BOTW #1: A BEAUTIFUL MESS

2012-01-06T13:52:00.000-08:00

For my first Blog of The Week Post I have the honor of featuring A Beautiful Mess!

The story of my first dress collection is a post that I found to be really inspiring. Being that I am a junior in college and becoming a “real person” is slowly creeping up on me, I could really relate to Elsie Larson’s dream to create her own dress line. I was really inspired by the fact that she has her own business, Red Velvet and had to make an important decision between her dream to create a dress line and still maintain all her responsibilities with her shop.

Her post goes through the timeline of Elsie’s decision to create her dress line and what steps she went through to make her dream come true!

Check out her post here A Beautiful Mess, and read this great inspiring story!

An Eye for talent...

Reading blogs are one of my favorite things to do. During school breaks I dedicate most of my time to catching up on blogs I already follow or find new ones. It’s kinda like that just woke up Christmas morning excitement when I find a new blog that I like... its the little things that make me happy in life haha.

I started my own blog with really no structure, I’m kinda just a go with the flow kinda person. So today I was looking at one of my favorite blogs A Beautiful Mess and I’ve finally come to the conclusion what the purpose of my blog is. I guess you could call me the PR agent of all blogs that are creative, original, girly, ornate, fashion forward etc (aka just plain awesome). Anyway I finally have a sense of direction that I want to take, and I’m pretty darn excited. Since I’ll be off from school for almost a month I’m going to being doing a lot of snooping and fishing around to find some really great authentic blogs that I admire and envy (I’m sure you guys will too) and really give them basically free press!

What you can expect to see!

Starting at the beginning of each week look out for a new post that will feature a blog and one of their posts that I think is really distinct and deserves to be recognized!

End of the semester = New Beginnings

2011-12-11T11:13:00.001-08:00

The beginning of my fall semester was very exciting I moved into an apartment (started paying bills, YUCK) but I had this wave of maturity come over me. I have always been that kid who felt they were really 40 years old but in a 20 year old body. But that feeling of new found glory quickly went away when I had a mock interview with a “future employer” after we were done interviewing the one thing she noticed was that I had no internship experience. I honestly had no intentions of getting an internship. But she looked at me with urgency and said, “if you want to get a job after graduation, you need an internship.” I left feeling very vulnerable and unprepared with the track my college career has been traveling thus far.

That was 3 months ago...

Last week I met a very nice woman named Erin Flynn in the city at a coffee shop. I was interviewing for an internship and reluctantly I got the position!

So needless to say everything might seem like its crashing down on you, I’ve realized that everything does come together in the end. I’m anxious to see where this internship is going to teach me/ take me, this is definitely a new beginning.
