Beauty: My Everyday Make-Up Kit and Product Review! (for beginner)

Hello everyone, this is Bella! It's been forever since the last time I posted up on this blog. Honestly this post was made like last year. I've been so busy making events at my campus and internship respectively. Right now, I'm in my senior year and currently in the middle of finishing my undergraduate thesis. Wish me luck!! So, in order to treat your disappointment, me and Ailsa decided to post beauty and travel reviews instead (we are so busy on our own final assignment to hang out for new places though). Previously, Ailsa had already posted her korean skin care and make up haul plus her infamous hair coloring post. Well, this is my first ever beauty post, yet I hope it will still satisfy your expectation. This time, I'll post my everyday make up kit since people have been asking me that on my askfm. Let's get it started!

Before we start, I'd like to remind you that these products may not be suitable for your skin type and tone. I have a yellowish skin tone, like most Asian people do, in a lighter color. It's just bright, more like beige and not that fair. For my skin type, I have an oily-combination skin, which is why I need to reapply my face powder more often to keep it matte. Lastly, if Ailsa is more into Korean or Asian products, I use western brands more. I have no special reason for that though, only because I'm used to it and it's easier to get here. Even though I started to develop interest in more affordable (yet super good) korean make ups and skin care too!

Okay so, I'm going to list the products in terms of its sequence when used. The first ones of my everyday make up routine is concealers! I use three concealers here; maybelline fit me in sand, manhattan in 002 classic beige, and max factor master touch concealer in ivory. (You can see the products and swatches bellow, it's in order anyways)

Manhattan | Maybelline | Max Factor

Each of it has it owns usefulness. Since the maybelline fits my skin tone better, I use it for the base. I only use my manhattan to conceal some spots that can't be helped only with my maybelline. Sometimes, I also use it as my highlighter for full make up routine. The max factor is used to conceal my under eye. Pay attention in choosing your under eye concealer product. The color should be a tone lighter than your actual skin tone, like when you choose your concealer for highlighter. It goes the same with my manhattan. Since these products come from drugstore brand, it won't cost you a lot. It just a bit more difficult to find the maybelline fit me (but I guess it's already on sale in Indonesia since last year) and manhattan in Indonesia. For manhattan I guess as for now you can only purchase it in Germany. I got mine as a souvenir from my sister, so actually I don't know the price. As for my max factor under eye concealer, it costs under 100k (I guess around Rp 65.000,-) and you can find it at nearest shop in Jakarta! It's pretty everywhere.

For the product quality, these three concealers do have a pretty decent job on concealing! Especially for the manhattan and max factor. As for the maybelline I may say it's good but not really worth the hype for me. Since I think, I still need another concealer or color corrector to help conceal with my dark spots. I like the max factor the most as it does a good job with concealing my under eye without leaving any white cast. I've seen some under eye concealer that shows up white cast when you get pictured under heavy light or blitz. It's not the case at all for this product!

In term of product usage, each of them last forever! Although I think the max factor ones finish a bit faster than the others, like 1-1,5 years. Perhaps it was because I use it the most and the applicator comes up a bit not too handy so be careful when you're using it, or it may spill a lot! The other two has good applicator though. Well, typically the same applicator each.

After putting on concealers, I use Rimmel stay matte pressed powder to finish my concealer. This pressed powder is hell popular, so I decided to give it a shot.

Like most people do, I really hate its packaging. It's really fragile and I've always worried in case I might misseated it. Also since I have a more oily skin, I thought it would be nice to have a pressed powder that will make my face matte for a long hours. Unfortunately, this pressed powder doesn't last enough to do its job. So, despite the hype, I feel kinda disappointed with the product. Even so, the price is amazingly affordable as it's only around Rp 110.000,- in local online stores.

Now, we are going to the third step, it's putting on a blusher! Actually, this step is not essential, it's only up to your preference though. But for me, I don't really like to leave my face plain pale, that's why I love putting on blusher. I use YSL Kiss and Blush in #8 pink hedoniste as my daily blusher.

The reason why I use cream blusher is because it works better for a natural finish. You can use this product both as blusher and lip cream. I don't recommend you to use it as lip cream alone though, since it's pretty drying. But you can mix it up with lip cream or lipstick (and don't forget to put on lip balm before anything!). Yes, it is pricey, it costs me around Rp 500.000,-, but it will last forever! Since you just need a small amount of it once applied. Also in my case, I don't need to reapply it throughout the day. Trust me, it lasts:)

The last but not least, don't ever forget to wear your lipstick! I recommend nude color for everyday use, so your make up won't look overdone. For lipstick, I use bourjois rouge edition in 31 beige shooting. For lip cream, my forever favorite is nyx lip cream in stockholm!

I love to mix it with dear darling tint from etude house for my inner lips, so my lips will look more appealing. The price for nyx lip cream is Rp 110.000,- (at the time I bought it) and I got my darling tint from Ailsa when she went to South Korea (yey!). The price range as from Rp 45.000,- to Rp 75.000,- in Indonesia. You just gotta find the right online shop (I shop mostly at belanjamimo.com)! As for Bourjois it's Rp 172.000,- and you can find it at nearest guardian or watson shop. Be cautious that the nyx lip cream tend to dry pretty easily, so don't leave its lid open for long.

All of the three lip products mention are not quite a long stayed. I need to reapplying it every 2-3 hours and every time I finish eating. Considering the cheap price, well I guess it's understandable. Even so, I rarely found a lip product to last throughout the day, not even the expensive ones. It will gradually lost the color and you will need to reapply it to keep your lips on point. On the worst side, I do have a lime crime product and the staying power is honestly crazy unless.. when you drink. The color around your inner lips will completely fade after you drink and it kinda makes it looks like a hole on your lips. So ugly! My verdict is to never fall for anyone who says 'this lip product lasts forever', not even your favorite beauty blogger!

Since I have a thick brow, I rarely use brow products. Sometimes I thread my eyebrows in the nearest beauty salon. But it grew up really fast:( So sometimes I only comb my eyebrows and use a bit of etude house the easy brow pencil to tidy it up. Perhaps, I'm going to review the product on the next post.

So, that's all for my everyday make up kit! To be completely honest, I don't really do this routine nowadays, because I had major break out last year and my dermatologist told me not to use make up so often. So, nowadays I only use my bb cushion, eyebrows pencil, blush, and lip cream once a week on weekend. It's not worth a post though, but I'll be posting my full make up routine instead in the next post. I hope you guys enjoy it and I'll see you soon in my upcoming beauty post!

[HOT] Pablo Cheese Tart is Coming to Town! - Gandaria City Mall, South Jakarta

Hi guys! We're backkk! Hahaha that was such a long hiatus *erhm* college *erhm. We're really excited to write this review of the most-talked and also most-queuing place right now. Yes, it's the zuper famous and number one cheese tart in Japan, Pablo Cheese Tart is finally coming to Jakarta yeayyy! The grand opening for public was on November 17th and we're so excited so we decided to come on the next day. Well well, we heard stories about the queue on the first day opening and it was super super long. So we came before lunch time and it was already quite a long queue tho. They also provide several seating area. Please note that the queue start from beside Remboelan not from the Pablo itself, there's no queuing number so.... you just... keep... standing hehe. They have staffs to take care of the queue so no need to worry that someone will cut your queue!

We got our turn after about 1 hour or so and along the line we can actually see how they made the tart, start from the mixing until the sauce covering. We can assure you that it was such a pleasing view! They offered the 15 cm diameter cheese tart which are the original, chocolate, matcha, and premium one, they also have the mini pablo version (chocolate and matcha will be coming out soon), the signature Frute Smoothies, the mille crepes (it was sold out!), and soft serve ice cream.

One person can only bought 2 cheese tart, so yes there's a limitation for how many you can bought. We bought the Original Cheese Tart (169k), Matcha Cheese Tart with Shiratama and Azuki (189k), and Matcha with Shiratama Frute (60k)

Original Cheese Tart is such a pleasant one. It is really soft, the crust is so crunchy, and the sauce on top is refreshing. Pablo Cheese Tart is popular for their light cheese tart so the cheese itself isn't too rich, very subtle we may say but we agreed that it is actually meet our preferences. If you like a creamy cheese feel, we suggest you to try the mini Pablo as it has more creamy texture. The sauce also really light, has lemon and also a bit pineapple aroma. The cheese tart itself is a bit too foamy for us (well, it's good because it melts directly). We actually keep some and try another slice again after a movie, it is unexpectedly good! Well, we didn't say it wasn't good at first (believe us it was very tasty) but we prefer a cold version. The reason are, it's less foamy and the cheese become more rich! We recommend you to refrigerate it for a while!

If you ask us which one you should buy, we're so sorry that we can't recommend you which one you should buy because we also have a hard time to choose which are our favs *cries*. Similar as the Original one, the Matcha Cheese Tart with Shiratama and Azuki is also a pleasant one. The matcha and cheese itself, again, is very subtle but you can taste the delicious bitter taste from the matcha. You can find the shiratama (mochi is a more familiar term for it) and the azuki (red bean paste) hidden all over the tart. The shiratama itself is small and chewy. Love the azuki a little bit too much as it is very smooth-like, sweet, and it balances the bitter taste of matcha also the savory cheese.

We also very excited to try their Signature Frute Smoothies! Have a hard time to choose between the 5 flavors which are Classic Cheese, Rich Mango, Rich Berry, Special Chocolate, and Matcha with Shiratama. Finally we chose Matcha with Shiratama! We really can't refuse Matcha, didn't we? hahaha. The texture itself is very creamy. The bitter taste of Matcha is quite strong and it is a great combination with the salty savory cheese. You won't miss the shiratama on top and the unique red bean whipped cream! Pst, the portion is quite small.

It was such a great experience and a great queuing too (lol). We haven't try the original Pablo in Japan so we can't really compare it with the one here. But, we heard that there is difference with the one in Japan. We actually thought that it is the best one so far! So grab yours now!!!

Hi guys! So this is the second part of my Korean Skincare and Makeup haul yuhuuu. The second part will be about eye makeup, lip products, and other products that i have including mist and facial masks. Already done my ever-so-long intro in the first post, so let's just start with the second part!

8. Eyebrow Mascara

I don't know why but i never ever and can't use eyebrow pencils. I'm just so bad at it (cries). So, i decided to just use an eyebrow mascara. My eyebrow are actually quite thick so i don't really use the product that much, just enough to match my hair color. To apply it: brush it in the opposite direction of your eyebrow then brush it in the same direction so it apply evenly. I usually use either No. 4 Natural Brown or No.2 Light Brown. Recently Etude launched Color My Brow in jumbo size which has double amounts of the usual one for cheaper price! The small one is 6.000 Won/Rp72.000,- and the big one is 8.000 Won/Rp96.000,-

9. Eyeshadow

Just receive it from my friend and totally in love with these two! It's a creamy and matte eyeshadow. These days i really love pink coral/orange makeup look so I just really really love the color and the cute packaging! Beside eyeshadow, i also use it often as blusher. The color just popped out after you apply it, but it also give you a natural soft look... well that depends on the color you choose too. I always use my finger to blend eyeshadow, blusher, eye primer, etc etc because many Koreans believe that the warmth of your finger make it absorb faster! Fyi, i don't even have a single brush lol.Don't forget to apply eye primer first, so your eye makeup will stay longer! For now, i still use Max Factor Color Precision in Pearl Beige as eye primer (it has shimmery effect). I will recommend you to try Etude House Proof 10 or Innisfree Eye Primer for Korean products. These eyeshadows only costs you 3.500 Won/Rp42.000,- each!
For blusher, i used to have Etude House Lovely Cookie Blusher in No. 9 SweetBerry Muffins. I saw so many Korean beauty bloggers actually use this and it's a cream type blusher with cute packaging and puff with it. I really love it but my mom run out of her blusher so she ask me to give it to her kkkk. It's only 6.000 Won/Rp72.000,-!

10. Eyeliner

Etude House Oh M'eye Line

No. 3, Oh My Brown

I've been using this from the first time i tried using eyeliner and i still use it until now. I can't really use the pencil or creamy one because i use a lot like really a lot of product for my single eyelid or i look like i didn't use any eyeliner (cries). It has pointy brush like the bolpoint eyeliner has and it really easy to use especially for me that need to cover my single eyelid. The downside is it didn't last that long and not waterproof so i always bring it in my bag in case it's dissapearing. The one i have is in brown colour and Korean really like brown eyeliner because it got softer final look than the black one. This one is cheap, only for 4.000 Won/Rp48.000,-. If you want to try creamy eyeliner, i recommend you to buy Tony Moly Back Gel Eyeliner that really really popular in Korea!

11. Pencils

I don't really have that many pencil products, those above are all i have and i will just review it briefly. The first three product at the top are Etude House Play 101 Pencil that you can get for 6.000 Won/Rp72.000,- each. You can use it for eye primer, eye shadow, blusher, and even for lips (for some colour). It has more than 60 different colour that you can choose according to your needs! The brown one is Etude House Drawing Eye Brow in No. 3, Brown. It's actually an eye brow pencil and has 2 sides, one side is pencil (ofcourse) and the other one is a brush. But i can't use eye brow pencil so i use it to fill the my lower line or the end/outer of my eyes to make my eyes look bigger. It's actually pretty popular and only for 2.500 Won/Rp30.000,-. The last one is Etude House Styling Eyeliner in No.2, White. Before i buy Max Factor Masterpiece Color Precision, i always use this one for the corner of my eyes also to fill my lower eyes. It has that blingbling (lol) white color effect that can make your eyes looks bigger! I bought it at their store in Jakarta but the actual price is 2.500 Won/Rp30.000,-.

12. Lip Tint, Lip Gloss, Lipstick

Etude House Dear My Blooming Lips-Talk

I originally want to buy Dear My Wish Lips that just really really popular when it release but the self assistant who help me there told me that Dear My Blooming Lips will be better for me because it has moisturizing result while the Dear My Wish Lips is more on the matte side (I have dry lips huhu). She also recommend me this one in OR204, Bashful Coral that's one of the most favorite color they have and i just starting to love coral makeup back then. The color is just so soft and feminine,not too bright and more like pink coral actually. The packaging is just so pretty! Also it does moisturizing your lips! I don't really use lipstick because i will end up having cracked lips but this one have an effect like lip balm. I also use this one sometimes when i go to college. The price is 8.500 Won/Rp102.000,-.

Peripera Ink Tint

No. 5, No Spoiler

Sorry the actual design is already dissapear. Peripera is actually pretty popular for their water tint last year and i have no reason to not buy it lol. I use this most of the time i go out at weekend because i just really really love its bright red color. The texture is like ink (people said that) heavier texture than the usual lip tint, it's also pretty long lasting and everytime i try to even out the product on my lips with my finger, it just won't dissapear until few hours later (the product on my finger.... well also on the lips). What i love the most is actually the color but i still don't know why they name this one No Spoiler lol. You can find Peripera products at Clio or some people say Olive Young has them too, this one you can get for 9.000 Won/Rp108.000,-.

Peripera Water Tint

No. 3, Orange Juice

The popular lip tint is here! Yes, last year Korea cosmetic line are so hectic about water tint and Peripera is actually the most popular one. As you can see, it's soooo watery and it just absorb really quickly on your lips that makes the color looks like your actual lip color. I usually use this daily for college because the color is really soft. But sometimes i also use it when going out for more softer look or when i want coral makeup look kkkk. Many people afraid to use orange color and so do i, but you can try this one out! It won't make your lips look too orange but rather a coral color once it blend with your natural lip color. This one is in No. 3 Orange Juice and the smell is actually like orange juice lol. But it didn't last that long, you need to apply it again and again. Recently, they upgrading their products so before you buy please google it first so you won't be confused of which one to buy because this one i have already change name to No. 4 Mandarin Juice. This one is cheaper than the ink one, 7.000 Won/Rp84.000,-.

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint

My very first lip tint! I used this one a lot back then before i know more about Korean lip tint but if you search for a soft color and milky texture, you can always go for this one! The one i have is in soft pink color that actually didn't popped out on my lips and i also have another one which is a limited edition in Lavender color that once popular because Yoon Eun Hye wore it in a drama. This is actually good for high schooler or you who just new to lip tint. The downside is it didn't last long and the color are too soft even the red one. The price is 6.000 Won/Rp72.000,-.

Etude House Dear My Milky Gloss

I haven't use this one for so long actually and i found it in my mom's makeup bag lol. This is the first lip product that i have when i was in high school because back then we didn't really use (and know) lipstick or even lip tint. This is actually a lip gloss that has nude creamy colour with milky texture and nice sweet smell. I really like it a lot back then because it got the glossy look and can also moisturize your lips. This one is already discontinued but they have another new pretty color that you can google it with the new name, Dear My Crystal Gloss. The price now is 6.000 Won/Rp72.000,-.

Tony Moly Delight Tony Tint

No.2, Red

I almost forgot to include this one lol. This is Korean High Schooler most favorite lip tint in 2015. Before i got my Peripera ink tint, i always use this when going out. The one i have is in dark red color that Korean refer as vampire color but it actually softer and lighter than i expected it to be when you apply it. The long lasting level is medium, not too long but doesn't dissapear easily either. I bought it at their counter in Jakarta with higher price while the actual price is 3.200 Won/Rp38.000,-. I actually really love this one hehe.

13. Miscellaneous

Blending Puff Multipurpose from Daiso

The first time i saw this blending puff was at Etude House and i know that other brands have it too but the price is like 7500 Won or so. I don't actually need this but it's just so cute! I saw Korean beuaty vlogger talk about this and it turned out that Daiso in Korea has it dor cheaper price, 2000 Won. She said that the quality is just the same with the other brands but i haven't tried it yet hehe. The round part is for applying and blending powder, bb cushion, or bb cream and the pointy part at the top is for blending concealer or foundation to some tricky parts like under eye.

Nature Republic and Etude House Facial Mist/Fixer

The left one is Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel Mist and the right one is Etude House Face Conditioning Fixer. I almost finish my Etude House Fixer and it's pretty nice. Fixer is actually a makeup boosting product that gives you cool effect and can make your makeupstay longer. The Nature Republic Mist is more in soothing and moisturizing side and you can spray it to your face whenever you feel like your skin already dry. You can also use it for arms and legs. I actually have another Etude House Mist called I'm Blooming Mist but i already finish it and i don't know where i keep the bottle lol. I usually spray it on my face after i'm done with my skincare routine also after my makeup done or these days i also spray it to my cushion puff. They said it can resulting in a more dewy finish. I bought Nature Republic mist for 5.500 Won/Rp66.000,- and Etude House fixer for around Rp100.000 or Rp120.000,- at online shop.

Etude House, Skinfood, Innisfree Facial Mask/Mask Sheet

I love Korean facial masks!! I couldn't choose which brand i love because until now the effect i got from the masks that i've used are all nice. Also it's easy to use, just put it on your face, wait for 15 to 20 minutes then take it off! Don't forget to use the leftover serum in the package or it would be such a waste . They have soooo many kinds of masks with price range from 1.000 Won/Rp12.000,- to 5.000 Won/Rp60.000,- and of course there are other kinds that more expensive than that. Some place sell it in a package with promos like Etude House, buy 1 package (10 pieces) free 1 package (10 pieces) so you can get 20 pieces for only 10.000 Won/Rp120.000,-! The important thing is to find the one you need, if you want the one with moisturizing result you can choose Olive (just example). Use it regularly once or twice a week for the best result.

Phew, that was such a really long post lol. I hope these posts can help you knowing and choosing Korean skincare and makeup products. Annyeong! This is Ailsa writing and i've been wanting to write this posts because one of the reader requested it months ago but i decided to finally write this recently (sorrrrryyyy). So, you can guess from the title that this won't be a restaurant's review! Yes, this post will be Korean Makeup Haul (also skincare!) and a really huge one yay! I will divide it to 2 parts, the first part will be more about skincare also base makeup and the second part will be about eye makeup and lip products.
The products that i will introduce to you in this posts will be the one that i bought from around a year ago to the new one that i asked one of my friend who went exchange to Korea to buy it for me (the reason why i postponed this post). To tell you briefly, i just start to put interest on skincare and makeup product since i went to Korea for summer school in 2014 so it hasn't been that long for me but it became so addictive that all of my allowance gone for these products . Most of these products i bought when i was visiting Korea. In order for not confusing you guys (also myself lol), i will write it in order of my makeup routines, so let's start!

1.Serum

Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum

I just bought this one last week when i was in transit at Changi Airport to go to Thailand and i got this free voucher from the airline that can be used for shopping at all the stores at Changi, S$40 for 1 person! I immediately spotted Innisfree and check the price, surprisingly the price is the same with Korea so i decided to buy the popular Green Tea Seed line which is the serum. I want to buy the cream but i just bought the Nature Republic one huhu. I use serum after toner because toner is always first at morning routine and 2 or 3 pumps should be enough to cover your face and neck. The texture is watery and pretty light so it absorb to your skin quickly. It really moisturize your skin but it doesn't sticky at all! Because i only use it for couple times, i haven't feel any difference (yet) that most people talked about (moisturizing, brightening, etc etc). You can get it for 22.000 Won/Rp264.000,-.

2.Sunscreen/Sunblock

Nature Republic Provence Calendula Mild-Sunblock SPF 35 PA++

That's a long name. So, I've been using this one for around 6 months now and this is the first sunscreen that i ever use. Many people skip this step in their skincare routine but this is also important step especially if you live in the very hot country like Indonesia. It has SPF 35 and the PA++ indicates medium protection efficacies. It actually pretty expensive, 15.900 Won/Rp190.000,- i think i would search for another product if it wasn't for the 1+1 promo. I use sunscreen after serum and leave it for around 1 to 2 minutes for it to absorb while doing my eyebrow or eye makeup.This one didn't feel sticky when you apply it and i also believe it maybe has a little moisturizing ingredients. It works great for me until now, at least i don't need to worry about the sun anymore!

Innisfree Eco Safety Perfect Sunblock SPF 50+/PA+++

I actually haven't use this one lol so i don't really have that much to talk about but this is one of Innisfree's most popular product so i was really curious about this. It has higher SPF than the Nature Republic one and also PA+++ which means stronger protection. Well, i need to finish the other one first kkk. This one is cheaper but the product is less tho, 12.000 Won/Rp144.000,-

3.Moisturizer/Cream

Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel

Most of you must already know this one because it has been no.1 since Nature Republic released it. Yap, it's the Aloe Vera Soothing Gel that i've been using ever since and one of my holygrail product. This product is just really really amazing and multi-function and the smell is so aloe vera. You can use it for like 8 different purpose such as moisturizer, sleeping pack, lashes, reduce eye puffiness, hair treatment, etc etc etc. I always use this as my first step moisturizer (not too much) after sunscreen and also as sleeping pack at night (use more for this). It just really does soothe your skin and remove dead skin (as for sleeping pack). It's also very cheap with that huge amount of products! Only around 4,400 Won/Rp53.000,- or less if they have discount (they always have promo tho).

Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 80% Emulsion

My second step moisturizer is actually a cream type or Korean call it emulsion. Cream and emulsion is the same thing with the same purpose tho the names just for marketing stuff. I bought this on December 2015 when yes24.co.id held promotion event and the price is the same with the real price so i bought it (cries). My skin became more moisturize when i apply it after the soothing gel and it's not sticky at all, it just absorb quickly! The downside is it's soooooo hard to squeeze out the product. I was depressed at first but i found my cream spatula (at first pic), so now i scoop the product with spatula... much easier that way. For pretty much product (160ml) it's not that expensive, 8.800 Won/Rp105.000,-. Note: If you confused which moisturizer you should apply first, always go for the lightest one because it absorb faster.

4.Cleansing Oil

Innisfree Apple Juicy Cleansing Oil

I immediately searching for best cleansing oil once i read that cleansing milk still left some residues and found that this is one of the best Innisfree's product (tell my friend i have additional list lol). Cleansing oil will dissolves your makeup and oil even the one in your pores and also balance your skin's oil. I use cleansing oil to remove my makeup after i got home and it's just perfectly remove my makeup even the waterproof one and leave my skin feels elastic (?), you know that bouncy bouncy feels when you touch your face haha. It has a sweet apple smell and i just really love it. To use it, keep your face dry and apply it just enough to remove your makeup (1 or 2 pumps), then leave it for 5-10 minutes so it can absorb well and massage it for 1 minute then rinse it! I'm not sure if it's works the same for oily skin, so please check it first! But, don't forget to finish your makeup removing routines with toner because eventhough you do double cleanse there will be some residues left. So many people skip this step which is a very very important step. The price is 13.000 Won/Rp156.000,-.

5.Base/Primer

Etude House Beauty Shot Face Blur SPF 15/PA+

My holygrail base/primer! I bought it the last time i went to Korea because i've heard really good reviews about it and just really curious about it. You can easily find reviews about this one! For me, this product works amazing to hide pores and make your face looks really really smooth also it can brighten your skin. No wonder this one is really popular, not only between Korean beauty bloggers also some international bloggers. I even got another one in stock. The product is also plentiful, i use it daily but it didn't show any sign it will run out soon kkkk. It's so worth the price 15.000 Won/Rp180.000,-. Must-try product! Anyway i also added Benefit Porefessional for some parts such as T-zone or if i need more coverage for my pores lol.

6.BB Cushion

Etude House Precious Mineral Moist Any Cushion SPF 50+/PA+++

I just really love Etude House, most of my products are from Etude (coz the price too kk). My BB Cushion is also from Etude which i also bought the last time i went to Korea because it became a hit just last year (i think?). Koreans really love the natural/no-make-up look so this one is so so popular because it's lighter than the BB cream but the coverage is really great. Most Korean BB Cushion will give you dewy finish because that's what Korean girl like kkk. If you wonder what's BB Cushion, it actually a foundation... lol. Etude has many types of BB Cushion but because i have dry skin, so i bought the Precious Mineral Moist Any Cushion in number W13 Natural Beige.
The important thing when you choose shades is the one suits your skin color the best. For BB, i only use BB Cushion. Yes, i didn't use any BB cream because i've tried every sample i have not only from Etude and the coverage just really too much from me even with the natural shade. My friends told me i look like a vampire lmao maybe because i have pretty fair skin (lol what). So i think i will settled down with just BB Cushion for a long long time. I also have like 2 refills with me kkk and i already use 1 refill! The compact one came with a cushion/puff so do the refill. I'm just so in love with it because it feel light in my skin also the coverage is just perfect for me, i always bring it in my bag! In BB Cushion Line, i think Etude is the cheapest one, 18.000 Won/Rp216.000,- while other brands usually will be above 20.000 Won. Do comment if you want me to review about it!

7.Concealer

Aritaum All Day Tip Concealer

My favorite concealer! It's a liquid type concealer and it didn't make your face cakey. I have dry skin so i'm pretty sensitive with concealer but this one did a good result for me. I also use this concealer to cover my dark circles especially every exam week lol. I bought shade No.2 Natural Beige. I'm a safe player so i always go for the natural shade kkk. The coverage is medium so for the best coverage use it before and after foundation on spots that you want to cover more! For me, I usually apply it after BB Cushion. You can get it for only 6.000 Won/Rp72.000,-. Sometimes i also use this to make gradiation lips!

Etude House Surprise Stick Concealer

This one is my first concealer that i bought from qoo10.co.id. It's a cream type and stick shape. I actually think that this has better coverage than the previous one but it left cakey/matte finish on my dry skin especially for the dark circles. Now i only use it if i have bigger spot that i want to cover. The price is same with Aritaum one 6.000 Won/Rp72.000,-.

Japanese Yakitori - Toridoll Yakitori

Hi guys, we're sorry for not posting for so long because we're currently in our hectic year of college so we didn't have spare time to checking new restaurants and make review about it.... so sorry hiks. We're saving this one and we were here couple months ago actually but this one seriously need a review because we really enjoy their food and dessert here so let us introduce you to a new Japanese Yakitori restaurant, Toridoll Yakitori! It's a Yakitori place but they also serve many authentic Japanese foods and don't forget the delicious desserts yum! Located at Gandaria City just opposite Maison Tatsuya, you can find it easily and also they got a pretty big space too. The design is really elegant and fancy even from the outside and they have see-through kitchen in the middle too! Ah, they will open another branch soon at Kota Kasablanka so don't forget to check it out.

When we went there, they just newly open and they have this lunch set package also daily promo which differs everyday. We order just 1 (just to stay safe cause not so sure about the portion) but we're not sure if they still have the same package or not please check it first! So, the set package we chose contains Omu Yakisoba, Salmon Skewers, Gyu Skewers, Potesala Croquette Tartar, and Miso Soup (around 98k if we're not wrong). We have been eyeing for their dessert so we just order one drink which is their speciality drink, Toridoll Ice Tea (around 20k), also their Toridoll Kakigori Ichigo Milk (38k).

Thanks god we only order one package because the portion was really really big for two of us especially the Yakisoba. Here's the visual! Yumyum look at that Yakisoba!

Let's talk about the mouth-watering Omu Yakisoba first. It's a chicken fried buckwheat noodle topped with omelette, teriyaki sauce, and mayonnaise. The portion is actually can be for 2 people because it was just that big (seriously). It was soooooo delicious, you should eat it altogether with the sauce and mayonnaise too then you will get speechless (ok overreacting). The fried noodle, omelette and chicken meat cooked really nice, it doesn't taste that sweet but the combination from teriyaki sauce and mayonnaise will result a delicious sweet taste. So hungry right now hu.

Next one is our favorite too (cries), it's the Potesala Croquette Tartar. It's a potato croquette salad topped with tartar sauce. The croquette was just really really delicious, nicely fried and the inside just melted instantly in your mouth. The tartar sauce was pretty creamy and just matched perfectly with the crispy croquette also the salad was really fresh too!

As for their Miso Soup, it was really good. Honestly, we're not really fond of Miso Soup but this one is seriously nice. It didn't taste plain like the usual one, it's more on the savory side. But the onion (?) is too much lol.

Now the Yakitori!!! So we got two Yakitori, Salmon and Beef Yakitori 2pcs each. We especially like their Beef Yakitori! It was pretty juicy and chew, you can even still taste that unique taste from the grill process. The meat is pretty big in size for yakitori too. As for the salmon, it was really yum but unfortunately it was pretty dry so it didn't feel so good in your throat after you eat it.

Don't worry about the dryness in your throat becauseeee they have their signature ice tea, Toridoll Ice Tea, that will freshen your throat immediately! It's an ice tea with combination of fresh strawberry, lemon, and lime slices also mint leaves. It has a unique tastes, not like a lemon tea, because it also got the sweet taste eventhough there are lemon and lime in it. A must try!

For our most favorite one...... it's the Toridoll Kakigori Ichigo Milk yeay!! This one seriously the bomb. At first we thought its just shaved ice with strawberry syrup or something like that but it's actually shaved ice with real strawberry fruit! Maybe they crush the strawberry into tiny pieces and they mixed it with the ice, we're not sure either but it was just really really yummy and refreshing!! At the bottom, we actually thought it was milk but it's vanilla pudding. It also came with condensed milk that you can pour it all over the ice and also a cup of cold ocha. We strongly suggested you to just pour the milk, you won't regret it we promise. The waitress said that you can pour the ocha but we don't think that it will be nice so we just drink the ocha to lessen the sweetness after we done with the whole ice (better that way). Anyway sorry for the badly taken photos because it's just so tempting (cries).

We really enjoy their foods and desserts here also the ambiance is really great and the service was really fast also, so we will make sure to come back and have Yakitori feast! Maybe we will try the one at Kota Kasablanka when it opens. Bingsoo Craze: Bing Go Authentic Korean Dessert Cafe

Hi guys, it's been a long time isn't it? This is Ailsa and we're really sorry that we've took weeks off because we've been so caught up with our mid-exam, the preparation, and other stuff (cry). Anyway, i'm so excited to write this post! Wondering why? Well, i will introduce you to another newly open Bingsu Cafe that will become our favorite dessert place in town yeayyyy. Bingsu is pretty popular nowadays so i think the business work smoothly and now there are many places that especially serve Bingsu owned by real Korean including Bing Go. Curious what's so special about Bing Go? Let's go!

Located in the Upper Ground Floor of Gandaria City Mall, you can easily find Bing Go just accross Nanny's Pavilon. The place was quite big, with outdoor seats, and really bright with those pretty lights on. We went there on weekday so the place wasn't crowded.

The menus are all so mouth-watering! (I'm a really big fan of bingsu lol) There are so many kinds of bingsu that we want to try if only our tummy and pocket allow it haha. After much consideration, we finally decided to order Small Blueberry & Cheese Bing Go (71k) and Small Mango Bing Go (65k). About 10 minutes later, our order arrived! Taa-daa!

The visuals are so pretty right??? Ah i really miss this kind of bingsu. Fyi, this is what real bingsu looks like in most cafe in Korea. Well maybe you've heard of Sulbing Cafe which is really popular among teenagers and even with foreigners too! The bowl is also the same with the one in Korea too and it's different with any other bowl because it will keep the ice at its shape and not to melt fast. If you touch the bowl, it's pretty cold so we assumed that they put the bowl in refrigerator so when they serve it will help bingsu not too melt fast. I've been waiting for this kind of Bingsu

Well, now let's be focus. First menu is Blueberry & Cheese Bing Go. The amount of blueberry is no joke. Not a fans of blueberry but i always love the frozen blueberry in bingsu, Yap, even the blueberry is also frozen lol. Eventhough its frozen its they're really fresh and delicious. Not to a forget the cheese! The cheese is actually rectangular-shaped cheesecake which is a very important topping in bingsu. Actually we're not really sure if it's a cheesecake or what but the texture was more like cheesecake which is soft and not too salty. Don't forget the vanilla ice cream on top! This one is definitely my favorite one! If only it's mix with strawberry.

Next one is Mango Bing Go. I always love how they give topping in a great amount, look at those delicious mangoes! The mangoes were so fresh and there's an unique taste that we think may come from coconut or peach syrup. This one also come with the cheese! Whipped cream is the final touch of Mango Bing go. The whipped cream is really sweet and soft, just how i like it. Oh and the shaved ice is just the same as original bingsu! Sweet, so soft and easily melted in your mouth.

We finish both of it in a flash lol, it's just that delicious!!! Want to order another bowl but tummy ask for main course hahaha. We thought the small one will be for 2 person and the big one for 3 or 4 person but the menu said small is for 1 person and big is for 2 person lol. But i should say that i can finish the small one alone kkkk, that's just how much i love bingsu. The bingsu came with a little cup of condensed milk. What's better is you can refill the milk just near the counter. The counter also have food display contains with honeybread display and some other beverages. They have 4 televisions (or desktop not so sure) just near the counter that show you their menus and episodes of Running Man! They also provide free wifi which is pretty fast haha.

Overall, we really like it here! Either the bingsu, the location which is reachable from our campus and the cozy athmosphere. We will finally be back again to try their other delicious menu!

NEWLY OPEN! Snow-it Korean Bingsu!

Good news for all bingsu lover! We are exciting to announce that there's a newly open Bingsu dessert shop at Kemang! Located in front of Anomali and KOI Kemang, you can find it on the left before the traffic light (from MCD Kemang direction). They place has two-stories building with typical Korean cute interior. The place is owned by Korean brothers. So if you expect to meet cute oppas, you can visit here as one of the references! lol

So, actually me and Ailsa were invited to a meeting by pergikuliner. They recommended us to visit this place for our meeting venue. Since we both are dessert lovers, we couldn't agree more! So, we decided to taste this newly opened bingsu shop. Yey!

Hello there cashier oppa!:))

For you who is yet to know, Pergikuliner is a platform, originally from Indonesia, for restaurants and culinary reviews. You can write down your own review there, give ratings, and another information based on your own experience in each restaurant reviewed. What's better is they don't only provide fancy places, but also some cheap yet famous food stall around Jakarta (soon-to-be Indonesia) reviews. Currently they are expanding to Depok and Bandung, of which we are excited to give our reviews! Yehee! If you are an Android user, congratulation you can directly download their application on the playstore. Unfortunately, for IOS user, they're still in progress on launching the application, but you still can access it from your safari here (applies to every internet browser though)

Since we have already had our lunch before coming here, we decided to order the desserts only. Our first dessert choice went to Snow Bingsoo (53k). I can tell you how appealing it looks only by seeing it from the menu book. It was full of cotton candy with bubble gum flavour. The shaved ice has the perfect size of shaved ice for bingsoo, if only it lasted longer. It melts faster compared to the authentic korean bingsu. Personally, I think the taste doesn't really appeal much than it looks.

Our second dessert was Pineapple Bingsoo (60k). I think this was the most expensive and big sized ones in the shop, but heck I love it so much! The pineapple tastes like heaven! They knew how to pick the perfect pineapple for dessert I guess, since it's more into sweet than sour. It was topped with a scoop of oreo ice cream. Whoa it was jjang! Two thumbs up! Although, the ice melts kindda fast as well, it still won't stop me from reordering it next time.

For drinks, I intentionally ordered for mineral water since I can't take anymore sweets intake. But our Ms. Ailsa choose to order a glass of Ice Americano (25K). The Americano tasted like the ones made from Seoul's Coffee Shop. It was really nice, not too bitter but not too sweet either. If you like your Americano sweet, they also provide the liquid sugar for you!

One week after this visit, we decided to go back to taste their other menus. So, here's the update! Our first menu was Tok Ramen with Extra Cheese (32k). Tok Ramen means ramen served with Tteokbokki (rice cake) as topping. Actually it only costs 28k for the original Tok Ramen, but we paid another 4k for additional cheese. The ramen tastes really nice and spicy enough for my tongue. I'm in love with the rice cakes! It's cheewy and fits the ramen well. The ramen also came with kimchi as compliment. The kimchi was so fresh, too bad we only had small portion of it. Still, absolutely my favorite!

Our next menu went to Oreo Bingsoo (50k). Actually we wanted to order Injelmi Bingsoo, but we decided to order Oreo Bingsoo insted after reading lots of positive reviews about it. We'll keep the Injelmi Bingsoo for our next visit then. lol. Since I'm a big fan of oreo, I can't agree more to this! They have these oreo crumbles all over the ice. I just can't stop eating! Though frankly say, it was nothing special about it since it was literally oreo crumbles with ice.

Lastly, we had Injelmi Toast (28k) to conclude our dinner here! I'm not really sure what is it, what I know is that injelmi is popular in their mother country. Well, if I have to say from what I've tasted, the injelmi has that taste and texture of a mochi. To sum up, this menu was like a toast with peanut flavored mochi. Not a fan of this one, but Ailsa seemed to enjoy it so much. The portion was huge though for dessert, so I suggest you to have it shared.

After all, we had a great dining experince, especially for bingsu. Since it's not that far from Depok, I think we might consider coming here over and over again! Also, we want to deliver our gratitude to pergikuliner for introducing us to this amazing place. Thank you pergikuliner!

Day 1 - Busan : Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Haeundae Beach, Gwangalli Beach+Diamond Bridge

Did anyone here watch Korean drama “Reply 1997”? If you’ve watched it then you must be aware that they used Busan as their background right? From then on, I really love Busan for no exact reason lol. So after consider other aspect, me and my parents decided to go to Busan rather than Jeju Island. Yes, this post will mark as the start of my story-telling about my trip to South Korea yeay! Hahaha I sound too excited.

Busan is the second largest city in S.Korea after Seoul. Located in the South part of S.Korea, Busan has a big port that always busy with cargo activities and alongside with that Busan also has numerous beach, river, and also mountain which always attracts mainly local tourist. Busan is a perfect place if you come to Korea in summer. To speak frankly, tourist that come to Busan mostly are local tourists lol I rarely saw foreigners there but well it’s a not-to-miss-city, so let’s hear my story in Busan!

After some consideration, we finally choose to used KTX to go to Busan. KTX is a high-speed train that can reach many parts of S.Korea in instant. Why not airplane? Well, we wanted to try something new and Gimhae Airport (Busan’s Airport) are quite far from the main attraction in Busan and KTX is also cheaper than airplane. By using KTX, you can reach Busan in less than 3 hours while normal bus will take around 5 hours and airplane of course has shortest arrival time which is 55 minutes. You can book your ticket 1 month prior to your intended date. There are this pass that can be used only by foreigners called Korail Pass which allowed you to go anywhere in S.Korea using any train. There are 1 day pass, 3 days pass, 5 days pass, and 7 days pass. With this pass you can hop here and there without purchasing any other tickets! This pass will be really useful if you want to go to many places beside Seoul. The downside is you can’t book a seat if you use this pass, you can purchase the pass prior to your arrival and you should show it while you’re purchasing tickets to your destination at the ticketing place in big train station but if you come in a peak season, it is possible there wouldn’t be any available seats. Considering I brought my parents with me and August is a peak season in Busan, I choose not to get this pass and purchase the normal booking tickets that more expensive (around 30.000 Won/Rp360.000,- difference) to ensure we got a seat because 3 hours is a pretty long journey especially if you just have 7 hours-flight before that. The 3 days Korail pass will cost you 83.700 Won per person for 2-5 group of people while the normal tickets will cost almost 120.000 Won roundtrip per person. You can check this official site to know more about Korail pass, price, and other info about Korail trains.

We arrived at Incheon Airport around 8.30 am and immediately purchase my parents’ T-Money at 7-11 so we can go to Seoul Station by AREX. There are actually other options if you want to go by AREX, there’s this express train that of course will be faster than the normal AREX train and the seats are different than the normal one. I used the normal AREX so I’m not really sure of how to purchase this express ticket, but I think I saw another ticketing place that maybe (maybe) sell the express ticket. The express ticket cost you about 8000 or 9000 Won (Rp90.000-Rp100.000,-) while the normal one costs around 4500 Won (Rp50.000,-). It needs around 55 minutes to get to Seoul Station, so actually we were in a hurry because our train will leave at 12PM and the clock shows it’s already 9.45AM woops.

We arrived at Seoul Station at almost 11PM. Because we didn’t want to go to Busan with our luggages, we decided to put it in Premium Travel Center’s baggage storage service at Seoul Station just 1 floor upstairs the AREX’s exit gate. Check their site to know more! After we got the numbered card, we immediately go to the ticketing place to exchange our booking number with the actual ticket. It was a really simple steps so don’t worry too much about it! We have around 30 minutes left so we decided to buy some foods and snacks! There’s KTX lunch box that you can purchase on train but it’s limited so if you really really hungry just buy some foods in Seoul Station because there are many restaurants (well mostly fast foods) and stalls that sell kimbab, lunch box, and other mouth-watering foods. I didn't took many photos because we were in a hurry sorry!

After almost 3 hours journey, we finally arrived at Busan yeay! Busan has such a really nice weather in the sunny summer. We immediately go to the alley just beside Busan Station to go find Hansung Motel that we've already booked from Agoda. It was only 5 minutes walk and finally we get to have some proper rest and showerrrrr.

We arrived at Busan around 3PM and after some refreshing rest and shower, we went to the first destination in our itinerary which is Haedong Yonggungsa Temple! We took subway from Busan Station and it took around 45 minutes to arrived at Haeundae Station. From Haeundae Station exit 7, you can hop to Bus number 181 or use taxi (about 10.000 Won). The journey will take you around 15 to 20 minutes and you can reach the temple from the Bus Stop, if you choose to use Bus, after 10 minutes walk.

Haedong Yonggungsa Temple is one of the must-visit-place when you go to Busan, with people mostly go there for temple visit or to make a wish on New Year as they watched the sunrise. After the front gate, you can find this road full of street-snacks like Omuk (fishcake), Read Bean Bread, and there are still many delicious snacks that followed by another road that full of animal statue of your Shio (that’s what Chinese people in Indonesia called it). After another 5 minutes walk and those little stairs, we finally reached Haedong Yonggungsa Temple! We didn’t actually get in to the temple, so we just enjoying the view and took some photos! The place was really beautiful with the colorful temple located near the end of the cliffs and the clear blue ocean just in front of your eyes.

The next destination should be Haeundae Beach which is the most favorite tourist place during summer, but due to heavy traffic (and we used taxi) we decided to just skip Haeundae and go straight to Gwangalli Beach. There are so many events at Haeundae Beach in the summer and we can just watch the beautiful beach from the taxi /insert sad ballad song. Well, we didn’t have a plan to swim or do any other water activities so it’s okay hehe. You can reach Haeundae Beach by using the Bus number 181 you used earlier from Yonggungsa Temple or use subway to Haeundae Station and take exit 7. You can also visit Gukbap Alley which is a place full of restaurants that sell pork rice soup. Because we didn’t eat pork so we decided to skip it hehehe. There’s actually a famous restaurant in Gukbap Alley named Haeundae Wonjo Halmae Gukbap, make sure you visit the restaurant!

Gwangalli Beach is another most favorite place in Busan where you can swim, watch some events held there, and watch the beautiful Diamond Bridge at night. Don't be confused, Gwangalli Beach and Diamond Bridge is in one same place. Gwangan Bridge or we know it as Diamond Bridge is the largest bridge that cross the ocean in South Korea and accompanied with really beautiful light that lit up at night. The athmosphere there was really nice and also romantic! If i can, I would just sit there for hours lol. Near the beach, there are so many restaurants and other places to eat. To get here by subway, get off at Gwangan Station and take exit 3 or 5.

Hello! This is Ailsa writing and this post will be our first post about Travelling! Some of you maybe know that recently i went to South Korea for a holiday. This is my second time been to Korea but actually my first time as a backpacker because my parents usually just go with a travel. This is actually a pre-post hahaha yes i will write my travel stories including directions and so on and divided it to many parts since i spent 10 days in Busan and Seoul so please wait for it!

I'm really excited to share my backpacker experiences to you guys. So, first of all what should we prepare to begin the journey? Well, you need to prepare your mental especially if it's your first time in that country because you will face many new things and probably you would taken aback by it.

That's important but what else? Of course it's Visa. It's actually not a secret anymore that it's not easy to apply Visa to South Korea. There are many articles i found that the Embassy didn't accept their application because so many things. Well they won't tell us what's wrong with our application tho so that's probably most people's concern about applying Visa to South Korea. Thankfully, mine and my parents' Visa process came out smoothly (eventho i'm pretty worried because my father is an entrepreneur) but maybe it was because MERS thingy that they just passed everyone that will go to Korea for holiday. My tips for you: please prepare every and each documents thoroughly, don't miss even one documents, prepare other documents too that you think it's necessary eventhough they didn't ask for it, take some research about others experience about applying S.Korea's Visa, and visit their website at http://idn.mofa.go.kr/worldlanguage/asia/idn/main/index.jsp for information about documents needed.

Tickets check, Visa check, everything is check, but don't you think you miss something? Where should we go if we visit S.Korea? What attractions they have? What transportation should we choose? Well, i'm sure this is our concern whenever we went to new country. Then what you need is Itinerary! I like my holiday planned so itinerary is really important for me. Take some research about what you should visit and you will find so many places to go to! Itinerary is one of documents that you can give to the Embassy too with your Visa's application because it can ensure them that you just came to S.Korea for holiday and no other intention. Because this is my second time to S.Korea and my parents' first time, they just entrusting the itinerary to me hahaha. I compared my itinerary with travel's itinerary and i'm glad that we went by backpacker this time because there are so many places i want to go for shopping! *insert puppy eyes*.

At first we planned to go to Jeju Island not Busan but after took some research, Jeju didn't really have public transportation so it will be more exhausting, time consuming, and more costly if we go backpacker. So, we decided to go to Busan because i really love Busan lol. No, that's not my intention tho. Busan is just as beautiful as Jeju and so many places to go and many foods to try. I will post about Busan really soon so make sure you don't miss it. I thinks it's already include every information you need especially about the subway routes and exits, i hope my itinerary is helpful for you guys^^

Subway? Why should we use subway? Isn't it tiring? Well, we're backpacker anyway and i really love their subway very very much. In my opinion, subway is a really convenient public transportation in S.Korea. It's fast, it has fixed interval per train, comfortable, can reach so many area easily, and so many that i cannot write all of it. To use subway or what they called in Korean "Jihacheol" (read: Jihacol), they have this card called T-Money that you can use for subway, bus, taxi, even buying things at convenient store. You can buy T-Money at some convenient store such as GS25, 7-Eleven, CU, Mini Story, and so on. T-Money has many different design, at some K-pop related shop you can easily find T-Money with K-idols design! Go to this site to know more about other benefits about T-Money! You may find subway in Korea pretty confusing because they have so many exits that leads you to different places. So, yes you need to do some research first what exits you should take to go to certain places. But dont worry tho, they also have English translation for every stop and every exit for foreigners! I also include subway's exits in my itinerary so it should be useful^^

My T-Money from last year's summer school

Accomodation will be the most important if you went travelling isn't it? Me and my parents didn't make a fuss about staying at 5 star hotel or blablabla so we settled in an apartment that we booked through AirBnB application for our accomodation in Seoul and Agoda for our hostel in Busan. It was a great experiences using these application because it's really easy to use and really help us so much! I didn't took pictures of the apartment because so many reasons, but i should say that the host is really really nice and helpful they even upgrade our room to a bigger one! Our apartment is located in Hongdae area (I love Hongdae so bad), one of those nice and great streets in S.Korea, and just 1 minute walking from subway's exit so it was really really convenient. We got a really great deal for this one, just around $50 per night! In Busan, we were staying at Hansung Motel just 5 minutes walking from Busan Station. We also got the same great deal for this one too and the place is actually great for backpacker's wallet /wink. We don't regret using these applications<3

This will be the end of the pre-post, please wait for the exciting storytelling about my backpacker trip to S.Korea! To conclude this post, i will give some tips for you guys before going to S.Korea:

Check the weather, this will help you to choose what clothes, medicines, and other things to bring.
Check multiple times for the Visa's documents!
Understand your Itinerary well.
Download some useful app when you're in S.Korea such as Jihacheol for subway route, Naver Maps for directions, Google Translate (lol), and Eatgo for finding where to eat. As for maps, you can use Google Maps too eventhough it's not as accurate as Naver Maps and for Eatgo.... it's in Korean so it's up to you if you want to download it or not ehehe i couldn't really find an useful app to find restaurant there, i'm sorry:(
They usually have big discount event especially in summer so don't forget to check http://www.koreagrandsale.co.kr/en/ and print out the voucher! Well i'm sure most of you girls come to Korea for shopping lol.
If you a fans of Kpop, you can also visit the entertainment building. Don't forget to search for directions to your favorite entertainment! Also if you want to "stalk" your bias group.... well check their schedule and twitter to update about them lol
Learn a bit Korean, Korean language is actually not that hard to learn if you can read the Hangul which is not that difficult at least it will help you to read directions in Subway! Also some words like Restroom and how to order food. (You can easily find learning website in Google about Hangul!)

Sophie Authentique: The Authentique Beauty of French Pastries

Happy Independence day Indonesia! Since Ailsa is leaving for 10 days, I'll be in charge taking care of this blog. I hope at last she will bring us some good materials to be featured here. lol. So, two weeks before her departure, I went to Sophie with her and one of our college friend. Actually right after our visit to jjang. At first we were confused to which sophie we should be visited to. I just knew lately that this one is the branch of that ones located at Kemang Selatan, my bad.

I had visited both Sophie and I could tell that, by far, this one is bigger than their first shop at Kemang Selatan. Dominated by blue, I really like the interior here. It is both sophisticated and comfy. They also have parking lot which I don't find in the ones at Kemang Selatan. lol. Even if I found it more homey in Kemang Selatan, it still troubles me with the no-parking-lot-area.

Who doesn't embrace desserts?? I think everyone does! But well, we had it way too much for desserts. Nine items including 2 cups of ice cream(30k/each), a cup of sorbet(35k) and a glass of ice tea(20k). Fortunately for us, we brought our good-eater friend here! So, we managed to finish all the desserts ordered. lol. I did tasting all desserts that we ordered, but my favorite will be Eclair(30k)! You can never go wrong with Eclair, trust me;) Though, initially I had high expectation on their Moelleux(25k). I thought it was some kind of lava cake, but I had it wrong. It tasted more like mousse, which is not my cup of tea:(

Canele(20k) was fine and was never my favorite either as I'm more into sweet tooth. Because of that, Mille Feuille(45k) which is weekend special's menu comes up as my other favorite dessert here! It was sweet and pefectly baked! Though we had trouble dividing it as it cracks as soon as we try to slice it off. Another pastry we had here was Apple Tart(40k). The Apple Tart wasn't baked to a crisp state, which was turning me off. I thought it was going to be all crispy and crunchy with a right level of sweetness.

Now it's time for ice cream and sorbet! I had Banana Caramel ice cream, while Ailsa had Lemon sorbet and our friend had Nougatine ice cream. The ice cream came up with flower-shaped biscuits and pretty cups. The ice creams were, good though we were kindda disappointed to have their red velvet ice cream sold out:( As for the sorbet, you can already guess how sour was it, eh? Sorbet was never my favorite, sweet tooth comes first for sure.

Korean Jjajangmyeon Noodles - Jjang Korean Noodles and Grill

Hi hi! Who is a fans of Korean drama? If you are, then you must be familiar with the Black Bean Noodles or Jjajangmyeon right? For those who don’t know, Jjajangmyeon is a mix Korean and Chinese cuisine which is a noodle with thick black bean soy sauce that always ordered as an take out or delivery in Korean drama. There are so many korean restaurant now in Jakarta but it’s really hard to find Jjajangmyeon especially a no-pork restaurant. But! There’s a new restaurant in Senopati that sell Jjajangmyeon and of course other Korean foods withouth pork and lizard meat, it’s Jjang-Korean Noodles and Grill!

Located at the main street of Senopati, Jjang is on the 2nd floor of Kambing Bakar Cairo and just across Born Ga Restaurant. We went there with one of our friend and it was lunch but there were only couple of seats that equipped. The place wasn’t big, actually it was pretty small but with the Korean scenery wallpaper and the wooden theme, the ambiance of Jjang will really makes you feel like you’re in Korea!

We can see that Jjang is focusing on their noodles and bbq menu because there weren’t actually that many choices neither foods nor the beverages like in other Korean restaurant. We ordered Jjajangmyeon (49k), Champong (59k), and Dak Kang Jhon with rice (49k) as main course, Pajheon (49k) as Appetizer, and Cola (9k) as the beverages. While waiting for your foods, they will provide kimchi in a small bottle which is unique because they usually put it in a small side dish plate. The kimchi is the best kimchi out of other restaurant in Jakarta! It tastes like the original one that fermented long enough so it tastes more sour and spicy. But maybe for those who don’t really like kimchi, this taste won’t match with your preferences. Try it first and maybe this kimchi will come to your liking!

For the first one will be Jjajangmyeon! It came in a big plate and big portion too. Topped with black bean soy sauce mixed with little piece of meat also sliced cucumber and radish kimchi (?), it has a great taste compared to another Jjajangmyeon in Jakarta! For the first timer maybe you will find it quite bland, but yes that’s the taste of the black bean soy souce, you can add chilli powder to make it tastier and suit it to your taste! Don’t forget to mix the sauce and noodles altogether!

Another big bowl of noodles has arrived, yes it’s Champong! Champong is noodles with spicy seafood broth and also variety of seafood. It came in a really big bowl and we can even divide it to 3 of us. It’s really really fresh and delicious! It was quite spicy but you can overcome it with the seafoods! There’re clams, squid, octopus, and other seafoods. It does taste like those spicy broth Korean ramyeon!

Dak Kang Jhon is chicken covered with sweet and sour sauce. It was also a pretty big portion too. It’s really tasty, don’t worry it wasn’t that spicy! The sweet and sour sauce was really really great. Worth to try!

Pajheon is korean traditional vegetable pancake and Bella’s favorite foods whenever we went to Korean restaurant lol. The Pajheon in Jjang was pretty thick while it’s should be thin (and kinda looks like Martabak Telor) but it has great combination with the vegetables in it. It came with soy sauce and for it to be tastier, you should dip the Pajheon with the soy sauce!

The price was pretty cheap if you compare to other Korean restaurant but the quality of foods here is really good and even better they have 20% discounts from the first time they open till now! They should use a bigger table because they have pretty big portion and so little space on the table for four. But we had a really great meal and leave with happy tummy and pocket too hahaha. Will surely go back here again next time for their Budae Jjigae and maybe BBQ. Oh, and don’t worry if you wear white clothes they provide bib that you can use so your clothes wouldn’t got stained!

Day 3: See You Bandung!

Welcome back everyone, how are you?? We're back from long Holiday! First we want to say Happy Eid Al-Fitr to all our Muslim friends all over the world! May the joy be with us guys. Here is the third part of my three-days trip to Bandung! Yeah right, this is Bella's writting here. lol. Without much unnecessary explaination, let me start my third day journey!

So, since this is the last day, I actually wanted to gather and meet all my friends this day. Too bad, most of them are busy preparing the exams since its on their exam week. Fortunately, I got to meet my other bestfriend on my very last day in Bandung. She used to be my partner in crime pal in term of shopping and culinary trips. We both share the same hobbies; never worry to spend money on things you like. lol.

Jump on to the foods I want to review here, I went to Hakata Ikkousha Bandung. I know that I can find it in Jakarta too, but what makes it special here is that they only serve halal foods. So, for you who really curious about this ramen but never try to taste it since you are afraid of what it contains, you can come to Bandung for a worry free Hakata Ikkousha ramen!

The ambience pretty much looks like the usual Ramen House, nothing much. All the tables and chairs were made from wood. Not really comfy but it does suit the ambience as Ramen House. Service was pretty nice as the ramen was served in no time. They also provide some kind of seasonings and loads of free onions! I didn't put it on my ramen though, it was pretty hard to chop the onion even with the onion chopper provided.

After having my dinner at Hakata Ikkousha, my friend took me to taste thin martabak around Paskal or Pasir Kaliki. Initially we wanted to try out the infamous Martabak Asan, but turned out it was close:"( So, to make up our mood, we decided to try Martabak Canada instead. No, the martabak wasn't imported whatsoever from Canada. We don't have any clue about its name though. lol. The martabak itself was fine, I didn't really find it special for my taste. Still, looking forward to taste Martabak Asan on my next visit.

After buying the thin martabak, we wanted to enjoy it with the most (at that time) happening McFlurry in town, McDonald's Minion Banana McFlurry! I'm a biggest fan of banana! I feel like I can't skip this limited offered mcflurry. lol. While everyone was busy collecting the minion miniatures, I'm happy enough to have my mcflurry. Who can resist this combination of oreo and banana flavoured ice cream though?

My Hair Color Transformation, Mise en Scene Review, and Some Tips!

Hi guys! This post originally is in one post with the Etude House Hot Style Bubble Review but i realise that it will be too long so i split it up! This post will be telling you about my hair color transformation during a year and Mise en Scene Coloring Review also some useful tips from me before you decide to try coloring your hair! Don’t miss it!

So, the first time i dyed my hair was a year ago. I was really curious about hair coloring because after graduating from high school some of my friend already dyeing their hair. So when i was strolling around a mall and visit Etude House store, i saw they have hair coloring product (it was around 86k that time) and after persuing my mom (lol) i finally bought it. I bought Etude House Hot Style Bubble Natural Brown because i really didn’t want it to be too bright for my first time so yeah. You can see the step by step how to apply it here, it’s my review of the same Etude House coloring product but different color yet the package in the box is the same tho.

I had a pretty dark black hair color and this is how my hair turned out. It was a perfect choice of color for first timer because it’s not that bright, came out as a really natural brown hair color. You know you need to wait around 30 minutes for it to absorb right? Maybe because this is the first time my hair received such chemical it was pretty hurt for my scalp so i keep it for only aroud 20 minutes, besides i have a sensitive scalp so be prepared.

The second time i dyed my hair when i was in Korea. I actually dyed it 2 times. The first one, i was using this Korean brand but i forgot the name and i chose Caramel Brown color. It was a bad choice because my intention was to make my hair color brighter so i need to chose a brighter color but turned out it just covering my black roots ergh.

I was in a really bad mood so my friend who lives in Korea took me to E-mart (one of the biggest mart in Korea) and help me to find another hair color product while he also search for himself too. Then i saw Mise en Scene product. It was a Korean brand and turned out it’s pretty famous for its hair treatment product. I had a hard time choosing what color to buy and because i didn’t want to repeat the same mistake, instead of buying brownish color i bought the Mise en Scene Hot Bubble Vanilla Gold.

I was really in love with the result! My hair color turned out kinda like golden bronze and of course brighter than the last one! The box contains pretty much similar with the Etude House’s box including the hair treatment too. Because it’s in a foam form it was easy to use just like Etude’s and surprisingly my scalp didn't feel that hurt like before. I supposed Mise en Scene chemical wasn’t as strong as Etude House but still have a great coverage and absorbtion. This is the result!

Then after few months staying with that hair color, i couldn't find where to buy another Mise en Scene again at Jakarta even online shop so i tried another hair coloring trend, guess what? Yes, ombre! It was still a trend last year in here (even now i think) so why didn’t give it a try? There’s this salon that always been my favorite near my house and once i went there i saw they ombre-ing and the result was really good! So after consulting what color should i got (and some opinion from friends) i decided to go with Magenta color.

I didn’t really know what hair coloring brand they used but Magenta is a mix of pink and purple color. Because we need to bring the ombre color out, the lower part of your hair will be getting a bleach first (bleach explanation read here) then they will apply the ombre color. My upper hair was still had the golden bronze color so i just need to cover the black roots, it didn’t took much time tho. The process wasn’t that long as i expected, it was around 2 hours for my medium-long hair. Here is the result! It’s really cute, isn’t it?

Ombre color didn’t stay for too long, around 1 until 2 months depends on your hair capability, but my hair considered having pretty strong absorption capability so it stay around 3 months+ for me.

After 1 month+

Please remember that bleaching in most case will resulting hair damage (dry, split-ends, etc) so you need to consider spending more time for hair treatment if you have ombre hair. After 3 months my hair became pretty dry and so many split-ends, i decided to cut it short so i can save the upper part of my hair. Andddd my hair color is still golden bronze lol. Sometimes i got question like, how come my hair color can stay that long and blablabla. But me myself didn’t know the answer either lol, i need to give a reward for my hair i guess. I didn’t recoloring after few months later that i realized my black roots already grow too long so i decided to recoloring just recently! Read here for the story and review!

That was my hair color transformation story until now and i have a plan to dyeing my hair again around next month so please wait for another review! Now, let me give some useful and important tips for you if you want to try dyeing your hair!

Know your skin tone, is it warm or cold tone? This is one of the best way to choose what color will suit you better.
Take some research to know what color suit you the best. After knowing your skin tone, you must take some research about what color should you get. So don’t be lazy and take some research! Obviously you didn’t want to choose the wrong color right? There’re so many articles from experts that will help you to choose the best color for your hair!
Can your hair absorb the color well? It’s different for everyone, if your hair can absorb the color well like mine you don’t really need to dyeing your hair twice or use bleaching to bring the color out. But! If your hair can’t really absorb the color, then i suggest you to pick brighter color, or buy two of the package, or try bleach it first. I didn’t really recommend you to bleach your hair because i didn’t want my hair became damage again but it still up to you tho.
Spent more time for hair treatment. Of course, dyeing your hair may result some hair damage and really needs extra care because it can became pretty handy after some time. Choose the right hair treatment like conditioner, vitamin, etc. If you want me to recommend you, choose conditioner and vitamin that has Keratin in it. I used Tresemme Keratin Smooth for shampoo and conditioner and this vitamin that my dad bought from Pasar Baru (lol) but has a great effect to make your hair became shiny and smooth (and it’s pretty cheap!)
Don’t afraid to experiment brighter hair color because why not haha. There’s this app you know that allow you to change your hair color and i used it for some reference as what color should i try next lol. Try searching change your hair and eye color app, it’s both available at Android and iOs. It’s a pretty fun app hehe.
Last, DO NOT SHAMPOO-ING. You clearly shouldn't do shampoo-ing after dyeing your hair or the color will wash off. Just apply the hair treatment and back to your shampoo-ing routines the next day!

We’re sorry that we need to postponed this post because the draft were suddenly missing so i need to re-write it huhu. So, Ailsa is here and this post will be our first post that won’t talk about foods! I will be reviewing Etude House Hot Style Bubble Coloring yeay! As you can notice maybe from our blog’s intro photos or my social media that i dye my hair to more look like golden bronze since a year ago and you can read my hair full transfromation here. But for now, i will be reviewing Etude House’s product!

It’s been a year since i dye my hair with this color and 8 months since i covered the black roots, so i think this is the perfect time to recoloring my hair besides my hair’s black roots already growing out around 6 cm also the color is already faded, it annoys me. The last time i dye my hair with Mise en Scene Vanilla Gold, but it was really hard to find it here so i searched for another similar color then i went to Etude House and finally chose Hot Style Bubble Gold Blonde (108k)! Maybe now they already run out of stocks because i was practically search to some Etude House store but they just have the black one ergh. I found mine at Kota Kasablanka’s store and it was the last stock ( c r y ). Enough with the story, now let’s reviewing!

Another choice of color

Korean hair coloring form mostly different from the one we know because it’s in bubble foam form so it’s really really easy to apply it just like when you’re shampoo-ing! Also you can do it by yourself no need to go to salon. That’s why i like their coloring product ehehe. You don’t need to worry about missing the tools and stuff because they all have it in the box. The box contains Coloring Liquid Number 1, Another Liquid in Number 2 Bottle, After Coloring Hair Treatment that looks like conditioner, Necessary Tools that contains Instruction, Gloves, and Plastic Cap that will cover your clothes.

This is what my hair color looks like just before i did recoloring.

Step 1: Put Number 1 in Number 2 bottle then mix it, you can feel that the bottle start to be warm.

Step 2: Put the plastic cap and the gloves on.

Step 3: Push the bottle then the foam will come out!

Step 4: Put the foam on your hand and apply it on your head starting from the roots because it needs some time to absorb.

Step 5: Apply it to the rest of your hair and don’t forget the hidden part too.

Step 6: Let it be for around 30 minutes or more it’s up to you, for me it’s 45 minutes.

Step 7: Rinse it thoroughly and you can feel your hair really dry like a broom ergh.

Step 8: Apply the hair treatment and let it be for 2-3 minutes. Step 8: Rinse it then done! You can feel your hair really smooth after the hair treatment.

It’s easy right? While applying it, you may find it a bit hurt if you have a sensitive scalp like mine but just bear with it cause beauty is pain? lol. I'm sorry i didn't took photos while i was doing it because it's already pretty much handy when you did it yourself. The color usually will last around 2 until 3 months depends on your hair endurance, for me it last more than 6 months hehet. Here is my before after and it exactly look like the one i had before! Say goodbye to black roots and faded hair color! (I didn't edit the photos at all and the color should be brighter than at the photos)

So, as our apologize, here is the second post of three days trip's to Bandung! As I told you, I was here to celebrate my bestfriend's birthday. Happy 21st Birthday to DWINIA AQMARINA!! She's one of my best pals when I was still in Unpad. We live very close and spend (almost) everything together each day. I miss living my days in Bandung with her:")

I spend a lot of time going back and forth to Bandung, so we always have that hard time deciding which place to go. Since we were all fasting, we wanted to have a super full dinner. We didn't have much option when Bamboo Dimsum was suddenly popping out of my head. Bamboo Dimsum is a All You Can Eat Dimsum restaurant which is only cost around Rp. 53.000,-. Originated from Jakarta, you can find this restaurant in many locations like Kelapa Gading, Depok, Rawamangun, and so on.

The only rule here is you need to finish all the dimsum served or they'll charge you an extra pay of those unfinished dimsum (don't worry, you can choose what you want to eat only!). They serve quite vary option of dimsum, from steam to fry. Unfortunately, it took kindda long for them to reload our empty-plated dimsum:(

Aside for the dimsum, they also give us refillable hot tea, which is super hot, and some light meal like porridge and mantau. The tea is too hot for some people that they usually ask for extra ice. Though you will need to pay for each glass of ice ordered. They also have another option of drink, but you need to pay them separately of course.

I must say, this branch is the most loving place out of other branches which are located in Jakarta. They really pay attention to the interior which is lack for those branches in Jakarta. Simple yet not-so-plain.

I saw that a lot of people not loving this place, but who can resist the undoubtedly affordable All You Can Eat Dimsum place like this?

After going for breakfasting, we moved on to find some pretty dessert! Our choice fell for Crumble & Bites as it is located not far from Bamboo Dimsum, which is in May Fair Building. The place was so pretty, can't get enough taking pictures here and there! They also have outdoor seatings which let you enjoy Bandung's chill weather and pretty scenary. The prices for cakes are around Rp. 22.000- Rp. 30.000, if I'm not mistaken. They also served main courses, but since we were here only for desserts, we didn't try to taste their other menus:(

Chickin and Chickin at Kyochon!

Hellow~ This is Ailsa again! Who can say no to fried chicken??? I'm judging you really hard right now because no one can ever resist fried chicken okay. One day, me and bella strolling around Gandaria City and despite we already have so many foods and desserts, we just can't resist the 20% off at Kyochon. So we decided to eat at Kyochon as evening "snacks" ((what)), but now we will be reviewing the one at Kota Kasablanka! Please excuse our badly taken photos because we're just getting started of our foods-photography-thingy back then.

Located at Upper Ground level of Food Society, just like the other restaurant at the same row, Kyochon has half-open places at outside and at inside near the cashier. Last year i went to Seoul for Summer School and i realized that you can easily find Kyochon at tourists attraction. But truthfully i've never tried Kyochon at Seoul, just because there're so many local restaurants that sell the same chicken ((even better)) as Kyochon and there's Kyochon in Jakarta so i can just try it the one at Jakarta he he. The ambiance was just like the one at Seoul minus handsome oppars of course and who can miss Lee MinHo's photos as the ambassador tho? lol. If you realise, i named the title of this post with Chickin not Chicken anyone know why? Because that's how Koreans read Chicken in hangul hahaha.

We've been to Kyochon for a few times already, not always together tho, and tried different kind of chicken that they offered so we will just sum up all the chicken that we've tried till now! Kyochon has 3 different sauces which are soy garlic sauce for original, hot sweet sauce for red, and honey. The first time we tried Kyochon, we ordered their Medium Red Drumsticks (75k) contains of 4 pieces drumsticks. Shockingly, the size of drumsticks was bigger than our expectations ((comparison with the other Korean franchise chicken)), the same size as our usual fried chicken at McDo and so on. We recommend this one for spicy lovers because at first you won't really find it spicy but as you eat more you will find the spiciness hit your throat at the end, that's the typical hot Korean sauce. Bella once ordered their Large Red Wings (110k) contains of 6 pieces wings. The taste was exactly the same and the size of wings were slightly bigger than the mix wings.

The second will be their famous Honey Drumsticks (120k)! Bella ordered the Large one contains of 6 pieces drumsticks. Now we know why all our friends recommend us this one. It was really really delicious! The honey sauces tastes sweet and it was perfectly match with the chicken. We're not a big fan of honey tho but this one didn't really have that typical honey taste but more like the sweetness of honey.The honey one is definitely our favorite!

Last one we will talk about their Mix Wings (99k) that contains 12 wings chicken altogether with 4 pieces of original wings, 4 pieces of red wings, and 4 pieces of honey wings. We already go through the red and honey, so now we will go to the original. The original one was good too but not as good as the other sauces. It was quite salty and make your throat dry. The size was smaller, just like that chicken wings from some brand that you can cook at home, than the normal menu. That was understandable tho because the mix one contains of 12 wings.

As you can see at the picture above, they will always give you radish kimchi. Not sure if it match Indonesians taste-buds but i like it tho rather than the spicy one that i tried once at Seoul. Well, Bella didn't really like it because it tastes pretty weird. Just try it first then judge it for yourself! Maybe if you already familiar with the usual kimchi, you can find the radish kimchi eatable too!

Beside fried chicken, they have other various menu too! Maybe next time we will try their other menu but for now let me review their Kimchi Soup (15k). Unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations. The soup supposed to taste a little bit spicy and unique sour taste of kimchi, but this one taste plain and the contents inside the soup wasn't that many (huhu sorry).

Not yet finish!! We have one last side dishes menu, Potato Wedges (26k). We read people's review said that their Potato Wedges is a must try. It is indeed a must try menu. Maybe it was just the ordinary wedges, but their seasoning tastes really good and well fried. The inside was really soft and the outside was crunchy.

For the beverages, we've tried Virgin Mojito (28k) and Orange Juice (22k). The Virgin Mojito was really good despite the mint leaves and ice cubes were too many. The orange juice was an instant one (they said) and it was really thick but it was good. The glass wasn't that big tho so maybe you need another glass especially if you order the red chicken.

For reminder, the chicken need around 20 minutes until its done because Koreans really care about the calories so they have their own techniques for frying fried chicken. The price was a bit expensive but understandable considering the size of chicken and the amount of chicken in it. Just for sharing, in Korea they serves chicken in a large amount around 7 until 9 pieces per plate for 2-3 persons and the size of chicken just exactly the same with the fried chicken we know. Pretty much huh? Koreans really like to gather at night after work and they will go either to Chicken places or BBQ places. You can easily find those two at every streets in Korea. If you wondering why Koreans chicken franchise here serve large amounts of chicken please look at these picture below that i took (and eat of course) in Seoul.

So far, Kyochon is still our favorite Korean's chicken franchise! Worth the try if you haven't! Oh, and they usually have many different promos and discounts so don't forget to ask the waiters!

Day 1: A Place to Remember

Hi everyone, this is Bella writing! From all the posts we have published, it is the first post I've ever wrote myself, because usually it's Ailsa who's in charge of writing reviews. But, since it's my personal travelling experience and she didn't partake in this journey, unfortunately I can't ask her to write it for me. lol. Anyways, I had three days full of eating experience in Bandung. Therefore, I'm gonna divide the post into three parts. I hope these posts can help you in choosing decent cafes or restaurants in Bandung!

There are a lot of cafes and restaurants in Bandung. Since I had once live in Bandung for a year and still regularly going there up until now, a lot of friends often ask my recommendation on cafes or restaurants when they go there. Sadly, my mind goes automatically blank after hearing that question. Even when I'm in Bandung, me and my friends always debate about where to eat since there's too many food places. Sometimes, we ended up at that one place again, and again. What worse is that there's no zomato in Bandung. So, I kindda have no clue where to seek for good recommendation.

Learning from that experience, I'm happy to say that now I have a platform where I can share my culinary journey in Bandung. Almost all the hippiest cafes in Bandung I've been to, up to the extent that I had it enough. So now, I'm more into local food. Unfortunately when I went there last June, there were a lot of local food restaurants that closed due to fasting-month holiday. Well then maybe, I'll post about it later in my next visit.

Honestly the reason why I went to Bandung was because of my bestfriend's birthday. On the first day, I didn't get to meet her because she had something to do. So, I went to Tizi's with my other friends after wandering around for an hour, looking for a restaurant that meets our taste for breakfasting. As I've told you before, a lot of restaurant closed due to the start of fasting month holiday. Fortunately, when we went there, it's open! Tizi's is a classic steak house located in Dago Atas (not far after MCD simpang). If you are from Bandung, you should know how iconic this place is. I recall to have my 20th birthday lunch here last year. There since have been me and my pals' favorite restaurant.

The place is kindda spacious with a yard in the middle of it, filled with a lot of flowers and plants. It is indeed really green, which makes the air here really fresh and cool. They also have their own little bakery shop, selling traditional dutch pastries, but I didn't get to take the pictures of it. So sorry:(

I ordered sirloin steak, whilst my two friends each ordered tenderloin steak and beef & egg. Like most of steak house around, you can choose your steak to be served either with french fries or mashed potato. The appearance of their mashed potato was kindda unique. Some may say it looks like noodle, while the other some may perceive it in a negative way. Still, all the menus are tasty enough to make me droll right now. Although, I must say that I'm not a fan of their BBQ sauce and so, I prefer to order beef & egg later on my next visit.

The main courses took kindda long to be served. It was even worse for my friend's beef & egg as one of the waiter said that they accidentally skipped it and had to recook. Fortunately, it didn't take much time for them to reserve it.

For drinks, actually they'll give you free tab water, but since it was cold, we decided to order hot tea in teapot.

It's indeed going to be a historical place in Bandung for me and my pals. I can imagine how we'll be making our little reunion there when we all have graduated and settled down. Last but not least, I should somewhat take Ailsa there too someday!

MDL: Local Taste with Western Touch

Who haven't gone for breakfasting with friends in this Ramadhan month? We're sure everyone already did at least once. So, last Thursday we have breakfasting with our peer group in UI "Geng Makan". It was actually quite hard to find restaurant with no pork menu nowadays, so we decided to go for Indonesian food at MDL, Kota Kasablanka! You can easily find MDL which located at Ground Floor of Food Society. The place has really elegant interior that scream expensive from outside lol. But you can feel a great ambiance especially from the interior. The place wasn't actually that spacious but not cramped either.

As you already know it always crowded and hard to find a restaurant for breakfasting in the Mall especially for a group of people, so we suggest you to make reservation first! Because apparently when we arrived all the tables were already reserved so people that came without reservation have to find another restaurant. It's weekday, couldn't imagine if it was weekend ergh.

Because we're fasting and hungry, we didn't even think to have Appetizer first lol so we ordered Italian Meatballs Spaghetti (75k) and Baked Dory Sambal Matah (87k) for Main Course, Martabak Ovomede (65k), and Strawberry Ice Tea (30k) and Ice Tea (17,5k) for Beverages.

The Italian Meatballs Spaghetti was pretty good especially the bolognese sauce from the spaghetti was really rich. The main attraction is the meatball! The meat was fully filled, juicy, and just simply delicious. Don't forget the mozarella on the top guys! The meatball mixed really well with the spaghetti and mozarella.

For the Baked Dory Sambal Matah, we expected it to be really spicy but it's not so don't be afraid of the visual in the menu lol. We thought that the green thing around the rice was 'cab rawit' but turned out it was like Urap with long beans and spiced grated coconut (not sure tho). The spicy taste actually came from the chilli on the top of Dory fish but the chilli wasn't that spicy as we thought. Thankfully the Dory fish was cooked really well and tastes delicious, so it was okay.

We actually pretty full but we still have their must-try menu, Martabak Ovomede! The review was really good for this one and it was delicious indeed. They use Pandan for the dough, at first we thought it was green tea because the color is green lol. That was a pretty good idea because the Pandan taste is pretty rich. For the filling, it was Ovomaltine with cheese and kacang mede. Don't know that those three can match really well! But it's a pity that the portion actually small for that price.

For the drink, the Ice Tea tastes just like any other Ice Tea of course nothing really special. The Strawberry Ice Tea came in a cute 'bowl' glass which surprisingly have the same amount with regular glass considering the glass was quite small. Not sure what tea they use but it was good and the strawberry tastes really strong.

No, we won't only reviewing what we ordered but also our friends'! So they ordered Pempek Fritata (40k), Angus Beef Burger (55k), Nasi Kebuli Package (95k), and Banana Nutella Crepe with Caramel Sauce (45k). For the Pempek, it was actually good eventhough we didn't expect much. It was crispy but soft in the inside and the pempek sauce was really good too! As for the noodles, it was okay because maybe we can still taste the flour.

The Angus Beef Burger came with fries and really delicious. The best part is the meat which was thick, soft, and juicy. The buns was well cooked, not too soft or too crispy and the fries was good too. The meat has pretty similar tastes with the italian meatballs actually. We really recommend this one.

Special for Ramadhan month, they're offering a Nasi Kebuli Package with ta'jil, donuts, and Ice Tea. We thought we heard it wrong but what came wasn't Nasi Kebuli which suppose to have beef, it was more like Nasi Gulai Ayam with special creamy soup (or sauces) and also there's no beef inside it. We didn't complaint tho because the breakfasting time was near. It was okay for Nasi Gulai, actually nothing really special about this dish. The chicken tastes so so but the rice was pretty good. The ta'jil was Es Cendol that came in a small tall glass. But it tastes bland, maybe they should give a separate liquid sugar. The donuts was pretty good tho.

For Banana Nutella Crepe with Caramel Sauce, it was good. It was crepes topped with banana, nutella, caramel sauce, and vanilla ice cream. The crepes wasn't that floury tho and the banana, nutella, and caramel sauce really match well. From just the toppings, we can see that you will get quite full just by eating this. We sure it contains pretty much calories lol but who cares it's nutella guys.

We had a great time here especially admiring the elegant interior lol. It's a great place which not only offer local Indonesian taste but also Western taste in their dish. It's a nice and cozy place for breakfasting with your friends or just hanging out!

Black House: Different Theme in One Place

Hi guys! This is Ailsa writing, first, I want to say that from now on we will be posting regularly every 2 or 3 days. So, make sure to catch it up! Now, I will be reviewing a cute-yet-chic place, Black House, Senopati! I'm so lucky to get invited by Zomato for my first foodie meet-up last month. I'm so excited when the invitation arrived hahaha i've been posting so many review and gain pretty much followers from then lol. Kay enough with the excitement, let's go to hear my story!

At first i thought i lost the way there because the road was dark but it turned that Black House located in a neighborhood. Don't worry! Eventhough it was dark, it was a quite environment which was different from another restaurant at Senopati that mostly took place at the main road and I personally really like quite place so i really like their environment!

Judging from the title maybe you guys already guess what's the main attraction of Black House? Yes, it's their different unique theme that they set for every floor! Black house itself is a 4 storey building which was originally the owner's house, that explains why it was located in a neighborhood.

When all of us arrived, we got a tour to all part of Black House by Kak Chewy. Our original table was on the 1st floor which devided by 3 different theme which are Coffee Area, Boutique Area, and Book Area. In this floor they also have a store that sells clothes and other stuff like that, you must visit it if you want to shop for some cool clothes! It was quite dark in this floor and even if you come at noon, this floor will always be dark because it's not an open place where you can expect the sun coming from the windows (there's no window tho). This floor is pretty suitable for a hang-out or it can be for couples too! Ah, and in every area they have special drinks which you can order only if you sit at that theme placed. You will notice a board sign contains special drink's names in your area!

Boutique Area

Next to the second floor, it's my favorite theme out of all themes and i bet every girl will choose this too, Candy Area and Flower Area! The overall ambiance for both of themes is really girly with dominant pink colour. At Candy Area you can find two display contains all kind of sweets from our childhood! It's only the cover tho so you can't eat it haha. For the Flower Area, it's designed like in a florist shop with flower on the display!

Wait! There's more on the second floor, what's that? The Black House Beauty Salon! The salon actually already close that day because they close at 7pm every day but Kak Chewy show it to us, lot of yeay! All of us was like "Woah" when we enter the salon. It was really really pretty and unique for a salon. You should just saw the photos and judge it for yourself! Me and Bella will try their salon soon and we will make a review!

The third floor dedicated to music lover, Music Area! You can see the owner's collection of records and cassettes. It gives more of manly feels at this area. Black House also make a collaboration, so on this floor there's kinda-like-bar that sells Vape. For you guys who use Vape make sure to visit the third floor!

Let's move to the last and the main theme at Black House, it's Heaven Area at Rooftop! I should say that it's more suitable for couple? Hahaha maybe because it's rooftop so it's more romantic lol. But the decoration is more about American style on the left side and they just redecorate it so maybe they will have a new theme for this one! For your reminder, the rooftop is open at 6pm because at noon the sun is just too strong in Jakarta right?

After a really great tour, we finally get to eat! I was pretty surprised when Kak Qoni (she's the one who invited me and a part of Zomato's staff!) said we will have 7 dishes in total for Appetizer, Main Course, and Dessert. Let's start with the Appetizer. The first one is Chicken Quesadillas. It's Quesadilla in triangle shaped that filled with shredded chicken, grilled onion, and melted cheese with salsa sauce (not sure if it's salsa or not but it similar with the one you eat with nachos tho). It's pretty cheesy and have this sour taste which i think came out form the salsa sauce. I really like the salsa sauce tho! Because it balances the taste of floury Quesadillas!

The second appetizer is Chilli Fries, french fries with ground beef and melted cheese. It's a must try dish for french fries lover like me! The fries was well cooked because it's not that crunchy and it mixes really really well with the ground beef and melted cheese. I really really love it!

Here comes the 3 Main Courses. I will start with my favorite which is Spinach Stuffed Chicken with Fries. It's a boneless chicken stuffed with spinach and corn topped with alfredo sauces and for the fries it was different with the Chilli Fries because it's seasoned with spices. It tastes really really good eventho you're not a veggie person because the chicken covered the taste of spinach really well so you won't really taste the spinach, just a little bit!

The second one is Asian Fried Noodles. It's "Mie Goreng" that served with chicken katsu and sunny side up. I'm not a big fans of fried noodles, but this one is really good. They spice it well so it has savory tastes that different with any other fried noodles and it's not too oily which is good, but it's quite spicy tho. The chicken katsu is soft in the inside and pretty crunchy on the outside!

The last main course is Black House's new menu, Black House Rice Bowl. Of course there's rice (a special rice to be exact) at the bottom topped with beef patty, spinach, sweet corn and omelette. Because the rice bowl was last to served, i was pretty full so i only ate two spoons of it. Doesn't mean it wasn't delicious, it was really good and has a rich taste that came from the rice. My favorite is surely the beef patty! It's really tasty and juicy, i just can't resist meat tummy i'm so sorry.

There's always second tummy for desserts right? Hahaha so i will introduce you to 2 main star of Black House's dessert, Ugly Nutella and Black Milo. Cute name, isn't it? As you can see at the pic, they put it on a special plate with special arrangement for us! It usually served like brownies tho so don't worry you about only getting a little pieces of it lol. At the top is Ugly Nutella. It's actually a brownies but they didn't use flour so it wasn't greasy and you can taste the rich flavor of nutella. The one at the bottom is Black Milo. I really love Black Milo rather tahn Ugly Nutella tho. At the bottom is a nougat which i really really like and it perfectly balances the sweetness of chocolate taste! Definitely my fav!

For the beverages, i ordered Paris Night and New York Morning. It's pretty much taste like chocolate milkshake with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and cherry on top and has rich taste of chocolate and pretty thick actually so please don't drink it too much before eating or you will get a full tummy beforehand hoho.

Wow that was quite a long review, but it's worth it! It's really a nice place to hang out and for couple too. Definitely will come back with Bella to try their salon, please wait for the salon's review! Thank you Kak Qoni and Kak Chewy!

Zenbu: Cheezy Japanese Dining

Hello guys! For our second post we will reviewing a hot place for satisfying your Japanese taste-buds, The House of Mozaru, Zenbu! We came to the branch in Kota Kasablanka around 2 months ago. Located exactly one floor below Sushi Tei, which is actually a bit secluded even for us who are really familiar with Kota Kasablanka lol, and it’s a Japanese restaurant so of course the theme is all about Japanese maybe kinda more like Japanese street-food style. We never been at Japan before but images on Google pretty convincing about this street-food style lmao. The place was pretty big with mostly sofa-seated except the one at the center so we request for that seat because it’s different and kinda cute with the wooden decoration at the side. Also there's a transparant kitchen so you can see the chef cooking your meal! We didn’t have a good sight of it because we sat pretty far for the kitchen huf too bad.

We had a pretty tough week and want to go bar-bar for lunch so we ended up ordering Wagyu Cheese Roll (59k) for Appetizer, Reguler Salmon Mozaru with Butter Rice and Dynamite Cheese Sauce (79k), Sweet Beef Teppanyaki (69k) for Main Course, Banana Milk Juice (28k) for Drinks, and Ichigo Parfait (39k) for Dessert. So much for two girls portion huh?

Of course the Appatizer should come first. The Wagyu Cheese Roll contains 4 pieces with wagyu slices covering the enoki mushroom and melted cheese also there are cute-shaped carrots and brocolli at the side. It was served on a hotplate and tastes really really delicious. You can just eat it in one go and you will taste the sweetness of wagyu meat and juicy boiled enoki united with rich taste of cheese. It’s a really tasty combination omg.

The Main Course is arrived! For Sweet Beef Teppanyaki, it was pretty big and contains large amounts of beef and typical teppanyaki veggies (beansprouts, sweet corns, mushroom, and some green vegetables) on a hotplate! There’s also egg and you can choose the egg between half cooked or done depends on your preferences. We choose half cooked tho (we answered the waiter at the same time lol). Please note that the egg will eventually cooked because the heat of hotplate. The beef was tasty and juicy also the teppanyaki sauce was really sweet! It goes really well with the juicy beef! Maybe not everyone like sweet beef, don’t worry you can choose the spicy one which has black pepper taste but we really recommend you to try the sweet beef. The veggies tastes really fresh and better to mix it with teppanyaki sauce!

And the last one for main course was their signature Mozaru! You must be getting spoiled by their slogan The House of Mozaru right? So do us haha. Getting spoiled by the slogan so we decided to order Regular Mozaru with Salmon topping and Butter Rice also the Dynamite for the sauce. At first the visual kinda look like pasta with mozarella covering all the foods below it.

The mozarella was the first layer which was pretty thick and has a rich and delicious tastes of mozarella, the second layer will be Dynamite sauce which has spicy taste but we weren’t sure why couldn’t really taste the sauce tho, the third layer is the topping and it’s salmon for us which is well fried because the outside was quite crispy and the meat was soft, and the last layer is the butter rice that’s tasty but not the main star of the dish because it tastes pretty much like usual rice but the crispy salmon and the rich mozarella covered the taste of it!

For the drink yes we only ordered 1 because we want to try their parfait! Even from the menu you can’t resist to try their parfait haha. We chose Banana Milk Juice for the drink and fortunately it’s a real banana mixed with milk (not banana flavoured milk thanks god). But maybe because we ate so many foods that we thought it was really thick and sweet. It’s still good tho!

Last one! Our favourite of the day definitely their Ichigo Parfait! It was a strawberry-kinda-dessert with strawberry ice cream on top, thick and sweet whipped cream, a wafer, fresh fruit strawberry slices, and vanilla ice cream at the bottom. It was simply delicious, really fresh, and not too sweet. We have no objection at all for this one and you MUST try it! Promise us you must try it!

Well, we have a really great lunch experience here! The ambiance was nice thanks to the well-designed-Japanese-style decoration. But maybe because the light was in yellowish tone and the table was wooden style we couldn’t get a nice lightning for the photos, so please excuse us for the bad taken photo.... (we tried to edit it but............ it turned out not as we expected so we are really sorry!). We hope you can get a great experince dining like we did!

Casadina Kitchen & Bakery: Big Plate for Big Tummy!

Welcome to our first post yeay! We’re really excited to start our first restaurant’s review of that “IT” places to hang out, Casadina Kitchen & Bakery, Kuningan! It located exactly inside Apartment Rasuna Tower 17 opposite Epicentrum Mall. If you came from Kuningan, you can go to that alley beside Pasar Festival which lead you to Epicentrum Mall then make a U-turn in front of it and tadaaa you can perfectly see Casadina’s sign on your left. Because it’s really near to the U-turn, dont’ miss out the entrance! (because we nearly did hehe). The entrance to Casadina was a bit confusing for us at first because it’s near the alley between Casadina and the nearest bulding apartment, so please don’t be confuse like we did lol.

The waiter kindly welcome us and we sat in front of the counter just beside the window. We asked the waiter about their main courses specialty and he recommend us to order which were Chicken Parmagiana (65k) and Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken Breast (65k). For the drink we ordered Green Tea Almond Milk (35k) from their Healthy Crushes and Slushes (its their specialty for beverages) and Candy Mint Chocolate (35k). After ordering, we scanned through the menu again and decided to add Chilli Salted Dusted Calamari (55k) for Appetizer. We suggest you to ask the waiter about their specialty, you may find it hard to choose what to order because all the dishes’ name (yes the name) looks really good!

Not after a long time, the beverages came first. The Green Tea Almond Milk served in an small elegant glass. The green tea and milk tastes pretty strong which surely match green tea milk lovers. At first you can’t really tell where’s the almond but after sometimes it finally came out in a crushes form. Maybe because it came in a tiny crushes so sometimes it can stuck on your throat, please be careful not to drink it too fast tho. The Candy Mint Chocolate served in a regular blended glass which definitely bigger then the first one. Chocolate dominates the whole drink which really good for a sweet tooth and you can taste a hint of mint that gives off refreshing taste. Not sure where the candy title are from..... maybe the chocolate is actually a candy? Because you can’t really taste the candy sweet taste.

Finally our appetizer Chilli Salted Dusted Calamari are served, lot of yeay! We’re quite shock seeing the big plate, not even expecting it will be that big. The plate was big indeed but the food was even better because the portion was also pretty big!. The calamari was fried and dusted with asian herbs and chilli padi. The calamari was fried really nicely, not oily but not too much flour either. The asian herbs turned out tastes like fried onion and the chilli padi weren’t spicy so don’t be afraid of the title! Overall it tastes a bit salty which we certained it came from the asian herbs and the chilli padi.

Here it comes our Main Courses for today, Chicken Parmagiana and Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken Breast! The Chicken Parmagiana came with what seems like spaghetti bolognese at the bottom, boneless chicken topped with mozarella, and fried onion at top of it. The boneless chicken was really crispy and fried really well, you can also taste a rich taste of cheese from the mozarella, really tastes like heaven. The spaghetti bolognese tastes like any other bolognese and it was okay for us, we’re not a big fan of pasta actually sorry!.

The Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken Breast came with fried potato, a little vegetables like tomato cherries and zucchini, and mushroom sauce. The grilled chicken breast tastes really really great and came as our favourite! The chicken was grilled really well even if you didn’t really like grilled foods because the sweet taste of honey mustard covered the grilled smell. The fried potato has a bit salty tastes at the outside and a pretty soft potato on the inside. We prefer to dig in the chicken in to the mushroom sauce rather than pour it to the chicken because we afraid we would ruined the chicken but please choose to your preferences!

Note!!! All the dishes we ordered came in a pretty big plates, we assumed so do the other dishes hehe. Because we didn’t expect it will came in big plates, we couldn’t try their cakes because we were soooo full and we need to catch a movie ㅠㅠ.

Casadina is indeed a great place to hang out with your friends or just enjoying your me time because the place wasn’t that big and pretty secluded so it gives you some kind of privacy. You will get a cozy homey feeling that comes from their wooden style and the greenhouse theme was an unique idea. You will find the place was a instagram-worthy haha, especially there’s a pool in front of Casadina!! Eventhough the pool wasn’t that clean.... well we certain that it’s not for swimming lol. We were having a lot of fun taking photos outside!!
