Across the nation AIDS organizations will be benefiting from restaurants donating a portion of their proceeds on Thursday, April 26 as they participate in what’s called Dining Out for Life ®.

In Rhode Island, AIDS Project RI will be the beneficiary, and is currently looking for restaurants to participate.

“It’s a great way to promote AIDS Project RI and our participating restaurants,” said Thomas Bertrand, AIDS Project RI’s executive director.  “Last year we had over 40 restaurants participate from all across the state. We’re so thankful for their support. We’re hoping to sign up over 50 restaurants this year!”

The concept is simple: diners eat at participating restaurants on Thursday, April 26.  Those restaurants donate a portion of sales to AIDS Project RI.  “Friends, families, co-workers use it as an opportunity to get together for a night out,” he said.

Restaurants interested in participating should contact the event’s director, Amy Stein, at 401-559-7896 or email amy@aidsprojectri.org.

“We’ll be posting the names of participating restaurants very soon at www.aidsprojectri.org,” she said.  “We will be working hard to help these restaurants fill their seats April 26, and all year long.”

AIDS Project RI will be among a number of organizations accepting donations at the event, which will be at the 60 Valley Street, Providence location.
