I am overwhelmed when I look back at this past year and am reminded of the many things God has provided for us! We have so much to be thankful for! I love this time of year and taking the time to write down all that I am thankful for!

First and foremost, I am thankful for God who is so faithful, sovereign and clearly in control of everything life throws at us.

The list goes on:

My husband! Words cannot describe how much I appreciate his unfailing love, encouragement and partnership through life, marriage and this business.
Elly (who just always puts a smile on my face)
My family (without whom I wouldn’t smile or laugh as much) – I can’t thank you guys enough for your amazing support!
Friends (old and new)!
Our clients and amazing blog followers, commenters and “likers”!
Ice cream (it’s what gets me through the rough days)
Ann and Grace (so thankful that God put them in my life to be a reminder of how we need to be a bright light in a dark place)
Our church and life group (so thankful to be surrounded by people who help us strive to draw closer to God each and every week)
Netflix instant watch (without which we wouldn’t have been able to watch nearly as many TV series – these are some of our favorite nights together)
J. Crew Factory (I would not be able to afford the clothes I love without this outlet store)

We had a great time spending the morning with Rachel and her mom, Jolene at Moraine State Park on Saturday! The lighting was perfect and Rachel is simply stunning! She just got accepted and received a scholarship to attend Point Park University next fall!

Getting Published

It finally came!!! I came home Thursday night to a thick kraft envelop in our mailbox expecting some photography supplies, but was overjoyed when I saw that it was The Knot Spring/Summer 2013 magazine! I’ve been anxiously awaiting for this particular magazine ever since I found out in August that we were getting published in it for Brandi and Kevin’s beautiful wedding! I still cannot believe this is real and am incredibly thankful for Brandi and Kevin and their enthusiasm to help cross “get published in a wedding magazine” off my bucket list! You guys are amazing!

Here’s to always striving to get better, continuing to set new goals, and more publications in the future!

Laura + Bobby | Married

Laura and Bobby’s wedding ended our busy June through October season! And despite the rain and chilly weather, it was such a fun way to go out! I graduated from high school with Laura’s younger sister and have had such a great time getting to know Laura and Bobby over the past year! Laura is so much fun to be around, and you’ll get a glimpse of that through these photos! They had tons of fun details to photograph and even with the rain, we were able to sneak out to Bedner’s Greenhouse for some portraits after the ceremony! The reception…was a BLAST! Fun props, lots of dancing and some tears of joy!

Laura and Bobby, thank you for allowing us to celebrate with you guys! We are so thankful to have gotten to know you more and wish you two all the best and lots of happiness!

Office Love | Desk

When we were looking at houses, one of our “must-haves” was a room for me to have a home office. I dreamed of the day we could welcome our clients into our home to discuss all the plans of their weddings! I love being able to invite our clients to a warm house setting that is casual and comfortable. Mike and I strive to really build relationships with our clients, and we feel that inviting them into our home is a great way to allow our clients to feel comfortable with us from the start. Needless to say, when we saw this house, we knew it would be perfect! My office is on the main floor near our kitchen (easy access for coffee, tea, brownies…you name it!). The office was the first room we started working on and the first room that was completed! I want to share with you a little peek into my office…so over the next couple of weeks, I will be posting all the different areas of my office! Today…my desk!

Top Ten Tuesday | Puppy Lessons Learned

We’ve had Elly for nearly two weeks, and we are just now starting to learn some of her antics…and she is finally starting to learn some of ours! I’m glad we don’t know what she is thinking when we talk to her like a baby in our high-pitched voices asking her if she has to go potty or if she wants to snuggle. Here are the top ten things we have learned thus far with our new puppy…

She cries (like a baby – quite literally)…and it’s normal (or so we’ve heard).
Letting her drink water before bed never ends well.
She goes up the stairs a lot more gracefully then she comes down.
“Puppy eyes” are a real thing…and don’t even get me started on the head tilt.
Shoelaces and tags can provide hours of entertainment.
She doesn’t usually eat much, but she’d eat an entire bag’s worth if we feed her out of our hands.
Dogs can be quite clumsy.
Socks make for a great (free!) toy.
She doesn’t like being alone…but who does?
She has A.D.D. with her toys.

Weekend Away

This weekend I went up to Penn State to visit one of my very best friends!! Kristin is an intern for CRU (Campus Crusade for Christ) and is absolutely perfect for it! She is a friend that cares deeply, listen intently, celebrates when you’re celebrating and comforts when you’re having a bad day! She encourages me in my walk with the Lord and is always asking how she could be praying for us! I met her while we were preparing for our first trip to Kenya (in 2010), and God clearly knew exactly what He was doing when He introduced us to each other! It’s easy to say that my life has been a little brighter since the day I met this girl!!!

Now, back to the weekend…

It’s safe to say that Kristin and I spent most of the weekend shopping and eating…and it was awesome! We went to some of her favorite coffee shops, breakfast spots and snack stops! We also did quite a bit of Christmas shopping (yes, both for decor and gifts)! Oh, Home Goods and TJ Maxx, you make my heart happy!

We spent time catching up and encouraging each other as well as indulging in some favorite Christmas movies (Elf and The Holiday) and making popsicle stick snowflakes!

I missed Mike and Elly very, very much, but is was so wonderful reconnecting and sipping on some Joe with a dear friend!

Frost

It was bittersweet seeing the frost on the grass this morning. Bitter because Elly’s little feet didn’t love it, I had to defrost my windows in the car, and we had to turn up our heat…sweet because it reminds me that we are getting closer and closer to Christmas, hot chocolate, gift wrapping, and watching Elf!

Steph + Nick | Engaged

I met Steph many years ago in high school (it’s crazy how time flies!) and am unbelievably excited to be a part of her wedding day next September! Steph and Nick have been dating for two and a half years, and they are just the sweetest couple. We started their session off by meeting at Starbucks, chatting a bit, and snapping a few shots! I was caught off guard when they showed up with some gifts for us and our new puppy! They brought homemade pumpkin roll (Yum! Have I mentioned that I love all things pumpkin?!) as well as treats and training bells for Elly, since they know what we are going through, having a young pup of their own! Like I said, they are the sweetest! It was so great getting to know them as a couple and witnessing how their love for each other was so apparent in how they interacted together. As you can see below, that love they share made for a comfortable transition from sitting and talking to photographing them! Enjoy some faves from their session…
