advanced technology, but also a systematic way of utilising the technology to improve
student learning (Schofield, 1995).&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class="MsoNormal" style="direction: ltr; line-height: 150%; text-indent: 36pt; unicode-bidi: embed;"&gt;
&lt;span lang="EN-GB"&gt;Research
indicates that In order to achieve meaningful technology integration, learning
must be designed from a constructivist approach that encourages students to
learn in a social context and help them to develop an ability to readily create
new knowledge, solve new problems and employ creativity and critical thinking
(Griest, 1996; Hoffman, 1997; Mergendollar, 1997; Richards, 1998). Spivey
(1997) indicated that constructivists view students as constructive agents and
view knowledge as built instead of passively received by students whose ways of
knowing and understanding influence what is known and understood. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class="MsoNormal" style="direction: ltr; line-height: 150%; text-indent: 36pt; unicode-bidi: embed;"&gt;
&lt;span lang="EN-GB"&gt;In
addition, the interaction between students, the flow of ideas and loud thinking
encourage students to foster active learning, in which users discover and
address gaps in their understanding when explaining concepts to others (Kafai,
Ching &amp;amp; Marshall, 1997; Tyner, 1998). &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class="MsoNormal" style="direction: ltr; line-height: 150%; text-indent: 36pt; unicode-bidi: embed;"&gt;
&lt;span lang="EN-GB"&gt;Constructivist
strategies include collaborative and cooperative learning methods, engaging in
critical and reflective thinking and evaluation through electronic portfolios
(Nanjappa &amp;amp; Grant, 2003). Jonassen and Carr (2000) believe that in order to
help students to construct their knowledge, they should be actively involved in
learning with the help of ICT tools. In addition, Wheatley (1991) argued that
because a student will construct his/her own meaning based on his/her
interpretation, technology can become a vital educational tool depending on the
way it is used in learning. Strommen and Lincoln (1992) believe that it is not
what technology is used, but how the technology is used to be relevant to a constructivist
classroom. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div class="MsoNormal" style="direction: ltr; line-height: 150%; text-indent: 36pt; unicode-bidi: embed;"&gt;
&lt;span lang="EN-GB"&gt;For
example, initial computer’s role in education has been largely viewed through
Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI), which is generally used for low-end tasks
or providing a richer and more exciting learning environment, such as drill and
practice (Office of Technology Assessment, 1995; Duffy &amp;amp; Cunningham, 1996;
Roe, Stoodt &amp;amp; Burns, 1998). However, teachers can use computers, as tools
for accessing information, interpreting and organizing their personal knowledge
and producing and representing what they know to others, to engage students
more and result in more meaningful and transferable knowledge (Jonassen et al.,
1993). &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

and &lt;st1:place w:st="on"&gt;Tay&lt;/st1:place&gt; (2004) classified ICT tools used in the
classroom to improve student learning into four types: 1) informative tools; 2)
situating tools; 3) communicative tools; and 4) constructive tools. Informative
tools are applications that that store and provide vast amount of information
in various formats (e.g., databases, encyclopaedias and web resources). Situating
tools are systems that situate students in an environment where they may
experience the context (e.g., simulations and games). Communicative tools are
systems that facilitate communication between the student and others (e.g.
e-mail and discussion boards). &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

tools are general-purpose ICT tools that can be used for manipulating
information, constructing student's own knowledge or produce a certain tangible

found the most frequently used constructive tools by students for their
presentations and special curriculum-based projects (Lim and Tay 2004). Multimedia

يقدم الموقع برنامج كمبيوتر و شبكة تفاعلية لتسجيل و تبادل عروض الفيديو التقديمية، و ذلك لمساعدة المعلمين و الطلاب و أصحاب المهن من المتخصصين في كافة المجالات علي تسجيل و رفع و تبادل عروضهم بطريقةمبتكرة. يقوم برنامج تسجيل العروض بدمج عدة وسائط صوتية و مرئية بطريقة متزامنة، من بينها عروض البوربوينت المعدة مسبقاً، صورة و صوت مقدم العرض، لوحة الكتابة، و لوحة الرسومات التوضيحية، و كذلك محتوى متصفح الإنترنت. يساعد الموقع المعلمين و مقدمي العروض علي دمج المشاهد عن طريق متصفح الشرائح، و التعليقات، و المناقشات، مع إمكانية غير محدودة لرفع و مشاهدة عروض الفيديو.&lt;/div&gt;

تم إنشاء الموقع في بداياته كشبكة غير ربحية لمساعدة المعلمين و مقدمي العروض في العالم العربي علي تطوير و إثراء محتوى الفيديو الرقمي العربي، ضمن مشروع بحثي تم بواسطة مصمم و مدير الموقع. و في غضون أشهر قليلة، لاقى الموقع قبولاً و استخداماً من آلاف المعلمين و الأكاديمين و مقدمي العروض في الدول العربية، و أصبح عدد الزوار أكثر من 10,000 زائر يومياً وما يزيد علي 5,000 مشترك قاموا برفع أكثر من 250 عرض فيديو تقديمي في غضون ثلاثة اشهر فقط، مما تطلب تعميم الخدمة التي يوفرها الموقع و تطويره لتضاف اللغة الإنجليزية كلغة ثانية للموقع.&lt;/div&gt;

يعتقد الكثيرين ان جوجل هي اعظم شيء في التاريخ&amp;nbsp; التكنلوجي ، ولعل هذا الاعتقاد قد تمت بلورته بعد ان ازالت شركة جوجل هيمنة مايكروسوفت على قطاع التكنولوجيا.&lt;/div&gt;

ان هناك من يقول ان شركة مايكروسوفت كان باستطاعتها شراء محرك بحث جوجل ولكنها ابت وذلك قبل عدة سنين. ولكن ما السبب الذي جعل محرك البحث جوجل يتحول الى عملاق كاسر، فكما نرى في الوقت الحالي فان امبراطورية منتجات جوجل توسعت بشكل غير طبيعي في العقد الاخير. ولعل السبب في ذلك سيطرتها وتحالفها مع شركات ليس لها علاقة في جوهر منتجها وهو محرك البحث.&lt;/div&gt;

ولكن بالرغم من ان الشركتين توفران بعض المنتجات التنافسية إلا انهما تختلفان في جوهر المنتجات Core Product، فشركة مايكروسوفت تتميز بنظام تشغيل ويندوز الذي يسيطر على ما قرابته 85% من السوق، بينما تتميز شركة جوجل بالسيطرة على محرك البحث جوجل الذي يسيطر على 81% من سوق محركات البحث وتسيطر ايضا على سوق الحوسبة السحابية.&lt;/div&gt;

One of the first things to do when planning an image collection is to determine what metadata you will need to record. Try to find answers to the following questions:&lt;br /&gt;
• What metadata do my users need or expect? Don’t second-guess this - ask your users what they want. It’s also worth finding out which other collections they use and like.&lt;br /&gt;
• What metadata do I need to manage the collection? You and your colleagues are also ‘users’ of your collection – what additional information will you need to record to help you manage your collection (e.g. location of master images, information about copyright permissions).&lt;br /&gt;
• What are others with similar collections doing? Identify others within your ‘community’ (e.g. subject area, profession) and find out what metadata they’re recording. They are likely to have done some research and learned some lessons from their mistakes! There may also be opportunities for you to share data with them if you adopt similar approaches.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
What metadata do I already have? There is almost always some existing metadata you can use. This might be as simple as hand-written labels on envelopes or as complex as pre-existing databases or MARC cataloguing records within a library system. There might also be some metadata embedded within the digital file that you could make use of. Once you’ve identified your existing metadata, consider how it maps to the needs you identified above and decide what information you can reuse within your collection.&lt;br /&gt;
• What expertise can I call on? Who can contribute to your metadata? Are you going to use experienced cataloguers or subject experts – or both? There may be a need to train your cataloguers in the subject area, or to train your experts in how to catalogue consistently and efficiently. Another approach might be to get experts to provide some information and cataloguers to check it and add more. Bear in mind that the terminology used by cataloguers and experts isn’t always the same as that used and understood by collection users – so consider involving them too if you can, at least in some form of evaluation.&lt;br /&gt;
• How much time/money can I afford to spend on creating metadata? It takes a lot of time to create good quality metadata – typically more time than it takes to create and optimise the associated images. This is especially true if you need check facts or look up large thesauri for appropriate terminology. Your metadata may be constrained by your budget or your need to complete the collection in a hurry.&lt;br /&gt;

applets, and interactive exercises) that are designed to generate and support
learning activities and enrich learners’ experiences (Richards, et al., 2002). &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 11pt;"&gt;Within the last five
years, institutions and academics have developed approaches to facilitate
access to a wide range of learning objects to support teaching across the
curriculum. Suthers (2000) believes that this interest is motivated in large
part by the desire to be able to find and reuse the work of others.
Institutions (such as &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 11pt;"&gt;Institute of Electrical and
Electronics Engineers or IEEE&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 11pt;"&gt;)
have developed standards for learning object packaging. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

objects could be reused in many instructional contexts, much of this investment
is used for specific audiences and remains unknown beyond the immediate
developers and consumers (Richards, et al., 2002). &amp;nbsp;Wiley (2002) indicates that learning objects
are generally deliverable over the Internet, meaning that teachers can access
and use&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span dir="RTL"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span dir="RTL"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span dir="RTL" lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 11pt;"&gt;&lt;span dir="RTL"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span dir="RTL"&gt;&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span lang="EN-GB" style="font-size: 11pt;"&gt;them anywhere and

(2004), it could be argued that a repository, at its core, is only a database
of objects, with import and export interfaces. However, there is a distinction
to be made in LORs between the database (that holds the metadata and objects)
and the tools that are used to interact with this database (by searching,
downloading, importing, etc.). &amp;nbsp;A review of
existing learning object repositories reveals that a repository is essentially
a file storage system that has a form of control over the quality of the files
(learning objects) to classify and store them using metadata, a searchable
database to categorise and locate learning objects, an easy-to-use mechanism
for uploading, updating, retrieving, and exchanging learning objects and an
appropriate technical infrastructure, including software (e.g., database, and
security system) and hardware (e.g., server and telecommunication
capabilities).&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
