Almost two years ago saw the birth of my daughter Ava-Ilesha, my priorities was simple, spend as much time with my little girl and wife. So as you noticed, the posts became less frequent, but I still wanted to share. Now almost two years later two other major events are about to happen: the birth of our second daughter in August, and from April 1st I will be heading up the retail department at one of the worlds most game-changing brands, citizenM Hotels.

So that’s it. Nothing complicated. But will I stop sharing? Nah! You can still follow my daily travels and goings on via my INSTAGRAM, I will drop a blog post or two via CITIZENMAG, and I will share all my projects via AJANAKU.COM as of April 1st! International entrepreneur Yossi Eliyahoo (also MOMO Restaurant, Bar & Lounge and The Butcher) is the inspiring brain behind this innovative Asian Kitchen & Bar. Traditional techniques are combined with their own innovative signature, with spectacular dishes as a result. Executive Chef Hariprasad Shetty, known from the Michelin star restaurant ‘Nobu’ in London, is responsible for the composition of the qualitative menu.

IZAKAYA is best translated as ‘pub’, a cornerstone of the Japanese food culture. The concept is authentic but not traditional. After officially launching Jimmie Martin Ltd in 2004, the designer duo immediately won the award for “Best New Designer in Practice” at the Design and Decoration Awards in 2005. The English press praised them as “Rule Breakers” and “Risk Takers’ in the field of interior design, for their extravagant Louis XlV designs, which are a mix of antique French with a touch of punk and rock ‘n’ roll. They are also known for designing the legendary golden throne for the spectacular performance of Madonna during the Super Bowl in 2012.

In addition to celebrity clients such as Kelly Osbourne, Jamie Oliver and Kylie Minogue, companies such as Selfridges, Liberty London and the St. Martins Hotels frequently display the “one-off” designs of the duo. The hand painted furniture will be available in limited edition at the Urban Art House Gallery Store.

Aisek is a Rotterdam based young lady, who started her first dj’ing session less than two years ago. Her first experience with this element of hip hop, was actually a scratch lesson at the hiphophuis in Rotterdam. Ever since, her love for dj’ing has grown, which made her develop her own style; hip hop and R&B, with a mix of electronic future sounds, she flawlessly mixes into a great jam.

El Cercle’s chef Sergi Pelaó offers three different sorts of food to reflect the layout, with traditional Catalan cuisine, a high-end Japanese menu, and traditional tapas and platillos available. The interior pays plenty of respect to the building’s storied past which remains visible in unrestored sections of plasterwork, coupled with oil paintings and classical statuary. It seems a shame to neglect the lovely interior, but we’d head for a table in the the sun-dappled fourth area, El Jardí, to make the most of the pleasant Barcelona weather and indulge in a spot of people-watching.
