does anyone know where I can get a replica of Logan's sword made. I think that would make an awesome kickstarter reward.

rewriting ch3 sc3

2011-11-20T06:15:00.001-08:00

No matter how many times I go over it, I cannot get scene 3 in chapter 3 to flow right with the rest of the chapter. I have decided to trash the scene and rewrite it. Best way to go IMO.

ASoD final draft in the works

2011-11-15T06:38:00.001-08:00

I am working on my final draft of A Symphony of Darkness. It's been a long time since I wrote my first draft when I was fifteen. I am being pushed hard by a certain somebody (looks at his wife) and I can't wait to get this manuscript into peoples hands.

Just testing...

2011-10-20T07:04:00.000-07:00

... out the new layout. seems neat. People can come in a view my blog however they feel like viewing it. Pretty cool.
What do you think?

self or traditional #publishing

2011-10-15T07:49:00.002-07:00

For one that has never been published, with the way things are now-a-days, which is better?
I have researched a good deal and now know a bit about what it would take to self publish and it sounds doable but rather expensive without a fan base would you say? Traditional publishing sounds better but then again, what chances do I truly have of actually getting signed? This is just me throwing my thoughts out there however if anyone wants to comment, please do. Here, twitter or traditional facebook is fine.

The Witch and the Ranger private review

2011-09-22T06:24:00.000-07:00

Yes yes I know, I need to focus on ASoD, but, I had The Witch and the Ranger reviewed by some friends and it was well liked so that is good news for me that I have something worth working on after ASoD is out the door. It is an exciting time for me.

New home and new drive

2011-09-20T09:11:00.000-07:00

Realized I didn't follow up about my moving to a new house. The move went well. Rushed and burned my vacation doing it but hey, I am home.
My drive to get ASoD finished has been renewed with the support from more and more people that I meet. I reflect back on how many people there have been through out the years that have been supporting me and wishing me success. All the demands for copies when it done.
I will not let things stand in my way any longer. It's time to get over myself and finish what I've started.
Thank you all.

Cover art in the works

2011-09-13T12:28:00.000-07:00

A new website is on the way plus I have commissioned a couple of fine artists to make the cover for my book. w00t!

Working on final draft

2011-08-18T08:40:00.000-07:00

Yes, I am working on the final draft of ASoD. I am also in the process of packing and moving to my new house.w00t.

What have I been up to?

2011-05-25T06:52:00.000-07:00

Good question. I have been working on different projects. ASoD is still in the works but I and also working on two (might up being three) different projects. One is called "The Witch and the Ranger" and the other is "Thunder and Lightning". I don't want to get too far into the books but you can read a little more on my facebook page.

I live

2011-02-22T10:41:00.000-08:00

Yes I am still here. I am still working as I have been for well over ten years on my books.
It has been hard work and a lot of trial and error updating my writings to todays standards.
a lot has changed since I wrote this when I was around 16 or so.
I have so much to write, so much content to put to paper I am just finally going to do it and get it out to my fans. Gamer fans will be delighted to know that a pen and paper rpg is also in the works with pc and mobile game adaptations to follow.
So, looks like I had better get to it.

Moving ASoD in a new direction

2010-01-14T09:00:00.000-08:00

Indeed, I am changing the Symphony of Darkness Universe in a whole new direction. What does this mean for you as the reader? That depends on if you even notice the changes. For myself though it seams like a natural choice as I blends the events together much fluidly. I can't wait to run with this.
More on this as I begin to understand the implications of the future of ASoD myself. For now, just know that you'll more than likely not even notice =)

Credit where credit is due

I want to thank everyone who has helped me out with this book, those to whom I force to read my works.
I want to thank my good friend from Belgium, Dennis who speaks and writes better proper English than I do. So well in fact, he was my first volunteer copy editor, helping me with my speling and such :) His encouragement got me through some tough times. Thanks bud!

A Symphony of Darkness

2009-12-11T06:41:00.000-08:00

Hi, I am AJ Bentley and I created the "A Symphony of Darkness" universe. After great demand from my friends and family (especially my wife, she can be tough!), I have finally decided to release ASoD - Act 1 "Prelude to Destruction" to the world. I'll be honest though, I'm scared ****less about the whole thing and what people will think about my work.

About ASoD:
"A Symphony of Darkness" was a short story I wrote when I was sixteen. I have worked on it off and on through out the years. It has been both a pleasure and a serious pain.
"A Symphony of Darkness" is a fantasy story based in modern times. It is a world similar to ours but vastly different all the same.
The story centers about a young man named Logan Youngblood and his closest friends who are the only family he has. Logan struggles with the death of his older brother as well as the darker feelings within himself that seem to be taking over his heart. When an old enemy rises anew, the spiritual battle within his heart and soul rages to new heights. Which ever side within him takes over will decide the fate of the world.
