However, over half those books were still in copyright and authors across the world launched a campaign to stop them, climaxing in a New York courtroom in 2011.

Series on the Palestinian 'catastrophe' of 1948 that led to dispossession and conflict that still endures.

“The Nakba did not begin in 1948. Its origins lie over two centuries ago….”

So begins this four-part series on the ‘nakba’, meaning the ‘catastrophe’, about the history of the Palestinian exodus that led to the first Arab-Israeli war in 1948 and the establishment of the state of Israel.

This sweeping history starts back in 1799 with Napoleon’s attempted advance into Palestine to check British expansion and his appeal to the Jews of the world to reclaim their land in league with France.

The narrative moves through the 19th century and into the 20th century with the British Mandate in Palestine and comes right up to date in the 21st century and the ongoing ‘nakba’ on the ground.

Arab, Israeli and Western intellectuals, historians and eye-witnesses provide the central narrative which is accompanied by archive material and documents, many only recently released for the first time.

For Palestinians, 1948 marks the 'Nakba' or the 'catastrophe', when hundreds of thousands were forced out of their homes.

But for Israelis, the same year marks the creation of their own state.

This series attempts to present an understanding of the events of the past that are still shaping the present.

This story starts in 1799, outside the walls of Acre in Ottoman-controlled Palestine, when an army under Napoleon Bonaparte besieged the city. It was all part of a campaign to defeat the Ottomans and establish a French presence in the region.

In search of allies, Napoleon issued a letter offering Palestine as a homeland to the Jews under French protection. He called on the Jews to ‘rise up’ against what he called their oppressors.

Napoleon’s appeal was widely publicised. But he was ultimately defeated. In Acre today, the only memory of him is a statue atop a hill overlooking the city.

Yet Napoleon’s project for a Jewish homeland in the region under a colonial protectorate did not die, 40 years later, the plan was revived but by the British.

On 19 April 1936, the Palestinians launched a national strike to protest against mass Jewish immigration and what they saw as Britain’s alliance with the Zionist movement.

The British responded with force. During the six months of the strike, over 190 Palestinians were killed and more than 800 wounded.

Wary of popular revolt, Arab leaders advised the Palestinians to end the strike.

Palestinian leaders bowed to pressure from the Arab heads of state and agreed to meet the British Royal Commission of Inquiry headed by Lord Peel.

In its report of July 1937, the Peel Commission recommended the partition of Palestine. Its report drew the frontiers of a Jewish state in one-third of Palestine, and an Arab state in the remaining two-thirds, to be merged with Transjordan.

A corridor of land from Jerusalem to Jaffa would remain under British mandate. The Commission also recommended transferring where necessary Palestinians from the lands allocated to the new Jewish state.

The Commission’s proposals were widely published and provoked heated debate.

As the Palestinian revolt continued, Britain’s response hardened. Between 1936 and 1937, the British killed over 1,000 Palestinians; 37 British military police and 69 Jews also died.

Few Palestinians, if any, could have imagined they were to become victims of what would later be called ‘ethnic cleansing’.

After 30 years of British rule, the question of Palestine was referred to the United Nations, which had become the forum for conflict.

On 29 November 1947, the UN General Assembly met to devise a plan for the partition of Palestine. UN Resolution 181 divided Palestine into an Arab and a Jewish state, with Jerusalem as an internationalised city.

The Jewish state was granted 56 percent of the land; the city of Jaffa was included as an enclave of the Arab state; and the land known today as the Gaza Strip was split from its surrounding agricultural regions.

But making the proposed Arab state all but proved impractical in the eyes of many Palestinians.

When the draft resolution was presented for voting, Arab newspapers ran a ‘name and shame’ list of the countries that voted for the UN partition plan, and Arab protesters took to the streets.

Following the partition resolution, Britain announced it would end its mandate in Palestine on 14 May 1948.

وسائل عمل القتلة الاقتصاديين
وسائل العمل تتضمن تقارير مالية محتالة , وانتخابات مزورة , وتهديدات للابتزاز , ورشاوي مالية , وغواية جنس , وجرائم قتل , إنهم يمارسون لعبة قديمة من زمن الإمبراطوريات ولكن بأبعاد جديدة ورهيبة في زمن العولمة الكونية .

مراحل تنفيذ مهمتهم
يحدد " جون بيركنز " ثلاث مراحل تتبعها الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في سبيل تحقيق أهدافها في السيطرة على الدول الفقيرة وتركيعها .

المرحلة الأولى : القتلة الاقتصاديين مهمتهم إقناع الدول بأخذ قروض دولية ضخمة بفوائد مركبة من البنك الدولي وصندوق النقد الدولي والمؤسسات المالية الدولية والأمريكية لتمويل مشاريع اقتصادية وفقاً لتقارير وتقديرات اقتصادية مبالغ فيها عن معدلات النمو المتوقعة حيث تضخم بشكل متعمد لخداع الدول وإغرائها بقبول تلك القروض , ويتم إغواء السياسيين بمنافع شخصية للموافقة على تلك القروض الضخمة المشروطة بأن تذهب إلى الشركات الأمريكية لإقامة مشاريع للبنية التحتية لاتخدم إلا فئات محدودة وتؤدي لزيادة فقر الكثيرين لأنها تدمر بيئتهم واقتصادهم المحلي وتفقدهم شبكة الرعاية الاجتماعية , وعندما تعجز الدول عن الوفاء بالديون كما هو متوقع ومقصود تصبح تحت الوصاية والسيطرة الأمريكية فتباع الموارد الطبيعية للدولة بأسعار زهيدة , وتحول ميزانيات الخدمات الأساسية كالصحة والتعليم والرعاية الاجتماعية إلى تسديد الديون فتختل الأوضاع الاجتماعية والأمنية ويظهر التمرد والاضطرابات فتكون الفرصة مضاعفة لاحكام القبضة على تلك الدول .

المرحلة الثانية : الواويات وهو الاسم الذي يطلق على الذئاب من رجال الاستخبارات المركزية الذين مهمتهم محاولة القيام بانقلاب أو تصفية الزعيم العنيد الذي يرفض الموافقة على عروض ومقترحات القتلة الاقتصاديين بعد أن قدموا له كافة الإغراءات ومارسوا معه كل الضغوط ومع هذا فشلوا في جعله ينفذ مطالبهم .

المرحلة الثالثة : تحرك الجيش الأمريكي إذا فشلت الواويات " ذئاب الاستخبارات " في مهمتها يتم تحريك الشباب من الرجال والنساء المنخرطين في الجيش الأمريكي للقتال لاحتلال البلد .

من عليه الدور ؟
المهمة مستمرة ولن تتوقف وجاء في اعترافات القاتل الاقتصادي أسماء دول فقيرة مطلوب تركيعها عن طريق إغراقها في الديون مثل مصر وأندونيسيا والاكوادور وبنما , ودول عربية أخرى غنية مطلوب ابتزاز مصادرها الطبيعية مثل السعودية فمن الذي عليه الدور ؟

لاجهاض مخطط القتل الاقتصادي على الدول العربية الغنية استثمار فوائضها المالية في الدول العربية الفقيرة , وعلى الدول العربية الفقيرة محاربة الفساد والبيروقراطية وتوفير بيئة العمل المناسبة لاستثمار أموال الدول العربية الغنية , فقد آن الأوان لتنشيط الاتفاقيات الاقتصادية الموجودة وتوسيع السوق العربية المشتركة فعلياً لتصبح واقعاً ملموساً لا مجرد تصريحات وشعارات فارغة من المضمون الحقيقي للوصول إلى تعاون اقتصادي تمهيداً لوحدة اقتصادية تتيح للأفراد حرية التنقل والعمل والاستثمار وخاصة أن أسس ومقومات الوحدة موجودة بكافة صورها ومنها : وفرة المواد الخام الحيوية والثروات الطبيعية التي لا غنى للعالم عنها لفترة طويلة قادمة , ووحدة التاريخ واللغة والعادات والتقاليد وأكثر من ذلك المعتقدات , وضخامة السوق الاستهلاكية العربية فهي تضم 22 دولة وأكثر من 250 مليون نسمة , وتوافر الخبرات الفنية والبشرية في معظم المجالات الزراعية والصناعية والعلمية .

فإذا لم تستغل الدول العربية قدراتها وإمكانياتها في تكوين تكتل اقتصادي وتجاري قوي فلن يكون باستطاعتها مجابهة التحديات المفروضة عليها من التكتلات الاقتصادية العالمية ولن يكون لها موطأ قدم في زمن العولمة الكونية .

Monster Moves: Abu Simbel temples

How will Egyptian engineers move a wonder of the ancient world before it becomes flooded with water?

Abu Simbel temples are two massive rock temples located in Nubia in Southern Egypt on the western bank of Lake Nasser. The twin temples were originally carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC. However, the complex was relocated in its entirety in the 1960s, on an artificial hill made from a domed structure, high above the Aswan High Dam reservoir.

The relocation of the temples was necessary to avoid them being submerged during the creation of Lake Nasser, the massive artificial water reservoir formed after the building of the Aswan High Dam on the Nile River. Abu Simbel remains one of Egypt's top tourist attractions.

مسلسل فارس بلا جواد - Fares Bela Gawad

فارس بلا جواد: مسلسل تاريخي مصري يدور في حقبة الاحتلال الإنجليزي لمصر من تأليف وبطولة محمد صبحي، تم عرضه لأول مرة في رمضان 2002، وهو من إخراج أحمد بدر الدين، وقام ياسر عبد الرحمن بتلحين الموسيقى التصويرية للمسلسل.
يناقش المسلسل بطريقة كوميدية الصراع العربي الإسرائيلي وتضمن مفارقات كوميديا اهلته للنجاح وهو نسخة متلفزة من كتاب بروتوكولات حكماء صهيون وهو الكتاب الذي اثار جدلا منذ صدوره أول مرة عام 1905. تسبب هذا المسلسل بمشاكل كثيرة حيث تصاعد الجدل حول هذا المسلسل الذي بث على نطاق عربي في ليالي شهر رمضان، وهو عمل أثار حفيظة جماعات يهودية اتهمته بانه معاد للسامية.

قصته
تدور أحداث المسلسل حول حافظ نجيب، الطفل الذي تربى بين عائلة أمه الثرية، وأباه الفقير الضابط بالشرطة، الذي تزوج أمه لأنه نشأ لدى عائلتها منذ صغره، تتحول الأحداث بعد مقتل أبا حافظ الذي يقسم على الانتقام لوالده ولكل من يظلم في بلده، وذلك في عهد الاحتلال الإنجليزي تستمر الأحداث وحافظ يوجه الضربات بعد الأخرى لجيش الاحتلال، ويكشف في أثناء سعيه مصادفة عن المؤامرات التي يعدها اليهود المقيمين في مصر ضد المصريين، وذلك عن طريق اتباع تعليمات كتاب بروتوكولات حكماء صهيون، فثم يحاول منعهم بشتى الطرق....
كما يتعرض المسلسل للعديد من الأحداث التاريخية الشهيرة التي حدثت في تلك الفترة، مثل حادثة دنشواي، وتعذيب المصريين في السجون، وتواطؤ الخيديوي مع الإنجليز، إلخ..

هذا الكتاب هو ثالث خمسة كتب كتبهم الشيخ الغزالى قبل الثورة ثورة 1952 أراد به أن ينقى الأذهان الملوثة من لوثة الشيوعية بمذهبها الاقتصادى والرأسمالية بفوارقها الجائرة ولقد احتار الباحثون وأهل المشورة هل نترك الكتاب كما هو أم نحقق ما تركه الشيخ الغزالى فنحذف ما عدَّل من آراء وأطنب فى أخرى وأوجز فى بعضها ربما لأنه أدرك أن سيئات الإقطاعيين أزكى من حسنات الثوريين وأن الخطيئة عولجت بجريمة ولما كانت قيمة الآراء تكمن فى التوقيت الصعب الذى ظهر فيه الشيخ الغزالى مشهرا رأيه كالسيف المسلول لم يبال بخطورة ما أذاعه ودوى بين الأوساط العلمية ورجالات الفكر والاقتصاد وعلماء الأزهر فقد تركنا متن الكتاب كما هو وليسهل التأريخ لتلك الفترة بمقياس دقيق وليدرك القارئ أن الغزالى لم يكن يقل عن رائدى الفكر الاقتصادى والاجتماعى بل تفوق عليهم جميعا بما مزجه من سعة فى الفقه ومقاصد الشريعة ولم يسبق الشيخ الغزالى أحد من المفكرين إلى تلك الآراء بل تميز بها وحده.

"كل دعوة تحبب الفقر إلى الناس ? أو ترضيهم بالدون من المعيشة ? أو تقنعهم بالهون فى الحياة ? أو تصبرهم على قبول البخس ?والرضا بالدنية ? فهى دعوة فاجرة ? يراد بها التمكين للظلم الاجتماعى ? وإرهاق الجماهيرالكادحة فى خدمة فرد أو أفراد. وهى قبل ذلك كله كذب على الإسلام ? وافتراء على الله."
