To all my dedicated fans around the world,

I wanted to let all of you know that I recently had to have an intensive surgery to correct a health complication which has been with me since birth. Over the years it has grown far more serious and life threatening, effecting my overall health and ability to run at 100%. Today I am writing to you all to announce the surgery's success! I am now finally fixed, healing, and beginning to feeling better than ever before! I was hoping to be ready and cleared by my doctor to go back to work by now, but unfortunately I must cancel my trip this weekend to Dortmund, Germany to perform at the 20th Anniversary Radio 91.2 Show. I am pretty bummed out about this, but I am staying positive as this is a small obstacle leading to a much healthier me. So, I apologize to anyone who was planning on seeing me perform this weekend and I will be sure to make it up to you all somehow in the coming weeks. Thank you all for your understanding, and don't you worry, this is all a very good thing! You'll be getting a lot of me in the months to come:) And for all of you in Germany, I'll be there in January for the "Forever Yours" tour, performing better than ever, AND even with new music to share! So much exciting news to share very soon for 2012...so stay tuned!!

It's time to share the awesome news with all of you! I'll be touring through Germany this winter! This tour is so exciting for me cause not only will it be the final Germany tour off my solo debut 2010 album, "We've All Been There", but it will also be the start of NEW music to come. Best of all, I'll finally start touring through all the other countries around the world! That's right, I'm in the process of booking shows in South America and Europe right now and will be seeing a lot of you as soon as possible! Germany, you started it all, so let's make this "Forever Yours" tour the best we've shared so far! I CANNOT wait to see all of you again and rock every city I pass through! Hey everyone!! I'm so happy to finally be able to write to you all! Things have been SO crazy! I've been working on so many exciting things and I can't wait to share it all with you! This business is so wacky these days so I always wait for that 100% GREEN LIGHT before I share all the details with anyone, and most importantly YOU GUYS! I do want to take this time and fill you all in as much as I can on what's been going on with my album release worldwide and my career in general, so there's no more possible confusion spreading or misunderstandings about what I'm up to. As you all know, Germany is the "birthplace" for my solo album and I have been working my ass off there for the past year to show them and the rest of the world what I can do! Everything has been going well, just somewhat slow moving, especially to those on the outside. Last year I was told by my international record label that following my hit single "Tonight" and the album release in Germany, tons of other countries would jump on board and my single and album would be released all over the world. For unknown reasons, when that time came, the only thing that happened was that my album was put up for sale, digitally only, sporattically and VERY quietly across the globe. A confused mess to say the least! But there's always another way to make things happen, so that's exactly what I'm doing!.. continuing to work on my career and show my love back to all of my amazing German fans (who have really made this album grow in a big way there) and show all those looking for my success that I will make it happen! In all this waiting, I've begun working on plans to release my album and tour all over the world like you all want too. I already had to struggle and sit around waiting to be able to truly release this album properly.. it's done! I made it happen after 6 long years! I'm so anxious, as I know all of you are too, for this album to be released and to be touring everywhere again!! With your amazing support just know, I am making it happen :) I don't give up, and after all I went through the last years, I will make sure you all get your hands on my music and get to come out to my shows! Thanks again for all of your patience, love and support, that's what keeps me alive and push on, more than I could ever explain!

Tour Diary- March 2011 (Part. 1)

Hello Everyone! Here is the very overdue tour diary you’ve been waiting for and I’ve been dying to have time to finish and share with you all! Every week since I returned home has been crazier and crazier then the next! Lots of great things happening here in the US and internationally (big news update message coming soon!)…working hard to get to each and every one of you around the world! As most of you all know, Germany was and is the main birth place of this album and me as a solo artist, and it’s been growing and growing so well there. Now with all your help, we're on the 3rd radio single, “Euphoria”, and it's climbing up the top 40, with the cd single to go on sale May 20th and me to come back very soon in support of it! But of course first I’ve GOT to tell you all about my most recent amazing crazy insanely fun tour last month! That’s what you’re reading this for and that’s why I’m writing this right now! So lets’ get started!!

            On March 14th, Me, my band, my crew and thousands of pounds of all our stage gear hopped on a plane and headed to Germany. Well that’s the easy summed up version. It’s a lot longer and more complicated than that!
Through a series of flights, we all arrived somewhere in Germany the night of the 15th and dragged our exhausted 24-hours-of-traveling bodies to some strange hotel room beds. I knew that night of sleep was one of the only ones of the whole 3 week tour that would be in a real bed, so I savored every moment! Tour bus driving every night to come, and that means ONLY tour bus couches or little shaky bunk-coffins to sleep on! I was looking forward to it actually, looking forward to experiencing all that this crazy scheduled tour had in store for me. 8 shows in a row just to start with, and only one day off for the whole tour! I had never done such a thing or even heard of another band doing it! So there I was waking up the morning of the 16th to begin a journey that would end up testing my strength in all areas.
            I had TONS of promo the first day non stop; radio visits, acoustic performances, interviews, photo sessions, etc., until I finally got to the venue for sound check and eating and VIP fan meetings and then finally THE 1st SHOW!
Even though I had already been up and working for 14 hours and my head was still partially floating in the US time zones or something like that, the band and me took that stage ready to give the packed house of all you excited fans the best show humanly possible!! But I had no idea what was about to happen…
            I’ve had my share of rough shows because of technical issues or jetlag or plenty of other crazy reasons (like being electrocuted on stage in Thailand!!)…but this show in Hamburg, our first show of the tour, was one of the worst. I knew the second I got on stage and the band started playing our opening song “Tonight”, that there was a major problem with my in-ear monitors. Figuring there are over 500 different cables and at least 30 different pieces of audio gear running all at once on our stage, the problem or problems could be found and fixed by my techs in seconds (I was praying), or it could take them hours (Baaaaad)! Because of bad frequency issues and transformers which allow our US gear to “work” on foreign power, I was only hearing the drums and then my voice and then the guitars and then everything (yay!) but then back to just the drums. Nothing I could do, like try moving positions closer to the wireless antennas on the side of stage, would help the problem. My attention, focus and performance was totally being trashed as our set went on. Yes I was exhausted as well, but I’m used to that and can always turn on my back up batteries! But unfortunately I was simply at the mercy of my tech hopefully getting the problem fixed, and me just making the best of it and doing all I can. The audience was amazing and understanding as I missed words in certain songs, and entire sections in others. To say the least, it was a rough night for me and not the best way to start this crazy amazing tour that I was so excited for. Thank you to the fans that support me and understood that my not-so-great bizarre performance was due to all these common issues, not believing all the other ridiculous rumors that went around!! Needless to say, by the end of the show I was embarrassed and wanted to destroy all of our equipment! But you loyal fans totally lifted up my spirits once I came out and signed for everyone…It was really moving!
I had a lot to work on fixing and figuring out with my techs for all the next shows, and some desperately needed sleeping for myself to get better and stronger! So at 3AM, I finally crawled to the tiny room at the back of our bus, laid smack down on the couch and went to sleep in point-5-seconds, in all my stinky sweaty clothes.

I woke up the next morning confused and cold…where was I?!?! Haha, that’s always how it feels when you wake up for the first few mornings of a tour on the other side of the planet…and especially in COLD, but beautiful Germany!  Whether you’re sleeping in a bunk, or back in the little private room I live in, you have what appears to be no windows, just solid wood panels all around blending in with the walls, complete solitary dark confinement with no time of day or night or location or sense of an outside world. But all you’ve got to do is push some button (which I never can find amongst the 20 other non-labeled buttons!) and the walls slowly lower like magic and BAM! the light floods in showing you the wall of a building or a little grey city street or an open field, yet even still… WHERE AM I!?  Anyway you get the point, it’s quite an experience! It ends very fast though cause I get taken away immediately in a car to the multiple radio stations in multiple surrounding cities and do promo promo promo. I was in Berlin! I knew I’d figure that out eventually! Throughout the day of work, all I was thinking about was the show that night and whether the multitude of technical issues had been found and fixed. I was READY to give the audience in Berlin all of me on stage and have FUN no matter what, and that’s what I did. There were still I’d say 50% of the 1st night’s issues popping on and off (and a new one when my wireless mic turned itself off in the middle of a song!! WTF?!?!), but as a whole I was able to perform much better for the Berlin audience as they were having a REALLY great time and singing every song with me, putting out amazing vibes. It was really great to meet hundreds of them after the show during the always wild signing congo line that I look forward to every night, and of course you SUPER FANS who would come to EVERY show and were so giving and supportive!  I’ll get to you street-teamers soon, lots of good things to say!
So all in all, the Berlin show and the VERY long day surrounding it was DEFINITELY a step in the right direction…less problems all around, only a few lyrical flubs on my part when my attention was pulled elsewhere, and my band guys also were feeling more comfortable as they had less power issues freaking out their amps and monitors, allowing them to rock out a bit.  We were all on our way to fixing every single bug still in the system and being on top of our game 100%, the next shows would prove that big time! But first, I had something very important to make up for the next day in a far away city called Magdeburg.  It was a mission only for me and my guitar player, “Arms”. So we parted ways with the tour bus full of everyone else and went a totally different direction for this 24 hour excursion.
About 20+ fans were waiting for me and Arms at the awesome station, Radio SAW, to put on a special intimate acoustic set that they all had been waiting for. Months and months back in the madness of snowy winter, I was in Germany doing a bunch of special little acoustic shows, and this was one of them, but I never made it there. We had gotten stuck in a crazy snow storm on our 5 hour drive there, and these 20+ fans waited and waited and we never got there. The 5 hour drive ended up being a 11 hour drive, all for me to end up back at the hotel I started at!! Anyway, this time we made it and we rocked out acoustically and met everyone and it was well worth the wait I think!

The following day we were reunited with the band and crew for our show in Herford that night. It was even better than Berlin and almost all the crap had been fixed and we all got to rock out and have overall the best night yet…well that is until the next day.

This giant new glass modern venue was SO cool in Recklinghausen, and it sat totally in the middle of an old park and surrounding small stone buildings that looked to be from the middle ages! After a long day of work, this show and that packed glass hall of fans felt incredible!  Yah, I wish it didn’t take until our 4th show to have everything 100% perfect, but man did it feel GREAT!  Even though it was over 125 degrees on stage cause of crazy bad lighting and the band and I were soaked and swimming in our clothes...

   Hey Everyone!!! Germany/Switzerland/Austria Tour Fall 2010

Hey everyone!! I'm back home now from the Germany/Austria/Switzerland tour and have a nice week off:) My body is still adjusting back to California time after being 9 hours ahead for so long, but it was well worth it...the tour was incredible! Sold out shows, live TV performances, radio visits, winning awards and in-store album signings! It was all a lot of work, but such a blast! And I can't believe my album finally came out there! It was so exciting to see it top ten on iTunes in all three of the countries. So thank you to all the fans in Germany/Austria/Switzerland for buying it and supporting me. I hope you all really enjoy it! Also a huge thanks to all you fans who came to all my shows, especially those of you who traveled from so far away to be a part of them, that really meant a lot to me. I got flags thrown on stage throughout the tour from many different countries by you all, but I wanted to send a huge thank you to the German street teamers who all signed a Flag for me, I have it kept somewhere safe with all the rest of my really great fan gifts.
Each show on the tour felt better than the last as my new band and I began to play tighter with each other and enjoy the enthusiastic crowds. Hundreds and hundred of people singing every word to all my old and new songs, what could be better!? The scenery really added to everything as well. Getting to drive and explore through Zurich, Vienna, and many cities I've started to become so familiar with in Germany. It was all so beautiful, even if the weather didn't always cooperate.
It was really fun to perform in Baden Baden, Germany at the New Pop Festival, both for an acoustic performance afternoon TV show and a full rock show later that night live on TV for millions to see. At the afternoon taping I was awarded favorite New Pop Artist award! This was an award voted on by the fans and I was up against some huge artists, so a big congratulations to all you fans who voted and won me that award! The New Pop radio station's big cartoon moose head logo adorned on to a heavy metal cube with a personalized inscription to me. Super cool! Thank you all:) The show that night was even more exciting, although it was the only one of the tour where I wasn't allowed to do my normal signing for everyone afterwards. There were some really long signings after the other shows! I think two hours was the longest. So many people staying after the show to meet me, thank you! The Cologne show had the biggest crowd and was definitely one of the highlights of the tour for me, also because I was able to say hi to my German family who attended and had a blast. In the late afternoons of the last three days, I had in-store signings at Germany's equivalent to Best Buy called "Saturn". Between TV and radio visits, meet and greets, the in-store acoustic performances and signings, and the shows themselves each night, these days were jam packed! I really didn't have a second to breathe, but those were some of the most fun days. I would go to these stores and perform a few songs acoustically to the hundreds of fans that were waiting, and then I would sign for everyone who bought the album or a poster or "Tonight" single. It was a lot of work, but definitely rewarding to hear directly from all you guys what this new album means to you all. And speaking of my single "Tonight" over there, it's still in the Top 40 at radio for more than 26 week!! This is a crazy achievement. The radio stations say they just keep playing it and no one has gotten sick of it yet. I hope that's the case!! Either way, I am flattered. I'm also really excited for the release of my second single very soon to radio there in Germany/Austria/Switzerland. It's my song "Only One". I'll be shooting a really cool video for it soon! I think this song is going to do really well at radio there as well and I'm excited for it to begin! I'll let you all know exactly when it's released. I'm also extremely excited that now because of the great success I've had with the first single release and album in these territories, my international label, EMI, and I will now begin to release to the rest of the world. So all of you fans that have been patiently waiting all over this earth, the wait is almost over!:) Not only will the first single and album be released soon, but I too will be going to so many places, such as Australia and Japan, Mexico and Brazil, all over the rest of Europe including the UK, and even South Africa! I can't even explain how excited I am! And the really cool thing is, because of the success of this recent tour through Germany/Austria/Switzerland, I will be coming back for a much bigger and longer tour in March of next year! We're planning on playing in more than just those countries in March as well! We are setting up shows in London, Paris, Milan, Amsterdam and more! So keep checking www.alexband.net for tour updates!!
