2012-03-11T17:04:00.000-04:00

For the first time ever, the Wellesley College club water polo team hosted a tournament this weekend. Teams visited from Bates and MIT for the five game showdown, and BU stopped by for a scrimmage. Wellesley went 5-0 in game play, and improve to 7-0 on the season. Major offensive efforts were made by Alex Poon, Elena Quijano and Alex Simas, with excellent defensive support from Genia Nizkorodov, Megan Lambert and Julia Gall. Wellesley is preparing for the North Atlantic League Championships on April 14 at Bowdoin.

A few pictures from the event are posted below, and the full album can be viewed at the storefront. If you would like copies of the photos further color edited, cropped, or otherwise reworked, please email me.

Title IX: 40 Years and Counting

2012-02-19T14:47:00.001-05:00

Wellesley College's Dept. of Physical Education, Recreation and Athletics hosted Title IX: 40 Years and Counting panel and reception. Storied panelists included Olympian Kristine Lilly, VP of Programming at ESPN Carol Stiff, sports psychologist and Olympian Dr. Ann Baltzell, former Sports Illustrated journalist and alumnae Melissa Ludtke ('73), and writer-in-residence at Wellesley Center for Women Laura Pappano, as well as Associate Dean of Students at Wellesley and panel moderator Kris Neindorf. Panelists discussed the positives of Title IX, what life was like before Title IX, and what still needs to be done. Though there were many take away messages, Kristine Lilly said it best, as she encouraged the audience to "just play" for the love and passion of the game, not for the notoriety or fame that may or may not come along with it.

More photos from the reception and panel can be found at http://wellesleyblue.com/titleix/photos. Please contact me for prints! To read complete bios of the panelists and more information about the event, go to http://wellesleyblue.com/titleix/index.

Localities include Red Lodge, MT, Pryor Mountains, Elk Basin oil field, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Beartooth Mountains, Block Mountain and Timber Hill. Check out the full album at www.backprint.com/alexhatemphoto.
