Winter does horrible things to a girl's swag. Fortunately, the forecast reads in the 50s this weekend. I'm bringing out my florals!

I felt like I hit the jackpot when I found this blouse. I have been obsessed with the Givenchy print T shirts since last year, especially the birds of paradise mirror image, and this shirt felt very inspired by that line. I love the juxtaposition of the pastel and neon colors, the long leafs, and the sheer back (not shown). I have a love/hate relationship with these trousers. I love the color and the track pant-like cuff at the ankle. But I hate the way they go from fitting me perfectly at 9am, and then sagging in all the wrong places by noon. I really should invest in a good tailor...On other news, I am so psyched that Spring is approaching. The change of seasons is so wanted and needed right now.

I've been on a serious black and white kick since the new year. I feel like whenever I have been bothered enough to look presentable, I've turned to either black and white prints, or classic solid combos. Tweed, stripes, chevron, tribal, graphic, I'm a fan of it all. Today, I wore a super casual look, rocking my white cropped turtleneck, black skinny cropped jeans and Flight Jordans.

As of late fashion has been taking a backseat on my vision board as I turn my attention to home decor. I'll be moving to a new place really soon and it's got me obsessing over all of the possibilities...Decorating a home is so much more difficult than making fashion decisions. Since it's not practical to update your furniture as often as you update your closet, you have to be a lot more selective, a lot more intentional and show a lot more restraint. I'm often compulsive so it's been a huge challenge for me to take my time in assessing the type of energy I want to dominate my new living space. First thing is first- Getting rid of anything that is not useful or beautiful! I want to make this new move with as little junk as possible. Try to have a clean slate so I can feng shui the fuck out of my shit. ha! I'm starting to pick up on themes in the types of images I've been gravitating towards, which is a good start. I can't wait to make my vision a reality! I will be sure to share once the time is right!

Some of my favorite bloggers are from the West Coast, where the weather seems to always permit for the bomb combination of short shorts and killer boots and statement jackets. Dream weather basically. Californians are such spoiled bastards that just last week they were all freaking out about how freeeeeeezing it was when it turned 50 something degrees!

You know what I do when it turns 50 degrees in Boston? Act like I'm a Califuckingfornia girl, that's what! Which is exactly what I did this weekend. Gotta find some way to rebel in between snow storms.

I recently went on a product binge.

I dropped a pretty penny on stuff I have been dying to try (like the Aveda Invati hair system), and stocking up on some old favorites (like the outer peace line for a clear complexion). It’s silly, but in a way it makes me feel very grown up splurging on things that help me pamper myself. The local drug store definitely carries some treasures in terms of cosmetics, but for whatever reason I’ve been sippin’ on the Aveda Koolaid and it does inspire me to take extra moments in the morning and at night to use the products consistently and well. I’ll keep you posted with any updates/progress my skin and hair make, but in all reality, more than the “results”, the real win comes with the way you feel. And I feel fiiiiiiine.

Winter has been in full effect, and BAM, out of nowhere, we get this beautiful day full of sunrays and skirt appropriate temperatures. Gotta love New England and its commitment to the unpredictable. I received this funky sweatshirt as a xmas gift, and honestly, I'm still trying to come to terms with the way it fits. It's cut for a man's frame and does weird things to my shape. I took it as a challenge and paired it with a bright aqua colored midi skirt that complimented the vibrant colors around the pharaoh. I love the egyptian flavor, making me incredibly nostalgic for the time I lived there. It's super edgy, and probably inappropriate for the work place (I feel like I'm constantly pushing the limits of the dress code). So far so good, though. I'm not sure how I would have explained to my manager the significance of this bandanna bandit.

Spent the weekend in Philly visiting my long lost love. Decided to bring my comfiest apparel and am so happy with the decision since we did so much walking around the city my feet would have disowned me if I did it any other way. Definitely earned the Philly Cheesesteak we indulged in for dinner (I've had better tho).

I'm inlove with this sweatshirt. It's definitely reminiscent of the Markus Lupfer pullover, with a bit more edge, and without the hefty price tag. I adore the slashed back detail and we all know I have an undying obsession with red lips, so it's really a perfect addition to my wardrobe. Metaphorically it can speak to just how much I ran my mouth this weekend, which was in excess. Rolling with five girls with different opinions, energies and personalities---I could have done more listening is all I'm saying.

The city itself is a gem. I've been several times, and every time is a new experience. I love it when a place surprises you like that. It goes to show you can never really feel like you've "been there done that" when it comes to traveling. The more I see, the more I realize there's so little I've seen and how very much there is left to experience.

Special and everlasting gratitude to the gracious and beautiful and funny and adventurous and vulgar hostess that took us in and showered us with crazy comfort. I love you Sarah!

Randomly, I've recently had several conversations regarding color symbolism. A Brazilian friend of mine said bringing in the New Year wearing white is considered good luck and my sister just told me that beginning the year in green brings prosperity. I'm not too much of a superstitious person, but what's the harm in hoping?

It's been dawning on me that I haven't seen my boo all year long, which has made me incredibly nostalgic and downright depressed! The snowstorm that just hit the east coast delayed our NYC reunion, but I am determined to visit before the end of January, prom prom Tani.

Tanisha is a friend that has truly seen me develop throughout the years. She gets me on a really deep level, and is also one of the funniest girls alive. My college years were everything because of this girls' energy, spontaneity, and love for a good prank. We were forced into a triple room Freshman Year, and became life-long friends. Break-ups, make-ups, loss, change, success, failure, we have been through it all.

This girl has supported my blog since day one, when no one else was reading or commenting or interested in any way. She would always give me major props and encourage me to keep writing and sharing this small part of myself with the world.

Sometimes I feel like she's my only audience. And that's cool, too :)

Taking a walk down memory lane, I cannot even believe how fast time has flown. We have been through so much together as friends, and even though we don't get to see each other as much as I would like, staying in touch is always a priority for me, because this type of friendship is so hard to find, and no love that is real is ever lost. I love you so muchTani! Thank you for everything.
