My Review:

Elio is a super cute family movie! It starts out a little slow, but once it gets going, it doesn't stop. There are some adorable characters in this animated film. There's a few lessons to be learned in this movie too! One of my favorites, "Never judge a book by it's cover." The story of Elio is about him losing his parents and having to live with his aunt. His aunt doesn't quite understand Elio and doesn't have a lot of time to spend with him because she works a lot. Elio is full of adventure and sweet, heartfelt moments that might make you tear up.

Lilo and Stich Movie Review! #LiliAndStitch

My Review:

I thought that this was a cute movie! It's similar, but yet, different than the original animated film, but it's really good. There were a few parts that I missed seeing from the animated film, but this live action version was worth taking the time to watch and it was overall a good family movie.

THE SHORT GAME!

In theaters Today, August 29th, 2025!!!

My Review:

After a three minute and ten second movie intro, the movie finally starts. I'm not used to long movie intros since most movies have short ones, if any at all these days.

Two teenagers, Tommy and Jeremy are practicing and talking about golf. Jeremy Avery, has a younger brother Ethan is autistic and knows a lot of information about trees, drawing, and golf too!

Ethan has been watching golf shows and studying his brother's golf games for years. Ethan tells his brother which way to aim when Jeremy is getting ready to hit the ball into the hole. Jeremy ignores what Ethan says and doesn't make it into the hole, but Jeremy's friend Tommy listens to Ethan, and hits the ball straight into the hole. Jeremy goes golfing alone and take Ethan with him, and he finally starts realizing just what a genius his brother Ethan is!

Jeremy has a state competition golf tournament and takes Ethan with him as his caddy. Jeremy is playing with another teen, Bruce Bennett. Bruce and his dad file complaints against Ethan, but....I'll let you watch the movie to see what happens as a result. I wouldn't want to give away the rest of the movie. It's about an hour and a half long, which is perfect time for telling this amazing story of never giving up your dreams.

Synopsis:

Jeremy Avery is vying for a college golf scholarship awarded to the winner of the State Championship, but his preparation and game are affected by family pressures and having to take care of his younger autistic brother, Ethan. These challenges, along with the pressure of carrying his team to State against an opponent who will do anything to win, leads Jeremy on a journey of discovery both internal and of his brother’s savant-like gifts, that if embraced can create an unstoppable pair. On the brink of his greatest victory, Jeremy is forced to make a life-altering decision, finally realizing his own personal dreams or standing by his brother.

2025 Christmas Gift Guide and More!

I've been receiving emails about creating another Christmas Gift Guide. I not only want to this year, but I also want to get back to basics on our giving. Most of us can't afford hardly anything right now. Most of us are living paycheck to paycheck, or worse. Gifts aren't about how much money we spend on others. Gifts are from the heart and can be homemade, baked, cooked, crocheted, knitted, sewed, built, etc. We need to go back to that. We need to go Christmas Caroling, give baked goods to our friends, neighbors and families. We need to use what Christmas stuff we already have and not go out and buy more.

Our cats keep chewing up the wires on our Christmas tree lights. But I'm not going to go out and buy more. I'm going to find out how I can either put the wires back together with some electrical tape and get them working again with some wire strippers, or, we will put on a string of lights that in no way match the others that are on our tree. It is what it is, but we will use that tree for as long as we can.

Here's to rebuilding my blog, starting a new Christmas Gift Guide, and to another great Christmas without all of this consumerism.

Merry Little Batman, the animated family action-adventure film featuring Bruce Wayne/Batman and his son Damian, will be available to purchase on Digital on November 15 and to rent on November 26.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation and DC, the action-packed DC animated family film is directed by Mike Roth from a screenplay by Morgan Evans & Jase Ricci and a story by Evans & Roth, based on the characters created by DC. The film is produced by Rebecca Palatnik. Sam Register and Mike Roth serve as executive producers.

Christie claimed that this novel was the hardest for her to write. It became her best-selling novel and the best-selling mystery of all time, with more than 100 million copies sold. Most critics and fans consider it her masterpiece. An unknown host lures 10 strangers to an island off the coast of Devon, and the deteriorating quality of their meals heightens the tension. At first, the food and drink provide goodwill, but after two guests die, meals decline in sustenance and goodwill. (“Eight little Soldier Boys travelling in Devon; / One said he’d stay there, and then there were seven.”)

By the time half of the guests have died, the survivors meet in the kitchen and eat from tins, standing up. Boiled potatoes lie exactly halfway between comfort food and bare bones.

Use whole potatoes of the same size so they cook evenly.

1 pound (450 grams) small potatoes

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

½ teaspoon sea salt

1. In a large pot over medium heat, add the potatoes and cover them with cold water by 1 inch (2.5 centimeters).

2. Add half the salt and bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, until tender, about 8–15 minutes. If too much water boils off, add a little more.

3. After 8 minutes, poke the potatoes with a skewer. When it moves easily through the center, they’re done.

4. Drain the potatoes and place in a serving bowl.

5. Drizzle the potatoes with the melted butter, season with the remaining salt, toss gently, and serve.

In the chronologically final novel to feature both Poirot and Mrs. Oliver, Christie revisits her feelings about literary luncheons. Mrs. Oliver always declines invitations to them: “What a mistake for an author to emerge from her secret fastness,” said the fictitious crime writer in Mrs. McGinty’s Dead. But this time Mrs. Oliver does go, enjoying the speakers, her luncheon companion, and the food very much—especially these French meringues.

4 large eggs, room temperature

1 pinch fine salt

1 cup (200 grams) superfine (caster) sugar

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C).

2. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.

3. Carefully separate the egg whites from the yolks.

4. With a stand mixer fitted with a medium bowl and a whisk attachment, whisk together the egg whites and salt on medium-high speed until soft peaks form.

5. Gradually add the sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, while continuing to whisk. Continue until all the sugar has dissolved.

6. Add in the vanilla extract and whisk on high for 3–5 more minutes, until the mixture stiffens.

7. Spoon a heaping tablespoon of the meringue mixture on the lined baking sheets. Repeat with the rest of the mixture.

8. Decrease the heat to 200°F (90°C) and bake the meringues for 1 hour 30 minutes.

9. Turn the oven off and leave the meringues inside it overnight, or at least 8 hours, to cool completely.

10. Store them in an airtight tin for up to 1 week.

All coffee beans, whether they’re destined to be light, medium, or dark roasted, start out green. The heat of the roasting process causes them to dry out, change color, and develop their coffee-like character. The longer the roast, the darker they become.

Master coffee roasters are part artisans/part scientists, and their tools are time and temperature. They carefully monitor the roasting process to determine the exact moment each batch reaches the desired character.

Light Roast: You’ll sometimes see monikers like Blonde, Light City, or Cinnamon Roasts, and they’re all part of the Light Roast family. If you enjoy a mellow flavor with bright, slightly fruity overtones, Light Roast is for you. Try Steeped’s Sunrise Blend, with lovely notes of lemon-lime, cocoa nibs, and toffee.

You may be surprised to know that light roasts have more caffeine and higher acidity than their darker bean brethren. That’s because the longer the roast, the more caffeine and acid is released from the bean. Medium Roast: The best choice for those who love a balanced, smooth cup of coffee, Medium Roast beans are roasted at about 410°F – 428°F. Look for labels like Breakfast or American Roast. These coffees are a little deeper, darker, and sweeter than light roasts. My Review and Thoughts:

We love all of the Indiana Jones movies! This last one was for sure, the final one with Harrison Ford. The ending is really cool! If you like the previous Indiana Jones movies, you'll like this one too! My fifteen year old son and eleven year old daughter wanted to watch the previous five Indiana Jones movies now! My Review and Thoughts:

I wasn't quite sure that I was going to like this remake. To be honest, it was okay. If I hadn't already seen the animated version, that I probably wouldn't have judged it so much. I wasn't fond of Flounder or Sebastion. As they played much larger roles in the animated version then in this one. They also took out a few scenes, and of course, entered some new ones. The acting is alright, could have been way better for a Disney movie. I still say that the Live Action Beauty and the Beast was the best one by far! Check out "The Little Mermaid" Trailer below.

My Review:

My three children and I saw "Elemental" in the movie theater a few weeks ago. We all really enjoyed it. My children are now fifteen, fourteen, and eleven! They still enjoy going to Disney movies and so do I! Elemental was one of the most adorable love stories that I've seen from them in a long time. It's a cute movie with to me, no subliminal messages.

Even if there was suspected to be some racial things in it, I sure as heck didn't notice them! I read in another article online, that "This movie offers a solid foundation to delve into topics of xenophobia, accessibility, and inclusion." I never saw them. As this movie is about an immigrant family moving to a town that wasn't so friendly to them in the beginning. But eventually, they opened up a shop and other Fire elements move into the community around them. The kids don't even realize that hearing "elements don't mix," is an issue for adults. As the issue becomes a non-issue at the end of the movie. So it's a Good thing!

Rooted in DC’s acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series and released theatrically on Christmas Day 1993, Batman: Mask of the Phantasm has not only been ranked by Time magazine as one of the 10 best Super Hero movies ever, but is also arguably the core fans’ all-time favorite Batman film. The movie has been rated at the top of the Dark Knight film franchise by such popular entertainment media as Empire, Screenrant and Paste. And in the ultimate mainstream salute for its time, Gene Siskel & Robert Ebert didn’t initially review the film during its theatrical release, but later dedicated a portion of their At The Movies weekly TV series to pay compliment to the film – and voice their regret for not giving it the attention it deserved during its original run – when Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was distributed for home entertainment.

The 4K HDR/SDR remaster of Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was sourced from the 1993 Original Cut Camera Negative and was scanned at 4K resolution. Digital restoration was applied to the 4K scans to remove dirt, scratches and additional anomalies, but special care was given to not touch the film grain or the animation cel dirt that was part of the original artwork. This is the first time since its theatrical release that it is presented in its 1.85 aspect ratio. The original 2.0 mix and the 5.1 tracks were remastered to remove or improve defects such as pops, ticks, dropouts and distortion.

The animated film features an all-star cast headed by the quintessential voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy, alongside Dana Delany (Desperate Housewives, China Beach) as Bruce Wayne’s love interest, Andrea Beaumont, Mark Hamill (Star Wars franchise) as the Joker, Stacy Keach (Nebraska, Prison Break, Mike Hammer) as Phantasm/Carl Beaumont, Abe Vigoda (Barney Miller, The Godfather) as Salvatore Valestra, Efrem Zimbalist Jr. (The F.B.I.) as Alfred, Hart Bochner (Die Hard) as Arthur Reeves, Bob Hastings (McHale’s Navy, The Poseidon Adventure) as Commissioner Gordon, Robert Costanzo (Forget Paris, City Slickers) as Detective Bullock, Dick Miller (Gremlins, The Terminator) as Chuckie Sol, and John P. Ryan (The Right Stuff) as Buzz Bronski. Mischievous foster teen Noah (Ethan Drew) finds himself in trouble again. After one such petty crime and crossing paths with two foes, he chooses summer camp over juvenile hall. Upon arrival, Noah quickly comes to realize the camp's notorious owner, Falco (Christopher Lloyd) and his dog Lazaraus ironically loathe children. The double whammy takes a turn as Jake (Corbin Bleu), an optimistic camp leader, lifts Noah’s pessimistic attitude. The friendship snowballs for the good as Noah opens up to fellow campers and together they bond in all the fun and memorable ways camp offers. When all seems well, the “bad guys” show up at camp in search of Noah to take back what he stole. Together, Noah and his fellow campers band together to construct a funhouse hideout in the woods, packed with booby traps, zip lines, and bees. In a “change of heart,” cold-hearted Falco warms to the campers, and steps in to help; and together they all learn a valuable lesson of sticking together.

I am going to start posting on my blog again and checking my LOW Entry Giveaway Form. I promise! Otherwise, I'm going to lose my sponsors, like Disney and Warner Bros., and I'd rather not do that.

I haven't posted in so long, ya'll don't know that I bought my own house! I'm a single mom, and I bought a house for me and my three children. My kids are now 15, 14, and 11! They will be in 10th, 9th, and 6th grade. They are growing big and healthy, so far, so good.

We now have two dogs, two cats, and two hamsters.

Living in our own home has made money tighter, but we had to do what was best for us in the long run. Even if it means we are living on cheap breakfast foods and looking for every discounted deal and meals, that we can find! McDonald's has FREE French Fries on Friday, on the app. AND Krispy Kreme Donuts is selling a dozen original glazed donuts for just 86 cents with the purchase of a regular-priced dozen donuts on Friday, July 14th! Every little bit helps.

Walt Disney Animation Studios today announced that Mickey & Minnie 10 Classic Shorts – Volume 1 will soon be available to audiences to enjoy at home. This new collection gathers together ten classic animated shorts for the first time, including the iconic “Steamboat Willie,” and features all-new introductions from Mickey and Minnie for each short.

This release is part of the planned releases coming in 2023 to celebrate Disney's 100th anniversary.

It will be available to purchase on Blu-ray and DVD from February 7.

Film Synopsis:

Celebrate 100 magical years of Disney with this collectible compilation of animated shorts! Mickey and Minnie share their memories in new introductions to these 10 wonderful stories, which have entertained generations of children and adults alike. Included is the iconic "Steamboat Willie," the first cartoon with synchronized sound, in which the character of Mickey Mouse was first introduced as a deckhand on a riverboat commanded by the tyrannical Captain Pete.
