Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology allows architects and contractors to create a 3D model of the project that automatically finds and prevents spatial conflicts, reducing errors and change orders. It also leads to better communication amongst architects and contractors, as the 3D models can be accessed onsite or in the office.

Using BIM, Miller Children’s Hospital was able to complete an $86 million addition on schedule. The technology resulted in better communication amongst the hospital, architect and contractor, more deadlines met, fewer change orders and reduced liability.

The school, which encompasses criminal justice and criminology; economics; public management and policy; and, social work, teaches students to design, implement, manage and evaluate policies that address issues of economic and social development on the local, regional, national and global levels.

We are going to demolish about 3,600 square feet to create a beautiful new conference space for the school. The space will include conference rooms and seminar space; workgroup areas; collaborative hubs; communal areas; study carrels; exhibit space; multipurpose room; and catering space.

The students and faculty who use this space will have a great impact on the world, and we are excited to facilitate their education with this conference facility.
