It seems that some local government officials around the country still ‘get it’ when it comes to understanding the FUN that Airsoft brings! Maybe we should all move to the City Of Milpitas, CA… they seem to have some ‘clever’ peeps living there…

+++++++++++++++++++

During what appeared to be a routine action to revise legal language in City of Milpitas’ ordinance governing the public’s use of now-prohibited air guns, some on the Milpitas City Council said a change may be needed in the overall city law.

On June 21, Milpitas City Attorney Mike Ogaz told the council that the city’s BB gun and air gun ordinance, established decades ago, initially covered the sale, possession and ownership of BB guns and air guns.

He said state law took over two-thirds of the city ordinance’s prohibitions and needs to be revised.

“The possession and sale of BB guns is now regulated by the state and it preempts local ordinances,” Ogaz said. “So the only thing left to us to regulate is the use and so our current ordinance regulates the use.”

Councilman Armando Gomez said that BB guns — including Airsoft guns and similar imitation firearms often found with orange-tipped muzzles — should not be banned.

“You guys are taking all of the fun out of being a kid,” Gomez said.

+++++++++++++++++++

What with California Senate Bill SB 798 still LURKING ominously it’s freakin’ awesome to see a government dude seeing & talking SENSE!

Well I don’t know about you but Flood sure loves both – whether it be jumping 6 inches off the sofa during a good zombie scare-flick, laughing my a** off at a scene from ‘Zombieland’ or gathering a body count whilst playing COD in ‘Zombie mode’!

Well did ya know you can combine a fetish for Airsoft with an unhealthy hatred for Zombies? NO? Well a fellow airsoft blogger known as MilSimJunkie has this to share:

|| I was invited to a private event hosted by Black Scorpion Squad (B.S.S) at CQB City to join in on their Zombie Survival scenario. Now I have participated in a zombie scernario before and I thought this would be a great opportunity to show you the viewers the game from my perspective. If you havent played any type of zombie scenario before consider this a first hand look into the gametypes. Its a fast paced game that keeps you on your toes at any moment. Below is a brief description of what was played in the video below.

Gametype: Zombie Survival

Premise: Missing recipes (x2) for a Zombie antidote are scattered throughout the city. A search team (survivors) are sent in to recover the precious cargo. Extraction is set time, players are to survive until extraction vehicle arrives.

Rules: Zombies cannot talk, use lights nor use (airsoft) weapons. Melee weapons OK. Once tagged by zombie a player immediately becomes infected. Once hit zombies stand in place for 10 seconds otherwise they can run away. All players are asked to keep shots friendly (i.e., no deliberate head shots).

There’s more of MilSimJunkie’s blog here at: MilsimJunkie Goes Zombie ||

Hey Flood here again.

I think it’s awesome that there are peeps out there in airsofting-land who are putting time & effort into dreaming up new & fun scenarios for Airsoft. So for those of you who want to ‘double-tap’ your very own Zombie – now’s your chance.

What if Clint had said… “This is a 50. Desert Eagle, the most powerful handgun in the world… You’ve got to ask yourself one question, Do I feel lucky?…do ya think if he had it would’ve been as memorable of a movie quote as it is?

Given the fact that the real Desert Eagle is now the most powerful handgun in the world it makes sense that Callahan would be toting the big DE if he still worked his San Francisco beat. If he’d had the chance he would not have been the only movie character to swing the big cannon that is the 50 Cal DE Action Express around on the silver screen.

My personal favorites:

Agent Smith, Neo’s notorious nemesis…

Mr. K invented the AK-47 way back n the day as a cheap solution for an assault rifle that actually WORKED in the the big deep freeze that was (is) the Soviet winter however nowadays they have become a fashion accessory for every self-respecting terrorist getting 5 minutes on YouTube…

Mostly they are just bloody good fun to have in an Airsoft fire-fight. Check out the KALASHNIKOV AK47 PREMIUM AEG BLOWBACK in the store.

…ask what you can do for your Airsoft Gun.

Well it went something like that as I remember it. Putting aside my plagiarization of the venerable JFK the bottom line is you already invest a bunch of money on your ‘toys’ (did I say the ‘toy’ word – shame on me) – I mean your equipment so why not follow up that investment up with a suitable amount of effort invested in maintaining them.

Do I really need to wax lyrical about WHY you should maintain your guns? I’ll assume not but suffice to say they WILL last a WHOLE lot longer, perform BETTER and look NEWER than any of the guns all those other lazy dudes running around on your local skirmish field are carrying.

To help you in your maintenance and cleaning regime I’m going to point you in the direction of Chad Boone of Mantis Airsoft and his helpful video on the subject. Go and see what Chad has to say about How to Repair an Airsoft Gun.

A lot of gamers who have played the Call Of Duty series have been introduced to a whole slew of both historic and modern weaponry as the blockbuster, multi-platform video game franchise has developed through it’s now, six seperate releases over as many years.

Well the guys over at Gameolosophy have put together a really great article that discusses the guns of CoD’s fourth iteration and what the ‘real-life’ airsoft guns the story and game play utilize are and look like. It’s a great read with a dabble of history, performance facts and anecdotes thrown in and has inspired us here at AGR to do something similar in the near future. However don’t miss their awesome post… Cool Guns From Call of Duty Four in Real Life

Dad, I have pondered the subject of purchasing an airsoft gun, and I have come to a conclusion of my final decision. I will invest in a high quality sniper rifle, because of it’s supreme power over a common spring pistol, and it’s ability to accuratley aim at targets
set at a far distance. Pistols can not deliver that same quality and power that sniper rifles can achieve.

The rifle I plan to buy has a high power, precise accuracy and several accesories included that are required to give consistent accuracy and improve aim. It has a muzzle velocity of 450 to 500 feet per second, a range of roughly 75 yards and it is wieghted properly to provide the most amount of realism. Please note that a spring powered
pistol’s statistics are much lower with an average muzzle velocity of 160 feet per second and an average range of less than 100 feet.

I would also like to point out that this particular Airsoft model has a very high costomer rating with 5 stars out of 40 reviews.

Many costomers like the power and range of the gun and they enjoy using it for that reason. The website I plan to buy it from has a video review of the gun that basically says it has very effective power and range, but it laques asthetic components found on the real weapon that it is modeled after. I think that the gun looks great, and for my purposes, it is a very awesome gun that excells in the areas I require it to do well in.

This gun is adequetly priced at 115 dollars but it doesn’t include the necassry accesories such as the bipod or scope. Those will cost an extra 50 dollars plus a 10 dollar pack of airsoft ammunition.
That brings my total up to 175 dollars plus shipping fees. It will probably cost another 10 to 15 dollars in shipping fees to mail the gun making the total cost roughly 185 dollars.

I am using my own money to purchase this gun and therefore you can not limit my spending. It is a violation of my rights as a citizen to do that. It is MY money so I can spend it however I want. I hope you take into consideration my suggestions and I advise you that I will not change my mind no matter how persuasive your argument is. It is my right to own this gun and I ask that you pursue that fact.
