As many of you know I recently located back to the USA, my stomping grounds.

To celebrate this move I have made this commemorative zine. Many images inspired by the move and all that comes with assimilating back into the USA culture from my previous 4.5 years in the UK.

Sticks is an amazing blog with outstanding and original content from a wide array of bloggers. Super high-quality.

Rob Loeber currently heads up html emails in the EU for Urban Outfitters. Great graphic designer with a keen eye for design and fashion. Great man, watch this one, he is going to blow up, son.

S&S just did a redesign and it is lookin' pretty darn snazzy about now. Get over there and read some great stuff.

I have a feeling this will be pretty much preaching to the choir, but I have to make sure you all know about this.

This American Life is one of the best, if not the best, radio show/podcasts I have ever heard. It is incredibly high standard.

Basically they take a theme and do two or three acts on that theme. They do research and tell unusual stories that are absolutely fascinating.

Some will make you laugh some will make you cry. And you know me, that counts as great art.

Who I am - What I do

Something that fascinates me is confusion. I sometimes take for granted that people understand me, what I do, and what I am trying to say. However, more often than not I find that things are way more confusing and complex than I realize.

I thought I would just be frank and put this out here. Kind of my manifesto, what I do, what I am trying to do and where other people come in.

I am trying to make beautiful and smart artwork. Sometimes it looks like illustration, sometimes design, sometimes animation and so on and so forth.

I am obsessed with art and making it. I want to do as much art as I can, the most amount of time as I can.

I always want to keep pushing myself to be better at what I do, to create better, smarter, more beautiful artwork.

I want to create artwork that spans all moods and facets of life. Happy and sad. My favorite art spans all emotions and themes in life (Sufjan Stevens to Wes Anderson). This is where I want to be. Skulls to happy faces. All of it.

I am extremely passionate about my work. I want to dive deeper and deeper into my personal voice and develop my designer mind. I watch and listen to lectures day in and day out. I am constantly looking for inspiration and doodling into my sketchbook.

I want to work with all kinds of different clients. I want to do new projects, things I haven't done.

I am very serious about what I do, and I know I have a long road ahead to do these things and to become a great artist. But I am trying to stick to the journey.

Just finished this book recently. I was a big fan of Blue Like Jazz and I love Don's other work too but to be frank I think this might be his best.

BLJ came just at the right time for me, but I have grown a lot now. What really was amazing about this was it wasn't just a book of good thoughts and ideas, it was about actually living them.

I can in all honesty say that whoever you are, this book is probably relevant to you. It's one of the most inspiring works I have ever read. To give you a quick overview it's basically just about how and why to live a more worthwhile and meaningful life, and how a meaningful life is a lot like a great story.

Give it a read, I doubt you will be disappointed and I would bet you would be better off for it, I can honestly say I am.

Coloring For Haiti

The Indie Rock Coloring Book fully colored by me auctioned on E-bay for charity!

Coloring one of the books and auctioning it for Haiti was actually my wife's idea! When we heard about the earthquake in haiti it really moved us and we started coming up with ideas between us of how we could do our bit. I have put lots of time and effort into the coloring. It has been rewarding to finally color one of my books, and it felt even better to do it for a great reason. I'm sure you agree that this disaster in Haiti has been eye opening and truly heartbreaking. It is such an awful tragedy. I really encourage you to make a bid on this coloring book, and if you don't win I hope you will donate to the cause anyway.
