So for anyone who has ever taken an Albright Tour you know about this poster in the showroom (our dorm room we showcase) that lists 150 things you MUST complete at Albright before you graduate. Well today while on tour with my ambassador buddy, Chelsea Davis <3, I was reading this list and a lightbulb went off! I'm graduating in 2 1/2 weeks and I haven't finished this list yet!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have decided to take on as my mission for the next 2 1/2 weeks to attempt to complete as much if not all of this list! YIKES! After reading it through and crossing off as much as I have done so far I have about 50 more items on this list to complete! And YES that includes even being ponded :( not much of a fan of that Albright Tradition but for the completion of this list I'm willing to do it lol

So I will have until MAY 23RD to complete this list and thankfully I'm not going it alone. I have assembled a team of my close friends to help with this mission. I also have a feeling as I'm writing this that this list will end up growing....but as of right now my team is:

1) Shannon Miller- Roomie and fellow graduating Senior

2) Joy Derov - Sophomore Partner in Crime

3) Cassie Santiago - Freshmen and AMAZING photographer

We will be working on the list and taking photos to keep track of it all and of course I will be sharing with you guys so you can see my progress :D Wish me Luck!!!!

**Special thanks to Jared Epler for finding a copy of the list for me :)**

Yesterday was the Albright Honors and Awards Banquet they hold every year to recognize students and their achievements over the past year. I was fortunate enough to be invited this year to the event and loved every minute of it! I received two award last night. The first was a new award called the Music Business Leadership Award. The Music Business Department didn't even have this award but they decided to create it so I could be honored at this event for all the stuff I've done over the past four years for the department. It was so nice to see that they didnt want me to leave without being recognized and I was extremely flattered that they would even create an award after?! Crazy right! How many people can say "O yea they just created a new award for me" lol

The second award I received was actually a complete surprise to me. I received an Albright Golden A Award!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Golden A award is given to students who have left their mark on Albright's Campus and have been dedicated to Albright over their four years here. This is the story I thought I'd share with you! First off, because I really didn't think I was getting one I was barely paying attention to the awards speeches they give as they get ready to announce the recipients. It's a speech written by Dr. Pankratz (the man incharge!) describing the student. When my name was called I had a pretty confused look on my face like did that just really happen? and all I remember is my parents, friends and teacher in my section cheering as I went up to receive 1 of 8 Golden A's presented that evening!

I'm really excited about receiving a Golden A and wanted to share another great tid bit about the 8 award recipients.....WE WERE ALL ALBRIGHT AMBASSADORS & FACES!!!!!!! I thought that part was kind of crazy and amazing. I want to congratulate all the award recipients so here it goes: Sara Parson, Brittany McLaughlin, Andre Forbes, Andrew Gibout, Simon Foster, Mr. T, and Mallory Olsheski CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You all deserve this award and I'm so proud to be among all of you. I can't believe we did it! lol Enjoy your awards because I can't think of a better group of recipients <3

And as per usual it wouldn't be my blog if I didn't attach some photos lol so enjoy :D

I realized today that after soooooooooooo many snowstorms im missing being in SUNNY Hawaii over Interim :( In a previous post I told you guys that I was going to Hawaii to take part in a Lab Science course offered at Albright that let me follow humpback whale patterns. I also realized that I never shared with you guys how my experience went?!

SO to begin here is what I got to watch everyday for 4 hrs! WHALES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We learned about whales, whales o and more whales lol with your occasional dolphin, tuna, and sea turtles! I got to witness a few whales do this everyday. I swear its even more amazing in person. What the whale is doing right now is called a breach, which means you can see almost 70% of the whales body outside of the water. Pretty Cool right? lol

Going to Hawaii for my Lab Science course was one of the greatest decisions I've made here at Albright. I got to spend 3 WHOLE weeks in Maui and I learned so much about marine life conservation then I could have imaged. Now this course is not all fun and games, we definitely took our homework and field research seriously. We were in class all the time and the rest of the time was spent doing homework. Me and my team got very close. We lived together, did field research together, homework together, even grocery shopping together! I miss all 3 of my lovely ladies from Team 4ever very much. See on my team were 2 Current Albright Students known as the Katies lol Katie Brennan and Katie Walsh (Thankfully I see them every so often) and 1 intern student from another school Sara Homulka. We were all guided through the course by a former Albright Student and now Teacher Assistant, Jon Ciser. He definitely had his hands full with us 4 girls but he loved every minute of it if he ever tried to told you guys otherwise lol

Asides from us there were about 30 students total taking the course from all different colleges which is what I think made this experience so unique. I also love that if I'm ever near whales again in my life I will be able to call out their behaviors (Blow!....Slip Under....BREACH!) and tell others what might be causing their behaviors. We all definitely learned from each other throughout the course in our major class discussion and I learned how important it is that we respect the environment we live in because well we arent the only ones living here.

Thats a little of what I learned but I know you guys are dying to see photos lol so below im attaching a few of photos from our rare free times. ENJOY :)

Us goofing off over our Blue Hawaiis that turned our tongue BLUE :p

Lastly, this is pretty much EVERYONE who took the course and our TA's at the end of interim Luau. Dont we look so nice :D

I've been really excited all semester because for my interim course im Studying Whales in HAWAII!!!!!!

For those of you who dont know, Interim is Albrights winter season that last 3 weeks and you take only 1 course intensely everyday during these period. Albright occasionally offers courses that involve students going abroad to participate like Paris, Japan and yes Hawaii! My Hawaii course is called Marine Mammals and according to my teacher we will be monitoring Whales and how boats affect them. The research that we do helps the people of Hawaii get laws passed to protect the whales. I thought that part was really cool! Our work not only goes towards getting a grade but it also help this species remain protected.

I was told we need hiking books, daypacks and visors to name a few items for the data collect portion of the trip. I felt like I was Indiana Jones.....or more like explorer Barbie because my stuff is cute lol preparing my list of stuff needed for the class. I've been running around all of Philadelphia and realized its almost near to impossible to find shorts and tanks during this freezing winter?! Thankfully I'm off in 3 days to sunny warm Hawaii and the running around in this cold will be over :) The only downside to taking an intense science course in Hawaii with my friends may you ask? I WILL HAVE NO PHONE SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I freaked out about this because anyone who knows me knows me and my phone are attached at the hip so I think I might go into post partum depression without my little sprint rumor to text with :( BUT its Hawaii so that should make all things betters lol Seriously anytime i think of possibly complaining about something to do with this course like its a 14 hr plane ride I can say yea but its a 14 hr plane ride to Hawaii?! lol so yea no complaining really allowed!

I can't wait to go and take amazing pics, swim in the ocean and o yea take my course (Sorry for forgetting that fact Dr. Green) lol

I'll let you all know how it goes and yes I'll post photos just forgive me if you dont hear from me for a bit I'll be out exploring Hawaii and its beautiful marine life for a bit ;)

So for my 21st, I decided that I wanted to celebrate it in Las Vegas! But this trip was not without its many road bumps lol. To begin, the lines at the airport were so long that we missed our 7AM Direct flight to Las Vegas?! The check in staff basically said all flights for friday were booked so if i still wanted to go we would have to wait til Saturday morning. I almost cried and told them but its my birthday?! Another staff member saw my distress and said "let me see what i can do! We will get you to Vegas on your birthday :)" She became my new best friend because within 20 mins she figured out a new arrange that got us to vegas on my actual Birthday!!!!! This new arrangement even gave me a bit of a roadtrip in the process lol instead of having a direct flight we had to make a few stops. To understand the line up of the day im outlining it for you:

Flight Schedule
Beginning @ 9:00am Philadelphia time
Plane 1: Philadelphia, PA-Orlando, FL-2 1/2 HRS
Plane 2: Orlando, FL-Austin, TX -3 HRS
Plane 3: Austin, TX- Las Vegas, NV- 3HRS
Ending @ 5:00pm Las Vegas time

I managed to have my 21st Bday in 3 different times zones?! I like to tell people we took the scenic route to Vegas lol We made a lot of new friends as well! The 1st plane we got on the flight attendant gave us all free drinks, made me a birthday crown out of peanut packages and drink stirrer, and then made the whole plane sing Happy Birthday to me with the main lights out and the flight attendant service lights were turned on to be cake candles that I had to blow out!!!! On the next plane we sat next to a family who was heading back to Austin for Thanksgiving and told us all the places to visit once we got to Vegas. The last plane we ran into a couple who was going to Vegas to celebrate their son's 21st birthday but he unfortunately couldnt get out of college exams so he couldnt come! I thought that it was funny his parents decided to go for him. The flight attendants on this flight also made the plane wish me a Happy Birthday after we landed and were the 1st to card me :) After god knows how many hours spent traveling, we finally arrived in LAS VEGAS!!!!!!!!!! I was so happy and extremely EXHAUSTED by this point.

We made it to our hotel CIRCUS CIRCUS. OMG it was amazing! I picked CIRCUS CIRCUS because it was 1 of the original hotels on the strip and it also had a huge indoor circus, free circus shows, carnival like midway games, and o yea slot machines?! After taking quick showers we headed out to dinner at the Stratosphere, a restaurant that was 107 stores above the strip and it rotated 360 degrees every 120 mins! It had the most gorgeous views of Las Vegas at night. We ran around the strip for 2 days! I took a gondola ride in the Venetian, saw the sirens perform at treasure island, saw a mini opera at the Palazzo Sqaure, visited Madam Tussads wax museum, went clubbing at Christian Audigier and gambled at the Bellaggio (where my favorite film Oceans 11 was filmed) all before returning home on a DIRECT FLIGHT to Philadelphia on Sunday. We arrived home around 2AM were i proceed to crash on my bed! It definitely was a great 21st Birthday celebration that i will never forget.

BELOW is a few photos of my trip so you guys can get an idea of what you can accomplish in 36 hrs in Las Vegas :)
So this past week we had a field trip (yes we still have field trips in college!) to the Hershey Chocolate Plant out in Hershey, PA!!!!!!!

It was so much fun getting to tour the plant, meet the employees, and most of all getting tons and tons of FREE CHOCOLATE! It was like going trick or treating at the factory!? lol We learned alot about how the factory was started and it was interesting to learn that as an entreprenuer, Milton Hershey, failed about 5 times before he had his 1st successful business which was in Caramels. He then sold that company for $1 million (huge chunk of change for his time) to invest in the production of Chocolate. He took a lot of risks and failed A LOT but in the end he became one of the most successful chocolatiers in the United States. An even bigger PLUS he was all about charity and started a school for orphan boys that is still in existance today and is the majority stockholders of the company!

Ok but enough of the history lesson lol

It was definitely a great experience that gave me the courage that I can start a company in the future! Its just gonna require me being ok with failing but still pushing through and taking risks! I do want to start a company one day that deals with Artist Development of Latin Musicians so we'll see where the future takes me on that journey!

We ended our day by going to Chocolate World (basically like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory if it were a gift shop) and bought even more chocolate. I had to get their chocolate covered strawberries fruit cup with whip cream it looked too good to walk away! Needless to say because of my strawberry obsession I was almost late for the bus back to Albright OOPS! I was also wired on my sugar rush for the rest of the day lol but that was ok because it gave me energy to finish the day.

It was the King of the MIC, a freestyle rap battle that was open to the entire campus. It was the 1st time we ever had an event like this on campus so I was pretty excited about it. About 2 years ago, when I had 1st become apart of the MEISA e-board as the SGA (Student Governement Association) Rep, our President at the time, Gill Cornwall, really wanted to host one but we all thought students wouldn't really be interested in doing it so because of that the MEISA Talent Show was born. The name King of the MIC was archived and not really thought about again til this year when the current SGA Rep, David Smith, mentioned that he was interested in us doing an open mic night. A light bulb went of in my head and I said lets to a rap battle instead!!! I told the entire eboard the above story and they all agreed that it was something that our campus would definitely be interested in now. I felt like holding this event had to be one of the things I did as President of MEISA for Gill.

With all that said.....the event was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At 1st as we were registering students the week before I was weary that no one would show or be interested since not a lot of people like to freestyle. We ended up with about 6 contestants and when 7:00pm hit Jake's Place (the event location/best fast food place on campus) was PACKED! I was afraid Public Safety was going to come over and tell us that the event was going to become a fire hazard with the number of Albright Students that attended lol It was great to see that so many people came out and alot of them were there to support their friends who were competeing in the event. I think thats was my favorite part that they all came just to say hey I dont know how to do this but I know it means a lot to you so I'm going to be here to cheer you on! Albrights pretty awesome like that! The contestants hit the stage and it was a night to remember. They all did great down the line and I definitely didn't want to have to be a judge for this because everyone was so unique that it made it even harder to decided who should be crowned King of the MIC?! After and hour of contestants performing and battling a King was crowned and he was Josh Leva! and what did Josh win other than the title? STUDIO TIME!!!! So were gonna be working with him in the studio to produce at least 1 track as his prize :)

All in all we definitely learned alot from this event and we'll be ready for the next one! yea I think this might be a new Albright MEISA tradition so if any of you are interested in participating next year I suggest go for it! let me know if you have questions and ill pass your name on to next year's eboard!

til next time!

Its definitely the beginning of my Senior year and I want to cherish every moment of it! It's also the fact that it is my roommate, Shannon Miller's last semester here at Albright :( that i want to make sure our time together is never taken for granted. We've been friends since our freshman year in Walton Hall when she used to camp out in my room most nights lol its the 1st year we decided to be roommates but we found out that she graduates in Dec credit wise so she won't be returning for our last Spring semester at Albright. Half the time we aren't even in the room at the same time because of our hectic schedules but I love the fact that no matter what the two of us have been doing, we can still come together and be just as silly as we were our freshman year.(tonight we got bored so we decided to skype each from across the room! lol) Its definitely one of the things I will miss come the end of my Senior year. I don't know how I'm gonna adjust to the idea of not seeing my friends that i have had for the past 4 year on a daily basis and the fact that shannon is leaving earlier really brings this to my mind. We've had pretty much every class at Albright together (she's also a Music Business kid like me!) and its gonna be weird sitting in class and not having her next to me everyday, but I guess its all apart of growing up! At Albright I've made some of the best friends that I've ever had and I we've all grown up together which is something I havent really had since grade school lol and I'm definitely gonna miss them but I think I'll just cross that bridge when the time comes.

So far im enjoying my Senior Year, my classes, activities, and mainly my friends! BUT I'm definitely excited to wear my Cap and Gown in MAY!!!!

Til next time!
And after talking to some of the LION Records staff, I realized that it has been a year since LION Records was created?! Its pretty freaky to me to sit here and think that this time last summer I was reading about how to start a label and learning how to draft my first business plan ever! Now a year later, I helped create and run the 1st Albright Record label, helped 1 of my artist record and distribute his 1st studio album, produced photo shoots, attended concerts and release parties, created specialized marketing campaigns, and even was interviewed for magazines and tv shows. It was definitely a whirlwind Junior year at Albright thanks to LION Records and I couldn't have done any of it without my friends aka my fellow Music Business Majors. We all really learned what it actually meant to work together as a team and achieved far beyond our own expectations for the 1st year as a label. I admit it was definitely tough at times and we all fought for what we believed was the right direction for us when we weren't seeing eye to eye, but in the end it was one of the best learning experiences I ever had at Albright. I learned so much about the industry but also about myself. If it wasn't for the experience I had with LION I dont think I would be as confident entering the industry as I am now. It really is a high paced, always changing, and exciting industry. I can't wait to do this for the rest of my life!

So as I enter my Senior year and get ready to leave Albright, I hope to leave behind LION Records for the next generation of Music Business students. I hope that they can get out of it as much as I did and that they take it to the next level!!!!!
I think I actually made it a week before I wanted to go back but it took about a month for me to admit it outloud lol The friends you make at Albright (as cheesy as it sounds) really do become your family and you tend to miss them just like you would your brothers and sisters. Yea you fight and argue and storm away from each other at times but you also share lots of laughs, goofy stories, embarassing classroom events, and huge weekend sleepovers. I guess what im saying is if you haven't experienced this yet get ready to! I'm an only child and I thought I would enjoy the return to the piece and quite of home but..... NO! I MISS ALBRIGHT and its loud hallways and all my loud friends lol I dont even want to think of how bad this will be next summer after I graduate and realize there is no going back to Albright in the fall?! Ugh looks like im doomed!

O well, when does the beginning of fall semester countdown calendar go up on FACES??? ;-)

This school year she introduced me to the world of blogging through her blog under the alias forktheft. Let me tell you that this girl is a true Communications Major! With ever blog shes written she has left me wanting more. It even got to the point where I would start throwing random topics at her just to get her to discuss them in her blogs. I dont know what it is but the way she writes just pulls the reader in and her humor keeps you strapped in for the whole ride! When I began blogging I wasn't sure what would be my motivation or if I would be any good at it. But Sam made me realize that as long as I'm honest and myself that writing my blog will come easily and hopefully be as entertaining at times. On occassion I'll ask Sam what would be a good topic to discuss and today she jokingly said "Blog about me and how awesome I am! :D" ....well actually we twittered about! You gotta love modern technology and the power of social networking!!! I encourage all of you to BLOG here on FACES because its a great way to archive your experience at Albright and share it with people who have similar stories. It's even a great way to give your friends a little shout out too!

So Sam heres my blog about you and all your awesomeness! lol
Last week a bunch of my high school friends and I decide to meet up at a restaruant and have dinner together. As we sat to discussion upcoming nuptials and people moving to states like texas and florida, I couldn't help but think of when we all were going through freshmen orientation, soph hop, senior week and graduation together. Things that a lot of you incoming freshmen are going through now! My biggest fear after graduation was that my friendship with these people who truly defined my high school years would never be the same or worse die out after high school since we no longer would be seeing each other on a daily basis. I'm happy to report that, that fear was STUPID?! We pick up right were we left off everytime we see each other be it once every 3 months or in some cases a year?! We even managed to keep in contact no matter how hectic our college lives got. We all chose different colleges and different paths for our lives, but it's amazing to see that no matter what has happened we will always sit there and talk about the time Mignacca tried to buy tables at a food court or the time Lizzy fell into the orchestra pit and a dozen more stores just like that! So as many of you are leaving your high school friends and are wondering will it ever be the same? dont worry your not losing friends or your past your gaining new weekend hangouts and even more interesting dinner conversations! lol

Til next time!

I was pretty nervous for my 1st day because I wasn't sure what to expect and I really wanted to make a good impression. So as soon as I settled in, my boss/director/founder of AMLA, Jesse Bermudez, hands me what seems to be my master project for the summer, Latin Pulse Production's Business Plan!!!! and then he says "this document is pretty out of date and it needs a new direction, vision, and eyes so I'm going to need your help on this one Alice." Most students would have freaked out (and ok I admit I did a little maybe alot but not outloud) but the one thing I had on my side was the fact that this year at Albright I worked on and helped create my 1st business plan which was for LION Records, Albright's Record Label. If it weren't for that experience I wouldn't have known what to do or where to start when Mr. Bermudez handed over that 80 pg document this morning. So as I quickly got to work reading this business plan I smiled thinking WOW thanks Albright once again :)

Needless to say I made it through the whole thing with a list of corrections within 2 hours which then earned me the title of speedy gonzalez lol

College has been a whirlwind so far and it keeps getting better with each year. I dont know what my Senior year will bring me but im hoping it will bring a lot more amazing memories here at Albright.
