz” button in side menu after inbox. You could linked buzz to other sites such as Twitter, Blogs, BlogSpot, Youtube, etc. Add what you want to share in “view connected sites”. I myself added in Twitter and AhTim Tech Blog. Which mean whenever activity in twitter and blog, it create post in Buzz to share with my followers.

You may convert your Gmail friends to your blog reader with Buzz. I’m now have 7 followers, and it automatically following 14 people.

Integrate into WordPress Blog

To increase even more traffic, you need to integrate Google Buzz button into blog. The Google Buzz plugin add a buzz button on every page / post. When visitor click on the button, your post’s link and title share on their buzz. In this way you post may reach their friends too, and increase traffic by huge amount.

It is time to update your Garmin GPS Map. My last update was 7 months ago,too old.

The latest MFM GPS Map (Malfreemaps lite v1.63) comes with more new features:

I think this lite version is more than enough for me to travel around Malaysia. But sad thing is it don’t have Mac version. Mean you have to download the EXE map file into your Windows. Extract it then transfer to Garmin GPS. Anyway it is not a big problem.

I like the attractive colors in MFM Map, it make the landmark and POI more recognizable. It said to have “keep left/right” guidance at complex junctions, I may try it when travel around KL. Haven’t update your GPS map yet? Download it here.

My Two Cents

I’m going to Tropical Village Ayer Hitam during this coming CNY holiday. Purposely download the latest map for the trip. Hope we arrive the destination without go to the wrong way.

It is a mini world theme park with World’s famous landmark such as The Great Wall, Lady Liberty of USA, Hollywood and many more. We will travel with family and congregation brother sister this time. I believe we will enjoy the 3D2N holiday there :)

Yesterday helped my friend to check her WiFi router. She need to configure Internet phone (LG070) but not working no matter how hard she tried.

I have an idea to configure the TM WiFi modem (DB108) to act as Internet phone base WiFi station. In order to do this, I need the administrator username and password. Of course it is NOT the linksys modem above, it is a Riger modem which I never heard before.

Found Admin Password in Forum

After made a phone call to Streamyx, they don’t give me the administrator password, just give an normal user account. No choice I have to search it myself from the Internet forum.

With just 2 minutes, found the TM Streamyx Administrator username and password. Would like to share with you all in case you need it in future.

Username: tmadmin

Password: tmadmin

It is so easy to remember since the default TM user account is tmuser with same password. Why can’t I guess it?

Google Adsense is one of the easiest way to make money online for beginner. Newbies might wonder why their ads not appear on the pages.

Here are troubleshooting tips on how to diagnose and solve common issue of your Adsense ads and how to implement it correctly. Of course, first make sure your website / page apply the Adsense program policies. Otherwise, it come appear no matter how hard you have tried.

If it is still not appearing, check few things below before write to Google support team:

  • Did you JUST add the code? Adsense crawler need to visit your page and deliver relevant ads. It could take up to 48 hours or at least 10-20 minutes.
  • Copy incomplete ads code? Make sure you copy the complete code and paste exactly without do any changes. Linebreak or simply press ENTER inside the code will break it then cause prevent ads from showing out.
  • Are you using HTML editor? Must use HTML editor when pasting the ads code. Visual editor or WYSIWYG design view would not display the ads correctly.
  • Are you using a content management system (CMS)? Check for the CMS documentation for Adsense implementation. Some time can get these info easily in forum.
  • Are you using Nested Frames? Avoid nested frames, it may prevent ads from appearing correctly.
  • Javascript enable in browser? Must enable Javascript in order to view ads.
  • Is it dynamically generated page? Check in Adsense Help Center for more information on how to receive targeted ads.

If you’ve done all above but still can’t appear ads, contact Google support team to check on your Adsense account. But so far I didn’t have trouble like this. Frankly, even my youngest brother in secondary school able to implement Adsense into his free Blogspot’s blog. :)
