Because of the trending DOT's Tourism Slogan "It's more fun here in the Philippines" in every social networking sites (e.g. Facebook, and once a trending topic worldwide on Twitter), I got inspired with its colorful and festive ambiance as it welcomes every tourists coming here in the Philippines. Now I launched my newest blog theme (well actually, I've been using the old layout for a year) to promote the tourism's slogan to the world. Chos!

First, I just rendered it from the DOT's website, ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines.com which is said to be under construction by now. By using the power of photoshop, I created a magnificent piece of art. I really love the festive color of the background (courtesy of ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines.com). Well, I used the Harabara font for creating text logo to match the DOT's logo slogan. And the rest were modified through CSS, JavaScript and HTML codes.

On the upper right header, there is a moving image promoting the Philippines with ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines.com's link on it that will directly go to the site. This is one way to promote tourism of the country since I got a lot of online visitors coming from United States, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, and Australia.

Same as DOT's concept, I created a slogan that says "It's more fun to be a Student Blogger". Indeed, it's fun and more fun to be a student blogger since I earned a lot of experiences through blogging plus it gained a lot of friends to interact with. It also catches attention to young techies to create and have their blog. It is fun though, trust me! And the rest are just bling-blings. :)

Weekend with Pamangkins

Every child has its special day. Ang tinutukoy ko dito na "child" 'eh ako. Hindi ang mga pamangkin ko. Nyak! Thanks to my pamangkins na ubod ng kakyutan! Ang saya saya pala ng feeling kapag Uncle ka na. :))

Having these special people around ay nakakaalis ng stress sa buhay. Well, parati ngang sinasabi ni Mama na it's better to have them all the time rather than not seeing them sometimes. Because every weekend is family day, parang may birthday lang sa bahay namin. Family gathering, sabay-sabay kung kumain at sabay-sabay naring mag-usap tungkol sa kung ano-ano sa paligid. Refreshing your weekend from bad vibes of weekdays. Ganito kami kasaya. :)

Introducing my pamangkins na may lahing Chinese at hindi ko alam kung ano pa. Basta, malakas ang dugo ng Villanueva sa kanila. I don't know kung ganito rin ako kacute nung bata pa ako. But I'd rather not post my baby picture to avoid comparisons. LOL. "Oo na, mas cute sila. Pero mas GWAPO ako. Oha!" :)

We had this tripping of taking pictures of them kasi mahilig silang magpapicture. Sad to say, ang bata pa nila para maging vain just like their Tito and Tita. Pastime kasi ng mga Pinoy ang pagiging vain. Kahit lowbat na ang cellphone, sinasabihan nila ako ng "Tito, picture! Tito, picture!", sabay posing na ala Korean.

Ang ku kyut talaga ng mga batang ito. I'm so excited for them kapag lumaki na sila. I think one of them would be a professional model for having this good pose (sino kaya sa kanilang tatlo), o ang isa sa kanila could be a manager, doctor, nurse, or whatever. Ang problema nga lang sa pagiging excited ni Tito (ako), 'eh I heard kami ang magpapa-aral sa kanila. Jusko, what a big challenge for Tito 'yan, ah! I hope they could read this post once they're mature enough. Ang drama naman ni Tito! :)

After Dad left us last 2007 (about 3 years), we still feel his presence through these adorable pamangkins. Sayang, hindi niya lang naman nakita ang kanyang mga apo. (T_T) All I can say that, they're such a good blessings for us. Because of them, we are still in tact to one another. We are maintaining our close family ties through helping one another through thick and thin. Whatever happens, babangon at babangon din kami just like any other else. I'm so happy to have them, really. :))

Taking shopping to the next level: SM City General Santos

Truly can't wait to stroll the biggest SM Mall in Mindanao to date this summer!

There are lots of reasons why it changes the shopping experience to the next level:

1. I'll sacrifice my allowance just to eat at Max's Restaurant's Chicken Madness once they'll open a branch in SM City General Santos. Oh, I can't wait!

2. Checking the latest doodle and other artwork designs in Artwork for only 129 pesos! :)

3. Taking good care of my healthy skin via Watsons Your Personal Store, as part of anchor tenants of SM.

4. Taking coffee to the next level by entering Figaro Coffee in SM, hopefully!

5. Taking technology to the next level by upgrading latest technologies of different tech stores by Cyberzone of SM City General Santos!

6. More, more events will be happening once SM will open its biggest mall. Oh la la. :))

How to deal with Plastic People

This is an awkward blog post but since I'm some sort of emo today, I will make some naughty details on how to deal with plastic people.

Fake or plastic people are like everywhere. You can't really imagine that it might be your close friend, friend of friend, or perhaps your girlfriend/boyfriend. Having these people around will add spice on your life. These people (including myself as a plastic one) are having difficult time with their lives, or shall I say having a psychological problem. It is a mild situation where this person might having insecurities, backstabbing disease, or might perhaps having I-don't-know-what-happened-to-them virus. It's kinda viral to have these symptoms.

You can't easily identify plastic people, they are so brilliant in making false statements. Mas magaling pa silang manloko kaysa mga advertisements sa TV. They are considered as brilliant hypnotize-rs. You didn't notice their supernatural powers in backstabbing, kasi iba talaga sila kung magpasira ng tao.

Based on my experience, I got a mild condition where some of my friends are plastics, and I am also part of those group. I tend to make plastic sa kanila, at feel ko naman 'eh nagpapaplastik lang din sila. Sasabay nalang kaming lulutang kapag nasa tubig na kami. I feel so great kapag I backstabbed them with other friends. "Oy, si ganito ganyan, jusko! Napakaplastic (eh nagsalita din!)". Tulad nalang sa eksenang 'to, "Walang hiya talaga tong si ganito. Sinabi niya na ganyan ganito daw! P*nyeta!" ganito kapag nakatalikod. Kung nakaharap naman, "Hello, oy musta kana? Sus, antagal na nating hindi nagkita. Namiss kita tuloy. (Yuck!)" Napakaplastik naman 'tong mga taong ito. Tsk!

Paano mo malalaman na pinaplastik ka lang niya? Based on my experience, I got this horrifying answer when I fixed a date with his (the plastic one) trusted friend and treated him somewhere (e.g. McDonald's) para mag-usap-usap lang. After how many hours, he just spilled the bean. Ayun, nagpapakaplastik lang pala siya (the plastic one). Worth it naman ang ginastos kong pera para lang malaman na pinaplastikan lang niya ako. :))

How to avoid those loud and aggressive plastics? By not noticing them that they're exist. Been doing that until now. Others continue to have fake relationships or making plastics with other people. 'Yun din ang ayaw ko kasi nagpapakaplastic din ako. I have to avoid that condition para hindi ako masanay na maging plastic. I tend to ignore plastic people. Smile, don’t say anything and just walk away. This can be one of the hardest things to do sometimes, I’ve had several such experiences of my own, it wasn’t easy, but it can be done again with practice. The trick is to just “turn off”, cut the line, and not look back when you’ve made your decision (bad or good).

Be real. Be you. Well, practically that statement is too lame to understand. Everyone knows this rule. But sometimes, we are not real to ourselves. Because of insecurities with other people perhaps. Just be you. No matter who you are, or what you do in your life. We are created to be this way. As what Lady Gaga said, "I was born this way", so look at her now. A little drama drag queen.

Always tell the truth. When someone asked you, you should answer him/her honestly. Sometimes getting plastic disease started in this kind of situation. I don't know what would be the reason for this but we need to avoid telling lies.

Not to backbite with other people. You should control your mindset not to backbite any person, thing or animal. They have emotions that can kill you also. So beware of that mindset. Backbiting is like committing a crime, a murder to be exact. Stabbing the victim by using your words.

If you have a big, big, big and major problem regarding plastics, you need to consult a psychiatrist. :))

Plastics are those people having miserable lives. Well indeed, it is true. You’ll feel as if the whole world is out to “get you” each day, and you having to use your mask as a shield to deflect the crap that’s coming at you. Urgh! >.<

So good luck beating those ugly and pesky little plastics. Walang lugar sa mundo ang mga plastic na mga tao. :)

Kids React: K-Pop Edition

K-Pop or Korean Pop dominates the music scene in the world, dubbed as the new waves of pop music. Kahit ako, sasabihin ko ang totoo na minsan akong na-addict sa pakikinig ng K-Pop, most especially 2NE1, Bigbang, 2PM and Girl's Generation. Lahat sila nasa MP3 player ko. Wala ding kawala ang kanilang Music Videos, panay ang hingi ko sa mga kaklase ko just to have their unique and entertaining videos with matching mirror dance.

Thanks to Youtube, a magical place to watch everything from everywhere. Imagine, 2 million people are watching K-Pop videos in Youtube every hour, every minute, everyday! Damn, such a big hit! Knowing those tons of members in a group, plus getting those hard hangul lyrics and their awesome dance steps. Ansakit sa ulo kung tutuusin pero very entertaining naman ang K-Pop. It is now considered as a music genre in Youtube effective this 2012.

Dahil sa phenomenal success of K-Pop sa buong mundo, may mga nag-iintriga parin kung bakit nga ba K-Pop, ano ba 'yang K-Pop. Is it another version of Rebecca Black? Lady Gaga? Better watch this Kids React Video at kayo'y matatawa sa mga bata.

Ang sabi nga nila, "hindi nagsisinungaling ang mga bata". Parang totoo talaga 'yang statement na 'yan. Actually, I have the same reactions with those kids when I first encountered K-Pop (the first one was Nobody Like You by Wonder Girls, but sad to say, they are so so so super sikat all over the world!).

"K-Pop was lame", that was my first impression. "Lame, jerk, everything. They look like the same. Boy groups look gay. They have weird dance signatures. They are trying to embrace people but in fact they're not. I can't understand even a single word coming from their mouth." But now, I'm embracing K-Pop, realizing that my impressions are wrong, very wrong. They are entertaining, more entertaining than the local music (OPM).

After watching the video, I imagined myself as one of those kids criticizing other nation's culture but in fact, Koreans should be proud of what they have, on what entertainment industry they have. They are now globally competitive. It's like AH1N1 virus that spreads rapidly from Asia towards West and reaching USA even though listeners can't understand the language. In the Philippines, K-Pop is part of the music scene. From local TV to their MP3's, from Facebook to Youtube, and from offices even in schools. Unfortunately, K-Pop kills the local music scene of the country, like for instance the Super Junior Mr. Simple album. It was considered as the Album Kings being the first in total album sales, beating up OPM artist. They (Super Junior) became the first ever in music history to rank first on the chart nine consecutive times. (Allkpop.com)

As a Filipino, I will limit myself to patronize foreign music, not like in North Korea where they don't know that other genre of music really exists. I mean, to limit myself on patronizing K-Pop. I'm not like other fanatics that they will sacrifice anything for the love of their idols. They (fanatics) tend to buy souvenir CDs for display, or to buy some posters of their idols just to praise and worship them. Well, I'm not like that. I hope they (fanatics) are not like that. According to a psychiatrist, that's what you called "K-POP FEVER". Lols. :))

MSU SASE 2012: Know your scores

Since my blog contains MSU SASE 2012 Results from previous years, marami na ring nag-a-ask regarding their results for this year (Testing Date September 2011).

To know your SASE Rating, just follow these easy steps. Logon to http://www.msumain.edu.ph/apps/SASE/ and browse the drop down box on the left part of the website then choose "SASE -- September 18, 2011". You can now search for your SASE Rating via Lastname, Firstname or Name of School by clicking those radio buttons after typing the keyword.

Once you find your name on the query, all you have to do is to click your name.

Then download the Report of Rating. This is kinda a crucial step since not everyone has an email account. But instead, all you have to do is to type in the captcha code and hit the Print button. It is only limited to 5 downloads only, so better save a soft copy of it.

There you have it, you can have your Report of Ratings for the MSU SASE 2012. Sad to say, I don't have any idea on how to get all of the scores by sorting it by highest to lowest and by school. Better check out the nearest MSU Campus near you to ask for a copy, if available.

Samoa and Tokelau skipped December 30; change Timezone

I was little bit surprised then I read a news regarding the skipping of time in Samoa and Tokelau (Islands in Pacific Ocean).

Samoa, an Island situated in the Pacific Ocean.

According to BBC News, Samoa decided to shift back west of the date line by skipping Friday 30 December, 119 years after this change was made. This changed the timezone from UTC−11 to UTC+13 (and from UTC−10 to UTC+14 during daylight saving time). The change was made because Australia and New Zealand have increasingly become Samoa's biggest trading partners and homes to a large community of expatriates. Being 21 hours behind made business difficult because having weekends on different days meant only four days of the week were shared workdays.

Tokelau, a territory of New Zealand north of Samoa that previously used UTC−10, also crossed the date line at the same time for the same reasons and now uses UTC+14. American Samoa, however, remains to the east of the date line, and is aligned with the American date. The International Date Line now passes between Samoa and American Samoa.

At least the motif of skipping the time is to boost the economic trading partner of three countries. But, how does it feel when you skipped one day of your life?

A Gift from Korea, Hooray!

Sendong (Washi) Aftermath with Photos

A viral photo spreading over the social networking sites touched my heart about the aftermath of Tropical Storm Sendong in Northern Mindanao. Grabe ang iyak ko dito. ~.~ (Photo by annalyn.net)

The whole country mourns as the death toll rises to 1249 people (and still counting) and hundreds more are missing after Tropical Storm Sendong (International name Washi) ravaged Southern Philippines last December 16. It brought around 400mm of rainfall within 10 hours that caused heavy floods (around 10 meters high) in Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Dumaguete, and some other parts of Southern Visayas and Northern Mindanao. It was unexpected catastrophe that brought Sendong as the world's worst typhoon disaster in 2011.

On the following day, a massive relief operation involving the evacuation of 100,000 people occurred. Approximately 20,000 soldiers were mobilized to assist in recovery efforts and evacuations. The Philippine Coast Guard was dispatched to search for missing people after villages were reported to have been swept out to sea. Sixty people were rescued off the coast of El Salvador, Misamis Oriental and another 120 in the waters near Opol township.

President Benigno Aquino III visited Cagayan de Oro and Iligan on December 20, 2011, and declared a state of national calamity in the affected provinces. The total cost of damages to agriculture and infrastructure is estimated at P999.9 million according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council. The President also appealed to its citizens to help the victims in their way of celebrating Christmas in his Christmas Message.

Overseas humanitarian aid is pouring in for victims of tropical storm Sendong in the Philippines including China, United States, European Union, neighboring countries in South East Asia, Japan, Indonesia, United Nations Council, and among others.

Private organizations and citizens extended their relief efforts to the victims of tropical storm Sendong. Tons of relief goods (foods, clothing, bottled water) were distributed from different organizations and individuals. Shipping and courier companies offered free delivery of goods to Cagayan de Oro and Iligan from anywhere in the Philippines. Netizens also extended their help through donating money via PayPal and other online banking accounts. Giant TV networks held a nationwide telecom and massive media promotion to help the victims of tropical storm Sendong.

The victims of tropical storm Sendong still celebrated the Christmas in evacuation centers. DSWD packed noche buena items for the victims in order for them to celebrate the birth of Christ despite of the calamity happened.

The next speaker really changed the real idea of what is social media in the eyes of a blogger. Opinion makers should have an idea on how to mixed up great thoughts in words or comments since we are free to express ourselves not to harm others. People engaged with social media have also the freedom to learn and to think out of the box and has the capacity to change the current situation of an object. Those are just some highlights that Manuel "Manolo" Quezon III discussed during the Blogfest SOCCSKSARGEN 2.0 with a theme, "The Emergence of Blogs and Social Media".

Social media changes the trend of what is now, compared to the past, wherein there is no Facebook or Twitter to get mingle with people, Youtube to watch missed fave shows in full color or high definition, or even reading news articles via Yahoo!, CNN, GMANews.tv and such rather than reading it in very versatile paper. Because of technology, everything is made to substitute the old practice.

According to the research presented by Quezon, Filipinos are engaged with the use of computers instead of listening to the radio for news and information, crying in front of the TV while watching telenovelas, or even reading comic books and newspapers to kill information. Because computer and internet are somewhat, addictive, we should set up new rules on how to handle our thumbs.

In politics, Social Media has a big role in promoting themselves, I mean promoting their platforms, well it is only for election time purposes, perhaps. Before, politicians spent a lot of mickey mouse money to print out their lame posters and flyers as if people notice it. But now, because of the social media era, politicians are now invading social networking sites to touch people, to have their www[dot]com websites to share their political diaries and projects. It really influences people, says the internet.

EVERYONE USES FACEBOOK. Filipinos has the world's highest Facebook penetration. It means that we tend to open the internet and directly login to our Facebook accounts. Indeed, it's true. Facebook is not for laptops and desktop computers. We can access to Facebook by using smartphones, tablets, or even SMS. That's how powerful social networking is.

FILIPINOS LOVE TO SHARE PICTURES AND VIDEOS. Don't deny it, alright. We love Project 365 or even the next Youtube Sensation. Those are some filipino traits that are widely seen online.

FILIPINOS PREFER TO READ OTHER PEOPLE'S BLOGS THAN TO WRITE THEIR OWN. Yea. Applicable to some bloggers. Even myself fond of reading other people's blogs, just to find inspiration for my new blogpost or to gain idea.

Teens are watching less TV, listening to less radio, reading less books and magazines, doing less sports, less interaction with friends, face-to-face frequently, and spending less money or traditional consumer items. What do you think of the real situation in Mindanao during 90's? What if there's no source of news and information about Mindanao until now? What if, Mindanao has no Bob Martin? What do you think?

This guy, Bob "MindanaoBob" Martin, is actually famous for promoting the Philippines not to his fellowmen in United States but also in the world by his top emerging blogs and websites. He was one of the keynote speakers of this year's BlogFest SOCCSKSARGEN 2.0 with a theme, "The Emergence of Blogs and Social Media".

Martin shared his life before he engaged in blogging especially promoting Mindanao to the world. It was in 1990's when internet was introduced to them. He has no idea about the internet, communicating with other people with the use of e-mail (he said that it took 30 minutes to send an ordinary e-mail to someone, it was as slowest as the dsl line) until he found out that he could do something better with it. He was responsible for posting insights about Mindanao, particularly in General Santos City (2nd for having a website in Mindanao that time, Davao being the 1st) promoting the island on how beautiful, wonderful and lovely the people are. He was also responsible for creating the first website for Mindanao, www.MINDANAO.com

He always come to Mindanao until his family decided to live in General Santos in 2000. After several months, he established his own internet cafe business (one in RD Plaza and second in East Asia Royale Hotel) using a satellite to have a high speed internet connection (well, not that really fast compared to this generation). Until his family decided to move in Davao because of terrorism activities happening in General Santos but it was not a hindrance for him to stop blogging about Mindanao. It was a challenge for him that Mindanao, as an island, is really safe to travel.

Since 1990's, Martin already visited 24 out of 26 provinces in Mindanao, including some of the dangerous places such as Lanao Provinces, Tawi-tawi, Sulu, and ARMM Provinces. Well, it was really dangerous to travel in those places especially if you're a foreigner but Martin find it not that scary or dangerous, at all.

Because blogging is now trending in this generation, Martin encourages young and professional bloggers to keep on blogging positive vibes about Mindanao, interesting facts, foods in order to promote the tourism of the place, and to replace the bad news with these stuffs. Martin started nothing but when he explored Mindanao, everything's changed. He put it on the web, people read his posts, and he influenced people to come to Mindanao to invest, to relax or perhaps, to live. A good example is the www.GENSANTOS.com by Mr. Avel Manansala, where he keeps on promoting General Santos to the world and now, one of the emerging and influential bloggers in the country.

From small gathering of local bloggers to unexpected nationwide popularity: well, that is the BlogFest SOCCSKSARGEN. Hundred bloggers from different parts of the region will merge in the Tuna Capital with a common advocacy of projecting South Central Mindanao in a more positive light through blogging.

The second installment of BlogFest this year is called The BlogFest SOCCSKSARGEN 2.0 (well, that reminds me of a software version which is 2.0) with its theme "The Emergence of Blogs and Social Media". Eight of the most influential personalities in the country will be the speakers of the much-awaited blogging event in the south. (*Exciting!)

LiveinthePhilippines.com's Bob Martin (popularly known as MindanaoBob in cyberspace) is a foreign blogger who loves the county so much, Mindanao in particular. He is responsible for blogging positive lights about Mindanao despite of not-so-good news (terrorism, kidnapping, etc) from print media, television news and internet.

Hon. Darlene Antonino Magnolia-Custodio, or known as the prettiest politician (and I like that tagline!) was was a former representative of the first district of South Cotabato and the current mayor of General Santos City. She is responsible for launching the official websites of the city’s 69 public elementary schools and 26 barangay high schools through her administrations SHEEP-Computer Literacy Program, making GenSan the first in the country to have done so.

Mr. Jack Madrid, is the country manager of Multiply Philippines. Before joining Multiply, he was the Yahoo! Philippines top honcho. (Then perhaps, future CEO for Facebook Philippines, that would be awesome!)

Raffy Tima, is a notable TV News Anchor, Producer and Host of GMA Network and its affiliate GMA News TV. He was one of GMA’s main reporter during the 2000 to 2004 series of kidnapping by the Abu Sayyaf group and the all-out war of the Armed Forces of the Philippines against the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. Manuel Quezon III, more popularly known as Manolo Quezon, is a essayist and blogger. He is currently an Undersecretary of the Presidential Communications Development and Strategic Planning Office (PCDSPO). Prior to being appointed to the undersecretary position, he served as host of The Explainer and The Explainer Dialogues on the ANC cable news channel. He also headed the Speaker’s Bureau, columnist, and editorial writer for The Philippine Daily Inquirer and was the Assistant Managing Editor and an editorial writer for The Philippines Free Press weekly news magazine.

Ayun. Bumalik na rin sa pagbo-blog after 6 months na nagpahinga. I miss posting something sa blog ko which is interesting. And now, may pasabog ako sa inyo!

Veranza @ KCC Mall of Gen San

I heard this rumor about putting up mid-rise condominium, hotel and mall complex ang KCC Mall of Gensan, ang so-called "The Veranza". 'Eh mukhang totoo naman pala siya! This proposed commercial/residential complex will be located at SAFI Lot (just in front of the mall, and actually they owned it for good). May clearing operation na ring nagaganap within that lot though hindi pa rin nakaalis ang RCBC-Safi Branch (perhaps sa December pa ma-eexpire ang kanilang contract).

According to the proposed design which is visible in the arrival area of the airport, it will be operational next year 2012 (perhaps on the 4th quarter).

Another high-end shops, boutiques and restaurants will be in store in the Veranza.

By 2013, Robinsons Land Corporation will start to construct Go Hotels, a franchised hotel by RLC, within the vicinity of Robinsons Place Gensan (perhaps at the back of the mall).

Just watch out for new updates! Exciting! :)

DFAT 2011: Lachi's Sans Rival

Lachi's! Lachi's! Kapag Lachi's, ang maalaala ko lang 'eh Sans Rival Cakes, my fave cakes of all the cakes. I've been crazy and drooling over Goldilocks and Red Ribbon's Sans Rival Cakes. I don't think that they have the same taste. Lachi's still the best! Well, let's explore what Lachi's can offer to their drooling customers. DROOL!

They have this Periodic Table of the Desserts where you can find the highest-lowest calorie content of a dessert plus their funny scientific names. I really had a hard time looking for having the highest calorie content but thanks to Ate Dulce Rose Lara for helping me out. Guess what? I really need to eat lots of lots of Banana Split! Fingers crossed! :)

Damn the fridge is full of cakes! But the bad thing is that, "I DON'T EAT ANY KIND OF DURIAN DELICACIES.", even cakes or candies. Yikes. But according to the Lachi's owners Melvin and Mike Aviles, who are actually twins by the way, Durian Sans Rival is their best selling dessert. Still, I don't have the guts to try that out. :)

NOM NOM NOM. You can't leave the crib without trying their best-est desserts, from tarts to cakes, yummy chocolate and frozen cakes, plus their top-selling Sans Rival Cakes (their specialty). NOM NOM. Tulo laway ever! :)

A day with Abreeza: Mindanao's Premiere Shopping Destination

As I arrived in Davao, the first thing na naisip ko is to check out Abreeza Mall, an Ayala Mall in Davao, which is their first mall in Mindanao. Kahit papano, natupad din ang plano ko.

Here are some snapshots of Abreeza Davao. Nahilo lang ako sa nakita kong bag worth 50,000 PESOS! Haha!

This is their Al Fresco Area, at the back portion of J. P. Laurel Ave.

Hurray! I got my new theme! Thanks to Premium Blogger Themes and of course my patience by fixing and renovating every inch of my new blog template. And of course, my new blog logo! Look at that, so adorable. I don't have any idea why I came up with a cat, which is quite cute and ADORABLE. I purr, therefore I am, "meow"! :)

And because I have this clean, not so messy, ad-free and irritating pop-out adverts, I'll be back as a blogger again, due to super hectic schedules from school that I had last semester. Magbabalik na ngayong April 8, Friday, ang Mediterranean Cuisine na nagpabago sa lasa ng mga Generals. The Old South Mediterranean Cuisine is back with their new twist of flavors, Arabian and European Cuisines na affordable ng lahat!

The Old South Mediterranean Cuisine is not hard to find if you know your way around GenSan. Located at the former house of Atty. Onie Baliao, which he transformed to resemble a Spanish Villa, it can be found inside the Romana Estate II, along the Mabuhay-Klinan Road. Your landmark should be the Iglesia ni Cristo temple on the left shoulder of the Mabuhay-Klinan Road. Just beside the temple is a road sign leading to LC5 Farm and Resort. Sultan Rice! Yay!

I was invited for a food tasting to promote their resto before the soft opening on April 8. Masyadong sossy at classy ang mga pagkain nila. I forgot some of their dishes but I really love their Sultan Rice, it is actually a buttered rice with raisins, cashew nuts and saffron threads. Kinda new to my taste buds. Kahit 'yan lang kakainin mo, ok na! Kumpleto rekados na! Parang may kasama nang ulam ang rice!

I also tried the pita bread with different fillings like Labneh Makbus. It is a soft cheese ball made from yogurt. It is really perfect and ooohhh, parang lumulutang ka sa air kapag natry mo ang super hot hot hot sauce dahil sa sobrang anghang!

Para naman sa akin, perfect match naman ang kanilang Porterhouse steak with white garlic sauce. Somewhat their steak is different from other steaks na natikman ko in different restos. It is actually a large piece, yummy and juicy.

For seafood lovers, Gindara fish is a must! It is one of the best and yummiest fish that I ever tasted. It is so creamy and actually, I doubted if it was really a fish or beef.

Akala ko naman 'eh totoong sigarilyo. I tried their Cigarette Borek. It is a Labneh Makbus wrapped into spring roll sheets and then fried to perfection. Parang cheese sticks but not an ordinary made out of cheese, but it's a soft cheese ball made from yogurt. SOSYAL!

And of course, perhaps their SOON-TO-BE-FAMOUS Hookah, a single or multi-stemmed (often glass-based) instrument for smoking in which the smoke is cooled and filtered by passing through water. It's nicotine-free and way too far from addiction. Uh, but it is really way too near to addiction. HAHAHA. We tried it, one by one! And it taste like cherry. Cherry flavor. And I want to do that Hookah again, and again!

A Thai movie about this ugly duckling turned into a beautiful princess just to get the attention of this hearthrob in school but after the long run, 'eh inlove din pala 'tong lalaking 'to sa bida. Parang unbelievable, unpredictable ang story with twists and turns. Fave resto na rin ata during valentines ang mga resto na nag-ooffer ng eat-all-you-can with serenade, banda at kaliwa't kanang freebies. Meron naman ding discounts sa mga hotels but I don't really get the point of having this discount rates 'eh bata pa ako, ba't ko gusto malaman kung bakit. Haha. Basta ako, I want to skip that Feb 14 date kasi wala akong ka date.

Tip from our Professor: Actually, I was not expecting that she will give this tip for us, sa mga may kadate. Sabi niya, H'wag mong dalhin ang iyong ka-date sa Fast Food. Hindi naman kayo nagmamadaling kumain. Dapat sa fine dining restaurant. Para mahaba-haba ang inyong usapan. Hindi pagkain ang habol niyo sa date, kundi ang mahabang oras ng inyong pagsasama. Sabi pa nga niya,

"Love flies out of the window when your stomach is empty."

Second tip. From Rabsky (ako), thou shall not bring her to a burger stand. That's rude. Mas lalong mabadtrip ang babae sa'yo. At lalong never mo siyang papagastusin. Treat her. :)

Third tip. Take her to the movie house, pero dapat love story ang panonoorin niyo para may sense, not an action movie or horror. Where's the sense of celebrating valentines?

Fouth tip. H'wag umastang parang mag-asawa kayo during date. Hindi pa nga kayo kasal. Take it simple and surely. Treat your girl like a princess not a wife. :)

Fifth. Kung makipagdate ka na man dahil sa pustahan ng kabarkada mo, then don't do it. That's rude. Karamihan sa mga dates ganyan ang cases. Hindi ba kayo naawa sa babae? Mokong.

Sixth. Bring camera to capture every moments. Then thou shall not post it on social networking sites. Just keep it to yourself. Mas dadami ang magseselos niyan kung ipo-post niyo sa internet. At baka gagawa pa yan sila ng gossip tungkol sa date niyo.

Seventh. Don't dare to post your location while dating. Baka susundan ka ng isa mo pang stalker at sirain ang date niyo. Di ba ang pangit?

Eight. Kung may balak man lang kayo makipagdate, magpagwapo naman kayo for good sake. Ayaw nilang mangamoy palengke ka. Special day 'yan, ano ba!

Ninth. Talking about presents. Wala namang kamatayang chocolates and flowers ang ipamimigay mo. Jusko, find another or better present for her. Something that she can relates on it. Malay niyo, ayaw niya ng chocolates or flowers.

Tenth. Kung may balak kayong magharana, then be sure na singer kayo o maganda ang boses niyo. Kasi pagtatawanan ka lang ng kadate mo kapag mas pangit pa sa kabayo ang boses mo! :)
