If you are faced with replacing an existing air conditioner, or purchasing a new cooling system altogether. What factors should I take into account?

In choosing the right whole home cooling system for your needs, one should consider the following:

Seer rating (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio)

This dictates how much direct energy consumption the home cooling system uses. Like miles to the gallon, the higher the number, the better the fuel economy. In the case of the air conditioner, the less electricity consumption. Today, the minimum S.E.E.R. rating is 13, but go as high as 21 S.E.E.R.

Sound Levels

Depending on the placement of the new outdoor unit, the noise level may be a very important factor to consider. Each home cooling system will have it’s own decibel sound level rating. Today’s maximum sound level is 76decibels, but can go down to as low as 65decibels. Keeping in mind that every 3 decibels is twice the sound intensity

Physical Size

Different air conditioners will have different physical dimensions. Typically the higher the S.E.E.R. rating the larger the dimensions will be. Consider the location and make sure there is enough room to allow the unit to breathe.

Protective Design

Various whole home cooling systems will have different construction. The rather delicate aluminum fin coils can be better protected with heavier gauge metal shrouds and offer a more sturdy design. Going to showrooms to see the differences is a good idea. AireOne has nine locations in Southwestern Ontario that you can visit. Each showroom will have various air condition models for you to compare.

If you have been thinking of upgrading or installing a new whole home air conditioning system, now is the time to get the appropriate facts, figures and information you need to make a proper and informed decision.

Now, is when you will get better value for your money, because contractors in the heating and cooling business are not as busy as when the warm weather hits. Contractor off season discounts combined with rebate incentive programs from O.P.A. (Ontario Power Authority) and Manufacturers add up to making now a very compelling reason to buy sooner rather than later.

What factors should I be looking at when having a new whole home cooling system installed in my home?

First and foremost is aligning yourself with a reputable contractor. The quality of workmanship and level of after sale service is paramount. I don’t care how good the product is if it’s not installed right it won’t work right. Also the warranty is only as good as the installing company service department. Look for companies who have been in the business 20+ years, like AireOne.

Secondly, look for brand name products. Manufacturers like Carrier, York, Lennox and Trane are old companies and proven manufacturers.

Thirdly, be able to compare different models properly. Each major manufacturer offer’s a number of different models to choose from, each having their own different features, benefits and price points. Each models offer different direct energy and natural gas savings.

Lastly, proper sizing is imperative. Bigger is not better when it comes to sizing for home central air conditioning. Any whole home air conditioner does two main functions. Remove heat and remove humidity. Over sizing can result in “quick cycling” or going on and off too quickly. The air conditioner will not be on long enough to remove enough humidity from the air, giving cold clammy air to your home. This can affect the cozy and comfortable feeling in your living area.

With all these factors involved in choosing the right cooling system for your home and family, I can answer any questions you may have in regards to sizing, costs, installation even rebates available for you.

Call 310-HEAT(4328) in the Greater Metropolitan Toronto area

Darren Rollins

AireOne Technical Advisor

darren.rollins@aireone.com

Visit AireOne.com & AireOne.ca OR Call 310-HEAT(4328)

Allow Aireone To Help You Assess If Your Heating System Will Last The Winter Season.

Could this be the year that you need to replace your current heating system with a new furnace or boiler for your home? As big of an investment as purchasing a new furnace is, the comfort of your family is even more important. The older our heaters get through the years, safety becomes a major concern. Effectiveness and efficiency are also two key factors, because with the age of the heating system, gas leaks in your furnace can become a strong possibility.

What factors can help you with the decision to repair or replace your current heating system? The following factors should help you with your decision whether to repair or replace what you have in your home.

Replace your heating system if it is beyond 10-15 years old. These systems are highly inefficient in compared to today’s standards. With their inefficiencies, you could be spending up to 40-60% more on your monthly utility bills. AireOne Technical Advisors can help you assess how much you could be saving with a new heating system.

Replace your heating system if you are looking to save your energy costs. Reducing your energy consumption by installing a new heating system, along with the Ontario Power Authority rebate and manufacturer rebates available can help to pay for the new furnace in your home. As well as afterwards it will keep making you by direct energy and natural savings every month. Right now, AireOne has special winter pricing on Carrier and York high efficiency furnaces.

Replace your heating system if it is in constant repair. If your current heating system in your home is still in good to great condition, it makes sense to repair it once or twice. If however the unit breaks down often, the repair costs alone each time may even add up to being more than the cost of a new heating system. Not to mention taking away from the comfort of your home and added stress.

Replace your home heating system if you are selling your home soon. A newly installed heating system will add to the value of your home on the buyers market. As well even if you will be living in the home for a long time, it could be a great investment to the cozy ambiance and comfort for your family.

Replace your home heating system if it is used on a daily basis during the winter heating season. However, if you do not rely on your furnace equipment very much, relying more on fireplaces and other sources of heat, utility bills and exceptional performance may not be as important. If the latter is your case, then you may not need to replace your existing heating system. But for others, the reliance you have on your heating system to work when called is very important.

If you need professional honest advice to which route you should take in regards to your home heating system, contact AireOne.

One reason is that is it broken and the cost of repair is too high. Second reason is the furnace in your home is old and may not be as efficient to help save you in gas and direct energy costs to your monthly bills.

In both situations, you may want to think about installing a high efficiency furnace to help save in your monthly utility costs.

However, before changing your home heating system there are a few points you should consider.

Choosing the right size

You most likely do not need a heater with the same input as your current furnace, because in simple terms. The output is the amount of gas your furnace burns and the output is the amount of heat that goes into your home. Translate this into dollars and cents, if the furnace in your home is 60-70% efficient (most older furnaces are), for every dollar that you spend on natural gas. You get 60-70 cents used to heat your home while 30-40 cents is wasted through your chimney. With the new high efficiency furnaces, you have up to 96-98% efficient models which results in 2-4 cents left unused. The differences between the savings are enormous.

Also majority of the furnaces have a DC motor. A DC (direct current) motor distributes the flow of air much better than an AC (alternate current) motor and consumes far less hydro, resulting in direct energy savings to your monthly bill.

There are many other factors as well that you may want to think about before choosing which heating system is best for you and your home. I can help go over each factor with you to choose the best home heating system.

Please contact me in regards to any questions you may have or call 310-HEAT(4328) in the Greater Metropolitan Toronto area.

Sam Daliri

AireOne Technical Advisor

sam.daliri@aireone.com

Why? Because energy prices have been historically high in Asia and Europe, compared to North America.

However, now that we are experiencing higher utility costs here in North America, tankless water heaters are being used more frequently to replace the traditional tank style water heater.

If you think about the way we have been heating our water with tank style water heaters, it is rather archaic. We are storing 40, 50 or even 60 gallons of water in a storage tank. The temperature of that water must be kept at 140F to prevent the stored water from becoming diseased or stagnant. The 65% efficient at best, gas burner turns on and off 24hrs/day, 365 days a year to continually overheat our water to 140F. When we finally actually go to use hot water we, we have to mix it with cold water to cool it down so we don’t burn ourselves.

Tankless or Instantaneous water heaters on the other hand, only burn gas when we are using hot water, with up to 98% efficiency, providing unlimited hot water supply. Tankless water heaters also save a lot of space, very compact, wall hung and side wall vented (no chimney needed).

Purchasing a tankless water heater can reduce your hot water heating and direct energy consumption costs up to 50%, provide unlimited hot water on demand, save space, reduce your carbon footprint and eliminate increasing rental fee’s and contracts.

There are several different manufacturers to choose from like Navien, Nortiz, Rinnai, Takagi and various models within each brand.

Proper sizing & installation is very critical and at AireOne we only use factory certified installers.

Dry air that causes nose irritations and/or nose bleeds? Does the wood in your home become dry and brittle? While walking on your hard wood floors, do you hear the creak with each step you take? You may not be getting enough humidity in your home during the colder months. How can you resolve this? A humidifier.

A humidifier is a household appliance that can increase the moisture in a single room or in the entire house. Whole home or furnace humidifiers which connect to a home's HVAC system to provide moisture to the entire house. You have the following options:

Fan-Powered Humidifiers are independent units with their own fans that add moisture directly into your ducts. Bypass Humidifiers work together with your heating system to deliver enhanced moisture throughout your home. Companies like AprilAire, Lennox and Healthy Climate are some manufacturers of these types of humidifiers.

Both options are quiet, energy efficient ways to make your home cozier, comfortable, and reduce static electricity. As well as a direct energy savings to your monthly electric bill.

A third option is steam humidifiers. Steam humidifiers work like a tea kettle. It involves the heating of water and allow steam to shoot up and out through the top. This steam is usually very hot and will do a nice job at keeping the area warm. Unlike a tea kettle, the steam humidifier works on a larger area. Honeywell is a major manufacturer of these types of humidifiers

So how do you know which one is best for you and your home? You could have a trial and error period with all three units, but the cost of doing so would not be kind to the pocketbook.

Or you can contact me.

There are many benefits you get when it comes to opting out of the old and in with the new.

Furnace efficiency varies from 40% to 98%. The higher the efficiency of the furnace the less electricity and natural gas it consumes to heat your home. Components like the DC variable motor of the furnace helps to save up to 70% electricity. That is a significant direct energy savings to your electricity bill. With the new furnaces, the higher the efficiency of your heating system, the less percentage of wasted natural gas is blowing out of the exhaust. For example a 60% efficient furnace putting $100.00 worth of natural gas would use $60.00 worth to heat your home. The remaining $40.00 is being blown out unused from your home. The more efficient the furnace, less unused natural gas is wasted. Greener heating systems and less carbon footprint left on the earth. Do you know efficiency of the heater in your home? How much of your money are you really using to heat your home? Can your home be more cozy and comfortable for you and your family?

With the advancements for safety in the new furnaces, you get piece of mind when it comes to safety and security. Precautionary safety switches, pressure switches, flame sensors all work together to not only help the furnaces work efficiently, but prevent any safety hazards and dangers to you and your loved ones. Noise levels from your new heating system are as low as your refrigerator when being used. Whisper quiet performance. Can you hear your heater in the basement from your bedroom on the second floor? Do you have concerns about the operations and safety of your home heating system?

Savings from your electricity and natural gas bills and Ontario Power Authority rebates help to make your installation of your new heating system pay for itself in a matter of a few years. Manufacturers readily have rebates for choosing to upgrade your homes heating. As well as a standard manufacturer 10 years extended parts warranty help to make owning a new furnace hassle free installing a new heating system is very cost effective and will increases the value of your home.

The only remaining question then would be which manufacturer for your heating needs? Carrier, York, Lennox, Goodman, Keeprite, Trane, Rheem, American Standard to name a few.

As a home owner, there is some minor maintenance that you can do to help keep your heating system running well. However there are very important points and components of a furnace that need the knowledge and expertise of a licensed gas technician. Gas valve adjustments, Carbon monoxide test. Control board inspection and testing. These are some components that need careful examining, cleaning and adjustments that only a license gas technician.

Knowing that any potential safety hazards have been dealt with can give you peace of mind

through out the heating season. The current heating systems are very efficient, but one factor many people do not consider is that they take the moisture out of your home. This results in dry air conditions in your home, causing difficulty and pain breathing.

Dry air can also cause cracks in wood furniture and wood floors. Most insurance and flooring companies require a humidifier for insurance coverage and honoring warranties.

Another factor that most people don’t know about is the besides comfort that I mentioned, having a humidifier will bring the heating costs of your home lower. A whole home humidifier can have effects on your natural gas use and direct energy consumption. We all know that in the summer we feel the weather much warmer than it is when the humidity level is high. So by installing and running a humidifier we can set our thermostats at 22C but have the feeling of 24C in our home. This leaves your home feeling cozy and comfortable.

Major humidifier companies are AprilAire and General Air, but most furnace companies like Carrier, Lennox and York offer their own brand.

There are different types of humidifier regarding the way they operate, such as flow through, power and steam humidifiers.

If you are not sure if your home needs a humidifier, or whether a humidifier will be useful for you. Please contact me via email or the number below with any questions you may have or for more information regarding the humidifiers.

Call 310-HEAT(4328) within the Greater Metropolitan Toronto area. I will be happy to provide you with all information and answers you need.

Instead of cooling just the small, insulated space inside of a refrigerator, an air conditioner cools a room, a whole house, or an entire business. This adds a high level of comfort in the hot summer months for you and your family.

The air conditioner has three main parts. There is the compressor, a condenser and an evaporator. The compressor and condenser are usually located outside of your home. The evaporator is located on the inside of the house, sometimes as part of the home heating system.

The evaporator coil is been connected the compressor by line sets that uses refrigeration.

Air conditioners use chemicals that easily convert from a gas to a liquid and back again. This refrigeration is used to transfer heat from the air inside of a home to the outside air.

Older residential air conditioners rely on hydro chlorofluorocarbons, or HCFCs, for this purpose. The one most often used is called HCFC-22, or R-22, known as Freon. It was discovered later on that this gas was not environmentally friendly and was replaced by a new greener gas named Puron or R410a.

Puron is a brand name for a refrigerant called R-410A. All air conditioner manufacturers are starting to use Puron in their products because it's reported to be nonflammable, generally viewed as nontoxic, and cause less impact on atmospheric ozone.

After all, both your winter heating bill and your summer air conditioning bill can seem astronomical, especially if you live in a house that has air flow problems. Luckily, companies like Aire One are working to help reduce those costs and one way to do that is with a heat recovery ventilator.

Carrier Infinity ICS Furnace - Affordable, Higher Efficiency

How can I bring my heating bill down? Is my furnace good enough to heat up my entire home? Are there better alternatives to the furnace I own? How can I bring down my furnace's noise level? These are some of the questions that arise before and during winter, and that of course depend much on many factors surrounding both, your furnace, your home, and your budget.

The very first thing one has to understand, is that efficiency is valued as a long-term commodity, and usually the initial cost of setting up a more efficient system, tends to be higher than what people might expect, or are willing to spend. Add to this the fact that machines break down, and they tend to break down more often when they are "inexpensive solutions", and you are in for a surprise. But the advantages of having a more efficient system, will become evident as bills start coming in.
(Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is the amount of cooling your system will deliver per dollar spent on electricity. The higher the S.E.E.R. rating means the more efficient your cooling system works. For every S.E.E.R. point that you go up the more direct energy savings you receive. Approximately, about 8 to 10% on your hydro bill and electricity monthly bill.

Most typical air conditioners in Toronto have the S.E.E.R. rating of 8 to 10 S.E.E.R. which considered to not be an energy saving products. When you change your air conditioning to a new energy star product, your savings would be anywhere from 30% to 50% of the consumption of hydro used by your air conditioner. As the hydro rates are going up your direct energy savings will be greater when using the higher S.E.E.R. rated cooling system.

With the smart meter as the mandatory meter for house hold hydro consumption in Toronto,

you get charged different rates for the different time of the day usage .When you use your air conditioner during the peak time, which has the highest rate. Compared to lower S.E.E.R. rated cooling systems, the higher S.E.E.R. air conditioner will use less energy in cooling down your home. Less energy consumption, high green rating and more efficient in keeping your home cozy and comfortable for you and your family.

One ton equals to 12,000 BTU/H. Residential whole home cooling systems can range from 1 to 5 ton.

The new home cooling system goes up and down by half of a ton. Just like buying a shoe, half a size makes a big difference in efficiency, performance and future repair of the air conditioner.

If the unit is too small for your home, it will never have the capacity to fully cool your entire home. If it is too big, the unit will cycle too many times on and off and would cost you more for hydro and future repair costs.

Depending on the age, location and structure of the house, a quality energy consultant could find the right size air conditioner for your home. Having the right size air conditioner can help with the comfort of your home and help you with direct energy savings to your monthly hydro bill.

The fan motor of our heating system isn't something most of us consider.

If you have a “builders model” furnace or your furnace is 4 years or older, it most likely is using a P.S.C. motor, or induction motor. P.S.C. motor consume 515 watts of electricity. The better models of home heating systems today feature what is called an E.C.M. or brushless D.C. (direct current) motor, which consume significantly less electricity, and are much quieter.

With rebate incentives from O.P.A. (Ontario Power Authority) people who are looking to upgrade their whole home heating system are specifically looking for or are advised to buy a furnace with a D.C. motor.

However, most people do not understand that there are two types of D.C. motors depending on the model of furnace.

The following is a comparison of the three different types of motors any model of heaters may have:

P.S.C. or induction motor, speed range of 800-1100RPM, peak efficiency of 59%, average power: cooling 515watts, average power continuous fan: 515watts

Standard ECM or X-13 motor; speed range of 600-1100RPM, peak efficiency of 80%, average power: cooling 413watts, average power continuous fan: 200watts

Premium ECM or Thinktank 3.0; speeds are variable, speed range 200-1300RPM, peak efficiency 80%, average power cooling 413watts, average power continuous fan: 83watts

As you can see, not all brushless D.C. motors are the same. True variable speed motor’s offer enhanced direct energy savings, quieter sound and improved coziness and comfort in your home.

The old saying "if it's not broke don't fix it", does not apply when talking about a gas furnace. And with so many manufacturers out there, (Carrier, York, Lennox, Trane, Rheem, Keeprite, American Standard etc..) how can you tell which is heater is for you?

Improved comfort

Today's heater technology is allowing people to benefit from significantly enhanced comfort. Modulating gas valves and D.C. Variable speed blower motors provide the perfect amount of heat and air flow every time it comes on, no matter how warm and cold the weather gets outside. Hence, balancing the temperature evenly through the entire home. Do you have problem areas in your home? Would you like to be more comfortable?

Safety

First of all, it’s a gas furnace! When it is not working right it can be dangerous. i.e.: Carbon Monoxide (the silent killer). You can't smell, see or taste it. The best reason why anyone should replace an older furnace is for safety & peace of mind. Why wait for a potentially dangerous situation to occur? How can you tell if your heating system is safely operating?

Peace of Mind

Many of the furnaces today come with a 10 year factory parts warranty and lifetime manufacturer warranty on heat exchangers. Giving peace of mind and protecting your return on investment. Imagine buying something that paid for itself in 4 years, and it has a 10 year parts warranty! Do you know if your heater is still covered under warranty?

Quieter Operation

New furnaces can have sound levels as low as 68 decibels. Literally as quiet as a refrigerator. Now that we are finishing our basement a lot more than in the past, this can be a noticeable benefit. The quieter operations can provide cozy comfort to all areas of your home and for you.

Increase the Value of your Home

Buying a home is the single biggest purchase we make in our lives. As a result, people are diligent in having home inspections performed. Having a new high efficient furnace adds value, and becomes a selling feature. Warranties are transferrable

Tax Free Investment

Secondly, it is probably the best investment a home owner can make. It provides a TAX-FREE return on investment. Gas & Electrical savings on an average 20 year old home with 2000square feet can be as much as $1000/year. That is a significant direct energy and natural gas savings. With these savings your new heating system can pay for itself in less than 4 years. Would you like to find out how much you can save on an annual basis?

My name is Darren Rollins. How to choose what is right for you and your home?

In the market of heating and cooling, we come across many manufacturers. We see in the industry Carrier, York, Lennox, Goodman, Keeprite, Trane, Rheem, American Standard etc... With all the manufacturers out in the market, how can one make a decision on which is the best for you and your needs?

The many reviews and specifications on the internet can be very confusing and misleading. Sometimes all this information can help you make a decision about which manufacturer you will purchase your next heating and cooling system from. Other times the descriptions and information each manufacturer gives you can just make your decision even harder.

A lot of the reviews on the internet or in magazines are very basic reviews. They describe what heating systems and the manufacturers provide this can include the technical specifications. Consumer opinions are a double edged sword, they can be very valuable to your decision or your worst enemy.

When you are starting your search, forget about the manufacturer. As crazy as this sounds, this will be able to help you make a better decision on which heating system is best for you. You may have stumbled on information that shows you that parent companies actually have many different manufacturing names. For example: Carrier, Bryant and Heil are all under the same parent company. There are very little differences in technology between them. AireOne Technical Advisors will be able to

When you are ready to your heating or cooling system, take your time. Check out the Better Business Bureau. Talk to your friends, family and neighbours who have just had a recent installation. Speak to local contractors. Most local contractors will carry a few different manufacturers and can give you honest advice on what is best for you and your home. Choosing a few good contractors will be able to help your equipment decision come more easily. Even if you have the best equipment on the market, having it installed incorrectly will still result on a failing heating or cooling system.

You may have questions like how can my furnace or air conditioner provide me direct energy savings on my monthly utilities? With my reliance on my heating or cooling system to work when needed, will my choice provide me comfort and peace of mind?

At AireOne, we have been in the heating and cooling industry for over 25 years. There are warning signs that are easily recognizable while some others need an expert to find. A broken furnace can cause loss of heat and uncomfortable temperatures in your home, but also be very deadly to you and your loved ones.

Here are some common warning signs AireOne Service Technicians have come across during some services at customer’s homes.

A very dangerous and deadly sign, which cause hundreds of deaths and injure many others by the most common poison in your home: carbon monoxide. Colourless, odourless and tasteless this poison gas comes from different sources and in your home the furnace is the most common source. More evident signs come from broken or malfunctioning heating systems. Carbon monoxide comes from natural gas in the furnace that has not properly combusted (not burning correctly or completely). Poorly operating burners or cracked secondary heat exchangers can cause carbon monoxide to leak from your home furnace. Properly up kept heating systems can greatly reduce carbon monoxide poisoning to you and your family.

Because of the nature of carbon monoxide it can be undetectable unless precise tools are used. Carbon monoxide poisoning can cause drowsiness and flu like symptoms. In worse cases, a person may go to sleep and not wake up. Regular schedule furnace maintenance by an AireOne Service Technician can greatly reduce the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning in your home.

Another sign to be aware of is higher energy consumption. Higher than your average monthly usage of natural gas and hydro may show that your heater may be working harder than a well maintained heating system. Causes could be dirty or even clogged air filter and ducts. If your recent monthly bills seem higher than the past years or even the months passed, chances are it may not be just the rise in natural gas prices. An expert opinion from an AireOne Service Technician can help diagnose your home heating system.

Many other warning signs can be evident as well to suggest a broken furnace. A tell tale sign is an evident failure during the furnaces operations. Cold, unresponsive furnaces are another sign. As well as a furnace that attempts to fire up, but does nothing but blow cold air into the home. Strange smells coming from your vents or loud or uneven noises during furnace operations are other signs. Whichever the symptom, an AireOne Service Technician will be able to diagnose your problem. Whether it is Carrier, York, Lennox or other brands, our Technicians are well versed and experienced with all makes and models.

Suspect that you may be experiencing symptoms of a broken furnace? Contact us at aireonservice@rogers.com or call 310-HEAT(4328) to set up a diagnostic call to assess your situation.

The perfect heat source for your home using the radiant system, innovative gas and oil fired boilers deliver consistent warmth without the noise and draft associated with forced air systems.

Radiators are the way the boilers circulate the hot water into each and every part of your home. The piping built into your home would circulate into each room and the radiator would be used to release the heat into those rooms.

Boilers can also be used for radiant in-floor heating. This has become a popular idea in older home renovations, or in brand new custom built homes. Using special plastic tubing, loops under hardwood, ceramic or tiled floors. There is nothing quite like the warmth & comfort of in floor heating.

Boilers can also be used with ductwork in combination with air handlers and hydronic heating coils. Allowing home owners to use a central air conditioning system for cooling.

As with the new modern furnaces, the new boilers also come in mid and high efficient units. Anywhere from 70-80% for mid efficient to 90-96% for high efficient models. The higher the efficiency rating the less gas/oil used and more direct energy savings in heating your home.

How do you know which unit is best for you and your needs? How can you determine if your home can use the boiler heating system?

Here at AireOne we have experienced technical advisors that can help with sizing and installation for your home. They can also help with the making your home feel cozy, comfortable for you and your family.
With the proper amount of moisture we can avoid bloody noses and uncomfortably itchy dry skin. As well proper humidity levels can help decrease the symptoms of the common cold and the chance of catching sinus infections.

Adding whole house humidification to your home can also help stop cracking, warping, separating and buckling of hard wood floors and your wood furniture. As well as helping to lower static electricity, while raising the indoor air quality of your home. The result? A cozy comfortable home for you and your loved ones.

The best and ideal way to achieve the right moisture levels is to add a whole home humidifier. Humidifiers can connect to the existing ducts of your home to add the proper moisture all day when the furnace heat cycle is active. Having said this you are now faced with two main types of whole home humidifiers. Steam and Flow through bypass humidifiers.

Steam humidifiers operate the same as a steam kettle. Creates steam within the humidifier itself and it outputs that steam directly into the supply or return duct work in your home where it is then moved through all areas of your home. Honeywell is a major manufacture of these types of humidifiers

Flow through bypass humidifiers work by flowing water through a special humidifier pad/panel. When the furnace heat cycle passes through the special pad/panel, it takes the water vapors through the duct work and through your home. You have AprilAire, Carrier, and Healthy Climate to name some manufacturers of flow through bypass humidifiers.

So how do you choose which is the best option for you? What is the real difference between both humidifiers? The efficiency of using the water that goes into the humidifier. With the flow through bypass model it is less efficient in using water. About 20-25% of the water that goes through flows through the humidifier into the drain.

With the steam humidifier, it is very efficient in using the water inside, practically 100% of the water used. But to achieve the generating of steam, the humidifier requires a direct electricity source to operate. AireOne Technical Advisors can go through both options with you.

So the choice is yours efficiency with water but with the use of electricity or lesser efficient use of water but no additional use of electricity. Which savings would you like to have, direct energy savings or natural gas savings?

Humidifiers are opposite of De-humidifiers. Humidifiers add moisture into the air of your home while De-humidifiers take moisture out of the air. More so Humidifiers are used in cold dry weather, whereas De-humidifiers are used during the warm summer months full of moisture.

Making this choice has many variables but with the help of an AireOne Technical Advisor, the choice can be very simple.
