Anyway last race i made, the final round of WSK in Zuera, was pretty good.&lt;br /&gt;I finished 3rd at only 0&#39;200 from the winner, it has really been like a cycling sprint! And after a long race also, it was the first time ever to race in the distance of 35Km! It hah been really exciting.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So what&#39;s next?&lt;br /&gt;In a few weeks we will flight to Macau, for the grand final of the season, the Asia-Pacific Championship. I&#39;ve almost won it last year, and this time I&#39;ll do my best to go for it. The race didn’t come up to expectations. Both drivers couldn’t reach a great result in the qualifying so in the heats they were forced to recover positions.&lt;br /&gt;In spite of this the material worked well and both KF1 drivers, Bollingtoft and Bressan, could start from good positions in final 1.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On this Sunday, characterized by numerous contacts in the KF1 Category, our Niko Bollingtoft and Alessandro Bressan were also involved in some accidents and contacts. &lt;br /&gt;Unfortunately Alessandro was involved in a serious accident due to a contact with the Bitish Parrot, and the doctors had to intervene. Luckily  Alessandro had only a great fright and some contusions.&lt;br /&gt;However at the end of the race Bollingtoft gained some precious points arriving fifth and recovering positions in the general rating. In final-1 our Danish driver recovered some positions during both finals, on a track where it is not easy to overcome because there are only a few points where it is possible to do it.&lt;br /&gt;In final-2 Niko arrived 12th, gaining points and proving that the kart worked in a perfect way.&lt;br /&gt;Also Alessandro Bressan raced trying to recover positions, in fact he was penalized in one of the rounds after having had a problem (with the water pump). In race-1 our Italian driver reached the 15th position but, unfortunately, in race-2 he had a contact and was thrown of the track.  This way Bressan lost the possibility to gain points for the Championship.&lt;br /&gt;The newness of this first international race, as already said, consists in the introduction of the new starting system with speed limit. The drivers, in fact, from this race and for all the CIK-FIA competitions, had to go along the straight stretch, during the starting phase, with a speed between 30 and 40 Km/h.&lt;br /&gt;The speed is measured though a laser system and reported on a display placed above the starting line. Bressan gained a fantastic second position in the prefinal starting from the first line in the super final. In the final the weather conditions were terrible and caused extremely difficult situations, in spite of this, Bollingtoft reached a great seventh position, starting from the back of the line-up and Bressan arrived ninth. We gained further important points for our drivers and for the team, in both ratings, team and driver, we are always protagonists.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After a careful analysis of the performances during the race week-end, our technical staff stated that the only thing missing was more determination, which would be useful in order to have even better performances in the qualifying lap.&lt;br /&gt;In the race our karts were extremely competitive and during the several rounds we had always better performances, in fact Bressan reached a second position and the second line in the pre-final.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Unfortunately in the pre-final an unexpected shower forced all drivers to start with slick tyres on a wet asphalt and the situation changed immediately.&lt;br /&gt;In spite of this, Bressan gained important points for the championship and Bollingtoft did well until when he had to retire owing to a technical failure at the sixth lap.&lt;br /&gt;The super final took place on a terrible track, it was raining and snowing at the beginning of the race, and with this kind of conditions Bollingtoft and Bressan made an exciting race, with Bollingtoft able to recover from the back of the line-up (28th position) to the 7th position. Only some events denied Kosmic a podium which was undoubtedly within their reach.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bollingtoft was stopped by a faulty gas cable, which delayed him when he has been involved in a brawl with Laine (Tony Kart-Vortex) and Convers (Pcr-Tm) for the seventh position.&lt;br /&gt;Even more significant was the race of Alessandro Bressan, who, after standing out and leading the group in two rounds, was thrown out by De Brabander.&lt;br /&gt;Alessandro, in the final, showed all his great driving skills and the high quality of his kart, he recovered and in the final part of the race he was on the verge of victory.&lt;br /&gt;In our opinion, this result is within our reach, considering what we showed off so far in all the races.&lt;br /&gt;In KF2 and KF3, this was the track the drivers feared the most and all of them did important tests in view of next events. Concerning my performances, I am very satisfied, everybody could see how I was competitive, starting from the free practices I always centred top lap times. float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 200px;&quot; src=&quot;http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/999/worldchamp1lw2.jpg&quot; alt=&quot;&quot; border=&quot;0&quot; /&gt;&lt;/a&gt;Un&#39;ottima prestazione, quella al Campionato del Mondo, per me.&lt;br /&gt;Il bellissimo circuito di Mariemboug ha messo a dura prova mezzi e uomini, ma alla fine abbiamo raggiunto un risultato onorevole.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Il feeling con il nuovo mezzo (Kosmic/Vortex) è da subito stato ottimo, come si era visto nei test delle settimane precedenti, e nelle prove siamo sempre stati tra i più veloci.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nelle qualifiche un piccolo problema di assetto non ci ha permesso di raggiungere la vetta come sperato, ma comunque abbiamo ottenuto un buon 12° posto (su 56!).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nelle manche qualificative la bagarre alla partenza è sempre stata determinante: partendo sempre all&#39;esterno della 3^ fila, mi ritrovavo svantaggiato per la prima curva, specialmente nella prima manche un contatto mi ha relegato nelle retrovie, e ho dovuto recuperare fino all&#39;11° posto.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nelle altre due manche sono riuscito ad ottenere due 5° posti, ma sempre condizionato da partenze difficili.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Questi risultati mi hanno garantito la 9^ piazza di partenza per la prefinale, ma anche partendo con i migliori auspici, sono rimasto coinvolto in una serie di contatti alla partenza che mi hanno decisamente penalizzato, e quindi ho dovuto impostare una gara in rimonta, l&#39;ennesima, fino a raggiungere il 10° posto.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Per la finale dovevo inventarmi qualcosa, ennesima partenza all&#39;esterno, perlopiù in 5^ fila, dovevo trovare un modo per uscire indenne dalla bagarre e non lasciar scappare i primi.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Così allo spegnersi delle luci rosse mi sono buttato tutto sull&#39;esterno, prendendo un notevole rischio... ma è la finale del mondiale, o adesso o mai più. E ha pagato.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Sono riuscito a guadagnare qualche posizione, e per la prima parte di gara mantenevo la settima posizione incalzando gli altri concorrenti... il mezzo era perfetto, il feeling era ottimo e sentivo odore di podio.&lt;br /&gt;Purtroppo però, verso metà gara il motore ha avuto un calo, e questo, complice le gomme che cominciavano a deteriorarsi, mi ha fatto alzare decisamente il ritmo e ho dovuto cedere in ordine prima a Cesetti e poi a Foré, scendendo così in 10° posizione, ma verso il finale sono riuscito a conquistare lo stesso il 9° posto ai danni di Parrot, una piccola soddisfazione.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nel complesso un&#39;ottimo risultato per il mio mondiale, anche se, essendo sempre stati molto veloci durante tutto il weekend, lascia un pò di amaro in bocca l&#39;essere stati così tanto condizionati dagli avvenimenti della partenza. Nonostante questo, potevo vedere come giro dopo giro, facendo il raffronto visivo dei distacchi, guadagnavo notevolmente sui primi...&lt;br /&gt;Alla fine ho ottenuto il 10° posto, ma il ritmo tenuto in gara, considerate anche le &quot;battaglie&quot; subite dal kart, che mi hanno storto qualcosa come l&#39;assale, erano, se non da vittoria, da podio assicurato... un vero peccato. Ma qui anche un decimo può fare la differenza tra la cima e il fondo...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Così mi ritrovo a partire in 7° fila nelle manche, di certo non una posizione privilegiata, ma riesco a rimediare un 9° e un 10° posto che mi garantiscono la 14° piazza per lo start di Gara 1.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;E Gara 1 parte bene, riesco a tenermi abbastanza bene fuori dalla bagarre, mi porto agilmente nella zona alta della classifica, ma un attacco scorretto di un altro concorrente mi mette fuori combattimento, e perdo diverse posizioni prima di rientrare in pista. Così facendo riesco ad agguantare solamente poche posizioni prima del termine, che mi vede transitare in 12° posizione.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;La posizione in griglia non era invitante, per Gara 2, ma questa volta &lt;span class=&quot;blsp-spelling-error&quot; id=&quot;SPELLING_ERROR_3&quot;&gt;disponevo&lt;/span&gt; di 4 gomme nuove, e quindi la rimonta era possibile, considerato il passo tenuto in Gara 1, il set-up ora era eccellente, grazie ad alcuni cambiamenti apportati durante le manche di qualificazione.&lt;br /&gt;Alla partenza riesco a sfilare nella mia posizione, e una volta passate le prime curve e la bagarre iniziale, comincio una serie di sorpassi che mi portano a metà gara a ridosso dei primi, in 4^ posizione. Ma si sa... un&#39;endurance è lunga e non si vince con la sola prestazione... e lo abbiamo provando sulla nostra pelle.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dopo la Pole Position firmata dall&#39;ottimo Michele Santolini, con più di 7 decimi di vantaggio sul secondo, alla partenza il nostro kart vedeva sparire gli altri alle spalle... le prime ore sono un dominio incontrastato. I primi turni della sera un continuo aumentare del vantaggio.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Io sono stato il primo ad affrontare i doppiaggi, ed ammetto che in alcuni casi è stata dura, perché si possono trovare piloti non molto propensi al doppiaggio o inesperti e può capitare un incidente provocante danni, cosa da evitare come la peste in un&#39;endurance.&lt;br /&gt;In ogni caso mi sono districato abbastanza facilmente.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nella notte il nostro vantaggio è aumentato fino a 3 giri sul secondo, e ci siamo limitati ad amministrare.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Fatto il mio ultimo turno &quot;cronometrato&quot;, mi concedo una pausa di due ore.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Alle prime luci dell&#39;alba, ho ripreso la guida. Il team aveva ancora un discreto margine, ridotto a 2 giri per il fatto che nella sosta obbligatoria di 5 minuti tra le 2:00 e le 5:00 il team in seconda posizione ha saltato 2 minuti senza che i commissari se ne accorgessero!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ma questo è il minimo, pensando a ciò che accadrà dopo: ripreso il volante, conducevo abbastanza tranquillamente quando il motore &lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: bold;&quot;&gt;si è ammutolito&lt;/span&gt; nella parte più lontana del circuito!&lt;br /&gt;Per svariati secondi nessuno si è accorto della situazione e purtroppo la mia radio funzionava solo in ricezione quindi non potevo chiamare i box! Così sono sceso dal kart, e dopo svariati tentativi di riaccensione, vani, mi sono messo a spingere per 200 metri mentre gli altri kart transitavano, fino a quando mi ha finalmente raggiunto il kart con il carrello di recupero.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Il kart è andato in riparazione, e per qualche giro la gara è stata corsa in regime di safety-car, ma purtroppo non è bastato. Il problema era dello sporco che otturava il carburatore, e la riparazione ci è costata 5 giri, così siamo passati da 3 giri di vantaggio a 2 di ritardo, quando mancavano solo 5 ore alla fine della gara. Un disastro.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ma non abbiamo demorso.&lt;br /&gt;Abbiamo cominciato una serie di turni semplicemente spaventosi: costantemente i più veloci in pista, guadagnando un secondo al giro sui leader, ma, pur così facendo, la vittoria era troppo lontana. Serviva un miracolo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Che puntualmente è arrivato. Il kart in testa si è ammutolito, quasi con la stessa dinamica del mio guasto, e nello stesso punto del circuito!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Così siamo passati in seconda posizione, e il distacco era di &quot;soli&quot; 50 secondi. La caccia era aperta.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Secondo dopo secondo, ci siamo portati a 20 secondi dal leader, e mancava meno di un&#39;ora alla fine, quando una provvidenziale safety car ha annullato i distacchi, facendoci accodare proprio dietro al leader. Dopo 11 ore, la gara era ancora da decidersi con un sorpasso, che è arrivato subito dopo l&#39;uscita della safety car!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Da lì in poi è stata una fuga, che ci ha visto accumulare fino a 33 secondi sul secondo equipaggio, e l&#39;arrivo trionfale sul traguardo è stata una liberazione!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Un complimento al Funny Formula Team di    Francesco Liberatori e Andrea Rocco per l&#39;ottimo lavoro svolto e la grande professionalità e lucidità mostrata nell&#39;attuare le tattiche e studiare le strategie. Il nostro ritmo era simile, anche se lui accusava un calo di gomme che mi permetteva di stare tranquillamente alle sue spalle senza sforzare il mezzo.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Stavo studiando l&#39;attacco quando ho notato che stavamo andando a prendere Bailly, che occupava la terza posizione, ho quindi deciso di non disturbare Christensen e sfruttare la sua scia per arrivare a giocarmi il podio. Una volta preso e formato un trenino, ho notato di averne decisamente di più e in due giri mi sono liberato di Christensen e poi di Bailly con il quale ho ingaggiato un bel duello dopo che al primo sorpasso ero arrivato un pò lungo e lui aveva contrattaccato.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Una volta conquistata la terza posizione, ho impostato il mio ritmo, convinto solo di dover amministrare, i primi erano troppo distanti, e invece... in pochi giri li vedevo sempre più vicini, il gap si riduceva costantemente, fino a portarmi da 3 secondi a 1 secondo scarso dal leader, ma ormai era troppo tardi e arrivò la bandiera a scacchi... già pregustavo Gara 2, che mi vedeva montare 4 gomme nuove, a scapito di Catt che ne aveva già montate due in appoggio in Gara 1.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Allo start di Gara 2 prendevo subito la seconda posizione, superando Manzur, l&#39;obbiettivo era uno solo: non lasciare scappare Catt, in modo da poter attaccare nel finale di gara, fase che mi vedeva favorito. Ma contro ogni pronostico, già al secondo giro mi trovavo nella sua scia: inevitabile il sorpasso in fondo al dritto.&lt;br /&gt;Al che cercavo di attuare la &quot;fuga&quot;, viste le mie possibilità.&lt;br /&gt;E in effetti col passare dei giri accumulavo pian piano vantaggio, fino a costruirmi un gap di sicurezza... ma la sfortuna era in agguato: a 12 giri dal termine il motore comincia a dare problemi nel pezzo veloce, andando a scatti, e col passare dei giri la situazione non migliora, sempre peggio, tanto che il motore prendeva 1000 giri in meno in fondo al rettifilo... e il vantaggio si affievoliva.&lt;br /&gt;Ho provato a risolvere con la carburazione, ma purtroppo il problema era elettrico, risultato:&lt;br /&gt;stop a 6 giri dalla fine... inutile dire qualsiasi cosa.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ma purtroppo queste sono le gare, in ogni caso ho dimostrato il mio valore, mettendo dietro parecchia gente dopo 7 mesi di inattività, e già questo lo reputo abbastanza. Ora ci sono le prossime in cui ovviamente punto al massimo risultato, l&#39;unico per cui vale la pena battersi.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Un ringraziamento speciale a chi mi ha dato questa possibilità, a mio padre, a tutto lo staff della Tonykart e al sig. All&#39;arrivo comunque una buona 8° posizione.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Nella seconda manche disastro alla partenza (allo start sempre 10°) dove vengo centrato alla prima curva e finisco a prati, rientrando in pista in &lt;span style=&quot;font-weight: bold;&quot;&gt;ultima posizione&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;Scatta una rimonta che mi porta fino alla 9° posizione finale con tanto di giro veloce personale all&#39;ultimo passaggio.
