How To Make Macbook Hibernate

By default, Macbook put into sleep mode when you close lid. Although it wake up very quickly when open lid again, but waste battery power!

I rather wait extra few seconds to startup and save longer battery life, by set it to “hibernate” mode when close lid. Hibernate will save your memory stage into hard disk and shut off computer. It then reload back into RAM and you can continue to work on your files.

There is no GUI to switch to hibernate mode. You have to use some command. But don’t worry, just follow my simple steps:

1. Open Terminal > type “pmset -g | grep hibernate” to determine your current sleep mode. All modes are below, choose the one you want to set.

0 – Legacy sleep mode. It will save everything to RAM upon sleeping but does not support “Safe Sleep”. Very fast sleep.

1 – Legacy “Safe Sleep”. This is the “Safe Sleep”. Everything your laptop goes into sleep, it will save everything to harddisk. Slow on Sleep and Startup.

3 – Default. As described above, when sleeping, contents are saved to RAM. When battery runs out, hibernate occurs.

5 – Behaves as 1 but applicable only for modern Mac that uses “Secure virtual memory”.

7 – Behaves as 3 but applicable only for modern Mac that uses “Secure virtual memory”.

2. In Terminal > type “vi /Users/Username/.bash_profile” and paste the commands below into it

alias hibernateon=”sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 5″
alias hibernateoff=”sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0″

3. Execute “source .bash_profile” in Terminal.

4. Now you can type “hibernateon” to hibernate when close lid, or “hibernateoff” whenever you prefer it to go sleep.

My Two Cents

I’m satisfied with hibernate mode. I use company laptop on day time, only use Macbook at night. So it save quite a lot of power consumption by hibernation.

Safety first. Wear eyeglass and gloves for protection.

Prepare raw material to make soap.

Mix few type of oils together according to calculation.

Measure oil temperature before can mix with the raw material.

Stir it fast until trace. Timing is vital in this part!

Put into the mold quickly after traced.

Keep the mold nicely in the baby bed (warm box) for Saponification.

Cut the soap bar into slices and wait for the saponification process to be complete.

We received enthusiastic response since start to sell online. Sold about 30 pcs just in a week, pretty good sign to start the online business.

Tips: Can’t Activate Windows XP?

Today my staff reinstall a Windows XP computer, but can’t activate it.

I’m very very sure it is a genuine Windows XP CD with license product key. Wierdest is installation id don’t show up, which is needed to activate Windows OS via telephone. Can’t even login to Windows for the first time!

Thought is installation problem. Reinstall the Windows again and yet, the installation id don’t show up at all. No error, nothing.

After googling, don’t find any useful tips. Just know a guy with same problem but at last close case with “unresolved”.

I try an error, restart to safe mode and restart to normal mode again. And you know, it works like magic finger! It can login for the first time, the installation id was shown too.

No reason, no technique, this is what we Windows, plug and pray….

It is frustrating indeed hearing from them saying negative feedbacks like “you can’t do it”, “it is difficult”, “you don’t fit in there”, etc.

These are your closest friends and family so simply ignore what they say. Remember that this is your dream. No one can steal it from you and never allow anyone to grab it away from you. Focus on your enthusiasm and eagerness. Make it your fuel to move on and continue to pursue and be successful in your online business. Establish rapport to new friends in the industry. These people are experiencing similar circumstances and they too need support.

With people of the same goals surrounding you, no one can put down your enthusiasm to pursue your desires.

2. Lack of Knowledge.

In any endeavor knowledge is very important. In starting up an online business, it is essential to have enough knowledge so that you know what you want to achieve and what to do to be successful.

You can do research in the internet to fill in yourself with the appropriate knowledge regarding your new venture. Being knowledgeable can help you gain self-confidence. And with self-confidence you would not fear to move forward towards your desired goals.

3. Not making a list.

Another mistake to avoid is gathering traffic towards your affiliate link without getting your lead into your system. Your leads are very important thus you have to establish rapport by communicating with your clients, build your credibility, and offer products and services that fill their needs. It is very important to build a list. This list of your prospective clients can help you generate sales by forwarding emails to them.

4. Too much automation.

Being human is essential in relating with your customers. The modern way of automation is an amazing thing but you don’t have to rely on it 100 percent. Write your own original blog posts and articles and communicate directly to your customers to answer their questions or whatever they want to know regarding your products and services.

5. Too Ravenous.

Dealing with customers does not mean you always have to think of what you can get from them and how much profit you can earn. Avoid being too ravenous that you tend to every opportunity from your clients without giving back some values in return. A successful business is a give and take process. Providing your customers services and deals can strengthen your business relationship while you will get surprised how your profit multiplies in the process.

Being too greedy may disappoint many customers and the last you will know is being left alone. It is a universal law to give in order to receive.

Remember to stay focused. Use your confidence and enthusiasm to keep yourself motivated. Be sure to offer quality products that will satisfy your customers. Building your new online business may not be really that easy, but if you try to avoid these 5 common mistakes, you can ease things out quickly.

So you don’t know what is SSL? Secure Sockets Layer refer to secure protocol that provide secure connection in the Internet. In simple, it protect you from hacker who want to steal your information.

SSL website is common in websites that provide highly confidential data to guarantee privacy. For example, webmail and shopping sites.

Only I don’t understand who care to protect their search? Tell me if you have specific reason to use Google SSL website?

So you waited for so long wanted to view flash on iPhone, iPod touch or iPad?

Firstly, still no native Flash app for iPhone, yet. But there is workaround to make your iPhone able to “view” flash content, with help of 3rd party app – Cloud Browse.

What is Cloud Browse?

It is available for free download with bandwidth limitations. Of course performance will be slow down. The paid version cost $10 USD a month grant with a full 30 frames per second of video streaming.

Download the free Cloud Browse at iTunes App Store. I know it may not impress much, but is a cool thing to play flash on Apple mobile devices for the very 1st time!

Tablet was here for years. Only Apple can make it a popular form of computer gadget.

For me iPad is just a bigger version of iPod touch (except 3G). I’m iPod user since 2 years ago. It works perfect to suit my needs in pocket. I seldom carry bag, iPad might not convenient to carry along the day.

Google Chrome Browser WON!

Today, Google Chrome has won the war to convert me to it’s user! After read the Web Browser War poll result.

For 1 and half year I prefer Firefox as primary browser because start-up time faster than Chrome browser, and plenty of useful add-ons. But until yesterday I noticed Chrome browser has significant improvement on start-up time and extensions! Surprise me, out of my expectation.

Frankly, the browsing experience is speed in lighting even with extensions enabled. It is spacious and neat too.
