The Pinot Noir - Merlot Clàssic 2006 and Xarel·lo Clàssic 2006 were selected for the final receiving a Silver and Bronze medal respectively. These two young wines underline the quality of the 2006 vintage.<br /><br />The tasting was judged by thirteen well-known tasters from Navarra, Rioja, Aragon and Madrid who chose the medal winners from 27 wines that reached the final.<br /><br />Evena (The Navarra Viticultute and Oenology Station) analysed the winning wines to ensure they met the required criteria and on 30th November the prizes were awarded at the Casa de Cultura d'Estella.<br /><br />Both the tasters and Julián Subervola, director of Evena and head of the tasting team, agreed that the quality of this years' wines was very good.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='//blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/32943272-116674332542668789?l=www.albetinoya.com%2Feng%2Fnoticies.html'/></div>Albet i Noyahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05576238745090232157noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-32943272.post-1166742761910359422006-10-24T00:10:00.000+02:002006-12-22T00:24:22.510+01:00Albet i Noya, were awarded a gold medal for Reserva Martí and a silver medal for Núria, at the Mundus Vini International challenge, Germany?s most important wine event.<br /><br />Reserva Martí is produced from the oldest vineyards that we have at Albet i Noya, a blend of Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petite Sirah. It is aged in casks of new French oak, thereafter held in bottle for two more years. <br /><br />Núria, is an unheard-of blending in our country, which combines the principal variety Merlot (95 %) with Caladoc (3 %) and Petite Sirah (2 %). It is aged in casks of French Allier oak for 14 months.<br /><br />By chance these two wines received awards the year before in reverse order, when Núria was awarded the gold medal and Reserva Martí won the silver.
