Rainmaker is a fictional superhero from the Gen 13 comic series who has the superpowers of altering the weather and the movement of water with her thoughts. She also has a natural aptitude for combat tactics.

The usually peace-seeking activist was revealed as a lesbian in the second issue of the ongoing series. But despite the character’s fair complexion and light eyes, Fox is sure that physically transforming into Rainmaker is not such a tough job.

“She’s a Native American and I have a little bit of that blood in me. It would be a bit of a stretch-but if Jake Gyllenhaal can be the Prince of Persia, I think that I can do that,” Fox

LiLo is likely to serve in the same all-female facility cell where Paris Hilton was sent in 2007 – the place with a serious zero tolerance no-smoking policy. One of the ‘Mean Girl’ star’s close friends revealed, the jail-bound actress is a “serious chain-smoker” who blows through at least two packs a day.

“The first thing she does when she wakes up is light a cigarette,” TMZ.com quoted a source as saying.

The Transformers star who is regularly listed as one of the world’s most beautiful women caused an enormous row at a coffee shop in West Hollywood, when she was accosted by the fan who praised her repeatedly while his jealous girlfriend watched on, reported National Enquirer online.

“You are definitely the most gorgeous woman on earth. You’re a perfect 10! I’ve never seen anyone more beautiful than you,” said the man.

But before the 23-year-old actress could respond, his jealous lover stormed over and shouted at the unsuspecting movie star.

Fox was clearly unhappy with the scene being caused around her and decided to make her exit. She told the pair, “I just came here to get a cup of coffee. This is so not worth it!”

As Fox made her exit, the woman shouted at her saying, “You’re really not that hot, honey and you’re certainly no Angelina Jolie.”

Remember when the whole class in elementary school would be conspiring against the brainy nerd and a lampoon him in front of all children in the school yard? That is what is happening to Dolan in this year’s Genies.

Dolan film, ma mère J’ai tue, is a Quebec film that even those who have little interest in Canadian films have ever heard. For now, his story has become the material of the mythology of Canadian cinema. He wrote the comedy-drama about a troubled gay teenager and his tempestuous relationship with her mother out of fashion when he was just 17, shot the picture when he was 18 years – with little support from public funders movie – and took him Cannes Film Festival last year.

Tues ma mere J’ai kick off their winning ways on the Croisette, nabbing three awards at the Directors Fortnight at Cannes and has been nabbing trophies here, there and everywhere since. The film of the year for the collection of hardware climaxed in the Jutra Awards (for films from Quebec) at the end of last month, with some film-that-could catch most superior Jutras, including trophies for best film, screenplay (by Dolan), actress (for return Anne Dorval brilliant as the mother who has to put up with this child impossible) and as the film that had the most success outside of Quebec.

By any definition, ma mère J’ai tue is the success story of the film last year in Quebec – and Canada, for that matter. But apparently someone forgot to tell people on juries to Genie, who decided Tues ma mere J’ai not deserve even a single nomination for the Genie.

When the spirits are assigned Monday night in Toronto, the proverbial elephant in the room will be the movie Dolan. It is announced that Dolan will be given a Genie, Claude Jutra Award for an outstanding work for the first time feature director. But his film does not compete in any regular category Genie and, at press time, sources close to Dolan suggests that is unlikely to make the trip to Toronto.

But the discomfort of Quebec Genie is not limited to the film Dolan. Another two major films in Quebec from 2009, the Bernard Emond’s thoughtful gift, one of the best films of the year, a travers les Brumes Dede, the film critically acclaimed biographical Jutra, winner of the late leader André Colocs (Dede) Fortin, are also nowhere to be found in the Genie nominations. That’s because the producers of the film decided not to pay to submit their films to the geniuses. They thought it was not worth the dough, taking into account what they see as the lack of impact of the awards in the race is a Quebec film.

Most of Quebec films do not open commercially in the rest of Canada, and even if they do, the problem is that the Genie Awards tend to have little or no profile. This year the 30th annual Genie Awards will be broadcast on the Independent Film Channel, the country hardly out most watched TV. By contrast, the next Juno Awards will be broadcast on CTV and remain a big ratings draw. Geniuses? Not so much, so, first CBC, Global, and then ended up ditching the Genies politely. (Geniuses cbc.caon also be broadcast Monday.)

Curiously, despite the flat Dolan and the absence of the donation and Dede’s a travers les Brumes, there are a number of films from Quebec in the hunt in major categories of Genie. The race is run by fine Polytechnique de Montreal writer and director Denis Villeneuve, which has 11 nominations, including nods for best film, director and actress (Karine Vanasse).

Another production of Quebec, Marie-Helene Cousineau and Madeline is moving drama Piujuq iValue Inuit before tomorrow, is for nine geniuses, including best picture, director and actress (iValue). Ourse Grande: La Clé des possibles, has eight nominations and, to the surprise of many, the little seen film 3 saisons Jim Donovan caught a couple of important nominations, including best picture and actress (Carinne Leduc).

This is not how people on juries ignore Genie was out of Quebec cinema. They only pointed to the movies Dolan – for reasons that are far from clear.

Why was exactly what these jurors refuse to even throw a bone Dolan in the form of, for example, a nomination as best actress for Dorval? Were trying to teach young author a lesson in humility? Are they jealous of their early success? Or do you really believe in their hearts that the film Dolan was not worth even a mention?

Your guess is as good as mine. Genie Awards take place

Good luck if you’re planning to see any major country stars out and about in Nashville this weekend. Virtually all of them will be in Las Vegas for Sunday night’s (April 18) Academy of Country Music Awards.

CBS will broadcast the 45th annual awards show live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Reba McEntire will be hosting the show for the 12th time, and she’ll also perform.

Other activities surround the main event, but the focus since Thursday (April 15) has been on rehearsals for Sunday’s awards show. Trace Adkins and Blake Shelton have already rehearsed their performance of “Hillbilly Bone,” and Jack Ingram and Dierks Bentley have put the finishing touches on their performance together. Jason Aldean, Billy Currington, Luke Bryan, Laura Bell Bundy and Joey & Rory also arrived early in Las Vegas for the rehearsals.

Among the show updates revealed Friday (April 16) is Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member John Fogerty’s performance with Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.

Other highlights will include Toby Keith’s musical tribute to his friend, Wayman Tisdale, a three-time All-American at the University of Oklahoma, former NBA player and acclaimed jazz bassist. Tisdale died last year from complications from cancer treatments. Jazz saxophonist Dave Koz will join Keith for the performance of “Cryin’ for Me (Wayman’s Song).” Audio and video downloads of Keith’s ACM performance will be available at iTunes. All proceeds from downloads will benefit Stand Up to Cancer, the ACM’s designated charity this year, in its mission is to accelerate groundbreaking cancer research.

Additionally, the show will also feature performances by Bryan, Brooks & Dunn, Darius Rucker, Keith Urban, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Gloriana, Rascal Flatts, Taylor Swift and Tim McGraw.

The ACM also announced Friday that Faith Hill, Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn and actors Josh Duhamel and Eddie Cibrian have been added as presenters. Duhamel is a star of the Transformers film series. Cibrian met LeAnn Rimes during the filming of a made-for-TV movie, Northern Lights. He and the singer were the subject of national media attention after their romantic relationship was made public during Rimes’ marriage to dancer Dean Sheremet. Rimes and Sheremet later filed for divorce. She will also be one of the presenters at the ACM Awards along with Julianne Hough, LL Cool J, actress Kristen Bell and actor Matthew McConaughey.

McConaughey and actress-singer Miranda Cosgrove (iCarly) will be the presenters during Monday’s (April 19) taping of ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn: The Last Rodeo. Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and Darius Rucker are the latest additions to the list of performers at the tribute concert. Scheduled to air May 23 on CBS, the special honors Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn, who will receive the ACM’s Milestone Award for their 20-year career as a duo.

Among those performing the musical tributes are Paisley, Underwood, Rucker, Aldean, Chesney, Urban, Lady Antebellum, Lambert, McEntire, Sugarland, Swift, George Strait, Rascal Flatts and Jennifer Hudson.

The ACM is also presenting two nights of free concerts at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Las Vegas. Appearing Friday are Lady Antebellum, David Nail, Danny Gokey, Emily West and The Band Perry. Saturday’s lineup includes Miranda Lambert, Joey & Rory, Gloriana, Luke Bryan and the Randy Rogers Band.

Alleged Tiger Woods mistress, Jaimee Grubbs, was arrested in Hollywood last night on several driving-related warrants. According to CNN, her bail was set at posted bail of $30,309 and she was expected to spend the night in jail unless the bail was posted. When she was pulled over, the authorities realized she had three outstanding warrants stemming for previous arrests on driving with a suspended license charges.

Grubbs was the girl who claimed to have a 3 year relationship with Tiger Woods and released a voice mail he had left on her phone asking her to erase her name from her voice mail message because his wife Elin Nordegren had gone through his phone and he was scared she would try calling Grubbs.

Allegedly, photographers declined to keep up with Lindsay any further after 5:20 a.m. — but Lindsay still partied the night away inside the West Hollywood hotel.

Reports have been circulating that Lindsay is on the brink of disaster, with her father,Michael Lohan, desperately trying to get her to check into a private rehab facility.

Linds has rejected her father’s outcries, lashing out at him on Twitter and referring to him as her “ex-father.”

Lilo’s mom, Dina Lohan, claims her daughter is happy and healthy.

Michael just got engaged to girlfriend Kate Major, a decision both Lindsay and Dina claim to be disgusted by.
