So as we are approaching Halloween I decided to get out all my spooky Espionage Cosmetics nail wraps and set out the ones I want to wear for the next few weekends, and these are the ones I picked out for this weekend. Yes, I know that technically these aren't spooky, but hear me out: Cthulhu.

Yes, I know these are purple tentacles, not green. I don't know about you but every time I see tentacles, I immediately think of Cthulhu, so I am going to just keep pretending.

Man, I hope they make some Cthulhu wraps in this style in the future, that would be so cute, or honestly, I would be happy with any Cthulhu nail wraps. But anyway, these Tentacles wraps are glossy, glitter wraps with tentacles going over them. The glitter is super sparkly and the colour of the glitter is really, really pretty.

And look at these little tentacle details, so cute. but also scary?! If I say it enough will you start to believe it? Ok, no, I didn't think so but I am still going to imagine these in a Lovecraftian story.

3 New Glow in the Dark Flakie Toppers from Wikkid Polish and The Gothic Collection Swatches

You have no idea how much anxiety I have had over this post. I am so late in putting it up and the longer it was, the worse my anxiety got, I just felt like I was letting Sarah (Wikkid Polish) down and my brain didn't like that! Especially because this collection is so amazing and I was so freaking excited about it. Honestly, my brain just isn't in a great place right now!

But forget that and lets take a look at these amazing beauties. These 3 new flakie, glow in the dark toppers are meant to be paired with the already existing beauties from the Gothic Collection. I'm going to go in alphabetical order today, as that's how they're supposed to be paired, so I will have the new flakie, then the new flakie over it's paired polish and then the paired polish swatched on it's own. I have made that sound really complicated but I'm pretty sure you'll get the gist after the first lot.

Beguiled

This beauty is Beguiled. Beguiled is a clear base with ultra chrome chameleon flakies that shift through turquoise, pink and bronze and it has a scattered holo.

Beguiled glows a stunning cobalt blue.

This stunning polish, although made for Brienne, will look amazing over pretty much any polish.

I absolutely love these two together, so beautiful! Photos show one coat of Beguiled over 2 coats of Brienne and a coat of Seche Vite to finish.

Brienne

Brienne is a black base with bronze and teal metallic flecks and it is proper giving me Portal vibes, anyone else?

Enchantment

Enchantment is a clear base with ultra chome chameleon flakies that shift through gold, green, copper and pink, and it has a scattered holo.

Enchantment glows a gorgeous turquoise shade.

Feronia

Feronia is a black base polish with green metallic flecks that really take over when worn on it it's own, giving your mani a beautiful night forest look.

Seduction

Seduction is probably my favourite of the new GITD flakie toppers! It is a clear base with ultra chrome chameleon flakies that shift through cyan, magenta, gold and green and it has a scattered holo.

Seduction glows a ghostly, bright blue.

And of course, just like the others, it looks stunning when paired up with it's dark counterpart.

Vespera

Vespera is a black base with bright blue metallic flecks.

The formula of every single one of these polishes is absolutely gorgeous, it glides on the nail and for the flakie topcoat, the glitter and flakies gives no problems with placement at all. You can also build these toppers up if you are after a super sparkly look but I recommend pairing them with either their matching polishes or with other dark polishes for the perfect look.

4 Kiki London Gel Polishes Swatches

I have used Kiki London's No-Wipe Gel Topcoat and loved it. It's so easy and quick to use and does the job so well. When they offered me 2 free polishes when I purchased my first ever colour polishes, I jumped at the opportunity to try out some more of their beautiful gels. It has taken me way too long to get round to giving these a go (like most things at the moment) but Cindy has recently been enjoying a few of these and getting some good wear out of them.

Kiki London are vegan-friendly and cruelty free, with no products or ingredients deriving from, or ever tested on, animals.
The first 2 polishes are the 2 that I purchased, and the second 2 are the ones that I was kindly gifted.

Disco Blue

Disco Blue is a stunning jelly, packed with micro and hex glitters. Photos show 3 thin coats and a coat of their No-Wipe topcoat.

I really didn't capture just how sparkly this polish is. I believe this polish is from last years holiday collection and with how glittery it is, I can see why.

Green Tinsle

Green Tinsle is a gorgeous emerald green jelly, packed with micro and hex glitters. Photos show 2 coats with a coat of their No-Wipe topcoat.

This is another stunning and sparkly polish, which again I believe is from last years holiday collection. It's the perfect colour for Christmas nails and if you need a durable Christmassy mani, I highly recommend this polish as your base.

Galaxy

Galaxy is a beautiful navy/purpley base packed with purple holo micro glitters. Photos show 3 coats with a coat of their No-Wipe topcoat.

This is definitely my favourite of the 4 of them. It is so pretty and sparkly and is perfect for any time of the year and any event. I love it.

Pretty Girl

This polish arrived with no labels on but with some amazing detective work (not really!) I think I sussed that the polish is called Pretty Girl, and it definitely is just that.

Pretty Girl is a shimmery purpley blue to pink thermal with a turquoise shimmer. I definitely haven't captured the shimmer in this beauty very well.

So yeah, I'm a massive fan of Kiki London's polishes. They are absolutely stunning and have a fantastic formula, and the prices are really good too, with some polishes currently at as low as £3.99. Go check them out.

Espionage Cosmetics Supreme Being

I finally have the perfect colour hair to do the photo I wanted to with these awesome Supreme Being nail wraps from Espionage Cosmetics. Don't know if you can tell, but it's a bit windy today.

Excuse the redness of my skin, I have no idea why it's doing that. But at least the wraps look perfect.

The Supreme Being nail wraps debuted in the August 2018 Space Odyssey Nail Mail Monthly and I have been waiting for the perfect time to use them. Knowing full well it has been a few weeks since I did nail wraps and I now have the perfect Leeloo coloured hair (which I am loving btw) it felt like now was the time to wear these pretties.

The wraps are glossy and feature the symbols for the earth, air, fire and water from the stones, with a yellowy, sandy colour base. They also have super pretty foil accents on the other wraps.

And obviously they glow in the dark, super bright too, I didn't even need to charge mine before taking this photo. These are absolutely perfect, from a lover of The Fifth Element movie.

Barry M A/W19 Boots Limited Editions

Again, I am super late posting these but hopefully not too late. Today I am showing you the Boot Limited Edition Nail Paints from Barry M. So let's have a closer look.

Carriage Awaits

Carriage Awaits is a really pretty soft, pearlised pink with a golden shimmer. Photo shows 3 coats with no topcoat.

It's a little sheer so does need 3 coats to be this opaque and on longer nails like mine, it could use that extra coat. But the formula is lush and builds up nicely, and doesn't feel too thick with those extra coats on. It dries really fast and to a glossy finish.

Kingdom Come

Kingdom Come is an absolutely stunning bright pink with a purple shimmer. Photo shows 2 coats with no topcoat.

On shorter nails, you could maybe even get away with just one coat of this gorgeous polish. It has a fab formula and applies beautifully. It dries quickly and to a glossy finish.

Barry M A/W19 Superdrug Limited Editions

I definitely could have gotten this post up sooner than this but I am honestly so disorganised and am struggling to get back on top of the mountain of stuff I have left to do, thanks to my down time in the Summer but I am getting there, slowly but surely and hopefully (fingers crossed) everyone is being pretty understanding.

But following on from the two gorgeous collections released by Barry M (Crystal Rock and Green Origin), today I have these two gorgeous Superdrug limited edition Nail Paints. Let's take a close look.

Cosmic Dust

Cosmic Dust is a beautiful, sheer, silvery white with a pink shimmer.

This is 3 coats and you can still see my nail line but it is very buildable, dries quickly and to a glossy finish. It's easy to clean up and easy to remove.

Here I have added one coat of Cosmic Dust over black to my middle finger, and one coat over white to my ring finger.

As you can see, it becomes a completely different polish over black and the pink shifty shimmer really stands out. Absolutely stunning!

Milky Way

When Milky Way is first applied to the nail on it's own, it looks like a beautiful brown with green shimmer and it makes me think of fizzy pop.

Again, it is a sheer polish and the photo shows it with 3 coats and no topcoat. It builds up nicely, dries quickly, and is easy to clean up and remove.

And just like Cosmic Dust, Milky Way completely transforms when used on top of another colour. Over white the brown really stands out.

But over black is my favourite, the green shimmer takes over and becomes a beautiful, shifty polish.

The shift in Milky Way is lush and makes it my favourite of the 2, and I would definitely wear it both ways.

Dystopia Nail Polish Samhain collection

If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, then last week you'll have seen me sharing the stunning Samhain collection from Dystopia Nail Polish. Well, this collection is now available to buy over on the Dystopia Nail Polish shop. But today I am just showing off these beautiful polishes again and telling you about how they apply, clean up, remove, you know, the usual!
Cerridwen the Crone

Inspired by the Cerridwen, the mythical Celtic goddess, this polish is a grey polish with blue/green multichrome flakes. It is perfect in 2 coats and dries fast to a glossy finish. It cleans up really easily but removal can be a slight pain because of the flakies, not full blown glitter pain though. Photos show 2 coats with a coat of Seche Vite.

In paganism the goddess is often represented as the "triple goddess", transitioning throughout the year between Maiden, Mother and Crone. The goddess is said to be in Crone form at Samhain. Cerridwen is a popular representation of the Crone.

Fires at Midnight

Inspired by the fires that were traditionally, and in some areas still are, burned on Samhain, Fires at Midnight is a gorgeous orange holo with what I think is a pink shimmer to give it a shifty quality in certain lighting.

It applies like a dream, is perfect in 2 coats, cleans up really easily and removes no problem. It dries fast and to a semi matte finish. Adding a topcoat really brings out the holo. Photos show 2 coats with a coat of Seche Vite.

Let the Guising begin

Inspired by the tradition of guising, which involved dressing up in costume (i.e. disguising yourself) and travelling from house to house singing songs or telling jokes in exchange for a "treat", Let the Guising Begin is a chocolate brown magnetic polish with a beautiful golden and pinkish shimmer.

Guising is the origin of what we now call Trick or Treating.

It applies beautifully and looks great with 3 coats, although longer nails may require a fourth as you can still see my nail line when the light shines under it. It dries quickly and to a semi matte finish, is easy to clean up and easy to remove. As with all normal polish magnetics (as opposed to gel) you have to hold the magnet over the second coat for quite a while, and I recommend holding it over the topcoat in the same place for a while. The magnetic line may lose it's definition slightly with the magnetics particles spreading out a bit while drying, this is normal.

Midnight's Mirror

Inspired by the tradition of divination (trying to gain knowledge of the future using tools such as tarot cards), Midnight's Mirror is a blue/pink/purple multichrome. This is my favourite from the whole collection. it is so shifty and has beautiful flashes of colour.

Since the veil between world is considered thin at Samhain this was/is a popular time for practising divination.

This is perfect in 3 coats and applies beautifully, although you could get away with applying one coat of black polish. It dries fast and to a glossy finish, is easy to clean up and easy to remove. Will go amazingly with everything. Photo shows 3 coats with a coat of Seche Vite.

The Veil is Lifted

Inspired by the belief that at Samhain the veil between this world and the "spirit world" is thin. This means we are more likely to be visited by our lost loved ones at this time, The Veil is Lifted is a lush purple with a very subtle pink shimmer.

I used 3 coats here, which would be perfect if you have short nails, but as I had longer nails it could have done with a fourth or it would be great one coat over black polish. It dries fast and has a lovely thin formula so builds up nicely. It dries to a glossy finish. Photos show 3 coats with a coat of Seche Vite.

Turn of the Wheel

Inspired by the pagan "wheel of the year" which comprises of eight celebrations based on seasonal changes, Turn of the Wheel is a grey to teal thermal with holo and black glitter.

Samhain is considered one of the most important pagan celebrations and is essentially the pagan new year.

This is perfect in 3 coats, as the grey is slightly patchy at 2 but the formula is fantastic and it builds up nicely. It dries quickly to a glossy finish, is easy to clean up and easy to remove. Photos show 3 coats with a coat of Seche Vite.

Born Pretty Store Texture L001 Stamping Plate

You know how stressful it can be when you are ill and can't get stuff done? Yeah, well it turns out it's just as stressful, if not more, when you get better and try to catch up on everything but you're in a perpetual state of behind and even though you're doing stuff it still seems like you'r climbing a never-ending mountain! That's kind of what I'm going through right now. So. Much. Stuff!

Today I am showing you one of those stuffs, the Born Pretty Store Texture L001 stamping plate.

The Texture plate has 7 full size nail images, one large image and 11 smaller images. It is etched really nicely and stamped well each time and from each image. This would be a great plate for doing marble nails.

So of course, the first nail art I did with it was what I am now calling "budget rose quartz" nails. It didn't quite look how imagined it would.

But honestly, I'm not mad because it still looks really pretty.

For this nail art I used a few coats of OPI Be Magentale With Me and stamped using Moyou White Knight for the stamping. Then I added another coat of Be Magentale With Me.

My second nail art turned out really good and I absolutely love it.

I started with a base of Barry M Cotton, then I stamped using Barry M Frosted Cupcake Earl Grey for a very light image, and I stamped over it with Barry M Chai to get a marble effect.

Then I went in with the smaller images and Barry M Razzle Dazzle from the Liquid Chrome range. I saw a phone case not long ago that looked very similar and I was trying to nail that look. I'm pretty happy with how close I got, the end result is awesome.

I topped both looks with Seche Vite as usual.

Mani X Me Monthly Express Kit- Hocus Pocus

So, this month's theme for the Maniology Mani X Me box was Hocus Pocus and I honestly think that this is their best one yet. I was so excited for it to arrive and basically knew what mani I wanted to do with these plates straight away. With the theme Hocus Pocus, you probably have already worked out that what will be on the plates.

yes, it's all witchy things and these plates are so awesome. I have seen some absolutely beautiful mani's using this month's kit. This plate is MXM015 and it has 10 full nail images and 8 smaller images. Most of these are perfect for both regular stamping and reverse stamping.

This is MXM016 and it is made up of mostly smaller images. It has one large image, about twice the size of a full nail image and then it has 37 small images. There is a good mix of regular and reverse stampers but they are all so cute, it really was hard to narrow it down for one mani. Although I will likely use these plates a few more times during the spooky season and maybe even other times.

Both the full kit and the Express Kit also had a nail art brush in it. This brush is the #106 brush and has a handle filled with little gems, it's so pretty.

And it has a tip that is perfect for nail art and reverse stamping. It's small enough to fill in all the little details in an image.

For my Witch Please mani I started with a base of the new Barry M Night Sky from the Green Origin range [gifted] and topped it with Level up Lacquer Dark Matter, I keep forgetting how pretty that polish is and I urge you to check out some of Level Up Lacquer's polishes if you can.

I then stamped my images using Moyou White Knight and Black Knight and started filling in the images on my middle nails and thumb.

Barry M Green Origin Collection

Another completely new release from Barry M is the Green Origin collections, which you have probably already seen in store by now. The Green Origin Nail Paints are 70% natural origin polishes. They are made of a new, environmentally sensitive, low chemical formulation that is made with natural ingredients like corn, potato and wheat and they have a high gloss finish. These polishes are also vegan and cruelty free.

There are 8 polishes in this collection and one basecoat/topcoat. So let's take a look at them.
Down to Earth

Down to Earth is a beautiful nude colour that will suit lots of skin tones and look great with any outfit.

Mushroom

Mushroom has the perfect name to match it's shade, a gorgeous mushroom brown. Perfect for this season.

Butterscotch

Butterscotch is a lovely, dark mustard colour. I'll admit, that in the bottle this colour looked sort of poopy to me, but I quickly changed my mind. On the nail this colour is gorgeous and is a perfect autumnal colour.

Boysenberry

Boysenberry is a bright magenta shade.

Red Sea

Red Sea is a lush, blood red. This colour will be great for Halloween nail art.

Rock Pool

Rock Pool is a dark teal shade.

Night Sky

Night Sky is a royal blue on the edge of being a navy.

Evergreen

Evergreen is an almost black, dark green.

All of these polishes are perfect in 2 coats, although Boysenberry and Rock Pool could easily pass as one coaters. They are very pigmented and the formula is fantastic. I honestly didn't know what to expect in terms of the formula but they very much surpassed whatever my expectations were. The polishes are a dream to apply, they dry pretty quickly and to a high gloss finish. All of the above swatches are 2 coats with no topcoat. That's right, that shine is all their own.

When it comes to the colours in this collection, although they are all gorgeous, I am a little disappointed in the colour choices. I think they could have included loads more unique colours to go along with the unique formula but I am excited to see what colours they bring to the collection in the future. I did experience some staining with Night Sky and I expect some of the other polishes could too because they are so pigmented, so make sure to have a good few coats of the basecoat on when wearing these polishes.

The basecoat & topcoat is pretty good too. In this photo, the two nails on the left are topcoated, so you can see that even though the Nail Paints are high gloss, the topcoat does still add some extra shiny to them. I haven't tried it as a basecoat but will definitely in the future.

All in all, I am excited to see where this collection goes and if they decide to use the same formula on their other ranges in the future. Once again, Barry M are leading in the high street polishes and for a fantastic price.

Barry M Crystal Rock Collection

In the last few weeks Barry M have been absolutely killing it with their new releases, and I am so stoked to have been sent their new polishes to swatch. I honestly should have put these up last week when they released but I've been having flares again due to the heat and a bit of lurg which caused a little domino effect, but I'm feeling better again now, yay.

So today I am going to show you the absolutely gorgeous Crystal Rock collection from the new releases. The Crystal Rock collection is made up of 7 polishes all with a glitter texture finish. I have no idea how to even convey to you how excited I have been about this collection. I have wanted Barry M to bring out more polishes ever since they released their original glitter texture polishes in 2014 and these new polishes absolutely exceeded my expectations.

These polishes have a very fine texture, close to that of the Zoya Pixie Dusts and sparkle amazingly even without topcoat. All swatches are 2 coats, with no topcoat. This is a picture heavy post.

White Moonstone

White Moonstone is a beautiful white with a silvery shimmer. This polish will be perfect for Christmas/Snow nails.

Tiger Eye

Tiger Eye is a bronze polish with a golden shimmer.

Coral Sandstone

Coral Sandstone is a stunning, bright orange with a golden shimmer.

Pink Tourmaline

Pink Tourmaline is a magenta shade with a golden shimmer.

Red Jasper

Red Jasper is a darker red that has gold and pink shimmer.

Fluorite

Fluorite is a teal shade with a blue and green shimmer.

Purple Agate

Purple Agate is a deep, dark purple shade with a pink and gold shimmer.

All of these polishes have a fantastic formula, with all of them being 2 coats to perfection and easy to apply. Because of the shimmers, these all have a very shifty appearance and if you aren't fond of the texture, you can always add a topcoat and they super sparkly. They dry quickly and the texture starts appearing almost immediately. I experienced no staining even though the colours are pretty pigmented. And when it comes to removal, these are pretty tough to remove as with all glitter polishes.

Honestly, it's so hard to choose a favourite from this collection because they are all stunning and I really hope to see new shades coming to this range in the near future.

Dance Legend Spot it! White- Fluid Nails

I very nearly didn't post these because the neon clearly freaked my camera out and made my skin a weird colour that I just cannot correct, I got so frustrated but they came out so pretty I had to post them. Ignore the weird skin colour and just concentrate on the pretty nails.

I bought Dance Legend Spot it! White and Spot it! Black months ago from Hypnotic Polish, and I have been having trouble perfecting the technique for it, but I asked @iamdeliasnails for tips because her fluid nails are always amazing and that's when I managed this mani.

To get it so it sort of did something and created cells I poured out some of my regular polishes on to my nail art mat, then I sort of squiggle poured the Spot It! and then pressed the corner of the mat onto the polish puddle. Pressing the mat onto it seemed to sort of activate the polish and cells started to form.

I've been trying to calm my Thanatophobia, which has been pretty heavy these last couple of weeks, probably just from normal adult stresses, illness stresses and random stuff. So to try and step away from it I have been thinking about the Universe. How big and mysterious it is and how insignificant I am in the grand scheme of things. Weird that this helps, trust me, I know, but it really does.

I listened to the Stephen Hawking audio book "Brief Answer to the Big Questions" and loved it, it made me feel both intelligent and incredibly stupid at the same time. But it helped. And I could honestly listen to it all over again. I am so glad I signed up to Audible and can't wait to get my next book credit this month.

Anyway, while cleaning my desk I found a packet of some old but awesome temporary tattoos that Jordandene used to send out with their shirts and I decided that I wanted to wear The Truth is Out There and these gorgeous Eagle Nebula nail wraps from Espionage Cosmetics, this weekend. The tattoos are still good and if i ever stopped being a complete wimp and ever considered getting a permanent tattoo, these might be right up my street.

These wraps are glossy and I added a coat of Wikkid Polish Space Dust because I believe that every space mani deserves some sparkle.

These glow in the dark too with some spacey spatters and the glow is pretty strong. If I move my hand in front of them right now, even though it is daylight, I can see the glow super well, just in the shadow of my hand.

Look at the beautiful level of detail in this wrap! I also bought some cheap macro lens filters for my camera because I don't see myself ever affording the £160-£200 for a proper macro lens but I am quite chuffed with how well these work.

Where all my alien believers out there? I 100% believe in aliens! I believe that we would be completely naive to think that we are the only intelligent life in the Universe and there could be many, many potential reasons why they have not visited Earth yet. Or at least, why we do not know of them yet. I am however, unsure if intelligent life managed to travel to Earth, that they would be consumed with bum probes and memory wipes, it wouldn't be on the top of my list if I discovered a new life form on a different planet, just saying. Although, I do enjoy watching TV shows about 'abductions' and conspiracy theories. What is your opinion?

Beauty Big Bang XL-066 Stamping Plate

Life always finds a way to get in your way, doesn't it? Thought I was on a roll but this week has just flown by and I haven't managed to get posts up.

So here is a beautiful stamping plate from Beauty Big Bang.

The BBBXL-066 has 17 different images, all of varying size, all that can be used for reverse and regular stamping and all that you can take parts of to build your mani.

The plate was etched very nicely and had no imperfections.

I went with neons for this mani because although I am happy to finally be in September and have cooler weather, I am still not really ready to swap out the neons for darker colours. Also, how cute is that little gem image? I used the smoosh method for my base here and they were super bright in real life.

Nicole Diary 088 stamping plate from Born Pretty

Phew, last week was a hectic week working on something pretty big, which you'll see about mid September, but it was tough to get it done and didn't really leave me much time for anything else other than being cranky and tired.

But for today, I am going to show you this cute Nicole Diary plate that I received from Born Pretty.

First of all I noticed the leaf and wanted to go for an Autumnal themed nail art, especially since are in September, finally, when we are officially allowed to show our excitement for Autumn and Halloween. And the weather is so much more on my side at this time of year.

It was also an excuse to use and mattify KBShimmer You Autumn Know.

This plate has 34 small images and 18 thin tip images, mostly with the theme of flowers & Autumn. With one that looks like little fart clouds bahahaha.

The plate is etched very well and as long as I used a stamping polish, I got great pickup.

Milk Bath Nails

Have you seen the Milk Bath trend floating around lately? All the nails I have seen with this on have looked absolutely beautiful, so I wanted to give it a go.

As soon as I saw these dried flowers on Charlie's Nail Art, I jumped on them because they are perfect for Milk Bath nails. As always, they arrived super quick so I could get to work on my first attempt.

I grabbed my OPI Don't Touch My Tutu and got to work. I thought it would be easy, I was sort of right and sort of wrong. I applied 2 coats of it to each nail then I started adding the flowers.

Knowing when to stop is a bonus, I do not, so my first nail, the one with the purple flowers, didn't turn out that great, then I moved on to my middle nails with the red flowers and this one turned out beautiful. And finally I moved on to my thumb, which is my favourite nail from the whole mani.

I finished off by making the other nails opaque enough for my liking and topping with a coat of Seche Vite.

As long as you can quickly work out how many flowers, and how many coats of polish is needed, then you'll be able to pull this trend of beautifully. I still had this OPI from the jelly sandwich days and it works great, so if you have a white or whitish polish that worked with that, you can do this for almost no money.

Koldtec Ice Towel

Ok, lets start this post by saying that my photos of this are terrible but I did my best! And this is a fairly long post. Also, I bought this myself, this is not a sponsored post, nor has any of this been gifted.

By now, you may have seen me moaning about the heat, and I have not been as active during the Summer because the heat really knocked me for 6. In the UK, our houses are built to keep the heat in, not out, and we have no air conditioning, just fans that in the heat we've had are pretty ineffective. We just aren't made for or used to this heat and can't cope. That's us Brits in general. Now add Multiple Sclerosis into the mix, with Uhthoff's Phenomenon and it can be, for lack of a better word, shit.

Tomorrow is my official diagnosis anniversary. It's the day, 4 years ago, that I got the results of my lumbar puncture confirming that I did, in fact, have Multiple Sclerosis. I learned from Eliz of The Sparkled Life, that you should reward yourself, even in a tiny way, to help get you through what can often be a fairly depressing part of your year. So when Koldtec put up a fantastic deal at the beginning of the month, I jumped on it.

You've probably seen this on social media somewhere, either because I have spoken about it or because someone else has. I had seen loads of people raving about it, lots of them having MS or other chronic illnesses, and it seemed like a really good product. I desperately wanted one.

The deal was for a Koldtec Ice Towel bundle, with an ice pack bundle and an extra ice strip on top. That meant I got the scarf with 6, yes 6, ice strips. Plus, I got $14 off. How could I not take advantage of it?!

So, what is the Koldtec Ice Towel? The Koldtec Ice Towel is a breathable and lightweight Cool Dri Mesh. It's made from bamboo and it's super soft, moisture wicking, naturally anti-microbial, sustainable and eco-friendly. It has a pocket in that houses the patented FlexIce. The ice strips have a few key ingredients that help keep it cooler for longer, your skin doesn't get wet and the ice pack never comes into contact with your skin. One FlexIce strip should keep you cool for around 60 minutes, depending on ambient air. It's 5 times cooler than a regular wet cooling scarf.

It has a sewn in, elastic loop, to give you hands free cooling, so you can get on with whatever you need to and not have to worry about it falling off.

If it sounds a little bit like a sales pitch, that's because I am super in love with my Koldtec and I definitely know at least a few people that would benefit from it, so yeah, I'm kind of trying to sell it to you.

What do you need to do once you get it?

First things first, you need to soak your FlexIce strips in around an inch of warm water for about 2-3 mins.

Then you need to pat them dry. At this point, you can see that the "ice" sections have puffed up and are now filled with a gel like substance.

Once patted down and completely dry, pop them in your freezer. Yes, I know my freezer is in a complete state, don't worry, it's getting sorted soon.

It should take your strips around the same time as ice cubes to be completely frozen (about 3 hours) but on your first freeze leave them in for around 6 hours or overnight.

Once they are frozen, you can then pop it in your towel and do some activities. Once "melted" or defrosted, just pop it back in the freezer. You won't need to re-soak it for quite a while but if it loses hydration, just pop it back in some warm water for a few minutes.

Right, I apologise for the next few photos, they're pretty rough, you have been warned.

Here I am, at 5:30am, pre "run" attempt (using NHS CouchTo5k) wearing the Koldtec with a FlexIce strip in it. I am using the loop quite tight here so that the ice is pressed against my neck and being as effective as possible, especially since this "running" situation also frustrates me, leading to stress related heat flare as well as the activity induced heat. And a photo of me after the run, where i'm a bit red, but I survived.

I have worn my Koldtec during 3 "runs" and 2 weights workouts and a few times while sitting at my desk doing nails and it is amazing. I haven't got to the point where I can't breathe at all whilst wearing this. It tends Obviously it doesn't solve all the heat related problems but it definitely makes things way easier and I can't even describe to you how good it feels to not instantly overheat and feel sick with every movement.

The Koldtec clearly had a hand in my success today, I managed to complete all the run sections of today's session. Yes, ok, I rest the app back to Week 1, but I am on Day 3 of Week 1 and this is the firs time I have successfully "ran" for all of them. I am super stoked about this teeny tiny progress, because it means I am getting better. Yeah, I'll probably reset the app again for next week and I'll keep doing so until I can run all of the runs of everyday in Week 1, but I'll get there.

While on the run I use the loop, although I am pretty sure I am looping it incorrectly but I'll work it out, but I prefer to just tuck it into my top during weights. It is so comfortable to wear and most of the time I forget about it.

I know my hair is a mess. I would say I am literally a hot mess, but I'd be lying because, right now anyway, I'm not hot. :]

I forgot to mention, the tube it comes with is an insulated travel tube. The double wall keeps your ice strips cool for up to 3 hours. I have 3 strips in it here.

And it also fits your towel, so you can keep it clean and together with your ice strips. And even better, the travel tube is made from an eco-friendly, bonded paper that makes it the perfect, natural insulator.

Born Pretty Summer Series Stamping Polish- AC06 Ariel Mermaid

I know what you're thinking, "the inspiration is right in the name of this polish, and you do a flowery, leafy thingy!" Well, yeah. Although called Ariel Mermaid, this polish is more turquoise leaning than the shade of Ariel's tail, so it didn't feel right. Any true Disney fan would understand. You understand, right? Oh no! Have I made a terrible mistake.
No! I stand by it. This is definitely a flowery, leafy colour. Bahahahaha.

As you may have gathered. Today I have this beautiful turquoise green stamping polish from the Born Pretty Summer Series of stamping polishes. And I have done some flowery, leafy nail art to show you that today.

It has a fantastic formula, that is very pigmented and can be used as a regular polish but does take 2 thin coats to be perfect. It dries quickly and to a slightly glossy finish.

When stamped, it picks up really well and places on to the nail fantastically, even after waiting slightly longer than usual, without losing any of it's details. And when topcoated, it does not smear.

Espionage Cosmetics Archie Gang

I watch a lot of TV! It's one of the "perks" of being chronically ill, it means a lot of downtime with nothing to do, because I'm not capable of doing stuff. Before I got ill, I used to fill my spare time by reading books, but believe it or not, in my downtime these days, even reading a book is super difficult, and I need something to distract me from soul crushing moments of despair, so TV works for me.

Right now, I have gone back to Riverdale on Netflix. I watched season 1 a while ago and enjoyed it but something else distracted me from moving on to season 2 and I just never went back to it. Until now, when I couldn't think of what to watch after my last binge, this was on my list already and was easy to get back into.

So that's why I have decided to wear these absolutely adorable Archie Gang nail wraps from Espionage Cosmetics. Yes, I know I am talking about watching Riverdale on TV and my post title image is of my hand with the Riverdale comic, but I tried to take a photo with my hand in front of Archie's face on TV and...

This was my best bloody one. My photography skills outside of nails are seriously lacking. Definitely a face palm moment.

These wraps were designed by Espionage Cosmetics Featured Artist Jen Taylor who also designed these adorable Best Friends Forever nail wraps I wore a couple of months ago.

The wraps are usually glossy but I added a coat of Barry M Matte topcoat because I like my comic book themed wraps to be like matte pages of comics.

You can't actually really see in my photos, but the yellow wraps have a kind of orange/mustard to bright yellow gradient, it's very subtle but looks gorge in real life. The details on the blue wraps are my favourite, I love the little milkshakes and the little pom poms. No spoilers please, but who is your favourite character from Riverdale and do you prefer their character still in Riverdale or the Archie Comics?

Born Pretty Store Melody Series Stamping Polish- Scenery

I am so happy that the weather is much cooler now. It meas that I can finally be a slightly functioning human again. And I am doing my best to do so, starting with Scenery from Born Pretty Store.

Scenery is a vibrant, spring green stamping polish from the Born Pretty Melody Series and it just screamed HULK to me, so I did some HULK nail art.

Scenery stamps perfectly over light colours, and although not quite as bright over dark colours, it still stamps incredibly well.

Not content with being just a stamping polish, it's fantastic formula also makes it great as a regular, one coater polish, but I do recommend 2 thin coats to get that perfect coverage every time.

It dries fast to a glossy finish. It's easy to clean up and remove and while I didn't notice any signs of staining, I do recommend a good few coats of basecoat just in case if wearing it as a regular polish, because of how pigmented the polish is.

Primark PS Mermaid Magic Nail Polishes in Coral and Aquamarine

I have no idea if Primark even still sell these polishes, I bought them a while ago and they have been sat on my desk, waiting to be swatched, and I just got round to it. These are honestly my very first Primark polishes and I definitely think I picked the right ones to start with.

Both polishes are sheer, jelly like polishes with a shimmer. Both looked great with 2 coats although still had visible nail line so if you want it to be more opaque a third coat would be best. All photos are 2 coats with no topcoat.
Coral

Although called Coral, this polish is actually closer to a Barbie pink but has a coral and blue shimmer giving it the slight coral lean.

Aquamarine

Aquamarine is a beautiful light aquamarine shade with a light blue and pink shimmer.

This one is my favourite of the 2 as the shimmer shows through strongest in most lights.

Both polishes have a fantastic formula that applies beautifully, builds up nicely not getting too thick as you go, and they dry quickly. They are easy to clean up and remove. While the do dry to a shiny finish, I would recommend a topcoat to bring out the shimmer and extend the wear of the polishes.

With the shimmer being very fine in these, I wanted to try them over black and white and while they just look more pink and blue over white, over black they turn in to completely different polishes, both becoming shifty gorgeousness. Coral has the best effect giving a linear shift while Aquamarine is more scattered in appearance. The black and white I used are Barry M Black Forest and Barry m Cotton.

I highly recommend these polishes, especially at the steal of a price of £1.50 and I am excited to try some more from their range of polishes.

Espionage Cosmetics Buddy Block

These Portal inspired wraps from the Espionage Cosmetics Nail Mail Monthly have been sat on my desk since they arrived, beckoning me to wear them. Now that the weather has finally cooled down enough for me to even attempt normal humaning, I decided to put them on and they are amazing!!!

First of all, I want to say that the non glitter wraps, the cube ones, are actually the easiest wraps I have ever applied. I am not sure if the Nerd Misfits at Espionage Cosmetics have worked out a new formula for the wraps but this one honestly felt thinner and easier to get perfect than any wraps I have worn previous. Or maybe it's just because I have essentially been existing in sludge for the last few months that they just felt easier because I felt something closer to normal (my normal anyway).

Now lets move on to how the set looks. The glitter wraps are super sparkly, especially once the topcoat goes on, and although not as thin and easy as the cube wraps, they are still very easy to work with. There is 1 more orange glitter wrap for each hand, 2 blues, and 3 cube wraps so you can get a good mix for each hand and can do a completely unique mani.

The companion cube wraps are completely opaque and have nice and bold colours and details. Once applied I haven't had any shrinkage, they were applied about 16 hours ago at time of writing this post. Topcoat I use with wraps is Barry M Plumpy topcoat, which dries quickly and doesn't shrink wraps like a quick dry topcoat would but still give you a shiny, solid mani. I do recommend 2 coats though.

Instead of the Barry M, I added a coat of gel topcoat to Cindy to make them last longer and stop Cindy nails from constantly breaking. For that I used Kiki London High Shine No Wipe Topcoat.

You knew this was coming, but they also glow in the dark, and it is adorable. The cube wraps have teeny tiny, glow in the dark hearts on them. They are pretty bright but remember I charge mine up with a UV torch before I take my glowing photos.

Korres Gel Effect Nail Colour Watermelon and Royal Red

It has taken me way to long to get swatches done for these beautiful Korres polishes, kindly sent over by Sparkle PR. But now that we are having more British Summer like days (rain) I can sort of get things done here and there and wanted to get started with these first.

Korres Gel Effect polishes have a high shine and are durable and long wearing (up to 10 days). They are infused with almond oil, amino acids and pro-vitamin B5 to nourish and strengthen your natural nails as you wear them. They don't require a topcoat to look good but I would recommend them to ensure an extended wear time. They are 10 free and chip resistant too.

All photos are 2 coats with no topcoat. So let's have a look at them.

Watermelon

Watermelon is a lovely amaranth, redish-rose pink. Both polishes have that nice, wide brush to help get great application, right up to the cuticle.

Royal Red

Royal red is a beautiful, bright, post box red.

Both polishes have a gorgeous formula and applied beautifully. They were perfect in 2 coats and were easy to clean up. Although I didn't see or experience any staining, the colours are super rich and I would recommend that you do wear a couple of coats of a good base coat, just in case.

The Gel Effect range from Korres has 18 different shades and a top coat, so plenty to choose from and these are available from Look Fantastic for £8 a bottle.

I also felt in the mood for a little bit of nail art using these colours and one of the stamping plates from my unused pile.

The plate I used is Bundle Monster/Maniology BM-S313. I love the little cassette tape image, it brings all the memories back of the mix tapes I used to use, and hovering over the play and record button on Sunday, trying to get the song recorded with the smallest amount of talking possible, then getting annoyed when the record button stayed up and you missed your opportunity that week, so had to wait until next week's charts to attempt it again.

Yay! I finally did something. Ok, not technically if I'm honest. I did this nail art a little while ago and completely forgot about them, so I'm posting it now. But I had to go through the photos, pick some and colour correct and brighten, so yep, I technically did something today.

Anyway, I have the Geometry L003 stamping plate from Born Pretty to show you.

This plate has 12 full nail images and they are all geometrically inspired. My favourites, as you may be able to tell, are the paper based designs. So I have used the paper planes image and the origami image.

The plate is etched very well and I got great pickup on every go. The patchy black lines on my ring finger paper plane is because I have run out of my trusty Moyou Black Knight and so I have used Barry M Black Forest in its place here, which stamps very well but not perfectly.
